I did find the first few volumes...full of action...and getting to know the characters was fun. Even though there's still action...I'm finding the recent volumes full of soul searching and chatting/agonising over stuff incredibly annoying. though I did spot "Sid" here
Much much better than the past 4 or 5 volumes which were the dreadful ancient library arc. Enjoying the setting of the gold saucer (on the big bridge!) and cid seems cool. Honestly didn't expect shogo and cid to be forced to cross dress as ochus for a cabaret club, lol.
These volumes take so long to come out that I forget bits that have happened previously. It felt like a lot happened in this volume, however I found it hard to keep up as I felt lost.
Damn, not gonna lie I wasn't expecting so much underground Gold Saucer drama. The second Wall Street came into it I should have suspected, but still. And the ending, the drama continues.
I'm glad we are getting some older characters back, and more of the new side characters. I adore the Viera. I am a little salty that the Au'ra haven't shown up yet, since they had a couple frames in a previous volume.
Anyways, good balance, still no real character progression, and the main party is MIA, but very enjoyable. I'm pretty upset now that there's no indication when volume 10 will be released Dx
Kicking things into higher gears again as we get into the Gold Saucer proper. There are a lot of new characters involved here, with most of Shogo's original adventuring party pushed to one side for a bit.
I do enjoy Cid, though Don Leone is hard to get a read on. I'm not sure if I'm meant to hate or love him. He's better than Don Corneo from VII at least (though that's a low bar).
