From USA Today bestselling author Makenna Jameison comes a sizzling new series.

The rugged, commanding operative never needed a woman…until he met her.

Shadow Ops Team leader Jett Hutchinson has everything he wants in life. Leaving the military’s strict rules and regulations behind has given him the freedom to run missions his way—and lead his successful black ops team. He’s not the type of man to be tied down, but the sassy blonde with curves that won’t quit teases and challenges him in ways he never expected.

Executive assistant Anna Dubois is ready for a change. A career in Manhattan with twelve-hour days is no match for her free-spirited ways. One weekend with a dangerously handsome man changes everything. She knows he owns a successful security company but has no clue about the off-the-books missions he runs or potential danger at her doorstep.

When a quick trip mixes work and pleasure, Anna’s life is suddenly in grave danger. Jett will hunt down the man who took her and serve him up to government officials without regret, but can he convince Anna of their future together and that he’ll protect both her body and heart?

Jett, a standalone novel, is book one in the Shadow Ops Team series.

RECENZIJA
# 1 Jett - Makenna Jameison
3⭐️
Susan Stoker, Piper, Maya Banks, Lora Leigh....

1.5* Glad I got it through BookBub for 99p. It’s so boring, and I didn’t believe in their ‘romance.’

Firstly I will say that I’m a big fan of Makenna Jameison, usually. This one just didn’t engage me at all, and I didn’t believe in their romance either. The danger was over really fast and a lot of the book is Jett or Anna’s thoughts, about their relationship and if it’s too fast. Jett questions whether he should tell Anna, about his secret missions constantly.

Anna and Jett meet in a bar one night and she goes back to his house for a one night stand, that turns into her moving into his house. Jett who was an army delta, has his own security company, which is really a cover for doing special ops for the government. Anna who is a personal assistant to an idiotic man, hates her job and living in the city. 24 hours after meeting Jett she has resigned from her job, and has moved into his house. At this point they haven’t really had long conversations, or got to know each other. It’s them having sex, sex and more sex.

When a mission goes wrong and puts Anna in danger I thought, ‘Finally. Some danger and excitement!’ Nope. It was over so fast that it wasn’t worth it.

This has to be this authors most boring book ever. Jett is the brother of Slade who is a navy seal commander and his book was really exciting.

frustrating heroine

Anna is great to start with but her character seems to change once they go to Seattle. She’s unreasonable and childish and then becomes dangerously obstinate. I don’t understand how Jett can blame himself for what happens when she put herself in harms way by being obdurate and childish. It spoiled the whole book for me so I really just skimmed the end. Poor Jett really deserves better. There is also some quite contradictory messaging as Anna whines about her current boss’s “unreasonable behaviour” then we are told that Jett asks his personal assistant to work over the weekend and buy clothes for Anna and set up picnics. Anna never questions that but gets upset with Jett when he can’t pay 100% attention to her on his work trip! Gah! Just too many annoying elements to the story.

Jett is a great start to the new Shadow Ops Team series. Jett owns Shadow Security, which is a front for his black ops Shadow Team. He meets Anna, an overworked executive assistant who is tired of big city life, at a bar. It's pretty much love at first sight though they say they don't believe in that. Anna agrees to go with Jett to his house that is tucked away in the woods an hour away from the city. What was going to be a night as place turns into the weekend and then pretty quickly turns indefinite when Anna quits her job and agrees to stay with him to see where things can go between them. Jett even agrees to take her on a business trip with him which is where we get the suspense part of this romantic suspense novel. Anna accidentally gets involved in something Jett's team is working on and ends up in trouble and needing to be saved before the couple can get their HEA. This book moved along at a good pace, there was strong character development, plenty of romance, and a nice dose of suspense and action. I very much enjoyed this series starter and look forward to Ford's story and the others to come after him!

Jett is the first book in the Shadow Ops Team series by Makenna Jameison. It introduces a new set of interesting characters, Jett Hutchinson who is the brother of Commander Slate “Striker” Hutchinson from the Alpha SEALs Coronado series, and Anna Dubois, an executive assistant to a CEO. Jett is an older former SEAL and owner of Shadow Security, a company that runs black ops for the government. Anna is fed up with her job in the city as an assistant to an incompetent boss, where he sexually harasses all of his employees. Anna and Jett meet at a bar and are instantly attracted to each other. Readers cannot help but love Jett, who falls hard for Anna and her quirky personality. Their relationship is hot from the beginning, and as they become infatuated with each other, Jett realizes that he must tell her exactly what his business entails in order to keep her safe. Of course he doesn’t do it soon enough, and Anna commits “the stupid,” and puts herself in grave danger. The story is fantastic, the characters (including Jett’s employees) are awesome heroes, and the plot is so intriguing that it will keep readers thoroughly entertained.

I can already feel that this is going to be a skim or dnf for me. H seems relatively solid except for some not cool traits like sinking a load of alcohol then driving home with h the first time they meet, telling her she should come back to his isolated cabin in the woods (?!) after they’ve been chatting for a few minutes, telling h her boss is out of line then getting his own assistant to do a load of work that can’t possibly be in her job description.

The h, however, is such a freaking airhead, she’s annoying me already. She talks about her parents a lot (way to maximise that age gap). she bitches about her life and job *constantly* but doesn’t seem to be doing anything about it. The way she’s tittering on the phone at her friends and saying they’re embarrassing her when they’re concerned about her getting in H’s car and driving out of the city with him (Hello! He’s a random freaking stranger you met in a bar who you’ve been drinking with all night??!). Girliepop, you’re embarrassing *yourself* by being TSTL and you deserve to get buried under his patio.

An amazing start to a new series which starts off with the owner, Jett, of a security business, that does more than just security. He meets Anna at a bar and invites her to spend the weekend with him at his place. Anna doesn’t do one night stands but something about Jett makes her feel safe and throws caution to the wind to be with him….their chemistry is off the charts but Jett keeps a part of what he does a secret…a secret that puts Anna in the line of fire….
A great read with steam, fireworks, some suspense, and amazing characters. I liked these two as they clicked, Anna who is strong and independent brings Jett to his knees and I loved the no drama between them. We get introduced to new characters and hopefully more new stories in the Shadow Ops series.

Anna has grown to hate Manhattan and her job, specifically her boss. One night she stops at the closest bar for a Friday night drink when she attracts the attention of Jett, in town on business. Jett runs a black ops team and his brother is Slate from the Alpha Seals series. They set off on a whirlwind weekend and later, while in Seattle Anna gets drawn into his latest op. A great read with heat, some suspense and an introduction to the men who work with him who I hope will get their own books.

I could tell by the end of the first chapter that I was going to love this series. I am a big Makenna Jamieson fan and military/security is my favorite genre. Jett Hutchinson's whole being shouts self confidence, self assurance and a man in control. Anna Dubois is quite possibly the perfect match for him. She's smart, hardworking, funny, spontaneous and beautiful. Setting eyes on each other in a crowded Manhattan bar gives them an instant connection. It only takes a week for them to know they want a lifetime together.

Book One of this new series is filled with action, handsome men and romance. When Anna made the rash decision to spend the weekend with a total stranger, Jett Hutchinson, a Special Ops leader, was it a big mistake or the beginning of a new life? This is the story of danger, hot kisses and well written sensual scenes. Leaving Manhattan to find herself in remote peace and quiet, was life altering for Anna. Jett wondered if he could just walk away from the most amazing woman he had ever met. The book will make you smile and want this couple as your friends.

Jett Hutchinson is the team leader for the Shadow Ops Team, a Black Ops team working for the government. Anna Dubois is an executive assistant who works twelve-hour days and receives a lot of abuse from her boss. A casual meeting turns into so much more. When a work trip with Jett turns into a mission and Anna’s life is in danger things take a turn for the worst. Will Jett and Anna be able to get past this bump in the road? I loved this book, the story is original and had me hooked from page one.

I absolutely loved this book. When I was reading it felt like a warm blanket over me keeping me warm. Everything that Jett did was just scrumptious. Anna was like a breath of fresh air, spontaneous and flirty, but also serious. Loved the connection, instant, but both didn't want to believe it, it was too good to be true. I can't wait to read more about all these new characters. Definitely a book that I recommend. "You look good wrapped around me."

Fun

A quick and steamy read. Former special forces created a security team and falls in love with a random meeting. The characters are fully developed and their relationship is instantaneous. Lots of chemistry and hot moments meet an international concern that the security team must handle. Humor and action are seen throughout. A solid story and has the making of a fun and easy to read series.

Jett

This is a good start to a series new to me. It is kind of slow in the beginning but these two didn't fool around before they got to business. We got to meet Jeff and most of his team and get to know a little bit about his company. Jeff is definitely taking this faster than expected. Anna is impulsive as well. There was not much danger but this is the beginning of the series. FANTASTIC job Makenna! I would recommend this book. On to the next book!

A great start to a new series and a new set of characters. Jett is the brother of Slate , the Seal Team commander in the Alpha Seals Corranado seies. The story is well written and a page Turner. A great romance with enough suspense to keep things interesting. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Anna and Jett

They met setting across the bar. He joined her. They talked and drank. The next he knew he was inviting her to his place. She was accepting. He knew he was in trouble. He couldn't stop touching her. He had some explaining to do but she was worth it.
The sex was sizzling but the story was able to shine through.

This book was surprisingly good. The characters were interesting and there was a real climax. Many times when I read these types of paramilitary/military romances the ending is a disappointment, but happily not this one. I’ll try the next book in the series and see if it offers the same entertainment value.

An instalust/instalove has Anna & Jett feeling like maybe they are each other's one but turns frightening when Anna is taken leaving Jett trying like heck to save her from the evil he was after...does he accomplish his goal or lose her before they get their chance.

Jett (Shadow Ops Team Bk. 1)

This was a touching story of love unexpectedly found and returned. Jett is not normally an impulsive man, but when he unexpectedly meets Anna, he is in unknown territory and has his head spinning.
