At thirty-two-years old, Dominic “Chief” Snow is about his business. Paid and devilishly enchanting, he isn’t the type to roll out of bed for anything less than six figures. As a real estate investor, he owns multiple properties across the city of Miami. Yet, it’s his illegal practices that produce the most revenue. Every hustler in ‘Magic City’ picks their own poison. For Chief and his brothers, Rome and Baby, it’s a slew of armed robberies that keep them paid and living the life that legacies are made of. While he may seemingly have it all, his outlook on love is bittersweet. Now three years divorced from his high school sweetheart, his only focus is on his sixteen-year-old daughter, Dream, and multiplying his money. But when a bank heist lands him in the presence of an angel, he’s made aware that fate has other plans.
Gianna Austin is a twenty-nine-year-old pastry chef with dreams of opening her own bakery. When her third attempt to get a bank loan backfires, she finds herself amidst an armed robbery which leaves her world spiraling on its axis. After escaping with her life, she’s hit with the news that her young, troublesome brother is being released from prison and has no one to turn to. She finds herself trying to help him get back on his feet while figuring out just how she can manifest a business miracle. When a chance encounter lands Gianna in Chief’s presence, she realizes he may be just the person she needs to make her dream a reality. But what will she do when she finds out that he may be a wolf in sheep’s clothing?
For a woman like Gianna, trust and honesty are everything. And for a man like Chief, loyalty and reverence are king. When an unexpected threat targets Chief’s family, a domino effect ensues. Not only are the Feds threatening to dismantle everything they’ve worked so hard to build, but someone he thought he’d left in his rearview just may be closer than they appear. As plots of deceit unravel around them, so may their chance at love.
*Please This is the first standalone novel in the Heist of Hearts series. Each book in the series will feature a different member of the Snow family with no cliffhangers. *
A Lover's Heist was such a good book! It was filled with so much action and suspense, it had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. All of the twists and turns were exhilarating. I loved me some Gianna and Chief. Their love journey was filled with excitement and drama. Chief is immediately taken with Gianna from the moment he sees her but, unbeknownst to her, he has ulterior motives for wanting to get close to her. Young and naïve Dream thinks she's met the love of her life until he reveals his true colors. Gianna takes in her wayward just got out of jail younger brother. Giovanni makes promises about getting his life together he has no plans on keeping them. Somebody's gunnin' for the Snow brothers and threatening to tear down their empire. Whew! There was a lot going on in this book. The storyline will definitely keep you engaged and entertained. A Lover's Heist was a phenomenal read. I loved how the author channeled The Town within the storyline. With the bank heists, jewel heists, and murder, it's the perfect mix of romance, suspense, and mystery. This was my first book by K.L. Hall and it did not disappoint. I look forward to reading more from her.
4.5✨The way I devoured this book is not even funny. A Lover’s Heist definitely captured my attention and did not let up until the end. I love how the author built the storyline of Gianna & Chief. Their meeting prior to the heist was an excellent choice. I was taken aback when Dream had her own chapter but when I understood the significance that she would play in the story, it made sense. Poor Dream, I had to constantly remind myself of her age because ‘G’ definitely had her wide open, lawd! This book was nonstop twists, a love story, suspense, and all kinds of mayhem- could not put it down! All the buildup was worth it, I genuinely wished there was more of Gianna & Chief at the end. 💙
If I could give this book 10 Stars I would. First let me say there is a lot of street language. But that is how they talk in the streets. Chief & Gianna quickly fall in lust and then love. The sex was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! However, & I don’t want to give details away, Gianna finds out Chief is not who he appears to be. Dream, Chief & Santi’s teen daughter was a spoiled handful. Her 1st love drama mirrored my own teen drama. I felt like I was reading about my own life. I could not put this book down & can’t wait for the next book in this series. This is one of the best books I’ve read in a while. Ms Hall, you are an outstanding writer!
I love Cheif for Gianna, but regardless of him being upset he should have stood up for her to Santi. Santi was too self righteous for a person who has done dirt and ready to ship their child off because of one altercation. Giovanni was a misguided fool that choose to do wrong. He was ok with taking a young girls innonce although she lied about her age. Baby has a lot of growing up to do. Rome was cool. The book ended abruptly and no follow up on Cheif and Gianna.
Chief & his brothers are into various hustles. Whatever it takes to not be broke. Gianna is a baker looking to open her own bakery. Early one morning without Giannas' knowledge, they cross paths at the bank. Gianna is there for a loan to open her bakery, Chief is there to rob the place. Gianna gets caught in the robbery! Later, they meet again, exchange numbers & so begins a love story. But of course, things are too good to be true. Insert the supporting characters for the problems.
This book def had action and kept your attention. However, I didn’t feel like there was a good wrap up at the end for so much to have happened the end felt rushed. I also didn’t like how apologetic Gianna was for something she didn’t know or have control over and was also a victim in. The parents should done more in regards to looking after Dream. There was no accountable on their part just blame on Gianna.
I couldn’t put this book down. All of the twists and turns were exhilarating. The intertwining of the characters was phenomenal. That Giovanni was something else but he got exactly what he deserved. I can’t wait to read what’s next. This author did a phenomal job on this book and it’s a must read.
K.L. Hall left no stone unturned in this inaugural installment of the Heist Series. Chief and Gianna's journey to each other was something I could have never fathom if I hadn't been a fly on the wall during the entire unfolding. Gianna was a heroine I loved from page 1. Her ambition and independence are to be revered and her willingness to stand her ground when needed. Several times throughout this story, I was clutching my invisible pearls or subconsciously chomping on my fingernails at what could possible happen next. Hall is a brilliant storyteller and her ability to turn a plot-point on it's axis in a purely realistically fictional fashion is astounding. Holding my breath until the next installment of this series unfolds.
I know this is book 1 but I needs more!!! Love me some Chief and Gianna. I really thought Junie was turning over a new leaf but I guess old habits are hard to get rid of. Just hated he involved Dream in his mess a child at that and for that reason he needs to be under the jail. Gianna did what she had to do. Now on to the next!!!
Honestly i really enjoyed this book. It DEF kept my attention. I enjoyed Chef and Gianna relationship, i just didnt like how he couldnt get his anger under control when he came to the house and saw his daughters bag. I felt like he should have trusted her..... YEAH I DIDNT LIKE HIS EX WIFE....AT ALL... OVERALL GREAT BOOK>>>
Gianna and Chief a sweet love story with excitement and drama! Ex wife and a curious but naive Daughter add to the drama. Revenge and power make this book a fast great read.
I was not expecting this story to turn out the way it did!! I won’t give any spoilers but it definitely had my mouth dropping open with how everything unfolded.
I feel like Chief should have given a way longer apology than what he gave but the story was still fire. I loved the women in the story were there own person! Can't wait to read the rest of the series
I enjoyed every single page of this well written book. The crazy way this couple met, the drama they went through, and both of their crazy, dysfunctional families. The characters range from sweet to crazy with a little of everything in between. On to book two.
Giovanni is such a sick individual. He knew how old Dream was and still used her as a pawn. Chief might not make all his money the legal way but he looks after the ones he loves. Gianna that was a tough decision she had to make but she made the right one.
Okay, this story was more like an action-packed roller coaster ride for this pair. Their chance meeting at a bank would start something serious for Gianna and Dominic. A good read. 4.0 stars.
I've enjoyed every book I've ever read by K.L. Hall, and it's been quite a few. I really enjoyed Chief and Gianna's story! It was love at first site! I hate how pedophile Junie played poor Dream! All in all, an excellent story!
Gianna is a good girl who fell for a gangsta! Then there was drama along the way in the name of Giovanni who happens to be Giannas brother!!! Loved it!!!!
