Welcome to Happy Cat, Georgia, where the men are hot, the romance is swoony-worthy, and the animals don’t play by the rules. This box set includes four stand-alone but linked romantic comedies as well as a bonus novella featuring a British single dad who’s head over heels for his nanny.
About the books:
'Hosed' is a steamy romantic comedy featuring a firefighter and the virgin nerd next door, complete with a pet raccoon, scandalous gossip, and dildo football. (No, really.)
'Hammered' is a tipsy fun romance featuring a grumpy bartender and his rainbows-and-sunshine secret crush, complete with a panty-stealing hedgehog, the world’s best wedding rescue, and love saving the day.
'Hitched' is a red-hot, enemies-to-lovers laugh-a-palooza featuring a girl in need of a marriage of convenience and a man in need of a cold shower to keep from falling for his fake wife. They say opposites attract, but in this case, they also combust...
'Humbugged' is a laugh-out-loud holiday romp featuring a Marine with a heart of gold and a baker in need of a hero. Complete with the world's most awkward Christmas caroling, a photoshoot with furry friends, and more naughty baked goods than is good or decent.
'Happily Ever Aftered ' is a steamy novella featuring a nanny in search of true love, a hot British single dad, and all the animal and town shenanigans you’ve come to expect from Happy Cat.
Before she became a USA Today and #1 Amazon bestselling romantic comedy author, she was a young military spouse who got into writing as self-therapy. That happened around the time she discovered reading romance novels, and the two eventually merged into a career. Today, she has more than 30 knee-slapping Pippa Grant titles and nine published under the name Jamie Farrell.
When she’s not writing romantic comedies, she’s fumbling through being a mom, wife, and mountain woman, and sometimes tries to find hobbies. Her crowning achievement? Having impeccable timing for telling stories that will make people snort beverages out of their noses. Consider yourself warned.
Stories from Happy Cat, a small Georgia town, which "has its charms but the townsfolk seem a bit unhinged", as Colin from the bonus novella so aptly concluded:) Yeah, all these stories are sweet and crazy, and over the top sometimes, but I found it mostly just hilarious and I was enjoying it nevertheless.
Is it technically wrong when I’m eager to disappear into the Happy Cat world because of the critters more so than the human characters? Yes, the human characters are awesome, but the critters are next level, so here's your chance to catch up with George Cooney, Chewpaca, and Nutquacker! And with the addition of a new story, there are more wonderful characters and critters to meet.
Happy Cat is a quaint, quirky small southern town where the characters are lively and memorable, the outrageous shenanigans abound and the non-human characters steal the scene every time. And you'll fall in love with every part of these stories!
I feel it's only fair to warn you, you'll want to insist your family leave you alone, put your phone on silent, and absolutely, positively do not read this in public. Also use caution with food and beverage because your spontaneous barks of laughter could prove hazardous when coupled with eating or drinking.
These stories are laugh-out-loud, spew-your-drink, hold-your-aching-sides hilarious while also having a surprising depth of heart. Just what you need to lighten your day, put a grin on your face and a happy sigh in your heart. Make sure you don’t miss this one!
*HOSED Hosed is the first book by the duo of Lili Valente and Pippa Grant. And I am hopeful that there will be many more to come. I have read every word written by Lili but this is my first Pippa book. I know it will not be my last.
It all started with some lube.
Cassie is back in town taking charge of her sister’s sex toy company while Savannah is traveling the UK. That’s another story to be told. Anyway, Cassie isn’t exactly comfortable with the idea since she would rather be developing a new game instead of coming up with new lube flavors. After-all, it’s not like she uses them all the time. She is a nerdy gaming woman still holding on to her V-card. But, she is up to the challenge even if some in the small town want the company to go away.
Ryan almost didn’t recognize her. The girl who made him laugh in high school. She was all woman now. He didn’t even know she was back in town. He was definitely interested in becoming friends again after years of not seeing each other. Except, his brothers saw things differently back then. She hated him. Well, he knows that won’t do. He is determined to know why and to get back on her good graces. They were now neighbors. At least until she goes back to San Francisco.
Awe! I loved this story. It’s fucking hilarious, sweet, sexy, and has added suspense. I enjoyed Ryan and Cassie’s fun and flirty banter. Their silly humor. Their love for George, the raccoon. And the chemistry between them is both sweet and sexy. They never were a couple before but it still has the whole second chance romance vibe.
Overall...I laughed hard. It’s such a fun story full of small town gossip, dildos, chemistry, and the best pet. Ever. Oh...and I need more of the O’Dell brothers! I really do.
P.S. You must get the bonus epilogue!
Quotes:
“Oh, girl, I don’t know what’s going through your head, but I like it. It looks like a good time.” “I think it will be.” I grin.
“Do I need to get behind you and show you how to handle that joystick?” she asks. Did she just… She did. She made a sex joke. I arch a brow in her direction. “Cassandra Sunderwell, have you been practicing your dirty talk?”
“No eating in bed, Cooney.” I keep my tone light so Cassie won’t worry. “You know the rules.”
*HAMMERED Hammered is the second book in the Happy Cat series by Pippa Grant & Lili Valente. It can be read as standalone but I do recommend reading Hosed since it’s hilarious. The fireman got his happily ever after and now it was time for his brother, the bar owner to get his.
After Olivia almost accidental killed someone she needed a stiff drink. That night was not the only stiff thing she got. She found her kindred penis in the process. Jace O’Dell. Town bad boy with a big heart. And that heart wanted her. Only it couldn’t have her.
After years of an on and off relationship with his ex girlfriend he was starting over. He was moving on. He was happy. One night with Olivia made him feel so damn good. Then he woke up the next day totally fucked. His life had started over but not the way he was picturing it. Miserable and getting married to his ex.
Olivia couldn’t let it happen. She just couldn’t. She had to save him. So she did the only thing she could. She stole the groom from his wedding. With the help from her hedgehog. Even Princess could see it was the right thing to do. She understood Jace wanted to do the right thing but at what cost? Forever married to someone he didn’t love.
I can’t really say more than that but I will say that is full of laughter, heat, crazy animals, family, and love. I enjoyed every minute of the craziness. It was so much fun and beautiful at the same time. I will also say that I wanted to slap some fools on more than one occasion. That really only means that I was invested.
P.S. Make sure to get the bonus with the link at the end of the book!
Quotes:
“I’m gonna fucking deserve you,” I promise. “Deserve this.” “You already do deserve it,” she says.
“You don’t really believe George talks to me, do you?” she asks, searching my face. “Well…no, I don’t,” I say, unable to lie to her. “But I like that you believe it.”
“I love your smile,” I whisper. “It lights up my entire world.”
*HITCHED
Hitched is the third book in the Happy Cat series by the hilarious duo, Pippa Grant and Lili Valente. I love this series full of awesome families, funny creatures, and amazing friends. It can be read as standalone. There are four brothers in the O’Dell family and it was time for a third brother to get hitched. Again.
This isn’t the first time Blake and Hope said “I do,” but it is the first time they did it for an alpaca. It had been four years since they got married and had an annulment in the city of Sin. Since then Blake and Hope have been in this limbo of friendship between love and hate. He didn’t want to marry Hope again to just get hurt. If they were getting married then it was going to be real. He let her walk away the first time but he won’t make that mistake again.
Hope knew how to love animals but she felt she didn’t know anything about loving or being loved by a person. Her family was full of miserable people. Miserable marriages. She didn’t even know if she believed in marriage but now she was married twice. To Blake O’Dell. The only man who made her feel anything. It scared her. She had three months to stay married to him. Three months to keep her distance from her husband.
I can’t say more than that. I will say that I laughed out loud so many times. I fell for this couple and fell any more for the previous couples along with all of their nutty animals.
Overall…it’s a story full of passion, laughter, craziness, short circuits, and love.
Quotes:
Maybe it’s wrong to look forward to torturing my ex-wife with our second ill-advised marriage. But if it’s wrong, I don’t want to be right.
“I am not your beta, woman. I’m an untamed man-beast who eats rocks for breakfast and spits nails for lunch.” “Because that makes sense.” “Go on. Say it. You’re my alpha alpaca, Blake. That’ll be your fourth nice thing about me today.”
I want this kiss, this touch, this press of our bodies, to show her that I’m here.
*HUMBUGGED
Humbugged is the fourth and believe the last book in the Happy Cat series by Lili Valente and Pippa Grant. You can read each book in the series as standalone but I do recommend reading the series since it’s hilarious and sexy. If you read Hitched then you will remember Noelle, the cursed new baker in town and Clint, the youngest O’Dell brother. I am so happy that they got a story, I just knew there was a little something-something there.
Noelle is the newest member of the Happy Cat community and it’s hasn’t been the easiest of transition with her new bakery being haunted and all. She did however enjoy the small town and the people in it. And even the crazy animals running the streets. It’s only been a few months but she is feeling great about her move and now it was time for her to move forward in another way. It was time to get into the Christmas spirit. It’s been lost and now it was time to find it. Gingerbread men. Reindeer. Christmas cookies. Caroling. The only distraction? Clint O’Dell in a Santa Hat. And in her daydreams it’s the only thing he is wearing.
Clint felt a spark the minute he saw her. His Cupcake. He wanted to taste her sweetness and to get to know the woman who could break his heart. He couldn’t stay away from her and who could? He was on borrowed time since he was going to be re-assigned at some point. A Marine always is. This was the only time to get what he wanted so he agreed to a friends with benefits fling through the holidays. Why not? It should be easy to walk away, right?
So wrong.
I loved this story! Clint and Noelle are so much fun!! Their banter is flirty, sexy, and witty. They make each other laugh, smile, and get hot and bothered. I laughed throughout the whole book. Except for of course the moment where they could melt ice with the heat they are putting out. And the family! The O’Dell men and their better halves are hilarious. And I can’t forget the animals...they are the best! But really, it’s a fun holiday story filled with love.
Quotes:
“Oh, I’m sure Clint doesn’t need backup. I could go visit the kittens.” “They’re asleep too,” Hope says. Have I mentioned I love my sisters-in-law? “And I absolutely need backup,” I say. “Get over here, Private Cupcake. You’re on snack duty. Grab those carrots, soldier.” “I’m going to grab your carrot in a minute,” she grumbles on her way past me. “My carrot and I would be honored. Anytime.”
“You can’t dominate me, Cupcake, but I’d really love to watch you try.”
“Last one to the shower is goose food.” “Speak for yourself, Cupcake. That goose will never eat me.” She winks. “But if you’re good, I might.”
*HAPPILY EVER AFTERED
Happily Ever Aftered is a novella to be read last in the series and only part of the boxset. I love this series so much. It’s hilarious, sexy, and full of the amazing characters, Savannah being one of them.
Savannah left her hometown of Happy Cat years ago after her divorce. She didn’t plan on being across the pond for so long but after becoming a nanny to a sweet little girl she knew she wanted and needed to stay. That was three years ago and now she is back home just in time for the Happy Cat’s annual treasure hunt. What she didn’t expect was for him to show up. Colin, her grumpy but oh, so sexy, smart, and sweet in his own way ex-boss as of yesterday. She was shocked but she didn’t have time to talk. This treasure hunt would led her to happily ever after and she wasn’t about to give that up even for the man she liked more than a boss…
OMFG! This story is funny AF. It is full of cameos, laughs, crazy animals, and one awesome little girl.
Quotes:
“No guesses first?” “Something to do with that llama, I’d imagine,” Colin suggests. “Alpaca,” Hope corrects. “But I’ll forgive you for the mistake, because your accent is utterly delicious.” “Ah, thank you.”
“What the devil are you doing?” If I’m the beast, Savannah is Snow White, communicating with the woodland creatures.
The Happy Cat Box Set by Pippa Grant and Lili Valente contains the complete Happy Cat series—four standalone interconnected romantic comedies—plus a bonus novella.
~~~~~
Book 1:Hosed(5 Stars) - a fun, quirky, contemporary, small town, second chance, romantic comedy featuring the relationship between a virgin code-writing nerd and the hot firefighter who lives next door.
Cassie and Ryan's story is full of wacky laugh-out-loud moments. It's steamy, romantic, and heart-warming enough to bring out all the emotions. I loved it!
Book 2:Hammered(3.5 Stars) - a quirky, contemporary, small town, romantic comedy featuring the relationship between the town bad-boy screw-up and an eccentric hippie chick.
Jace and Olivia’s story is full of zany humor, unusual animals, quirky townsfolk, and has a touch of suspense. I really loved Jace, but Olivia was such an oddball that I had difficulty relating to her although I liked her. A quick, fun read.
Book 3:Hitched(4 Stars) - a contemporary, enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, second chance, romantic comedy featuring a couple who were secretly married for one day four years earlier and can’t be in a room together without bickering.
Hope and Blake’s story was full of hilarious moments, adorable animals, and quirky, small-town antics—there was even a little bit of action/suspense. Fantastic chemistry and loads of witty banter—so much fun.
Book 4:Humbugged(4.5 Stars) - a contemporary, holiday, friends-with-benefits romantic comedy featuring a sexy marine and the new town baker.
Savannah and her boss, Colin, finally get their happily ever after when they join forces for the town treasure hunt in this sweet, funny story filled with our favorite Happy Cat residents and animals. An enjoyable read, and the perfect way to end the series.
If you love steamy, small-town, laugh-out-loud romantic comedies featuring zany townsfolk and animal hijinks, you can’t go wrong with this box set.
Squishy emotion and laugh-out loud moments make this an amazing rom-com series…
This collection has some of the funniest, sweetest stories I ever read! I’m a pushover for hunky heroes and sassy heroines. Throw in family to crave and four-legged animals that make me howl with laughter then you get why I love these so much…
The O’Dells are a mainstay in Happy Cat and their hijinks are legendary. They tease, they joke, they prank yet they love each other like no other. When each brother finds their ‘one’, hilarity and heart- swooning abound! Each outing was a test on how long you could stifle the laughter and the smiles as love (and hilarity) took over.
I’d read all the full-length stories and this set had a new novella ‘Happily Ever After’d’. We heard about Savannah many times – the twin who was in England – and she got her own story here, right back in Happy Cat. George and his family, the whole four-legged menagerie, was back and it made for another laugh out loud read. My heart was all in…
What a great excuse to go back and re-read these stories! If I need a pick up, I will come back to them again and again… ~Diane, 5 George for Mayor Stars
I have read all the full-length titles as they released ... I got this from KU to read the novella (which in my professional super-reader librarian opinion deserved to be full length, but I digress). I have loved each of these stories for the heart and the laughter. Happy Cat is a fun place to visit. I am sad to see that this series is concluded and I can only hope that Grant and Valente decide to write more rom-coms together in the future.
Excellent box set, funny and hot 4.5 I find the characters are often hilarious, as are the animals who are characters in their own right, and each one's story is quite unpredictable due to their characters. Noted, this set includes an additional short story "Happily ever aftered" which brings the series to a close still retaining the humor of the previous stories.
Title: Happy Cat Box Set Author: Pippa Grant, Lili Valente Format: Ebook Genre: Romantic Comedy, small town Standalone: Yes all books in this box set are standalone Part of a Series: This is the complete Happy Cat series with a bonus novella 5/5
Welcome to Happy Cat, Georgia, where the people are a little bit eccentric, the animal are engaging in shenanigans and the town comes together in times of need. I love this series. It's hilariously outrageous with memorable characters. See below for my reviews of each book in this set.
Book 1: Hosed Trope: Suspense, Second-Chance POV: Cassie and Ryan Steam Level: Slow Burn to toasty 4/5
I love Pippa Grant! This collaboration with Lili Valente was as much fun and Pippa Grant's other books. While not snort-out-loud funny, Hosed was still pretty ridiculous (but in a good way). If you're looking for a book that mixes outrageously memorable characters with suspense, humor and steam then look no further. Hosed has something for everyone.
Book 2: Hammered Trope: Enemies to Lovers, Bad Boy, Kidnapping, Accidental pregnancy POV: Jace and Olivia Steam Level: toasty at times 5/5
I adore Pippa Grant (and now Lili Valente) and her (their) outrageousness. I always know that when I pick up one her (their) books I'll be thoroughly entertained and Hammered was no exception. George Cooney continues to shine along with Chewpaca and the rest of the memorable characters in Happy Cat, GA. If you're looking for a romantic comedy full of animals that steal the show then pick up Hammered. You'll be glad you did.
Book 3: Hitched Trope: Second Chance, Enemies to Lovers, Fake Marriage POV: Hope and Blake Steam Level: Slow Burn to steamy 5/5
If you read the first two Happy Cat books Hosed and Hammered (especially Hammered) you get to see a glimpse into Hope and Blake's relationship. They fight like crazy with each other but get along with most everyone else. In Hitched we find out why and get to see them get together to save a very special animal and their marriage. I liked how Pippa Grant and Lili Valente did the conflict in this book as more external that bring Blake and Hope together, than tearing them apart. It was sweet and definitely needed - especially for Hope.
I adore both Hope and Blake. Hitched is sweet and funny and LOVED meeting Clint, Blake, Jace and Ryan's bada$$ Marine, baby brother as he scares misbehaving humans and animals straight (I cannot wait to read his story!). One of the many joys about reading this series (and all of Pippa Grant's books) is the animal names. We met Chewpaca in Hammered but he now has a friend whose name I'm not giving away but is brilliant. If you're looking for a sweet and hilarious romantic comedy with adorable animals and plotting, yet supportive townspeople then pick up Hitched. You'll find all that and more in this visit to Happy Cat, Georgia.
Book 4: Humbugged Trope: Holiday, Military POV: Clint and Noelle Steam Level: slow burn to steamy 5/5
Humbugged brings us back to Happy Cat, GA and is Clint’s story. Humbugged has all the ridiculousness I’ve come to expect from Pippa Grant and Lili Valente. The characters in the series are hilarious and Clint and Noelle’s book brings the holiday spirit.
Book 5: Happily Ever Aftered (bonus novella only in the box set) Trope: Single Dad, Nanny, Second Chance POV: Colin, Savannah Steam Level: Slow burn to warm 5/5
If you've gotten this far in the box set, you know who Savannah is. This is Cassie's sister's story. After her nasty divorce Savannah left the country, left the continent and became a nanny for Colin and his little girl. After some devastating news she flees England and comes home to Happy Cat where she is competing a game/treasure hunt to find true love. Her leaving wakes up Colin to his feelings toward Savannah and he's determined to win her. I loved how this novella is set up, seeing previous characters - both human and animals throughout the game and at each stop. Happy Cat works it's magic and you never know what will happen. I love that Savannah got her story and HEA.
I received an advanced copy this book (specially the novella) for free . This is my honest and voluntary review.
HOSED: Oh em gee. This book had me cracking up from the first page. It's one of the funniest books I've read and I cannot recommend it enough for fans of silly, lighthearted romantic comedies. Be prepared for an awesome animal "sidekick", a colorful cast of characters, experimental sex toys, dildo football, and a sweet and scorching second chance love story! Cassie is called in to take over her sister’s adult toy factory after Savannah runs off to England. (I mean, I would too if I caught my SO having a bit too much fun with the local farm animals..) However, her new next door neighbor is none other than Ryan O’Dell, the man who broke her heart in high school. He’s all grown up, hotter than ever, and a firefighter to boot. He also has a pet racoon named George Cooney, who tends to announce himself in the wildest way possible. With a touch of suspense and loads of over-the-top situations, this is a great entry into the Happy Cat series and still one of my favorite books ever!
HAMMERED: More Happy Cat shenanigans! Olivia is one of the sweetest people in Happy Cat. She’s cheerful and positive. Her attitude and beliefs fall squarely on the side of New Age, spreading love and good vibes where she can. She loves working for her friend’s adult toy factory. And.. she loves Jace O’Dell, the town bad boy. Jace is constantly running afoul of the law. He has a rather tumultuous relationship with the town’s beloved kindergarten teacher, Ginger. They’ve been off and on again so many times that it leaves heads spinning. And.. he is drawn to Olivia, despite feeling that he’s not good enough for her. Olivia is sure that a good heart beats in Jace’s chest, so when he and Ginger split up again she jumps at the chance to make him hers. One hot night later, and everything seems to be coming together nicely. But Ginger shows up the next morning with devastating news – she’s pregnant and Jace’s the father. Jace reluctantly agrees to marry Ginger because he wants to do the honorable thing for the baby. Olivia is completely certain that Jace is her soul mate, and she refuses to let the scheming Ginger have her man. So, with a little help from a friend, she hatches a plan to kidnap Jace before he can make the biggest mistake of BOTH their lives. As always, the cast of colorful characters flesh out the small town. A jealous deputy hell bent on harassing Jace. Princess, Olivia's overly affectionate pet hedgehog. And of course, George Cooney, the pet raccoon from Hosed, plays a large role. I love the people (and animals) of Happy Cat, and I look forward to reading further entries in the series. Definitely a fantastic read!
HITCHED: Blake O’Dell has a tiny little problem. Well, make that a BIG problem. Hope St. Clair, the woman he has a love/hate relationship with, has just begged him for a favor. She needs to get married IMMEDIATELY to fulfill the terms of her grandmother’s will, otherwise her jerk of a cousin will be able to claim her inheritance right out from under her. The inheritance that is her beloved animal shelter, and includes her favorite animal, Chewpaca the alpaca. Her cousin just wants to use Chewie as a stud and doesn’t care about taking him away from the place he’s called home for so long. Hope asks Blake to marry her just long enough secure Chewie and the shelter, and offers to help him get the permits he needs for his winery and tasting room. Sounds like a good deal, right? Maybe if Hope wasn’t already his ex-wife… A quickie Vegas wedding (and even quicker annulment) have made Blake a little bitter, but he can’t say no to the woman he still cares for. But the promise of another quick divorce doesn’t come to pass as Hope’s cousin had also married that same day, within minutes of their wedding – so now the game is on to prove that Hope and Blake really did marry for love. A fiction which Blake is coming to believe could and should be the truth after all. There are plenty of obstacles in the way; meddling in-laws, a sleazy private investigator, fear of commitment, matchmaking old folks, alpaca-napping, a troublemaking pet raccoon, adult toys, explosive auras, and maybe, just maybe, finding out they’re meant to be Hitched after all. This is a worthy entry in the Happy Cat series. It’s funny, but at the same time so sweet when Blake becomes determined to win his wife over for good. Hope’s love of animals is fantastic too and leads to some pretty hilarious moments (goat yoga, really?). If you liked the other books in the series, you can be confident that you’ll enjoy this one too.
HUMBUGGED: Clint O’Dell doesn’t look up to book boyfriends, book boyfriends look up to Clint O’Dell! Humbugged is the fourth entry in Pippa Grant & Lili Valente’s Happy Cat series, and I think it may be my favorite so far. It’s light and happy, sweet and swoony, with just the right amount of heat. Clint O’Dell, hometown hero – AND hometown Hottie (as acknowledged by most of Happy Cat, anyway) – has come home to be a temporary Marine recruiter. Noelle Alwyn, nursing a broken heart when her mall-Santa boyfriend of two years dumps her unexpectedly, finds herself the owner of a defunct flower shop (hey, we all know alcohol can lead to some of the worst.. or best.. decisions ever!) in Happy Cat. Leaving her life behind, she uses the shop to open a cupcake bakery. Clint is just amazing. He’s definitely a military man, but unlike some others I’ve read, he’s rarely broody or grumpy. He’s a prankster, optimistic and loves to have fun. He’s had a crush on Noelle since he met her and is absolutely determined to take some of the sadness from her eyes, preferably by getting her in his bed. Or in his brother’s barn. Or, really, anywhere she’s willing. He’s hell bent on protecting her, whether it be from an angry Christmas goose or from herself. Noelle’s father is a military man, and while she loves and respects him she absolutely does not want to be pulled back into that life. Plus, as hot as Clint is, he’s 7 years younger. She’s certain if they get involved that he’ll break her heart when he leaves. Add in that someone or something has it out for her bakery and the fact that her ex left her a bit sour on the whole Christmas thing and that’s all she needs to decide to keep her walls up. But when Clint offers her a chance to try being friends with benefits until the new year, giving into her attraction suddenly seems like a great idea. But what do you do when both parties are suddenly in quiet agreement that maybe this relationship doesn’t need an expiration date? I love the Happy Cat series, and this one is no exception. The town’s residents are up to their usual shenanigans – who knew senior citizens like to make naughty gingerbread cookies? I loved that Clint was turned into a meme by his friends and family; as a computer nerd that bit of pop culture made my heart happy. And yes, I agree that Clint O’Dell could beat Chuck Norris.. The animals are a joy, as always. A lost reindeer (who may or may not be one of Santa’s) who proves that Clint can do everything, including be a reindeer whisperer; George Cooney and his family, everyone’s favorite trash pandas; Princess the Hedgehog, and of course Nutquacker the Christmas Goose all join in to make Humbugged a very merry time. Expect to laugh and swoon all the way through this one. If you love holiday romances, or need something light and fluffy, I can’t recommend this enough!
HAPPILY EVER AFTERED: THANK YOU PIPPA AND LILI. This novella is exclusive to the box set and gives us the story of Savannah and Colin. For 3 years, Savannah has been nanny to Beatrice – and she can’t pretend that she isn’t in love with Bea’s dad…her boss…Colin. Stuffed shirt, VERY British, and with a soft, loving core most people don’t see. After one too many “almost” moments, Savannah knows Colin isn’t going to make a move, so she goes running home to Happy Cat to start over one more time. What she didn’t expect is for Colin and Bea to come running after her! A wacky treasure hunt and tons of misunderstandings are the order of the day, along with appearances from all the previous couples, their pets, and some of the more colorful characters of Happy Cat. Van and Colin’s HEA was well-deserved and the usual mix of sweet, funny and sexy. I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
I’ve really struggled to write a review of this book. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved it. Head over heels. Hosed is incredible. But it’s so hard to sum it up without giving away the plot or spoiling some incredibly funny moments that will make you laugh your butt off.
A virgin gamer geek who is scared of sex toys and the sexy fireman next door shouldn’t make a good couple, but they do. They’re a little bit nuts but they are so great together, it’s so fun to read.
So read Hosed if you love crazy authors with crazy plots and characters. Read this if you love characters who are oddly relatable (some sex toys are scary okay) with massive hearts. Read it if you want to read about a raccoon that has stolen everyone’s hearts (check out the Pippa Grant Spoiler Room on FB for some George Cooney love) with his crazy antics. Read this book if you want to read about an insane town legitimately named Happy Cat, with weirdo residents, a crazy ex and some probably quite upset sheep. Read this book if you want to laugh. Read Hosed because it’s so awesome it really can’t compare. And read Hosed cause it so needs a sequel.
HAMMERED:
Hammered is the second book in the Happy Cat series (still a hilarious name for a town) and it follows Jace and Olivia. But most importantly George Cooney, Princess von Spooksalot and Sir Pendleton Macavoy, Investigator at Large. That’s right, George has got some new friends in the form of a hedgehog and a taxidermied squirrel. If you’ve read the previous book you’ll know that George is a riot and saves the day. And he’s back at it again. We don’t see as much of him because Princess and Sir Pendleton take centre stage. Both of whom are Olivia’s pets on her journey to finding love with Jace whilst dodging a crazy girlfriend, hedgehog nappers, a creepy cop and the general zaniness of the Happy Cat residents. So I mean you could pretend you’re reading Hammered for Jace and Olivia who are actually the main characters. But let’s be real, you’re reading it for George Cooney, the real hero.
HITCHED:
Pippa Grant and Lili Valente are bringing us back to Happy Cat for the strangest wedding ever. No really. This is a marriage of convenience to save an alpaca named Chewpaca (side note, the animals in this series have the coolest names). Hope St Clair and Blake O’Dell have shown up in previous books with an antagonistic relationship at best. But Hope will do anything to save her alpaca from her cousin. Including marry the guy she hates. Again. And Blake will do anything to have a second chance with Hope.
To keep custody of Chewpaca either Hope or her cousin Kyle need to get married. And it’s first past the post. So, when they both show up to claim custody with new spouses in tow. It’s game on to prove whose marriage is the most real.
Convincing an entire town that they’re happily married isn’t as hard as they think it will be. It’s convincing the PI on their tail that they’re the real deal that’s the challenge.
Meanwhile, Blake has his own plan: Operation: Real Romance. He’s wanted a second chance for four years and he’s not going to allow a fake marriage or Hope’s inability to not destroy electronics stop him.
Naturally, the rest of the Happy Cat gang show up. Cassie and Ryan with George Clooney, Sticky Fingers and the raccoon babies. Jace and Olivia with baby Clover Dawn and their hedgehogs Princess and Duchess. We also get a sneak peek at Clive’s story with the cupcake lady (her name wasn’t mentioned), but oh boy I cannot wait.
Hitched follows in the same vein of Hosed and Hammered. The couple are hilarious, the side characters are fantastic, and the animals make you wonder what the heck is going on in the author's heads, and yours because you’re enjoying it too.
Blake and Hope are probably not the funniest pair in the series, it’s more their actions and what happens around them that creates the humour. Hope’s ‘wiping’ of electronics leads to some hilarious situations and an even funnier solution courtesy of Olivia.
Hitched is an incredible book and I can’t wait to fall in love with more characters and more animals.
HUMBUGGED:
Humbugged by Lili Valente and Pippa Grant is (I think) the last book in the Happy Cat series. It centres around Clint O’Dell, the final single O’Dell, and Noelle, the adorkable cupcake baker.
Noelle is new to town after a terrible breakup with a Santa resulted in her drunk buying the old florist shop. Side note is that an actual thing people do? Drunk buy stuff? I’m any case, she’s in Happy Cat to move on and not get close to anyone, cause then she could lose them. But after a run in with a goose (geese are scary people!) with Clint as her rescuer, she gets more involved with the town and tries to make this Christmas the best Christmas. But she doesn’t want to get involved with Clint.
Clint is back to town with a new Marines assignment. And he wants Noelle. Even though she’s older, he thinks she’s absolutely amazing. He’s convinced they could be great together, and he’s right.
“…if you’d kissed me the other day, you would have realized there was no chemistry. And we wouldn’t have wasted time talking about how we can’t make a dating relationship work. Which we already know is impossible, since I live in Happy Cat and you live in Happy Cat and there are virtually no obstacles standing in the way of us spending every night together if we wanted to. Doomed. Clearly doomed.”
But Clint is a marine, and this is something Noelle struggles with. Her dad is a marine and she’s seen how that life is and doesn’t want it anymore. Problem is, when Clint continues to come to her rescue when her bakery has break ins, her walls start to crumble. Because Clint is awesome and actually the hero of this book not George Cooney.
Shenanigans ensue because of course, sabotaging ghosts are walking around, farting cookies are made, reindeers are found and new O’Dells are welcomed into the world. And it’s an amazing end (I think) to an amazing series of crazy characters and pets.
HAPPILY EVER AFTERED:
Happily Ever Aftered is Savannah’s moment in the sun, after hearing so much about her sheep shagging ex, it’s nice to finally get to know the the girl who has had such a presence in Happy Cat. Colin is the fancy English guy Savannah has been nannying for since she left Happy Cat. After running back to her hometown when she can’t handle not having Colin anymore, she throws herself into one of Happy Cat’s traditions, a scavenger hunt where the winner finds love within a year each time it’s held. Colin meanwhile has chased her back to Happy Cat, and when he finally find her, decides to help her with the scavenger hunt, because he just wants to make her happy. It’s adorable. And along the way, we get to see the best hits of Happy Cat, the other couples and pets all show up to help them along the way. But of course, there is a happy ending, Colin and Savannah have their breakthrough and have an epic happy ever after, with a new weird pet, of course. It’s definitely sweet and just what you want to wrap this series up.
HOSED Hosed by Pippa Grant and Lili Valente was a hit from the start! Cassie, the computer geek, has returned back home to help run her sister's sex toy company when her sister Savannah takes a leave of absence. As a virgin, Cassie has to overcome a lot of her inhibitions about sex and sex toys. It doesn't help that the boy she crushed on in and who broke her heart in high school is living next door and is now a HOT fireman. Ryan O'Dell, the kind, sweet, generous, and heroic fireman that has plagued Cassie's thoughts and dreams since her first encounter with him back in town. Although every time Cassie sees Ryan she gets the feeling he wants her, she can't and won't allow herself to fall for him again. When it's revealed to Ryan that Cassie hates him for something that happened in high school, he stops at nothing to win her over. There is just something about this coding, computer geek he wants to know more about. In the meantime, someone is out to destroy Savannah's sex toy company and Cassie finds herself smack in the middle of a crazy investigation that points fingers at her and her sister. Throughout it all, Ryan is there to give Cassie and shoulder to lean on and a helping hand. Determined to get on Cassie's good side, Ryan pulls out all the stops, and eventually, Cassie is putty in his fingers. After all.... who can resist a god in a fireman's uniform. As things fire up between Cassie and Ryan so do various incidents that puts Sunshine Sex Toys factory in jeopardy. Who is behind trying to destroy Sunshine Sex Toys factory? Will the townspeople rally with or against Cassie? Ryan and Cassie were the perfect yin and yang. Their chemistry was off the charts and although their relationship was quirky, it was sweet, sexy, fun, and hot! I LOVED GEORGE!!! Who wouldn't want a raccoon as a pet? The story was perfection and I loved the suspense as well.
HAMMERED Hammered is book 2 in the Happy Cat series and another great collaboration between the author duo, Pippa Grant and Lili Valente. You never know what craziness Happy Cat has in store for you. Olivia is the town's spiritual guru. She would never hurt a soul, so when she accidentally almost does what better way to drown her sorrows than with some heavy drinking and the town's bad boy Jace O'Dell. Olivia sees more than his bad-boy reputation, and what she sees she really likes. One night of some heavy passion and she is hooked for good. Jace doesn't care that everyone in town thinks Olivia is a bit on the cooky side. What he sees is a sweet soul that goes far and beyond to help all living things she comes in contact with. Whether it be a friend, a hedgehog, or even a dead stuffed squirrel. Olivia is one of a kind and Jace finally feels like he has found his person. That is until his on and off again ex comes back into his life; and before he knows it, he is getting ready to say "I DO" to the wrong person. Knowing he has to do right by his ex, Jace works really hard to get Olivia out of his head and heart. Easier said than done. Can Olivia get to Jace in time to stop him from making the biggest mistake of his life, or will she lose him forever? I couldn't stop laughing throughout this book. I thought Pippa and Lili were so creative, including the hedgehog's obsession with the squirrel. Truly a genius idea! I also loved how different Jace and Olivia were but together they made sense. Well done ladies!
HITCHED Hitched, the third installment in the Happy Cat series was outrageously funny, but also heartfelt. Once Hope and Blake finally let their guards down and allowed the other's charm shine through, it was a no-brainer that their second time around would be much more rewarding and successful than the first. There were many obstacles that threatened their nuptials, but like a true team, they battled them together. What started as a convenience marriage became so much more as Hope and Blake fought together to keep the alpaca safe and in a loving home. What they learned along the way was that they could rely on one another to help the other get through the tough and bad times. I LOVED THEM!!!!! Oh and let's not forget our hysterical furry friends in Happy Cat. Pippa and Lili truly captured the charm of each animal which brought humor and laughter within the storyline. I also have a feeling we will be hearing a little bit more about our cupcake lady and Clint. I feel another love story brewing...... HUMBUGGED Humbugged is the 4th installment of the Happy Cat series by Lili Valente and Pippa Grant. Poor Noelle, the cursed cupcake baker who is the newest member in the Happy Cat community. It doesn't help that her bakery is haunted, but lucky for her, Clint O'Dell, the youngest brother of the O'Dell's is there to help her. He is ready to slay the ghost that haunts Noelle's shop and anything else that tries to harm Noelle. Clint has had his eye on Noelle since the time he saved her from the mewling and hissing cats at Hope and Blake's wedding. Clint is used to saving the day, as a Marine that is what he does day in and out. He knows that he wants Noelle, even if it's on borrowed time since he will be reassigned soon. That is why he agrees to a no-strings-attached relationship. Well, we will see if that is all Noelle and Clint are in the end. Will they be able to admit what they feel for each other before it is too late? Will there be a Christmas Miracle? Well done Pipa and Lili, well done!
HAPPILY EVER AFTERED What a great way to complete this box set than with Happily Ever Aftered! Savannah has returned home to Happy Cat. After her divorce, she wanted a new start, away from her past, and to start fresh. Falling into the lives of Beatrice and Colin as Beatrice's nanny, was the last thing she ever imagined she would be doing. However, after three years of her life spent falling deeply in love with her Boss, and feeling that not being reciprocated, Savannah decides to return home to Happy Cat. Never in her wildest dreams did she ever think that Colin would chase after her. Colin realized that he may have just lost the best thing that has come into his life since the passing of his wife. Stubborn English man thought that Savannah would stay around until he had enough courage to tell her how he felt. Savannah leaving finally snapped him out of his old ways which pushed him to take a leap in faith, chase after her in hopes that she too feels the same way. When he finally gets to Happy Cat, he finds himself running around town helping Savannah locate clues for the Happy Cat's Annual Love Treasure Hunt. In the end, will Savannah and Colin win the hunt and win LOVE? In the hunt for love, will they finally have the courage to tell each other how they feel? What a beautiful love story that had me laughing throughout the book. Colin's finally come out of his comfort zone thanks to Savannah and I really like what I see. He no longer is that stuffy English man, but a really funny and adventurous guy that is willing to do anything for those he cares about. Perfect ending!
WARNING!!! Do No Listen While Driving. Will most definitely cause hysterical laughter so hard you won't be able to see because your eyes will fill with laughter tears. I have NEVER laughed as hard as I did during this series!!
Welcome to the town of Happy Cat, where there is an adult toy factory in the middle of town, a resident Raccoon, George Cooney, an A-Hole Goose, Nutquacker, and a dozen other animal friends all as unique and quirky as the towns people.
Hosed-When Cassie is forced back home to Happy Cat to take over an adult toy factory for her sister, Savannah, who has gone Awol, she already isn't happy about it. Hammered-This is the story about Jace, Ryans brother and town screw up, and Olivia. Jace has just called it quits with his on again, off again girlfriend Ginger. He doesn't so much miss her as he misses the idea of her, Jace is ready to settle down and start his family, but Ginger was just not wife and mother material. On the night of his break up, he is tending bar at his local watering hole and having a talk with his friend Olivia. One thing led to another and left them naked and sated behind the bar, both of them feeling happier then they have in a while, Are they finally getting it right? The next day, Jace finds out Ginger is pregnant and its his baby, Jace being the upstanding guy he REALLY is and not the town sure up, he asks Ginger to marry him and decided to too keep what happened with Olivia behind the bar. But Olivia smells a rat, and she is set to find out the truth! along with her trusty side kick Hedgehog, Princess. The day of the wedding, Olivia knows she is so close to the truth, she is just trying to find the proof, so she does the only thing she can think of...Kidnap the groom. Someone is pregnant with Jaces baby, but it is not Ginger.
Hitched-Hope and Blake were married once before, and now here they are again needing to get married so Blake can get his winery off the ground and Hope can save her families farm and their prized breeding Alpaca, Chewpaca. After Hopes grandmother passes away, she finds it was written in the will that the first of the cousins to get married will have possession of the farm and, more specifically, the prized breeding Alpaca Chewpaca. Hope cares for the farm and the animals as if they are her children. she even got Chewpaca a friend, Too-Pac. Blake let Hope go once before, but he is not going to let her go this time. Now he just needs to let Hope know.
Humbugged- This is the final full story in the Happy Cat series and it follows Clint, the last and most mysterious and quiet of the O'dell brothers and Noelle, the baker. Noelle is either having a bout of bad luck, or she is cursed. Between delivers going bad to none of her recipes turning out correct, to someone vandalizing her shop and sabotaging ingredients she has enough on her hand. The last thing she needs is a younger man stepping in to try and help her...or does she? Clint is a marine, home for the holidays and has the whole time noticed. All the women, even the older ones, are on high alert and turning Clint into Mr. Meme. He just wants a quiet holiday home to meet all his brothers significant others and meet he nieces and nephews. When Noelle, literally, falls into his arms everything changes. Noelle had a military father, and she knows what it means to be a military family member, she is not interested in that life again. They both have a lot of big decisions to make AND find out who's been messing with Noelles bakery. Is it the town ghost??
The above stories were all brilliantly narrated by Jacob Morgan and Virginia Rose, and even though they did all 4 books, they brought a different aspect and personalities to all the different characters. There is also Bonus epilogues after each story from the point of view of the animals. Groege Cooney, Princes, Chewpaca, and Nutquacker that are some of the funniest things I have ever listened to ever. Jacob Morgan as the Alpaca has me laughing so hard I almost got into an accident, he was PERFECT!!! this entire series was absolutely perfect, Valente and Grant are a perfect writing pair and Morgan and Rose were the best choice for these characters. This has been added to my comfort folder when I need a comfort read, I will take a trip to Happy Cat.
This specific Box Set includes the Novella Happily Ever Aftered. If you listen to this whole series, you will hear about Savanah and learn she has become a nanny for a man named Collin and his daughter Beatrice in England, we also learn something about her that is not so happy. She decided to leave Collin and Beatrice and come home to Happy Cat and face the music of her divorce. She is ready to find love, so she signs up for the annual Love Scavenger Hunt. Legend has it that the winner generally finds their true love within the year. Little does she know, her walking out has kicked Collin in the butt and he realizes he can not live without her. He follows her all the way to Happy Cat with his Daughter in tow to put their family back together. Can he find her, while she hunts for love? and will he accept her as she is? listen to find out.
This was narrated by Shane East and Lili Valente. I love love love when Lili narrates a book she wrote because it just adds a little something to the characters personality, she knows these characters inside and out. Shane was great as the British Collin, while I still feel he needs a lot of work on his Female voice (especially American and during THOSE scenes) and his Kid Voice needs some tweaking, he definitely brought the emotion and heart to Collin that was needed as a widower father finding love again. This was a very nice wrap up for all the characters of Happy Cat and a perfect way to close this series. And yes, there was an animal epilogue.
Absolutely perfect novella to wind up this series. Happy Cat, GA. The fictional setting for these books, was absolutely adorable. The series was funny, sweet, swoony, angsty (in a good way), very light on the steam, kinda perfect.
We met Cassie first, the sister of Savannah, who just came out of a bad divorce... (sheep?). And we meet the O'Dell brothers. Ryan the firefighter first, then the rest.
Savannah returns in this one, after spending time abroad to clear her mind and soul of that mess she left behind, and the man who'd been her boss while she was away follows. The laughs were pretty plentiful in this one, and it's a perfect, short novella to wind it up.
I loved this box set it kept me laughing the stories where funny heartfelt steamy and so much fun to read and the animals made me smile I adore the bonus Epilog at the end from the animals point of view it was the perfect way to end each story
As part of the Happy Cat Box set release, I had the opportunity to review the new novella, Happily Ever Aftered. In addition to that review, I have also copied in my previous reviews for the rest of the books in the set.
Happily Ever Aftered #RomanticComedy #SmallTown #SingleDad 5 STARS This quick novella takes readers back to Happy cat for Savannah to finally get her HEA with Colin. I loved seeing Happy cat through Colin’s stuffy British eyes. He is charming and a little blown away by everything Happy Cat has to offer. His daughter, Beatrice, is adorable. Savannah wants her HEA so bad she almost doesn’t let Colin give it to her, but when they finally have a conversation, their love is obvious. I love the heat, the humor, the romance, and the town characters. I really appreciated how their HEA is perfect for them and super sweet. George Cooney and Nutquacker have cameos and we even meet a new animal along the way. I also loved the allusion to Peter Rabbit in the epilogue. A quick enjoyable read, this was the perfect cap on the Happy Cat book series.
Hosed This book was the funny ROM-com I expected from these two authors. Hot fire fighter, geeky virgin heroine, a sex toy factory, and a raccoon; this book couldn't help but be funny. The romance between the hot and sweet H and the smart and feisty h was developed without any contrived angst. Yes, there was a moment when they doubted each other, but as part of a larger story line. There was never any doubt in my mind that they would find their way back to each other because their love and heat was so strong. I loved Ryan and his heart, strong character, and desire/need to take care of others. He is a hot and sweet book boyfriend.
Hammered The chemistry between Olivia and Jace is magnetic. Olivia is a fun, sweet, kooky character, and I just loved her. Jace is trying so hard to be more that he doesn't realize that he is enough. The story brings us back to Happy Cat, GA and we get to know the O'Dell brothers a little better as a set up for the next two books. I love the supportive friendships that are developing between the ladies. The scene where Olivia kidnaps the groom is laugh out loud funny. No book where Pippa Grant is involved would be complete without a menagerie of animals and we are introduced to hedgehogs and alpacas but also get a fair amount of George Cooney. I really enjoyed this book.
Hitched Blake and Hope are two of my favorite characters from Happy Cat. Hope can destroy electrical things and Blake is frequently the one who end up fixing them. The characters are developed with their distinct personalities and motivations. Their chemistry is amazing! You can feel the magnetism that draws them to each other. The banked and potent emotions between the characters leap off the page. There are alpacas, raccoons, hedgehogs and more in the crazy, little town of Happy Cat. The O’Dell family relationship is strong, and the reader gets to know baby brother Clint a little better. I really enjoyed this book. The authors have a way with a phrase that makes a reader laugh out loud. I loved the hero of this book because he is just such an all-around good guy- and hot! He could rescue me any day. Go back to Happy Cat, Georgia, with this book, #3 in the series, and you will not be sorry.
Humbugged Clint and Noelle’s story makes up Happy Cat book # 4 but can read as a standalone. Clint is a marine and he IS all that. (The Clint O’Dell memes are priceless.) Noelle is recovering from some bad luck and is trying to start over with her business, Second Chance Cupcakes, in Happy Cat. There are shenanigans, animal chaos, and typical Happy Cat craziness throughout the story. Clint has the biggest heart and the happiest outlook ever. It is his choice to be happy and we can all learn from it. Noelle is trying so hard, but a series of events to sabotage her bakery are making it difficult. I love how protective Clint is of Noelle. I love the heat they create when Noelle decides to give him a chance. I really appreciated that Noelle understood the life of being family to active-duty personnel. I also really liked that these authors understand the military and do not make the silly mistakes you often see in military romance. An example of this is Clint’s reaction to new orders. He understood his commitment and there was no unrealistic whining about what he must do. (Ooh-Rah) I also really appreciate that Noelle makes educated choices when choosing Clint, knowing what that means to her personally. I liked this book a lot. Part of that is all about Clint and part of that is the zany comedy included. This book made me smile and it is an excellent addition to anyone’s holiday reading this season. Don’t miss this one.
Hosed I loved this! Ryan and Cassie were so sweet. When a family emergency, via the town sex toy factory brings Cassie back to her hometown, she’s forced to face some things she’d rather not—namely Ryan, her high school crush. Now, he’s all grown up, and even hotter than he was, and he’s a firefighter! She needs to avoid this man, and remind her body why she hates Ryan.
When Ryan sees Cassie, he’s reminded of the cute, nerdy girl from school. He really liked her, but she left town and moved to San Francisco to become a computer game engineer. Now, that she’s back, he’s determined to get to know her again. Her words say she’s not interested, but her body says something entirely different. Living in a small town again means everyone is in everyone’s business, and Ryan and Cassie are no exception.
Lili and Pippa had me cracking up with some of the town’s antics. The narration is wonderful. Jacob Morgan is one of my favorites, and he does a great job w/this. Can’t wait to see what’s up next in Happy Cat, Georgia.
Also, George Cooney was the cutest! I hope to get more from him.
Hammered I've been waiting for Jace's story, and it's finally here!! Jace is trying to work really hard, and be the man his brothers and family can be proud of. Yeah, he's had a few scrapes w/the law as a kid, but now he owns his own bar, and the inhabitants of Happy Cat love him...with a few exceptions. Jace just can't seem to catch a break.
Olivia is a free spirit, and relies on nature more than Western medicine. She loves all people and creatures, but she's got a huge crush on Jace. He's got his eye on her, but there are forces that come between them. Even though their personalities seem quite opposite, Jace and Olivia make a great pair, and she's just what he needs.
Lots of feels, laughs, and critters!
Pippa and Lili keep me on my toes w/the increasing number of adorable critters in this series. George Cooney is still my favorite!
Jacob Morgan is his usual, delicious self w/his great narration. Virgina Rose does a great job, as well.
Hitched What a wonderful series! Blake and Hope have been skirting each other for a long time. There’s definitely chemistry there, but turns out there’s quite a bit of history between them (no spoilers here). When Hope needs a husband to satisfy her late grandmother’s will, she turns to the one guy she gets along with the worst, but by nature is a good, dependable guy.
I loved this story, and I always enjoy going to Happy Cat. I feel like I know everyone there, and the pets there really should have their own series.
I listened to this book, and Jacob Morgan and Virginia Rose are great. Jacob’s many voice narrations are beyond awesome, and I highly recommend you listen to this book—at the very least the epilogue. You will not be disappointed.
Humbugged What a great way to wrap up 2019! Clint and Noelle's story was everything I hoped it would be, plus more I didn't realized I wanted. I've been waiting for Clint's story, and he may very well be my favorite O'Dell brother. I'll have to revisit the other guys before I confirm this statement. I'm in love w/them all!
Clint is that big tough meme-worthy Marine, with all the advertised toughness you'd expect. But he's also the sweetest, has such a huge heart, and is so protective of everyone, including Happy Cat's furry population. He and Noelle are made for each other, and I did some serious swooning, squirming, and laughing. This was such a great holiday story.
I always love visiting Happy Cat, with its wonderful array of animals and their quirky personalities. How could anyone not want to go there? Jacob Morgan and Virginia Rose do a great job with the narration. Jacob is one of my top narrators!
Happily Ever Aftered When Colin leaves London in search of his nanny to tell her he loves her, he and his daughter discover the town of Happy Cat. Savannah resigned because she’s in love with Colin, and went home to lick her wounds. Colin is trying to figure out how he can win Savannah’s heart, and finds himself in the middle of Happy Cat’s lovers scavenger hunt. Seeing how much this means to Savannah, he offers to team up with her to help her win, and hopefully can find her way to returning his feelings. They both get lots of help, but intended and accidental, and I remember why I love Happy Cat so much.
You get to see what everyone in the previous books have been up to, and that includes George Cooney and his fellow mischievous, beautiful creatures.
Lili Valente and Shane East perfectly narrate this cute, steamy, love quickie.
This is a place where everybody knows your name. No it’s not Cheers. It’s a place you’ll visit and never want to leave. It’s Happy Cat, Georgia! You’ll fall in love with these unique residents and nosey neighbors. By the down you’re done you’ll be saying things like Bless Your Heart and treating George Cooney like royalty. Yes, I said George Cooney.
This is a set of books I’ve reviewed individually in the past with a new novella added to the collection. You don’t want to miss out on them.
Hosed
From the opening sentence you know you’re in for a good time! Ryan O’ Dell, fireman! Need I say more. Cassie Sunderwell, virgin, nerd, gamer. Erotica store and a traveling raccoon with a pretty famous name and a mystery. Put them all together you’ve got something that sounds really bizarre but pretty darn funny. Well you would be absolutely correct. These authors write stories that are a little far out but so funny you will split your seams laughing. I don’t do spoilers because you need to experience this book for everything it is and that is hilarious! You’re in for a really hot, good, funny, sweet time.
Hammered
Jace and Olivia. This is romantic comedy at it’s finest. Two different ends of the spectrum that makes for a whole lot of fun and whimsy. This is grumpy meets eternal sunshine.
Hitched
This book put a constant smile on my face from the opening page until the last page. Watching the evolution of Blake and Hope’s relationship just made me feel so good. What I really found the most revealing and the saddest, happiest and yet truest part of this book is how the people who are in our lives affect us so deeply, good and bad. Many a truth is found in comedy. It’s how light is shed on issues that are real. It makes us look at ourselves in a way that doesn’t hit as hard. This was so evident in this story. I don’t do spoilers because I feel it’s not fair to the author. What I will say is, my opinion of Hope vastly changed as the story unfolded. Once again proving the saying, “things aren’t always as they appear”. However, that being said those things being hidden can vastly influence us, mentally, physically and emotionally beyond our control. Also, when we have love and support it can help change the course of our lives but ultimately we have to change our own lives.
On the surface Blake and Hope appear to be oil and water...they don’t mix. Fortunately, with time, patience, a good plot and a lot of laughs things progress and their relationship at times is electrified. We are also lucky enough to be reacquainted with some of our favorite characters (human and animal) from previous books from Happy Cat. That always puts a smile on my face, The laughs are plenty, the situations unimaginable and the town love is rampant. There’s no place else I’d rather read.
So treat yourself to enjoy some over the top situations and some more laugh lines on your face. You may even learn about some things you didn’t know could actually happen. So it’s an educational books as well as a romcom. Enjoy!!!!
Humbugged
This holiday story will definitely keep you on your toes and pull at all the right heartstrings. Happy Cat is as happy as ever. You’ll still have your crazy and all the wacky love. This time we get to meet Clint O’Dell, the man, THE MEME, the Legend, The Marine. He’s fun, smart, flirty, strong and is a man on a mission. Enter, Noelle, the woman trying her best to be positive, change her attitude and is determined to stay put for a change. Well, hijinks ensue, the flirt is on, attraction is high, the cupcakes are baking meanwhile there are mysteries to be solved and resolutions and conditions to be met. You will fly through this story as fast as George Cooney and Honk. Not sure who these are? Read this book and find out. You won’t be sorry. That is, unless you’re opposed to smiling throughout this story. Then you really are Humbugged and you need this book more than you know! So have a holly, jolly time in Happy Cat!
Happily Ever After
This is the story of Colin, Savannah and the ever lovable Beatrice. We’ve been waiting for Savannah’s story and it doesn’t disappoint. This is the story of you can run but you can’t hide mixed with you don’t know what you have until you lose it. I don’t do spoilers. No need to ruin your enjoyment. I’ll just say it’s the perfect way to wrap up this series.
Do yourself a favor and read this boxed set. You deserve to feel good!
These are four of my favorite hot romantic comedies by two of my favorite authors, in one AWESOME boxset that should be in EVERY bookshelf everywhere! The world would be a much better place to live if we could all just move to Happy Cat! Until I met George, I didn't even have a favorite trash panda! He opened my eyes to SO many internet memes LOL. Seriously, the four best romantic comedies I have ever read in one box set, its a MUST for any book lover who loves a lot of giggles and snorts with their fiery passion. Hosed: SO VERY FUNNY! Seriously LOVED this one! I've sung Ms. Grant's comedy genius praises before, but these two together are just outstanding! I smiled or outright laughed through every page in this really sweet romantic comedy! I'm crushing on Ryan for sure but I've definitely got a girl crush on his nerdy little pixie Cassie as well. She's so sweet and tenderhearted but also quite the badass (which is a trait I LOVE in most of Pippa's heroines, no damsel in perpetual distress in her work) and she also asks for help when she needs it, which seems like an odd quality to look for in a character, but it makes her more real to me. I'm also hoping to find a George, but I think all the raccoons in my area are jerks. I loved their story, loved the ending, and I'm hoping that we get more stories from these two, maybe about Ryan's brothers? Or maybe about Van's adventures in Europe? Either way, more Happy Cat ladies! Hammered: That settles it! I'm retiring to Happy Cat! (Don't I wish?!?) Everything about this book was amazing! The humor had me laughing out loud (much to the startled fright of my Not-So-Happy cats) and the animals made it even more enjoyable. Plenty of drama, a lunatic baby-mamma-to be and finding something in themselves along the way, Olivia and Jace had me at hello... Kidding but found their love so refreshing and honest, it really moved me and I look forward to another visit to Happy Cat in the near future! Hitched: These two authors together are really too funny for their own good! Seriously, this book was my favorite Happy Cat book to date, and all because of Hope! Ok, and alittle because of Chewpacca and George Cooney, but mainly mostly because of poor Hope! Her roadblock to love was one SHE put there, good on Blake for seeing the truth and hanging in there until she could figure it out! I loved her, her sweetness, her big heart, and her ability to short out electrical equipment made for an amazingly heartfelt, riotously funny, smoking hot read! All the bonus points too for the hilarious animal antics and Blake's general hotness, not to mention the peeks we had at both our other favorite Happy Cat couples! I hope we get Clint's story to wrap it all up! Keep it up ladies, can't wait to see what the last single O'Dell boy standing will wind up with, though I think we got a peek! Humbugged: I didn't know how much I needed Happy Cat in my life right now til I read this book! Then I remembered why I so want to move to this fictional land that Pippa and Lili have created. It so warm and lovey filling you with ALL the feels you would expect from a sweet marine and a Christmas baker, but they are SO MUCH more! I'd pack up and move TODAY just for the animal hijinx alone! Wonder if Hope needs an assistant, lol. Anyway this is the story of the youngest O'Dell brother Clint and the hot older new baker Noelle. Totally my jam with the small age gap and the culinary peeks, even if I wasn't already in love with Happy Cat, which I totally was. This was a great wrap up for the group as well as a fitting story for these two who learned about taking risks. You can read this as a stand alone, but come on, why would you when Happy Cat is so awesome?!? Brighten up your weekend with this amazing book and explore the unique glimpse into small town life in Happy Cat Land, you'll enjoy your visit! Happily Ever Aftered: OMG what a great way to wrap up our time in Happy Cat! I wondered if we'd ever get Savannah's story and am so happy with her ending! And I MIGHT miss George the most (but don't tell Nutquacker, I don't want her to tell her geese friends and get attacked), he's my favorite trash panda and I was happy to see an update from his happy little family. It was a wonderful trip to Happy Cat and I hope the authors revisit it in future books!
This box set will have you laughing, swooning, and yes looking for your partner to read the sexy parts too. Author Pippa Grant took all the Happy Cat series and boxed it together and tied it up with a bright bow which is Savanah's story finally!
Each book in this series has a hot male and a strong female. But not only that we have to most fun with the critters who have human-like qualities.
Hosed (Book 1)- OMG when I heard that Pippa Grant and Lili Valente were teaming up to write a book together I thought this is like the perfect combo and boy was I right. Hosed is not only funny as all get out it has some of the best romance you could ever find between the pages of our eReader as well. I have no idea where these ladies come up with their ideas but let me just say I want a George not as a pet but as another grandkid. Wonder if I can pass him off in my complex? I know you are scratching your head but when you read this book you will understand completely what I am talking about. Hot firefighter and sexy little nerd girl take over the town by storm and what is funny is they don't actually try to do it. It just happens well when Sunshines and... well let me just say if you are over 18 and want to laugh your a$$ off while having the best RomCom you have read in a while...Grab this boxed set.
Hammered (Book 2)-Jared is the town's hot bartender and Olivia is the quirky girl in town. You know the one person you can depend on to dance around naked in the moonlight or moon-bath with her top off. She is the one person in town with the biggest heart and she can talk to the animals. Yes, like Dr. Doolittle, I swear. She sees things that others do not and I promise you in spite of her quirkiness, she is one beautiful woman. And yes that is seen by all... Humans and animals alike. Hammered shows us the good, bad, and yes all the amazing things out in the world. It had me laughing so hard I was crying in parts. Once again I got kicked out of bed for reading a Pippa Grand and Lili Valente book into the wee hours because I kept waking up my husband, laughing. Take a trip to Happy Cat and fall in love or at least meet Chewy, Princess, and George.
Hitched (Book 3)-Blake and Hope were married one night previous and annulled the next day ( hey it's in the blurb) so we know they have HISTORY. So who does Hope turn to when her grandmother passes and the will is read and she needs help quickly to save the farm and her beloved animals especially Chewpaca the alpaca. There is so much in this book that has me smiling and laughing out loud. From Hope's sizzling touch to Blake's ability to calm her down by a simple kiss or hug. I love how our authors have shown the love between the two characters without being mushy and honestly without one of them even realizing they are in love at all. Happy Cat is a town that one could live in and raise a family... of humans and animals and they would all feel safe and loved.
Humbugged (Happy Cat Book 4) I will say of all 4 books, this one IS my favorite by far. Clint O'Dell is one sexy Marine, home on leave who just happens to be a Dr. Doolittle of sorts. Clint can talk to the animals like the goose wearing a nutcracker outfit named Nutquacker (yep) that loves to chase the cupcake girl Noelle Alwyn. Now Noelle owns a bakery that I swear is haunted or jinxed one. Don't worry friends George the trash panda, Chewy the llama, a group of goats, and one of the newest and my favorite in this book Don Juan a Reindeer. Author, Pippa Grant much have a red phone directly to Santa to get all the Intel and funny lines she shares with us in Humbugged. She gives us love, laughter, and oh so much more. This is one of those books that can be read and re-read all year long but will be a RomCom Christmas Classic for years to come.
Happily Ever Aftered (Novella) Finally we get to read Savannah's story. Savannah has been present in every Happy Cat book but across the pond as a nanny for Colin as his adorable daughter. This book is the perfect ending for his wonderful series set in Happy Cat. And yes George is there front and center to say hi and bye to all of the fans. This box set is one you will read and re-read for years to come.
Great collection of fun romcoms! Hosed A match made in romance readers heaven - Pippa and Lili getting together and giving us this amazingly funny, steamy rom-com with all the feels and even a suspense element. Meet the protagonists: Cassie a nerdy game developer, who comes back to her home town to run her Sister’s business - a sex toy factory, while said sister is traveling and rediscovering herself after a divorce and Ryan, the beefcake firefighter, Cassie’s high school crush and current neighbor; and let’s not forget George Cooney, Ryan’s pet raccoon, who plays integral part in this hilarious small town adventure. I am a big fan of Pippa’s and Lili’s work and their collaboration on this book is just perfect! I hope they continue to work together and bring us more stories from Happy Cat . Hammered Another great story by the “Dream Team” of Pippa Grant and Lili Valente. In Hammered we get to visit in Happy Cat again and witness another one of the O’Dell brother find his HEA. Jace finds himself in less than an ideal love/life situation as he tries to do the right thing. Olivia is so endearing and sweet, but also regarded by some as a bit eccentric due to her believes and sunny disposition. As with many Pippa’s books, there are some adorable and unusual animals taking an integral part in the story as well as some of the citizens of Happy Cat we met in Hosed. This book is a fantastic read, if you like your romance to be funny, swooney, steamy and with a bit of a suspense, you are guaranteed to love this laugh out loud masterpiece!
Hitched Another laughed out loud hilarious trip to Happy Cat, the home of our favorite book characters, may they be human or of the four legged animal variety. Hitched is book 3 in the series, however can be read as a standalone. In Hitched, Hope St. Clair finds herself in a desperate need of husband to save her rescue alpaca from becoming her cousin’s property. Blake, who has bern working on getting his winery off the ground and is in need of liquor license for his tasting room, reluctantly agrees to marry Hope, to help her out. As with all Happy Cat books we get a hilarious inside into a small town life and shenanigans of well meaning busybodies; we visit with beloved animal characters we met in previous stories and catch up on our favorite couples from Happy Cat. Both Blake and Hope have been harboring feelings for each other since high school but circumstances were always in the way of their possible future together. Will this time be different? Will the marriage of convenience finally open their eyes and hearts and give way to happily ever after?
Humbugged “It’s where I got struck by lightning the first time.” My eyes go wide. “The first time? Oh my god, Clint. You got struck by lightning again?” He gazes down at me, as serious as I’ve ever seen him, and tucks a lock of my hair behind my ear. “Yeah, I did.” “When?” “When I met you.” Humbugged is our 4th trip to Happy Cat, GA but can be absolutely read as standalone. The youngest O’Dell brother - Clint, a Marine, gets assigned as a Recruiter to the area surrounding his hometown and is welcomed and embraced by all as the hero he is. Noelle, a bakery owner, has moved to Happy Cat after getting a bargain price on a store front on Craig’s list. She is looking to forget her most recent relationship and get a fresh start. She opens Second Chance Cupcakes bakery and seems to be plagued with mishaps and bad luck where her business is concerned. Is there a resident ghost in her shop or is something more sinister going on? Clint has been attracted to Noelle since first meeting her and Noelle has been fighting her attraction for Clint since he first rescued her from smashing her cake delivery. In true Pippa and Lili fashion, hilarious shenanigans ensue, we get to visit with all of our favorite Happy Cat residents, meet a few new animal rescues and witness George Cooney’s mischievous family in action. Is Clint going to be able to win Noelle’s heart and save her business? Is Noelle going to take a chance with Clint? Pick up your copy of Humbugged to find out! If you like your romcoms funny, sweet, swooney and steamy, you are guaranteed to LOVE this book!
Happily Ever Aftered Great addition to Happy Cat saga where Savannah finally finds her happily ever after! Sweet, funny, romantic novella with all of our favorite Happy Cat residents and pet/animal characters. I definitely recommend this boxed set to all romcom enthusiasts!
Beautiful, heartwarming and full of hilarity, Happy Cat is my new favorite past-time. The Happy Cat Series is one to keep and re-read many times over. The fun starts in a quiet southern town that is up in arms about a sex toy factory’s presence in their neighborhood. In book one, Cassie is the shy gamer girl that has to return to the town where she grew up to help straighten out her sister’s crazy life. She is completely out of her element when she is asked to step in and run her sister’s factory. To make matters worse, she finds that her neighbor is the boy that crushed her heart in high school. Ryan is not a boy anymore, but a hot firefighter now, and is determined to make her his. Complete with a crime fighting raccoon, and an explosion of sex toys, the story will melt your heart and your panties all at the same time. This is the perfect read for a cold winter day. The second (Happy Cat) O’Dell brother’s book and it is every bit as funny, feisty, and satisfying as the first book, Hosed. It brings on the laughter, and reading this story will just make you feel literally make your face hurt (from smiling). Jace O’Dell is the hot as sin bad-boy bar owner. He is misunderstood and judged unfairly, and understands the eclectic and peace-loving Olivia more than anyone in the town. She is light and innocence and everything that he feels that he doesn’t deserve. Olivia works for the town’s sex toy factory. She is good to everyone that she meets, but knows that most people see her as “different”. However, she is also accident prone and always seems to find herself in trouble. After a town “incident”, she prepares to drown her sorrows in a drink or two. One drink leads to two, and two leads to a night of passion that she just can’t forget. The universe has delivered her soul mate, and then just as quickly rips it away. Each O’Dell Brother’s book is even better than the last. In the third book, Blake and Hope are feisty, stubborn and just plain wonderful. Of course, the book wouldn’t be complete without their famous four-legged co-stars and sex-toy bingo. Blake is Hope’s only chance at saving her beloved animals and she will do whatever it takes to keep them safe. Even if it costs her heart. Blake has never stopped loving Hope and won’t let her get away a second time. They are electric and when the stars align, there is no stopping the universe from showing them that love really can conquer all. In book four, you meet Clint and Noel. This book, Humbugged, is my new favorite Christmas tradition. I promise that spending the holidays with the characters in the town of Happy Cat is the most fun that you’ll have all season. There are gingerbread mishaps, animal hijinks, and even a ghost of Christmas Present. Topping that is a warm and fuzzy romantic and insanely funny romance that you will want to snuggle into over and over again. Finally, we get the long-awaited story about Savannah. What an absolutely fantastic way to bring the Happy Cat Series together than with the story of Savannah and Colin. After all, the Happy Cat series all started with Savannah’s departure. This novella was an absolute delight to read. Savannah and Colin are sweet, swoony and a little bit crazy. Savannah is determined to win the treasure hunt and earn her chance at love. Colin realized too late that the only one he needs is Savannah. When he goes around the globe to get her back, their adventures lead them back to the zany and hilarious town of Happy Cat. With a little help from our favorite four-legged friends, Colin is ready to lay his heart on the line. That last chapter will also make your heart melt into a giant puddle of happy!
Hosed ~ When I found out two of my favorite authors were teaming up to write a book I was super stoked! This book is laugh out loud funny which I was so looking forward to because Grant and Valente rock at romantic comedies. I laughed from beginning to end. This book also packs the heat and heart. It also had a little suspense they kept me on the edge of my seat. The story had me hooked as well. I have to say though George Cooney stole the show. I loved him so much. Plus the scenes with him and Ryan melted my heart. I really hope there is much more collaboration between Grant and Valente in the future.
Hammered ~ This the second book in the series. I loved revisiting Happy Cat. I also loved that George Cooney makes appearances in this one. Plus we get to know adorable Princess. I love how these books have adorable yet funny animals in them. I had a feeling Olivia was going to be a favorite character. I love her inherently kind heart. Her love nature and animals reminds me of my brother. I loved the humor in this book. I can't tell you how many times I laughed while reading this book. Along with the humor there are plenty of feels and the epilogue is jam packed with that. The moments of angst left me on the edge of my seat. A well rounded book with wonderful characters.
Hitched ~ This is the third book in the series and I just fall in love with Happy Cat all over again. Those O'dell boys are just so swoon worthy. The thing I kept thinking while reading this one is I want a Blake for myself. To have someone fight for you and your relationship as he does be still my heart. I loved Hope. She reminds me of my brother a little with her love of animals and how passionate she is about saving them. The animals in this series are one my favorite things about it. They have such personalities they just make you happy. This book had me hooked from the beginning and didn't let me up for air until I was done. The characters just pull you in and get you so invested in their story. I'm intrigued by the last O'Dell brother who is next to fall. I'm so looking forward to the next book in the series. I can't recommend this book and this series enough. It packs the feels and heat, but you will be laughing the whole way through. It's a book that is a make you feel good book and puts you in a good mood.
Humbugged ~ I loved this book so much. You can't get any better then Happy Cat at Christmas. Clint has moved into the spot of my favorite O'Dell brother. That man is one dreamy book boyfriend. I just love the way he is with Noelle. Like all the books in Happy Cat I loved the humor. This book had me laughing from start to finish. That's what I love about a book by Lili Valente and Pippa Grant I know I'm diving into a book that will put a smile on my face. You can't have this series of books without some mischievous animals. That just adds a whole layer of greatness to the book. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed seeing Clint's brothers and their ladies enjoying their HEAs. That was a huge highlight for my especially for Olivia. This is a perfect book to read during the holiday season!
Happily Ever Aftered ~ I've been waiting for Savannah's story! This everything I've been waiting for. It's a novella so I wish it were longer. I loved being back in Happy Cat. I so love the residents. Plus two words, George Cooney! This book had the humor I so look forward to. I liked getting to know Colin after hear about him from afar. I enjoyed this as well because he is a single dad. He was out of his comfort zone a bit, but love is worth it. If you're a fan of the series like me this novella is a must read!
Audio Review What a great box set with wonderful, funny stories.
Hosed
10 Stars!!!! Where to begin, this is the best audio. I also read this book so I loved the story but to listen to these narrators was even better. Jacob Morgan's voice was perfect for Ryan O'Dell and so was Virginia Rose for Cassie Sunderwell.
What do you get when you combine a specialized Toy Company, a loveable fury raccoon named George Cooney that loves to pillage, a smoldering hot Fireman that wants to protect everyone he loves and a southern town split down the middle as to the validity of the "toys" produced at the Sunshine Toy Company? You get lots of laughs, a mystery, hot romance and many many feel goods.
Hammered
It was so much fun to return to Happy Cat Georgia and catch up on the fine folks that live there. So funny. This is Jace and Olivia's somewhat unromantic hookup. Poor Jace, he has been in trouble most of his life and his long term on again, off again girlfriend Ginger won't seem to let him move on with his life. Just when he finds the perfect person for him, Olivia, wouldn't you know that the universe swoops in and kicks him in his sensitive parts or so it seems. Thank goodness Olivia has other plans.
This is the funniest series. If you haven't listened to Book 1 you will want to. It's so good too. These characters both human and furry are laugh out loud, pee your pants comedy. Taking Lili Valente and Pippa Grant and pairing them up to write this book/series is a powerhouse of hilarious. Not to give any of the story away but I just love George, Princess, and Chewpaca. They could write a story about the fur babies told from their perspectives and I would love to read it. The great thing about this book is it's not only so funny and so well written but it has a unconventional love story that is perfect for Jace and Olivia. I absolutely loved it.
Virginia Rose and Jacob Morgan were perfect at Jace and Olivia. I loved listening to their voices. Spot on with the timing and their delivery.
Hitched
This dynamic duo has done it again with book 3 in this series. This gives us the hate/love story of Blake and Hope.
Hope is doing all she can do to not short out or fry all the electronics around her. Seems she is a "wiper" and tends to give off charged electrical energy especially when she is upset. It tends to be Blake to the rescue when she does but he always makes it worse for her. Why can't they just get along, oh right they have a past, a secret past that is fixing to come to light.
This audiobook is so funny and heart melting and full of our favorite animals either saving the day or creating havoc. No spoilers here, just know Blake actually loves Hope and she him and the love Gods have put them together for a reason.
Virginia Rose and Jacob Morgan are wonderful narrating this great story. So enjoyable to listen to.
Humbugged What do a crazed goose, a deranged reindeer, and a cupcake ghost have in common? They are all tormenting Noel and Clint has to save the day or days as it is.
Noel moves to Happy Cat to start over and is determined to find her happy self. When odd things keep happening to her and it seems there is more at play than just coincidence the happy Marine, Clint is all too happy to step up to help her.
I love this series and this one gives us the Christmas spirit along with the mischievous George and all the other animals of Happy Cat along with some new friends. This is full of laughs, love, and mysteries.
Bonus Happily Ever Aftered There is a bonus novella at the end that is oh so sweet.
4.5 stars - Quirky, fun, and sex positive. I listened to this book on Audible and thought both narrators did an excellent job. Jacob Morgan’s Ryan O’Dell was the perfect happy-go-lucky leading man who went out of his way to think outside the box while wooing Cassie. Ryan’s pet raccoon, George Cooney, was front and center throughout the book, and I loved guessing where he would pop up next. Cassie really came into her own over the course of the book, becoming more comfortable with her sister’s sex toy company and with the notoriety running it brings in a small town I’m excited to return to Happy Cat for the next book in the series.
Hammered
4 stars - I listened to this book on Audible. I went into this book ready to witness a kidnapped groom and was disappointed at how far into the book I was before that happened. After listening to Hosed, I rushed to listen to this story to see what would happen with Jace and how Olivia fits into his story. Olivia is nothing like me which makes it hard for me to connect with her character, however, I loved how she always saw Jace as a good man instead of the bad boy he had been branded since his teenage years. Watching Jace struggle against his reputation most if the book broke my heart and made me want to give him a hug and tell him how proud I was of him, so I was happy to see Olivia always in his corner. Finally, this story continued the trend the first book started with George Cooney, putting a hedgehog named Princess in a guest starring role. I’m excited to see what other animals get their time in the spotlight.
Hitched
4 stars - I listened to this book on Audible. The small glimpses of Blake and Hope in the previous book, did NOT prepare me for their story. I’m in awe that Pippa Grant & Lili Valente figured out a way to write an entire romance novel based around the ownership of an alpaca. This allowed us to see what lengths Hope was willing to go to keep Chewpacca, the alpaca, and the lengths Blake was will to go for Hope. I loved finding out about their history and the way they bantered back and forth. & the best part…we finally got to really meet Clint, the absentee Marine baby brother, who I can already tell is going to be a favorite.
Humbugged
5 stars - I listened to this book on Audible. I probably shouldn’t say this since he is already a living meme, but Clint is my favorite O’Dell brother. This book had everything I wanted: a smart sassy heroine, a swoon-worthy hero, a mystery to solve, fun family/friend interactions, a hurdle to be crossed that wasn’t caused or exacerbated by miscommunication, and plenty of funny moments, including some animal antics. Happy Cat has been such a fun place to visit and this book was a nice culmination of everything in the previous books.
Happily Ever Aftered
5 stars - I listened to this story on Audible. Charming little tale about a couple whose love had grown over the course of years finally admitting how they feel. I really enjoyed how the authors gave Colin and Savanah a backstory, with several mentions of things that had happened in the past, instead of making their relationship seem rushed simply because it was a novella. Shane East had the perfect British accent and Lili Valente embodied the character of Savanah. I loved getting to see all my favorite Happy Cat residents again, both human and non-human, and know I will be listening to these books again and again.
Come visit the zany town of Happy Cat with its quirky townspeople and interesting wildlife. This box set includes the original series PLUS a bonus novella (Savannah gets her HEA!). These rom coms come packed with laughs, love, friendship, hijinks, a bit of "who dun it" drama, and the craziest, smartest animals you will ever "meet".
Hosed - Hot Firefighter. Shy Gamer Virgin. A Pet Raccoon - George Cooney - that loves shiny objects. Small Town USA. Sex Toy Factory. Dildo Football (yes, Dildo Football!). Crazy cast of characters! This book has a little bit of everything. If you are looking for a light, fun read, look no further! Pippa and Lili take you to the town of Happy Cat where Cassie is temporarily taking over running her sister's sex toy factory when she had to leave town. She happens to live next door to Ryan - the guy that broke her heart back in high school. However, sparks fly when they run into each other again. Enjoy the laughs, sexy times, and love in this book.
Hammered - Jace and Olivia are the perfect example of opposites attract. He's the grumpy hero that thinks he is the black sheep and she is sunshine and positive energy. The Happy Cat antics continue in this book. Not only do we get more George Cooney (that silly trash panda from book 1) but now we have Sir Pendleton and Princess von Spooksalot. While the description can throw some people off (who leaves their pregnant girlfriend at the altar?) that is NOT what this book is about! This IS a Rom Com and you will fall in love with Jace and Olivia as well. And there are a couple characters that are VERY easy to hate... "Every day’s an opportunity to wake up to the miracle of being present in your own life!"
Hitched - Each book, I fall a little deeper in love with Happy Cat. This one features Blake as the hero. "I grew up with three brothers. I’m probably the most touchy-feely of all of us, but I’m still a dude raised with dudes. All the O’Dell boys are a touch feral.” Hope is the animal-whispering heroine that refuses to turn those animals over to her money-hungry cousin. Who gets married for a llama? They do, of course. We quickly learn there is more to the story between these two. More animal antics and craziness in this small town make this rom com another winner!
Humbugged - How can you not fall in love with the crazy characters, animals, and antics in Happy Cat? This series conclusion with Clint and Noelle was wonderfully wacky and full of love, community fellowship, and friendship. “Clint O’Dell doesn’t try to be perfect, perfect tries to be Clint O’Dell?” What other characters can pretzel his three brothers without missing a beat AND has memes on the towns Instachat? Clint is a larger than life Marine who is the perfect fit for Noelle - a gal trying to start her life over in Happy Cat but runs into a string of what she thinks is bad luck. Don't miss out on the one-liners, Client memes, and the O'Dell family!
Happy Ever Aftered - This fun novella features Savannah getting her HEA while doing the town treasure hunt for love. There is a surprise or two along the journey! I loved getting revisit our favorite "Happy Catters".
Hosed is entertaining, charming and fun from beginning to end. This collaboration between Pippa Grant and Lili Valente is absolutely fantastic. Replete with comical, laugh out loud moments including a raccoon named George, a little bit of suspense, as well as hot and sexy escapades, Cassie and Ryan’s story is absolutely perfect. I didn’t want to stop reading and certainly wasn’t ready to leave the community of Happy Cat behind. But with so many wonderful characters, I certainly am hoping for more from Ms. Grant and Ms. Valente...hint, hint. Bravo ladies! Very, very well done, indeed!
Hammered brings us back to Happy Cat and the second collaboration between authors Pippa Grant and Lili Valente. It is the story of Jace and Olivia, two souls that were bound together from the moment their eyes met. But when Jace’s on and off again ex interferes, things get a little bit crazy. With the return of the cast we met in the first book of this series, as well as George the raccoon and a hedgehog named Princess, the outrageous fun and, to be honest, a bit more quirkiness, more escapades ensue. The storyline moved a bit slow for me in the beginning, hence the 4 stars; but I enjoyed all of the characters and loved the romance, as well as the bit of suspense and fantastic finale to Jace and Olivia’s story which made it all worthwhile.
Hitched is my absolute favorite in the Happy Cat series. Honestly, after meeting Blake and Hope previously, I anticipated that I was going to go completely gah gah for their story, and I definitely did. I fell in love with Blake and Hope right from the start, and I wasn’t ready for their story to end. Some of the crazy animal antics in the other books were a bit much for me, but Hitched had just enough and made me giggle. Blake’s devotion to Hope and need to protect her vulnerability made my heart swoon over and over again. Ms. Grant and Ms. Valente have definitely achieved a higher level of greatness and entertainment with this fantastic addition to their collaboration of romance in Happy Cat, and I look forward to more.
Humbugged is book 4 in the fantastic collaborative creations of Pippa Grant and Lili Valente. We’re back in Happy Cat revisiting old friends and meeting new ones. Though it’s hard to pinpoint a favorite couple, Clint and Noelle are a magical addition to this entertaining, fun and quirky series. Complete with crazy animal antics, a little supernatural happenings and a fresh, sweet new romance, these two ladies are tops on my must read list. I can just imagine them laughing together as they create over and over again such enjoyable and delightful characters and tales that always make me feel so at home like I’m returning to visit old friends. Bravo ladies! I can’t wait for more.
Happily Ever Aftered brings us back to the town of Happy Cat and the romance between Savannah and Colin. This is a fast paced novella but oh so sweet and fun. This return to Happy Cat’s couples from the past and all the entertaining chatter between the furry critters who reside there as well will leave you smiling. Pippa Grant and Lili Valente’s collaboration is fun and such an enjoyable read. I Loved it.
In a town full of nosy gossips Cassie finds herself in charge of her sisters somewhat controversial adult toys factory. Add a mishap involving lube and we meet Ryan, a firefighter and who happens to be Cassies childhood crush and next door neighbour.
Hilarious antics, adult toy sports and the cutest “non” mans best friend you will ever meet and Cassie finds herself in a whole heap of trouble. Good thing Ryan is on hand to lend a helping hand. Great light hearted read that will have you head over heels for a certain gorgeous firefighter.
Hold on to your hats book lovers, there’s a new aura cleansing, animal loving , moon bathing heroine in town and she drives a Vespa. Welcome back to Happy Cat where the inhabitants make for an interesting read. Add a miserable groom(not intended for our Olivia) who in his mind thinks he’s doing the right thing, an ex/on again Baby mama and why not spice it up with a crooked cop, Interfering family members, and Wham its wedding Interruptus. The second book in the series is full of quirky characters. Jace and Olivia will have you entertained from the beginning, after all he is her Kindred, mmmmm, Partner.
Oh boy, oh Man, o’Dell yes please. Another adventure awaits those all aboard the crazy train bound for Happy Cat, where the only thing weirder than the old folks playing bingo with phallic prizes is Hope and her sizzling personality. Blake is the quintessential happy ever After and Hope is the one that believes she’s destined to be unlovable. As we know all that can change at any moment, with the help of an Alpaca, who is in trouble , and an O’Dell who loves this sleep walking beauty and secretly would love nothing less than to remain married to her. Her ability to make things spark is just an added bonus in this hilarious return to Happy Cat. Blake and Hope’s love was after all written in the sparks
Humbugged
Oh ho ho holy ghostly shapes in flour and a hot marine. What a wonderfully delightful heart grabbing read. My expectations were once again met in the return to Happy Cat and it’s zany inhabitants. Noelle and Clint, Nutqacker and the O’Dell family leave you in stitches. Noelle tries really hard not to fall for Clint and she herself was in a marine family and did not want that specific life. Add to the fact he is a bit younger but fate has other ideas and it’s Clint to the rescue time and time again. Add the funny town memes and Noelle cant resist him. Hard to put down as Clint pulls at the heartstrings and makes you believe in love ever after.
Happily ever Aftered
And we’re back to the Happy Cat shenanigans. The start of the annual treasure hunt for love and the crazy towns folk are once again causing havoc. Colin having realised his true feelings for Savannah albeit a tad to late has brought his daughter across the pond in search for his love and gets tangled up in the hunt. With the help of some lovable characters from the previous books hilarity ensues. Great end to the series
Hosed Hot firefighter, nerdy blushing virgin, and a raccoon on a leash.....yep that's a Pippa Grant book! Add some spice and a little mystery and behold, Hosed, an over the top escape. This is a fun tale of second chance rom com in a quirky town known as Happy Cat. Cassie comes home to help run her sister's sex toy factory and the last person she wants to run into is Ryan, her high school crush. These two are adorable and have some off the chart heat not to mention insta-love. If you want to chill and just enjoy a zany tale with an HEA check out this witty book. I hope we see more of this town and it's cast of memorable residents. Hammered This is a return trip to the quaint town of Happy Cat and another O'Dell brother's HEA. Jace is the typical bad boy bar owner with a good heart. Olivia Moonbeam is a transplant from LA and works at the local sex toy shop when not moon bathing. You wouldn't think these two would mesh but the chemistry is undeniable. This is a fanciful story full of witty banter, perverted sidekicks, a bit of deceit and a she shed! I enjoyed the secondary animal characters, especially the precious Princess and the stoic Sir Pendleton. This series is fun and brings us back to the towns people I fell in love with in Hosed. Hitched Love these visits to Happy Cat and those gorgeous O'Dell brothers. This addition brings us the real story behind that contempt Blake seems to have for Hope St Claire. These two characters were introduced in Hammered (book 2) and we really saw the sparks flying even with all the snarky comments thrown at each other. I just knew there was something between them and was happy to have the answers. Pippa really has a way of creating animals or pets that become such an integral part of the tale and this is no exception with Chewpacca the alpaca. This was a fun, witty, quick read. Humbugged Just in time for the holidays is the story of larger than life Clint, the baby of the O'Dell family, and Noelle, the cute and klutzy baker. I loved reading how these two navigated through various amusing Christmas traditions and non-traditions, the baking fiascoes, and the interactions with several feisty senior citizens. In true Pippa and Lili fashion we get animal antics, several spicy moments, and a bit of intrigue. Beloved characters return from the first three books and of course we get to find out what that silly raccoon, George, has been up to as well as the antics of his growing family. Such an enjoyable series that I hope continues! Happily Ever Aftered - A nice bonus novella featuring Savannah and Colin. Loved getting to see their HEA and revisiting all our favorite O'Dells. The pet characters tried to steal the limelight and put a huge smile on my face throughout the story. Happy Cat has easily become one of my favorite places!
Hosed: I love to laugh and I really love funny stories. These author’s hit it out of park by blending just the right kind of hilarity with a sweet and sexy love story. I loved small town stories, and the premis is hilarious. This is, maybe a friends to lovers, or maybe it’s second chance, but it could also be a enemies to loves in our heroines eyes! Ryan O’Dell is just supremely swoon worthy and is seriously giving my book boyfriend list a run for the money. This is such a great story, you won’t be sorry you grabbed it! ❤️
Hammered:
A whimsical heroine combined with a reformed bad boy equals combustion! Olivia is a free spirit, she’s a whimsical girl who sees good in people and situations, she loves living (and non living) things, she’s sweet and quirky in all the best ways and she’s brave! Jace is the town bad boy, the local law enforcement has it out for him. Jase has flourished despite his reputation and is a business owner, Olivia is his lobster and he realizes this but, a big bomb is dropped to change everything and capers ensue. This story combine with some very adorable side kicks make for very fun escape from everyday life!
Hitched:
Loved returning to Happy Cat! Blake and Hope’s story is a frenemies to lovers/second chance (kind of) story. These two have a bit of a past (what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas) and ever since then they’ve tolerated each other. Hope is in a bit of a legal bind and asks Blake to help her, initially Blake declines but eventually relents and winds up helping her. Blake is a very protective, stand up guy. He’s attracted to Hope but he’s a bit crushed by the fact that Hope rejected him prior-in Vegas. He comes to understand why Hope is the way she is and leads her into a true relationship with him and his friends and family where she is embraced and loved for who she is. I loved this story about another O’Dell brother and I look forward to the next book!
Humbugged:
This book is such a treat. I’m always elated to return to Happy Cat! Noelle is newish in town; she’s starting out fresh in a new town and a new bakery business. The daughter of a single father Marine, she’s traveled and been separated from her Dad while growing up. She’s having a little trouble acclimating to life in Happy Cat, but slowly she begins to relax a little by letting people in and forming friendships with the O’Dell’s. Clint O’Dell is the baby of the family, but he’s a doer and takes care of everyone and everything around him. He’s the human embodiment of the word brave. He and Noelle are attracted to each other. They start as friends but there are undeniable sparks between them. All I can say is that Clint is amazing. He nicknamed Noelle “Cupcake,” I mean, that’s adorable and swooney. But Clint is absolutely unexpected, adorable and a man’s man. And a big shout out to the authors for giving Clint some amazing personality traits as the “baby” of the family! You’ll want your Christmas tree, a cup of hot cocoa or tea and a free evening to enjoy this magical holiday trip to Happy Cat! Because there is magic! 🎄
Bonus novella Happily Ever Aftered: This was just a sweet read and a great way to wrap up this series! Savannah and Colin get their HEA all while giving us little visits with the O’Dells along the way…plus the sweet, troublesome creatures of Happy Cat are involved!
Hosed: Should come with a warning label! This book tickled my fancy! I loved everything about it! I lost count of the times I genuinely laughed out loud, chuckled, snorted, cackled, grinned, and fell in love. Don’t think this book is all style and no substance, though! For every smile, there is real heart and emotion at work here. Cassie and Ryan’s personal journey was sweet and romantic but filled with many poignant moments that gave me all the feels. This book ticked all the boxes for me! Hammered: Whimsical! I want to move to Happy Cat and be best friends with Olivia and Jace, and babysit Princess, and hang out in Olivia’s she shed. Seriously. Pippa and Lili bring the emotion, but also a fair dose of whimsy in this wonderfully charming story! Everything about this book is perfect; from the townspeople to the diverse wildlife (or pets, but whatever). And the love that blooms between Olivia and Jace is so pure, their auras so aligned, it makes me swoon. Hitched: Electrifying! The town of Happy Cat is as charming as ever, filled with interesting people and even more interesting pets! Hope and Blake also have an interesting history, and it was a beautiful and emotional journey to their HEA. Hope is more charmingly vulnerable than I expected, and Blake was sweeter than I ever could have predicted. Together they are a crime-solving super duo! I loved this book like crazy! Humbugged: Superhero! Clint O’Dell might be the baby of his family, but he’s always been their superhero. He’s also the stuff of legends around Happy Cat, subject of over-the-top memes and a recent reindeer whisperer. Marine, tough guy, sweetheart. Noelle Alwyn arrived in Happy Cat hoping to make a fresh start re: running away from her problems. Cupcake baker extraordinaire when the bakery ghost isn’t wreaking havoc, she’s also a photographer that’s not taking photos. (see running away) Clint adores his cupcake, and Noelle adores her Marine. Sounds perfect right? Well, this is Happy Cat we’re talking about, so there’s also a crazy goose on the loose, a bakery saboteur that may or may not be a ghost and a very definite end date to Clint and Noelle’s holiday romance. Happy Cat is chock full of interesting and endearing characters of all shapes, sizes, and breeds! I loved this book, and I loved Clint and Noelle! Happily Ever Aftered: Sweet little bonus! Savannah and her boss, Colin, finally get their happily ever after in this sweet little bonus after Colin chases Savannah back to Happy Cat! We get to revisit all our favorite characters, animal, and human! A fun romp, literally!
