She wants her boss, so she leaves. He wants her, so he follows. Negotiating for her time, he manages a date, and she begins dodging the alpha. Fate will have to take steps.
Nora was an excellent administrative assistant until the day a business associate of her boss made an aggressive pass. She tells her boss, and he tells her to thicken her skin, having heard the other male’s version of the event. She can toughen up or quit. She chooses the option that will stop the pain of the dismissal. Sabin is shocked when he finds out she is leaving, and he’s devastated when he learns that it is her last day. He had enjoyed having her next to him, breathing in her scent all day every day and spent many hours trying to find a way around the whole employee-employer thing, but now, it was solved for him. A frantic kiss tells him what she tastes like at long last, and now, he has to find a way to get her back to his side. Nora ends up in a situation where she smells like a hot omega and is at a party full of alphas. Sabin is there and offers his help for the bargain price of one night. That night spins into events that will echo through their lives, and defying families, a curse, and stalkers, they make their way to a family future.
This was a super weird read. I did finish it but I would have a hard time explaining it. There are alphas, betas, omegas, and different types of shifters but I would have a hard time explaining the world more than that. I think it's the style of writing and the assumption that the reader knows what's going on that made reading this novel super confusing. The gist is that the female character is a beta/omega and smells like chocolate which is apparently intoxicating to all she runs into. The male character is her former boss who has a thing for her and after she leave his company he sees an opportunity to pursue her. It's just odd and I really can' t be sure of what I read.
I love Viola Grace so checking out her new series was a no brainer. Overall, this story was fun but really confusing. Even after 200 pages I can’t tell you much about the world. There are alphas, omegas, and betas. Something about a cat pride and dragons and bears but not sure if they actually shift shape. I mean, I can’t even tell if this is supposed to take place on another version of Earth or a complete fantasy world. The male mc had a huge family, where relationships consisted of multiple partners, and none of them were properly introduced so it took me until almost the end of it to get any idea of who was who. Basically, I loved the idea and what was written was written well but the development of the story suffered. I’m not going to buy the rest of the series.
This was a weird read. I don't know how to explain it. It was entertaining but it read finny , like it was translated from another language or something?? Idk. The characters behavior and mannerisms weren't what I'd have expected either. I would still recommend it if it sounded interesting to u. Just wasn't my cuppa
I love that he is a mate-pleaser. There should be more of those kinds of spouses. She’s a strong woman who is a survivor. I can’t wait for the next book!
If I could give extra stars, I would. There were several highly original ideas. 1. Interrupted beta. 2. Alpha mother who is an unmonitored alpha who is a convincer. 3. Alpha bark. 4. Omega maker. 5. Mate soother. 6. Curse benefiting ones children, that unmodified, curses the step-children. There are enough original ideas to spin off quite q few other stories.
I really enjoyed this book. The guy started as an asshat but became a totally fab book boyfriend over the course of the story. I also enjoyed seeing characters from the previous series in this world from a different point of view. This author just keeps getting better. Looking forward to the next book.
This new series has multiple twists in the plot that will have you reading until the end. Quirky but strong women who take the future and the men by the hand and lead them where they need to go!
Sabin is shocked when his PA Nora quits. The up side, he can now pursue her. First he needs to investigate the reason. He doesn't like what he learns. Winning his Beta takes some care. Nora's family offers no support, other then her fathers love. Nora doesn't receive the same welcome to the family that Lexa and Alita did. Someone is trying to kill her. Sabin doesn't seem to be able to rely on his family to keep her safe, except for the bears, dragons, and The cats step up to help. Even the very special baby, and Nora's special talent, don't seem to measure up. Though a few are making an effort. Sabin enlists the help of Nora's friends Luna, Aria, and Estella, and some other unique females. The bring to light a selfish curse that has had far reaching consequences for the family. Babies are born. More on the way. Looking forward to Luna's and her dragon's story. Hoping Estella, Aria and the rest of the book club ladies find their mates.
This story is a wonderful extension of the omega stories of Olivia and Lexi. Nora has had terrible experiences with alphas and resists Sabin for years. When she finally falls for his brand of seduction, she finds the love of her life, and happiness in most of her life. There are some bumps along the way, but with the help of her book club friends, it all works out in the end. I love the books that Ms. Grace writes and I look forward to Luna’s story.
It was like reading the sixth book of a series or maybe a spinoff series. Totally confusing to read with conversations and stories that refer to events you dont know about because you havent read the previous books. I double checked I hadnt opened the wrong book!
Come to think it I dont even know what the characters look like. I just know Sabin is huge because the shirt was long on Nora.
I seriously checked at one point to see if it was a stand alone because it's such a jumbled mess that I assumed I must have missed the first 5 books or something. Alpha/Beta/Omega, ok cool! Oh but she's a beta-omega... ok. There are also shifters... maybe... but not here.
Honestly all the weird unexplained terms made this impossible to read.
The books in these connected series are sex scenes linked by a storyline. I am not a fan of sex scenes and tend to skim read them but something in the storylines keeps me returning.
I think it would have been a good read but I felt that it was a spin off from another series. It felt like you should have read a previous book where the characters were introduced? The world building wasnt there.
2-2.5 stars depending on if this an offshoot series coming from another one. The whole thing felt like the world building was done in a different series and that you should already know it and a LOT of the characters in this book. If that is the case it’s my fault I felt lost.
