Excellent stories, tips, philosophies for documentary filmmaking and documentary editing by the great N.P.A.

It is quite a tight read, only slightly repetitive from someone who has had a career lasting over 4 decades and worked with the likes of Joshua Oppenheimer (Act of Killing) and Pirjo Honkasalo (Three Rooms of Melancholia).

It is more of an intuitive, feelings based approach, than an instructions manual.

Hunting down some of his films so I can read in context. This was refreshing after some more theoretical reads

Candid, practically helpful, and soulful. Full of love for life and its complexities, and for the craft.
