The coven is more divided than ever. Witch hunts have broken out among our own people, but the burnings were only the beginning.
The priestesses will stop at nothing to find the Oaken Wands, and it’s only perpetuating the persecution of witches who dare to speak out. There’s a Wand hidden somewhere inside the school, and if the wicked priestesses find it before we do, chaos will unleash.
My friends and I are prepared to take a stand. Our powers grow stronger by the day, but anyone who defies the council is forced to pay the price.
Rebellion is brewing in Octavia Falls. I have to unite the Casts as one—or face the noose.
Lucas
A demon has arrived at Miriam College—and he’s my new professor.
He was summoned from the Abyss by the priestesses to locate the Oaken Wands, but his arrival has triggered discord within the coven. Students are turning up dead on campus. I’m certain the demon is behind it, but despite our best efforts, he’s untouchable. The only way to stop the killings is to vanquish him ourselves.
The priestesses want a witch hunt, but Nadine and I will lead an uprising.

The coven divides and demons rise in this new adult paranormal urban fantasy series. Hunt demons, astral travel, and stand against injustice in the fourth installment of the College of Witchcraft series.
This series takes place in the Hidden Legends Universe, along with the Academy of Magical Creatures series, the Prison for Supernatural Offenders series, and the University of Sorcery series. The Hidden Legends universe features college-aged protagonists attending magical academies, dual points-of-view, disabled and diverse main characters, and steamy, empowering romances. Each series stands on its own and can be read in any order.
This is a full-length novel over 400 pages. Recommended reading age 18+
Alicia Rades is a USA Today Bestselling Author of over forty young adult and new adult paranormal novels. Her stories follow characters in equal-dynamic romantic relationships and feature themes of discovering and claiming one's inner power. When she's not dreaming up magical stories, she's either binge-watching paranormal TV shows, meditating, or making crafts and cooking with her family. Her favorite tropes are small-town mysteries, witches, and magical academies set in the modern world. She has an unhealthy obsession with psychic characters and writes with a deck of tarot cards next to her computer.
This universe I have been listening to for the past few years now. All of these series have so much diversity with races, love interests, disabilities along with politics and how so much can be skewed by power. I am excited to finish this series and see where the last series bring everything all together; or at least I hope so.
It was okay. The whole book I felt was just a big lead up to the last following two books so not all that much happened and if it did it got back tracked at the end. I think the only permanent positive thing that happened was that Nadine finally got her transplant. I so did not expect Charlotte to change sides like she did and then for her to freaking die anyway was crazy. Also, Lena’s death kind of felt anticlimactic and unresolved especially because of all the hate she was giving Nadine and Lucas and then for her to just die so quickly like that was weird. Very glad the freaking demon is gone though one last thing they have to worry about. I am actually very surprised about the Professor Warbright plot twist. Never in a million years would I have thought he was behind those deaths.

The Demon’s Spell (Hidden Legends: College of Witchcraft Book 4) ~~ This one took the story to another level entirely. The battle between destiny and choice hit home real hard. Nadine’s courage and Lucas’s desperation to break the curse actually had me tearing up. There are scenes in this book that gutted me where the ones where Lucas pushes her away trying to save her, even though it’s killing him inside.
The enemies are getting stronger, and trust becomes dangerous. Watching the coven fracture, friendships tested, and dark forces closing in felt so real I could taste the tension. The stakes explode toward the end and the twist left me speechless.
I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself ~ you won’t regret it.
A tremendous paranormal witches & wizards romance. Nadine and Lucas face the self-centered decisions of the Imperial Council at every turn. The same council which summoned a demon to find the Oaken Wands. The same one which kills innocents in the name of power. The one whose majority members have lost their way.
The evil of this tale is clearly defined and pointed out. Riots, beatings, and murder are the themes of this story. People are reduced to their breaking points. The end is a mix of success and failure followed by a cliffhanger.
There was so much drama in this book, it feels like whiplash. There’s definitely a pattern in all the Hidden Legends series and if one doesn’t like that, these books are probably not the thing. All books in the same spot in a series end more or less the same, so some aspects are predictable. But in the end, I enjoyed the story, even if I would probably have voted lower with reading the book instead of listening to the audiobook version.
I couldn’t put it down! I read this book in less than a day. I absolutely love Nadine and Lucas. Alicia knows exactly how to keep you interested in a book. I can’t wait for the next one.
I really enjoyed this series! Plenty of supernatural witchy drama with a sprinkle of spicy. (Well the Youtube versions are not too much for listening in headphones while at work 😅) I'm going to read the others series within the "hidden Legends universe" next. I especially love that they have main characters with different disabilities too so it's educational and easy to relate to them.
