I have been with this duo from the start and read every,book. They keep getting better when I thought they were already the best. This is a compelling read. The story follows Jake and his best friend Lucas. They have been friends their entire lives. They both love Leighton and that rivalry caused them not to speak for 4 yrs. Presently, Jake and Lucas are both prospects for the Kings but there is chaos when they take Leigh from Kellen. He’s the man she left at the altar. This story has chaos and grit but there are splashes of humour. There is a massive cliff which I’m not a fan of though. This story is gritty and exciting, sexy and humorous, full of surprises, twists and turns. It also comes with a massive cliffhanger which I'm usually not a fan of though unless the next book is already out.

Jake and Lucas both have come along way as Prospects for the Savage Kings of Myrtle Beach. Jake's storyline was interesting with drama, a wee bit of humor, and some intense situations and characters. Looking forward to Lucas' story and the continuing storyline between the Savage Kings and Kellen Hawthorne.

This book offers up a very gripping tale that is filled with emotion, tension, drama, action, turmoil, suspense and heat. I liked the characters and really enjoyed the chemistry and connection. I'm eager to read the next entry in this series. This is my frank, freely posted review.

I received this book for Free to Give My True & Honest Review.
Oh my i REALLY didn't want Jake's story to stop, but we'll hear more about Jake & Leighton 'Leigh' story when we're going to read Lucas's story who was best friend to BOTH Leigh & Jake's.
But Jake & Lucas join together to STOP Leigh for marrying her fiancé Kellan Hawthorne.
Lucas has been checking her social media out over the 4 yrs she upped & left, whilst Jake just couldn't/ didn't want to see her happy with anyone else, BUT they didn't have to stop the wedding as Leigh stopped herself.
And it's After that, that things go berserk, as *Kellan decided to Marry her College best friend McKayla whom went to inform Kellan & videoed it JUST to try & make Leigh jealous & it's AFTER that situation that things for the Savage Kings have a new enemy with the Hawthorne's as Lucas 'kidnapped' his youngest Sister Taryn* thinking she was McKayla & they were meeting up to do an exchange which didn't happen due to McKayla NOT being in the car with Kellan but his father, who got shot on route to the meet & McKayla has disappeared disappeared & it took a couple of days to find her.
BUT it's not until after they've got McKayla back things go down.....

3.5 stars—JAKE is the tenth instalment in the contemporary, adult SAVAGE KINGS MC: SOUTH CAROLINA erotic, MC romance series co-authored by Lane Hart and DB West. This is prospect Jake Rollins, and photographer Leighton Pearson’s story line. JAKE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from three first person perspectives (Jake, Leighton and Lucas) JAKE follows the second chance relationship, of sorts, between Savage Kings MC prospect Jake Rollins and photographer Leighton Pearson. Jake Rollins and Lucas Bennett were childhood best friends but four years earlier Jake walked in on his best friend with the woman he loved, a woman who potentially played both young men to get what she wanted. Fast forward to present day, Lucas and Jake are both prospects for the Savages Kings MC, but only one will be sworn in as a patched-in member. Forced to work together in an effort to mend their friendship, Lucas and Jake would interrupt Leighton’s wedding to the son of a local crime lord, ‘kidnapping/rescuing’ our heroine as she ran out of the church, but all was not as it appeared to be, as Leighton went willingly, pushing the former best friends together in an effort to protect the woman with whom they have both fallen in love. On the run and in hiding, Leighton would discover that her soon to be husband is not the man with whom she thought she had fallen in love, and her best friend may be paying the price. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate and intense.
JAKE follows several intersecting and interconnected pathways that pulls the Savage Kings MC into a possible war with the mob. From Leighton’s ‘runaway bride’ escape to watching her best friend take the fall; the reuniting of two childhood best friends, and the realization about love and forever; the fall-out of a would-be rescue to threats from the mob, JAKE is a story of family and betrayal, power and control, vengeance and retribution. The premise is entertaining but didn’t really catch until about 70% ; the building romance was awkward-I didn’t feel the attraction because of the constant back and forth, push and pull between our leading couple- Jake refused to cross an invisible line; the characters were often immature and stuck on what happened in the past.
JAKE was a bit of a struggle for me-apparently I am in the minority having looked at the number of 5 star reviews. I have liked /loved most of the authors’ MC story lines but I could not feel any empathy for what was happening or why. My connection to the leading characters was limited-something was missing from this particular instalment. I felt like I was reading a young adult story line-the love triangle aspect, not withstanding-perhaps it was the lack of any sexual tension. Hopefully I can reconnect with the next instalment. JAKE ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Let's get busy reading another MC book. A genre that I really adore...
Lane Hart and DB West know what they are doing.
They gave created this amazing MC series and I want you guys to read it.
You'll fall in love with each book, I can guarantee it.
Jake is their latest release and it's the tenth book from the Savage Kings MC, South Carolina charter.
This book explores the lives of Jake and Leighton.
Jake is a prospect for the Savage Kings, and that's not an easy task.
Beside him stands his former best friend wanting to become a patched member as well.
I'm saying former best friend because what once was a true friendship, turned into hate because of a woman.
When they see themselves fighting to "save" the so-called girl...
Leighton had it all until she didn't. When she starts to realize that her fiance wants to control every aspect of her life, she starts to have second thoughts about the marriage.
When she finds out of church she runs into her former friends and...
This might sound like an easy thing good right? Take her away from him for her to start over but when the other party has the means and the money...
I was so freaking mad... Super mad...
Wanna know why?
Because the book ended in a way that left me speechless...
I need the rest of it.
I need the next story...
Why? Why did you guys do this to us? It's so not fair...
Amazing plot, well written, super engaging, and intense.
Each chapter was even more perfect and addicting than the previous and I couldn't stop reading it.
One minute things were one way, and the next we would get a surprise...
So good.
And the hot stuff? Oh boy... Loved it.
These two were perfect for each other and you will fall in love with them in an instant.
Trust me.

As prospects Jake and Lucas are told that they’ve got to reach a unanimous decision about who gets patched in and who doesn’t after two years of hating each other with the Savage Kings. They had fallen out four years ago. Leighton was best friends with Jake and Lucas but when Jake found them in bed together he fell out with Lucas. As his best friend, Lucas knew that Jake was crazy about Leigh but slept with her anyway. Leigh saw Jake as a player and Lucas didn’t attempt to correct her opinion. So Leigh had left for college in New York where she now worked.
Now engaged to be married, Jake discovered that her wedding was that day in Myrtle Beach. He managed to convince Lucas to go to the church with him and try to stop the weeding. Next thing Leigh had the necessary transport to be a runaway bride. She’d changed her mind, but her fiancé was from a very well connected, rich family that controlled everything.
When Leigh runs away, that’s when the chaos begins…
This was an excellent addition to the series. Jake and Lucas’ broken friendship is so bitter. Jake was passionate about becoming a Savage King and had been since being 15. Lucas followed him without the same aspirations, but he had his reasons. Leighton and Jake’s reunion was heartwarming and passionate and all three of them were relieved to get the chance to be reunited and talk. Leaving the story on one almighty cliffhanger…roll on Lucas. Fantastic.

This story is about Jake growing up with Luke & Leighton. All 3 have been best friends until Jake walks in on Luke & Leighton hooking up. While both teens fight, Leighton leaves town for 4 years. During that time, Jake has joined the Savage Kings MC & so has Luke. There is only one spot open but the deal-breaker is these 2 have to come to a decision on which one of them will be voted in.
Leighton is getting married in town & for once, Luke & Jake are working together to break up the wedding before the vows are exchanged. Little did they know that Kellen, her fiance, comes from a powerful family & with Leighton escaping literally minutes before the wedding begins, Luke & Jake stir up a hornet's nest of danger & revenge to get her back to the altar. This novel is book 1 with a cliff-hanger as there are twists, some of the past secrets are revealed for the 3 friends & the surprises that have developed from the jilted groom, you are set for one helluva ride! This is a great novel for Jake's new chapter in his life. This is interesting & it will keep you gripped in your seat as to what will happen next!

As a HUGE fan of this series and these authors, I was thrilled to get my hands on this one.
The Savage Kings MC series is addictive and easy to love. Each one delivers gripping and entertaining stories that are steamy and action packed, with all the things we love about a romance MC read. There's so much to enjoy in these pages!
I was both happy and conflicted with Jake and Lucas, and Leighton's past choices made me frustrated.
(And, ugh! McKayla!! Seriously girl?!) This is exactly why I love reading these authors!! I get so engaged in their world! The club’s brotherhood and loyalty to each other is written well. I know every book in the series is going to be entertaining and easy to enjoy. These pages turned themselves and before I knew it, I was done!
This ends in a cliffhanger, which I absolutely approve of this time! I’m very excited to see the continuation of this story. I strongly recommend reading this series in order to get the most from each book.
I would leave more than five stars if I could!! Looking forward to the re-read, and the next one in this series!

Congratulations to the wonderful power couple; D.B. West & Lane Hart. Jake is the 10th installment to The Savage Kings MC Series, however, this publication is just as riveting as the rest.
Two Savage King prospects; Jake and Lucas used to be best friends, all it took to separate them was one woman; Leighton. Leigh was the object of both their desires through to High School, however, after breaking trust, each went their own way.
We have met these two amazingly crafted characters in past installments, but the way they interact has been beyond entertaining. The reason for their falling out (Leigh) has returned, after 4 years (willingly or not), and everything is about to change between them yet again.
This book features dangerous/intriguing scenarios, as well an undeniable chemistry and love. I would class it as a 'must read' MC romance.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Jake, in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion.
Should you be seeking a dramatic MC romance, trust me, you just found it. I highly recommend reading this release, as well as the Series, as a whole ASAP.

This series is getting better and better. This is the story of Jake and Leighton, but also involves Lucas, Tarym and McKayla. Jake, Lucas and Leighton were best friends in high school, both boys liked Leighton and one night changed everything for the 3 as Leighton took off. This is the 10th book in the Savage Kings MC South Carolina series featuring Jake and his former best friends Lucas and Leighton's story. Jake ,Lucas and Leighton were all best friends until the day that Jake caught them in a compromising position which forced Leigh to leave and it started the rift between them. Both Jake and Lucas love Leigh but neither wanted the other to have her. Now 4yrs later Jake and Lucas are both prospecting for the Savage Kings which causes some turmoil but Jake has always been passionate about joining the club and Lucas doesn't share Jake's passion he has his own reasons for doing it. It's going to be between Jake and Lucas for the final decision for the patch. However all of their animosity falls by the wayside when they team up to stop Leighton from getting married. When they get there they find Leigh running away from Kellen I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this gritty, intense, exciting story to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book

We finally get to find out more about Jake (as well as some info on Lucas), the two prospects that were shot when their MC was attacked in a story previously published. Jake and Lucas used to be friends but as with many best friends, the love of a girl came between them but in this story, it is also what brings them (very reluctantly) back together. Jake was crazy about Leigh (ok, maybe even in love with) back in high school but then he found her in bed with his best friend Lucas. Immediately after that discovery, Leigh left and then four years later she unexpectedly ends up back between them when they help her escape on her wedding day. That action sets in motion events that thrust their MC, as well as the three "friends" into a situation that no one thought was possible. As stated, this book ends in a cliffhanger that will be concluded in Lucas' Book which is due to be released in May and as a reader, I am having trouble waiting to finally see how this "love" triangle concludes.

Jake is the tenth book in the Savage Kings MC South Carolina series! You have to love these hot sexy MC brothers! What you see is what you get with the Savage Kings. They are unapologetically who they are, which makes the characters wonderful. With some humor, action, drama, romance, a few twists and surprises, the tenth installment in the series delivers just like the previous books. Through the series, we have known Jake and Luke as prospects, who were at one time best friends. Of course, a girl comes between them, and they hate each other until a girl, Leighton, needs rescuing. With both of them ready to get patched in, and the Club only looking to patch in one, things go high stakes for these two again until they have to stand up for the woman that they love and, in doing so, find their brotherhood again. I can hardly wait for book eleven! The Savage Kings MC South Carolina is truly a series that I do not want to see end.

A chance encounter with the Savage Kings as a teen, Jack is now prospecting to become a member along side his former best friend and it's a toss up between Jake or Lucas getting the patch. Leighton was best friends with Jake and Lucas but when Jake found them in a compromising position it forced Leigh to leave and riff between them. Four years later Leigh is back to be married in the church her parents were and she's having doubts. When Leigh becomes a runaway bride, that’s when the chaos begins… Jake was passionate about becoming a Savage King and had been since being 15. Lucas followed him without the same aspirations, but he had his reasons. Leighton and Jake’s reunion was heartwarming and passionate and all three of them were relieved to get the chance to be reunited and talk. Their story ends on cliffhanger leaving many th I mgs unanswered. Bring on Lucas the suspense is killing me.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is the 10th book in the Savage Kings:South Carolina MC series. Each book can be read as a standalone. However, this book does end on a cliffhanger making you patiently wait for the next book.
Jake and Lucas used to be best friends. Now they just fight and compete over everything. Including who gets patched into the Savage Kings. When Jake finds out that their 3rd best friend is back in town to get married. He makes a plan to crash and stop the wedding. When he sees a big poofy white dress come running from around the corner.
Leighton is a runaway bride. But who knew running would lead her straight back to her best friends. With a crazy ex-finace threatening her and taking her best friend hostage. She needs them and the Savage Kings to save her friend.
As always. I loved it. Can't wait for the conclusion to these 3 best friends story.

We finally get the whole story on what happened between Jake and Lucas and why they both wanted to prospect for the Savage Kings.
I loved Jake and sympathized with him on what happened in the past with Lucas and Leighton. His own family’s connection to the Kings was sweet and genuine.
I wasn’t thinking much of Lucas after everything was revealed, but he redeemed himself in my eyes as to why he wanted to prospect along Jake. I’m definitely sensing some sparks between him and Taryn!
Leighton, was a bit more challenging for me. I didn’t dislike her, but I didn’t like a lot of what she did or how she handled things.
The unexpected of what happened with McKayla, and then Kellan and Desmond, has me not only itching to get my hands on the next book to see how the Kings will deal with everything, but I want more of the explosive chemistry McKayla mentioned to Leighton!

I love love love Jake poor guys been pinning after his lost love that slept with his best friend ultimately destroying their friendship while she left town to attend college.
Only now she is back and getting married only yet again she does a runner and again other people suffer the consequences of her actions.
Leighton is so whiny that she obviously can't see the hidden going ons behind her back and I don't think her friend is spending much time thinking about her..which is proven later in the book and Leigh's whole blaise reaction to it just had me shaking my head I guess she had more pressing things to deal with like getting Jake into bed.Guess she couldn't trust her friend 99% lol
Can you tell she wasn't a big fav of mine..I'm hoping that the next book is alittle more gritty considering the war these 2 have brought on to their club but also every other one too..Hope Leighton was worth it cos I don't think so.

Three friends, Lucas, Jake, and Leighton end in heartbreak. We are four years in the future where Luke and Jake are prospects for the Savage Kings MC but only one can get patched in. Misunderstandings happened and Leighton leaves town. Now Jake tells Luke that Leighton is back in town getting married and they decided to stop the wedding. They see Leigh running out the back door of the church because she doesn't love the man she's suppose to marry. After hearing gun shots they grab her and take off. The MC ends up getting involved. Will these three be able to put their differences away and fix their relationships. There is drama, danger, passion and love. This is book one where the conclusion ends in book two. This story kept me reading until the very end and I can't wait till the next book comes out with Luke's story. . A Testing five-star read. This is number ten in the Savage Kings MC South Carolina series and each brother tells you a different part of the story and each play their own part. Jake is one of the prospects that are waiting for the final decision will it be him or will it be his once upon a time best friend now enemy Lucas who et the knock. This was a great story as it told us why the two brothers who were once so close are now so tempestuous that they can barely be in the same room as each other. We find out that love really is a fickle thing, and there are many different loves, and this one shows us many, it also has a rip-roaring cast, including a runaway bride who makes you stop and think. Jake was a great story, but he left me wanting Lucas story right now, I need to know what will happen next.

When circumstances bring them back together, it also brings lots of chaos for thier club. Jake and Lucas are just prospects for the Kings but the Brotherhood being what it is, the Kings are quick to back them when they take Leigh from Kellen Hawthorne, the man she left at the altar. This story is gritty and exciting, sexy and humorous, full of surprises, twists and turns. It also comes with a massive cliffhanger which I'm usually not a fan of. With this one I found it to be sooooo good because what's coming is going to be even better.

n order to prepare for this book, I started reading this series from book 1. I love this MC and all of the characters thus far. I loved the story, the heat and the ongoing story line. I have to be honest, I found Leigh to be a bit on the whiney and needy side but her character fit the story so that is why I am still rating this 5 stars. The author is a master of bring all elements of a great story together and does not shy away from some dark elements (without going too dark) that makes reading MC books better. I can't believe where the story left off and can't wait to see what happens with Lucas' book!!!!
