If you loved Francesca Catlow’s The Little Blue Door, then you’ll adore learning more about Anton in this standalone novella prequel. With her iconic descriptions of the sights and smells of Corfu, Catlow delivers a beautiful story. Whether you have read The Little Blue Door yet or not, if you love a story set in Greece, this is for you.
A teenage decision can change everything.
Anton Greenwood is half English and half Greek, happily living on the island of Corfu. That is until his parents decide they want to expand their sons' horizons.
Can he make it on his own, or will he get in line with his family?
Francesca Catlow writes bestselling fiction filled with passionate love stories that feature flawed, and sometimes broken, characters as they face a crossroads in their life. She often explores heartbreaking themes while also whisking readers off to beautiful locations.

So as I’m not starting the new year by laying on a beach, I thought I would settle with some fictional sun.
I adored The Little Blue door and was happy to get back to Anton ( I think we need regular novellas of him and other characters, in between the series, hint hint 😉)
This is a short read but it’s enough of a fix to keep fans going.
The author writes so vividly, you completely visualise the settings, the house restorations really ‘popped’..
Now to twiddle my thumbs impatiently, till Melodie and Anton are back in my life.
I enjoyed The Little Blue Door so much and I think fell a little bit in love with Anton! This novella is about Anton as a teenager and the decisions he makes that affect the rest of his life. Well written and once again took me off to the wonderful island of Corfu. It was great to have more background and could be read before or after reading The Little Blue Door. I can’t wait for the second novel to see what happens next!
Gosh this book ended on a big old cliffhanger! If there was one thing I needed to finally make me move The Little Blue Door up my TBR then it was that 😂
Anton is a great character and I'm really looking forward to reading and continuing his journey, although I think he doesn't make the best decisions. He's clearly a very passionate man though and we like that.
I loved the setting of this book; Greece is somewhere I've always wanted to go and I love Greek food (which is tantalisingly mentioned in this book). I also loved the big family feel, but I wasn't a fan of Katerina.
It was really easy to read with short pacey chapters and at only 80 pages I would definitely recommend you give this one a go, as what do you have to lose! Also the chapters of some of the titles were brilliant, one in particular 👌🏼
This was a beautifully written novella about a young Anton who we met in the full length novel, The Little Blue Door. I loved getting to know this character that I fell in love with through that other book. There are so many things that just tug on your heartstrings throughout this story. Now that I’ve had this mini Anton fix I’m desperately waiting on the next installment of this series to come out!
"Some people feel like a puzzle piece of the sky, or the grass. They aren’t really the focus of the puzzle but you’d soon notice if it wasn’t there.”
• The Little Blue Door • After a world wide pandemic, Melodie has been filled with grief after losing both her loving grandparents who raised her from infancy. She wants to bring back some normalcy to her life and go back to Corfu, the beautiful Greek seaside town her grandparents used to bring her to when she was a child. Once she gets there she meets a charming man named Anton and his daughter Gaia, and as she starts to build a relationship with them fate has other plans, plans of the past and present colliding in a way you will not see coming!
• For his love of Corfu • Anton's Parents announce their news to their children that they are leaving Corfu and moving to Englund, but Anton will do anything he can to stay behind, because he can't leave the beautiful Corfu or it's people behind.
I was given both these Novels by the wonderful author @francescacatlowofficial Thank you so much for sharing this story with me! The Characters in this series were witty and relatable and fun to read about. The story line was beautiful and there was so much I didn't see coming. I didn't want The little blue door to end, I needed more, and I'm so glad i got to learn more about Anton and what made him tik in the Prequel! I loved getting to know both the main characters at different times in their life and understanding the choices they made. I give The little blue door series by Francesca Catlow ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This novella is a prequel to Catlow's brilliant debut novel The Little Blue Door, which has just had its second edition revealed- go check it out!
It's a peak into the babe that is Anton's life, long before Melodie. It's short, sweet and leaves you wanting more.
Seeing him stumble his way through love was endearing, particularly the realisation towards the end.
The writing style makes everything so easy to visualise, it was brilliant to be back in this world.
I have to say, I cannot wait to see what everyone thinks of the sequel that I had the pleasure of being a beta reader for, and if you haven't already, pick up The Little Blue Door for some Greek magic!
Having read The Little Blue Door I couldn’t wait to read this prequel novella. I think it was impossible not to fall in love with Anton and it was irresistible to find out more about his early life. This little book certainly didn’t disappoint, I can’t wait for May to read the next one in this lovely series and be transported back to lovely Corfu!
A very good prequel in The Little Blue Door series
Very enjoyable book. I have read both books in The Little Blue Door series and they were excellent. I look forward to the third one next year to continue the story.
