Now i know how Hiroya Oku got the idea for all these crazy creepy and cool new aliens!
i mean this is insane the most innovative so far, but not so much since he gave picture to folk tales, but he did a great job of visualizing these incredible folk tale monsters.
I can't wait to read any book about Japanese folk tales, i will be on the lookout for one from now on.

This one pretty much continues the big brawl with the crazy other team. This will be a short review. Some cool moments, one involving a double team between two characters verses one monster and this monster is swift as fuck so was great to watch. Also there's a funny moment with glowing eyes blasters. Won't spoil but good stuff. Rest was just a lot of fighting, a few deaths, and that's about it. A solid, action packed volume, a 3 out of 5.

I'm probably becoming repetitive at this point. Blood, guts, violence, dismemberment, monsters. The latest deployment continues as the Osaka Assholes prove how much better they are than the Tokyo Do-Gooders. I really want most of the Osaka Assholes to die. The boss monsters are pretty cool in this volume, especially the shapeshifter.

This is a review of the entire series.

Synopsis: Gantz tells the story of a teenager named Kei Kurono, among others, who die but find themselves brought back in perfectly healthy bodies and forced to participate in a "game" where they must hunt down and kill aliens.

Review: I almost gave up on Gantz several times, but now that I've read it all the way to the end, I'm glad I stuck with it. The beginning is dragged down by repulsive and unlikable characters, a messily paced story, unnecessary sexualization and gratuitous violence without much substance. As it progresses, however, the character development becomes pretty incredible and the growing threat of the enemies feels truly well done. Once the real enemies are revealed, it's mind-blowing how the series had been secretly foreshadowing their arrival from the very beginning.

Although it takes a while, some really good characters are introduced later on in the series and they're the ones that made me want to read to the end. Some characters that were absolutely unbearable in the beginning became polar opposites of their original selves and even made me sympathize with them quite a bit. The protagonist Kei for example, I hated him with all my heart for the first third of the series, he became progressively more likable in the second third of the story and then he evolved into one of the most memorable, unlikely heroes I've ever seen in this storytelling medium throughout the final third. The last third of the series is unbelievably terrifying with some of the most gruesome and disgusting battle/survival scenes in the history of fiction. It's much more bearable and intense in the final third because this time the violence and horror is happening to people we actually care about instead of a bunch of unlikable nobodies.

The final third of the story is what made me feel so glad that I didn't give up on this series. It had me on the edge of my seat more times than I can recall. There are a ton of chapters but they're very short and full of action which makes the series a quick read despite having almost 400 chapters. So even though the first third of the story was kinda bad in my opinion, it doesn't last for long and the payoff that comes after it's over truly impressed me. It's a flawed, thrilling and horrifying action series that takes a while to kick off. When it finally kicks off, however, it kicks off extremely hard.

This is turning out to be one rather long mission. The fights are still going on, with the focus being more on the Osaka team (and their crazy-ass antics). The alien adversaries are ramping up in difficulty, as the "boss aliens" and giant aliens join in. There are times where the action is a bit messy and it's difficult to see what's happening, but ultimately it's not really important I guess, just serving to highlight how chaotic things are. I'm noticing a lot of Dotonburi landmarks drawn into the scenes. Apparently, there's a tool to scan and see how much points an alien can confer. I was wondering when something like that would show up, given precedents in other manga and anime using a generic number to represent power level.

Hola hola aprendiz y lector.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Out of three big bosses, one was eliminated but not completely. His head remains alive and laser beams are coming out of his eyes. Seems like full body is growing again from his head part.

Seems like the weapon which was supposed to capture the aliens using a net is not working on these three big boss aliens.

Chapter-264: 💀

The artwork in this volume was amazing!

Gantz is a series of stories about recently deceased people who don suits and weapons to fight aliens. In this episode, a group from Tokyo and a group from Osaka are in Osaka fighting highly complicated and lethal aliens. The artwork and story are pretty good. The story continues.

This Manga is getting better and better. The art, the gore, the story and the shity personality of the new characters from the Osaka Team make it increasingly captivating.
