Being part-human in the Four Regions is a dangerous business. There is no true safety, even when hidden away in the Mountains. That’s why Fern’s parents are so protective, why they don’t belong to an established clan—she and her best friend Kraai have human blood within their veins. At least, that’s what they’ve been told their whole lives.

When Fern receives a letter from a mysterious stranger, the truth is revealed:

The truth about her parents.

The truth about her friend.

The truth about her own blood.

Answers and safety lie within the Light Region, beyond a veil of secrets. Will the truth be too much for Fern to handle or will she be able to embrace an inner darkness to keep herself and her loved ones safe?

I was so thrilled to get my hands on a copy of Mist, and I devoured it in a few hours flat – I just couldn’t put it down!
Fink has left nothing out while world-building for this series, which helps create a rich and detailed history and an array of cultures that are both fantastical and believable. It was just so well thought out and interesting, and I felt as though I’d lived within the pages forever, which is hard to accomplish without becoming bogged down with pointless information or detailed and irrelevant facts. But Fink pulls it off effortlessly. It contains my favorite themes, tropes, and creatures – royalty, secrets and intrigue, drama, monsters, and magic. But they are done in a fresh way, going in directions that were definitely not predictable or ordinary.
Her writing style is easy to follow, building the further in you read; there is no detail that she hasn't thought of, and the skills Fink has with words is incredible; from the detailed imagery to the masterful way she drags emotion from the reader.
The plot itself sucks you in, so much so that I read this book in one sitting (like I did with the previous ones too) and introduces us to more new characters. Fern and Kraai were so adorably cute that it wasn’t hard to fall in love with them immediately. I absolutely loved the reintroduction to old favorites as well, and the full circle the plot of Mist brought us for the series as a whole.
While Mist didn’t feel as fast-paced as Mask and Wave, this installment gives the reader the same danger, intrigue, and action that we’ve come to expect from The Four Regions. It answers all of the pressing questions and brings many of the story arcs to a close perfectly.
I will be continuing to stalk Fink’s social media for news of anything else she wants to release with bated breath.

Wow. What a flow of a beautifully intrigued story. Three books with three generations, with their own set of struggles and actions in their lives. Three different regions explained with an incredible world-building. Andrea literally wrote the story so well and at points, I wanted to through the book (well, in this case, it’s my phone since it’s an eARC and I literally can’t throw my phone otherwise How will I read and do stuff), as I was not able to figure out its course. You know a story is fantastic when you can’t figure out what happens next and that suspense binds you in reading it further.

This book focuses on Strike's daughter Fern, she’s a well-hidden secret who is in danger as she’s nearing the age where she can claim her throne if she wants to but being kept in dark about from the knowledge of her heritage and guarded well so she doesn’t get to know anyone outside her clan. But when all this comes crashing and secrets are revealed, she has to take cover where nobody can suspect. For this fun adventures part, you have to read the book.

Fern has a dear friend Kraai who is also in dark about his own inheritance. The bond between these two is like they can follow each other to the ends of the world without any questions and that trust keeps them alive in the most precise manner. The climax is the one I didn’t see coming and loved every bit of it.

A must-read. But to know the depth of the story you should read MASK & WAVE first. Also the covers are gorgeous Of this trilogy.

I keep falling in love with this world with each book I read. I really enjoyed the character development in this book. Fern had a lot she needed to learn to become the person she was ultimately meant to be and it was beautifully written.

The four regions have been a fabulous place to visit… and now I need another, please! I can’t get enough!

We see old characters in a new light and meet several new ones. It’s fascinating to see the lore of the world grow as each generation reaches adulthood. I hope I get the chance to visit again.
