Annie I sell toilet paper for a living. It doesn't seem glamorous but S#!T HAPPENS is going places. We're the fastest growing eco-toilet paper subscription service around. We're amazing—and I should know, I'm my own best customer. After years of hard work, I have everything I need to take my business to the next level—well, everything except the paper. When my competition swoops in and offers my supplier a better deal, I'm left up a certain creek without a paddle. I must have done something truly crappy in a previous life because the only person willing to help is my ex-boyfriend, Lincoln 'Linc' Garrett. The man is arrogant, infuriating, and far too attractive for his own good. Thankfully, I flushed any lingering feelings for him the moment he dumped me all those years ago. So… how did I end up in his bed?
Link Annie and I were hot and heavy in high school. We were the golden couple, ready to ride off into the sunset for our life together. Until my life went to poop and like the ass I am, I flushed everything good from it. Now she's back in town and stirring up all kinds of feelings I thought I'd purged. Feels like desire, happiness, and something that feels a whole lot like—NOPE! It's not happening. No way. No how. Or at least it wasn't. But when Annie's left with no choice but to accept my help, it seems as if my heart might have other ideas. Looks like s#!t really does happen...

Love Flushed is a quirky story of old hurts and second chances; poop and toilet paper are just the bi product of this cute tale.
"If your heart still loves him, if your soul still wants him, then maybe you need to allow it to do so."
Annie is the founder of S#!T Happens, an eco-friendly toilet paper. But when her manufacturer screws her over, it could mean the end. So accepting help from her ex boyfriend is the only option. However can Annie keep her clothes on in the company of her new business partner?
Lincoln Garrett has many regrets. Yet dealing with a flailing Paper Mill is forefront. Asking his ex to bail him out is a huge gesture. Then you can imagine his surprise when Annie accepts.
It may have been 10 years since these two broke up, but time has only made their hurt and desire evolve. Annie may agree to let Linc scratch her itch but trust is a whole different matter. Except she didn't realise that he's got completely different plans.
I wrapped a hand around her neck, using my thumb to turn her head away from me.
"What—oh God."
My teeth gently grazed her earlobe, teasing her hot spots.
"Why does this feel so good?" she asked, her body arching under mine.
"Because it's us."
I really like this author with her zany characters and stories. With the All Access series EM is touching on a different condition every book that deserves to be normalised. And in this instance it's Annie who suffers with Crohn's Disease. Throw in a burly hero who's big all over and delivers a good spanking, and this was fun and spicy.
We are book 2 in All Access series and I loved this couple!!! My heart hurt and it was lil spicy.
Lincoln and Annie have had a past and it ended on bad terms. Now they live once again in the same town and cross eachother few times.. Annie is the one who is holding a grudge since she was the one who was hurt. But she bottled that up and made something of herself the queen of toilet paper and she dealing with Crohn disease which takes alot from her. Now that her supplier backed out now she has a choice fail and lose her bussiness or team up with her ex. Now they are partners the tension is high the banter and sorta hate/love is high. But that doesnt stop Linc from getting close and wanting more and Ann from shooting him down and trying to protect her heart. These two are just so precious together. And I love Lincoln and understand why he had to break her heart all those years ago.. but I wish he manned up when he got back and not waited 10 years and made sure his woman knew where they stand.. And there friends!!! I hope Theo gets his book.. I did wish there was more spice in the book..
Low Angst, no cheating, no ow/om drama, drama, secondary charas, sexy times, no virgins (mentioned h tried dating didn't work)
Recommend-yes Cover-⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heat level- 🌶🌶🌶
Slowburn Push and pull from both but h more Crohn's disease Toxic and difficult parent relationship Spanking Tiny Breath play Addiction Safe sex Tiny daddy kink (I WANTED MORE) Hea Epilogue
I enjoyed this one and I did enjoy getting to know the characters but I also felt like something was missing. Annie and Linc's past felt underdeveloped and there was a good part of the beginning that I just felt lost. The way it was written made me think I was supposed to already know about their past. Spoiler alert: I did not. It made it a little difficult to connect to the characters and the story. As I read on it did get better and I started to really enjoy these characters but that slower start was enough to keep me from loving them. And then the ending also didn't fully leave be satisfied since I felt like there were some things we didn't get closure on.
I cannot begin to express my love for this book!! The chronic illness rep was so real and raw and honestly it was beautiful. This was a wonderful second chance, low angst, high heat romance. Evie Mitchell brings praise kink to an insane level and I’m so here for it. Linc and Annie are so sweet. Honestly, I got a little hesitant at the whole toilet paper empire premise but it’s PERFECT. UGGG. I just want to read it again!!
Cws: toxic parents, chronic illness, financial stress, on page explicit sex
Thank you so much to Evie Mitchell for the advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.
I appreciated the representation of chronic illness in this book, but found myself disconnected to the characters and their romance due to lack of relationship building. There were also quite a few unfleshed sub-plots that I felt disjointed the overall story. Really wanted to love this follow-up to the All Access series, but would unfortunately recommend Knot my Type over this read.
Ok, hear me out: yes this was weirdly centered on toilet paper. It was also great?! Anyway, read this if you need a pick-me-up and want some romance too.
Link and Annie were together in high school, but it's been years since they have been together or seen each other. Annie owns a toilet paper company inspired by her life with Chron's Disease. You need good toilet paper when you have tummy issues! Trust me I know haha! Anyway, Link is the owner of a paper factory and has to team up with Annie so both of their businesses don't go under. But the two obviously have some tension since they haven't spoken in years.
I really loved the discussion of chronic illnesses in here! It was so relatable! I love Annie's attitude and how persevering she was! She would do anything to keep her company going & I love a resilient boss lady :) I also love Link's relationship with his brother. I hope his brother becomes a hero in one of the other books in the series!!
TROPES: chronic illness rep, disability rep, second chance
3.5 Representation of chronic illnesses, second chances for love, sexy scenes and a group of characters that undoubtedly works very well because each one of them has something to tell. An entertaining and quick read.
Evie Mitchell writes a devoted MMC so freaking well. Lincoln's POV chapters with his smitten thoughts had me squealing!
The business talk was interesting, the second chance romance was second chancing, and the daddy could be sprinkled in more but I liked its inclusion regardless.
Annie's a badass and Lincoln is a sweetheart. I wanted her to give him some slack and grace after learning what he went through in the past. I understand she was hurt, it was a shitty situation, but also he didn't have it any easier. (I also wanted his mom to face some repercussions)
At the end of the day, I wish there was a bit more angst and background included, that would've really made this more substantial for me. As is? Still solid.
Side note: I could've done without "shattered" being used on what felt like every other page.
4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Love Flushed Author: Evie Mitchell Romcom
Okay Evie is adorable! Her books are hilarious. In this one, our FMC sells TOILET PAPER ROLLS! How you make a romcom out of toilet paper? Well Evie can. When a competitor swoops in and steals her deal, the only option for help ends up being her ex boyfriend Lincoln. Will their new found partnership rekindle an old flame? In true Evie fashion, this was spicy, and funny AF. These are great if you’re looking for something short, and that will definitely put you in a good mood (which we all could use some more of now days). Also I really admire how our FMC has Crohn’s disease and Evie sheds some light on this. It’s information and insightful and good for people who just don’t know. I really love her books. 🚽🧻💕
I’m giving this book 2 stars. The first star is for the Frankie and Jay content we got in this book and the second star is for the amazing representation of Crohn’s disease.
Let me start of with the positive things:
Annie is a badass. She is a confident, strong, independent woman that takes no shit (no pun intended) from anyone and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT in any romance novel.
The fact that going to the toilet, and bodily functions in general are a taboo in literature has always rubbed me the wrong way. I’m so glad that this book deals with such an important subject and doesn’t shy away from it.
HOWEVER, (onto the not so positive things) any book that gets me to the point of wanting to DNF it, or makes me grimace and cringe so bad that my face feels like it’ll be stuck like that forever, does not deserve any more than 2 stars.
I got to the first sex scene and would have 100% DNF’d it, had I not taken a glimpse at the percentage I was at and decided to power through so I could at least add it to this year’s reading goal and give it a fair review.
*SPOILERS AHEAD* Any man that calls himself daddy unironically will always genuinely disgust me. Not to mention the repeated use of “baby girl” as a pet name during sex. I think that just about did it for me.
Their sex scenes made me actually pause, breathe and try to stop visualising all the details that were triggering my fight or flight response.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am no prude, I have read some hardcore smut (and thoroughly enjoyed it) HOWEVER, I am never a fan of smut or sex scenes that feel forced. Where any speck of chemistry is sprinkled in there with the sole purpose of making the sex scene sexier, or add a small element of romance to it.
I felt like that element of romance was just not enough. The characters started off having that chemistry but ended up simply fucking like animals, their love story merely used to back up the smut and help the story wrap up in a happily ever after way.
The whole reason they broke up in the first place was brushed over, another detail that felt sprinkled in there for the sake of conflict. It just didn’t seem convincing to me and I really didn’t give a fuck about it.
I find myself in the same boat with this one as I was with the first. The disability rep and the chronic illness rep is absolutely on point and wonderful to see in contemporary romance, but the sex scenes in this are uncomfortable.
Again, this is subjective for me. I struggle with sex scenes involving vaginas on a good day but especially with straight m/f pairings. It's something about the power dynamic and the patriarchy and some internalized body shame I've got going on, but I seriously never ever want to hear the word "snatch" when referring to a vagina. It should be illegal.
This one also felt really underdeveloped in plot for me. The characters were together as young adults and it's been 10 years and I just didn't understand their relationship. There wasn't enough on page time given to them reconnecting. There was way more time spent detailing explicit scenes than actual character development. And for some people, that's totally cool. It is not a personal preference of mine. More plot than sex please for me.
This has own voices Crohn's disease representation as well as two secondary disabled characters. I do recommend it if you enjoy cishet contemporary romance.
Teddy Hamilton is a great narrator and no one can say otherwise lol
This story was sweet. A second chance romance! Loved all the secondary characters.
The only reason I docked one star is because of Annie. She just had moments where I felt like she did Link wrong. Like yeah I get that she had her issues with what happened 10 years ago. But he owned up to it, explained what happened AND still went through so much to express that to her! I just got annoyed with her a lot.
Other than that, it was a good book! Really glad Libby is a thing, the amount of audio-books I will consume is so much more!
I was delighted to immerse myself in this universe. I really loved the characters, but also their chemistry. The novel was also kinda hot and spicy! Everything the people demand. I was also happy to find Frankie and jay from the first volume. It was cute. For Annie and Linc, it was sweet, but not having a huge amount of twists was perfect. We also get to know Annie's illness and how it can affect her life. This is one thing I really liked about the novel, because the author doesn't hide the fact that it's really hard sometimes. The author's writing is very fluid and for French speakers like me, it is really accessible and understandable. So, when will the French translation be available?
Now I LOVED this book. This was #2 in Mitchell's All-Access series, and my favorite so far. I related a lot to Annie, both from a chronic illness standpoint and from a complicated past standpoint. I laughed, I cried, and I swooned at times. I loved reading along as Annie and Linc worked out their history, discovered truths, and (most importantly!!) communicated. I wish I could read this book for the first time again.
We were lucky enough to be gifted an ARC in exchange for an honest review :)
OKAY Lovelies, Let's talk about All Access book number 2, Love Flushed. Which, is 18+... hehehe.
When I saw this ARC show up in our email, I actually jumped for joy and maybe cried a bit tbh. I absolutely adore Evie Mitchell's work, and this book was no different.
Love Flushed follows Annie, a badass woman living with Crohn's disease who owns her own eco-toilet paper subscription service called S#IT HAPPENS. It also follows Linc, a man who in Annie's words is "simply far too attractive for his own good". BUT *dun dun duun* Annie and Linc have a steamy romantic history and a relationship that didn't end on the best terms...
This book takes you on an emotional journey and I promise you, it's worth it. Also, it's that spicy read you're looking for, and I'm talking good girl and praise spicy hehe. During this book, we get to see more into Annie's friend group (Frankie and Jay even make appearances, which made me so happy honestly) but also into the personal struggles she faces. After the spicey moments and adorable gestures from our boy Linc, you'll be wondering why you didn't read this book sooner. By the way, this is your sign you should read it ASAP.
The final point I'll make is the Epilogues were so cute I almost cried! I cannot wait to see what Evie blesses us with next! - Izzy
I loved the second chances romances. I think everyone deserve a second chance. An I loved how they were there and how they stand together. I would love to be that confident with my body as well. Well done
I love a chronic illness representation in romance books and this book has IBD representation and plus size rep! I loved it! Its a second chance romance and their past is really rough. It takes a lot for the characters to come together and work together after being apart for so long.
Ever since I read Knot My Type a few months ago, I've been eagerly awaiting the next instalment in Australian author Evie Mitchell's new series, All Access. The series is set in her exisiting narrative world of Capricorn Cover, and there are mentions of characters who cross over into the various series, but you can read this series (and this book) on its own if you want.
Love Flushed is a second-chance romance between Lincoln and Annie, who were teenage sweethearts who - ten years earlier - split leaving their relationship potentially irreparable. At the beginning of the book, Lincoln and his brother wrest control of the family paper mill and need a new client in order to keep the company alive. Enter Annie, the entrepreneur behind S#!T HAPPENS, a toilet paper subscription service that she started when she realised a need during a Crohn's disease flare up. Their goals are aligned and they need each other... but will spending time together again reignite previous feelings?
I had a lot of fun with Love Flushed. It does a lot of amazing work with the representation of chronic illness - in particular, Crohn's disease - in a way that calls out the way many people don't understand the day-to-day living realities those who live with chronic illness face. Lincoln often reacts the way someone who's able-bodied would and has to recognise when his ableism is coming in to play, and as a character he grows from owning up to his errors and learning from them. The story - as with all of Evie's books - is very inclusive of characters who represent the diversity that exists within communities, and while this one has a specific focus on chronic illness, there's so much scattered organically through the book that it makes you want to know more about each and every character.
Annie is a strong, determined heroine who knows what she wants (to see her company succeed) and what she doesn't (to get sucked back into the orbit of her ex... or does she?). She's holding on to a grudge, understandably, where Lincoln is concerned and while he does have a legitimate reason for ghosting her 10 years ago, he probably could have fessed up a little earlier. One thing I did really love about Lincoln is his loyalty to his brother, Theo. They had less than stellar parents growing up and so they're fiercely protective of one another.
There's a lot of steam in this book and it's all great, and purposeful - which is perhaps the most important part about them. They're there to move Lincoln and Annie's story forward rather than just being there for the sake of it.
I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the All Access series (especially Theo's book!). It was the highlight of my day when this book landed on my Kindle!
idk, the smut kinda ruined it for me but the epilogue was cute i guess, also the MC making decent toilet paper for herself bc there wasn't any on the market is *chef's kiss*
Love Flushed by Evie Mitchell Publication Date: 11/18/2021 Date Read: 07/18/2022 Format: eBook (Kindle Unlimited) Genre: Contemporary Romance Series: All Access book 2. Can be read standalone. Characters: Linc Garrett & Annie CW: chronic illness, abandonment, alcoholism, car accident Rating (❤️/👍/🤷♀️:👎/❌): 👍 Spice: open door Would I Recommend?: yes
This was also great. I read this and Knot My Type back to back. Annie is so awesome. I love her toilet paper subscription company and she’s such a boss. Linc was also a good character but I didn’t love him. UNTIL HE GOT NAKED. Evie Mitchell coming through with the pierced characters 🙌 the spicy scenes were already hot but whew. Hand on the throat, dirty talk, good girl, AND a pierced dick? Girl.
Annie has Crohn’s Disease and that’s discussed in the book in detail. Annie definitely checks Linc on ableist language. He does well catching up and acting right. Him taking care of her is a really sweet part of the book.
Great series. Can’t wait for the next one Darn Knit All! Excellent pun titles 🤣
I was looking forward to the chronic illness rep, and it was good in the ways that the author described the struggles and hardships that come with illnesses, but it just didn’t do it for me sadly.
This was good, but sadly not nearly as good as the first book for me
I really liked the characters, especially both sets of friend groups. They're lots of fun to read and I enjoyed seeing all the love and support between them. The plot was a little convenient but still fun, and I did like the chemistry between the two main characters
My main issue was with the sex scenes and the use of kink. I really really wish this had been longer so that the main characters could have actually discussed kink prior to just jumping in with all the "good girl" and "daddy" stuff. The scenes themselves were well written, but without seeing them discuss consent, limits, boundaries, all of that they ended up giving me the ick at times. The last thing you want to be doing during a spicy scene is cringing lmfao, it really took me out of the story and drastically lowered my enjoyment
Other than that, this was a great addition to this series and I can't wait to see where it goes next!
