Rate this book
From USA Today bestselling authors Willow Winters and Lauren Landish comes a sexy and forbidden series of standalone romances.

Everything has a price … and I’m willing to pay.

I trust no one. I thrive with control and I’ve learned to be ruthless and cold-hearted. I’m not interested in love, but I still have desires.

That’s where Dahlia comes in. She’s never been a submissive before and I’m eager to train her. When I saw her on stage at the auction, dressed in gold, I knew I had to have her.

She was meant to be a distraction. Nothing more.

One lie changed everything. A lie she told to hide how broken she really is.

I own her for now. She’s mine for an entire month.
But a month isn’t long enough for what I want to do with her. I don’t care what the contract says. I bought her and now she’s mine.

Willow started writing after having her little girl, Evie, December 2015. All during her pregnancy with Evie she continued to read and she only wanted to read romance. She was reading a book a day — sometimes two.

In January 2016 Willow was staying up late with Evie and just thinking of all these stories. They came to her constantly so she finally sat down and just started writing. She always wanted to do it so she figured, why not? Today Willow cannot be happier for making that decision!

I wanted smut and it delivered on that part. But at the same time, romance was kinda meh- wasn't really required and the characters were just surface level good. The pacing is also slow-ish.

This is pure erotica and BDSM, so if you're not into reading it- this will not be the book for you.

Dahila and Lucian had a good start, however slow and I saw potential in them. But their relationship never develops into more than Dom and Sub even tho they confess their love for each other. Also, the love part creeped out of nowhere. Nothing about their arrangement or interactions suggested they were in love. Had that bit been left out, I would have rated it 3.5.

I have the next three books on my physical shelf but not sure when I'll get to it 🤷‍♀️

I just want to read some smut tbh, so here we go

Billionaire sex club- It’s a world of Sin & Darkness. High-end luxury & adult playground – Membership fees is $100, per month.. So you could only imagine how high the bids can go when they have their auction once a month. …. Power, Wealth, Sex It’s all here. Under one roof

Dahlia survived abuse as a teen… She's so has been in therapy for years.. She is having trouble between financial troubles & her past sexual issues, Dahlia takes friends advice & try something new sexually.. I don’t think her friend meant for her go to Auction to be someone’s Submissive for one month or did she?

Lucian is cold, hard in so many different way.. Mostly he is workaholic. The man trust no one & honestly I wouldn’t either with his money-hungry parents & ex-wife. His parents try to rob him blind… His ex was only looking for paycheck-

It’s been almost year since he had Submissive & has given into to those basic needs …Lucian is looking for a distraction from all the stress from work & family…He decides to go to the auction to find himself a toy for the month

Will Lucian sacrificing a personal life cuz his fear of being hurt again ?
Will Dahlia retreated into herself again?

Granted this is a tough subject for some people & if you have any reservations about reading a dark romance filled with deep erotica, then this is not the book for you. However, for those that are looking for a high powered, dark, erotic read - holy macaroni! This is one that you will not want to miss!

This book felt.... unfinished.

The whole plot of the heroine finding it difficult to cum because she had a past and the hero not knowing it had SO MUCH POTENTIAL.

But it wasn't there?? Her telling her past wasn't there in the book.
The chapter ended at her agreeing to tell him and the next chapter he knows everything.

I expected this to feel very dirty taken the fact it is VERY much about the BDSM lifestyle but it didn't sadly.

So much potential in the story but everything felt like a draft.

Rough love!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎧🎧🎧
Romance: 🖤💜🤎
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📙📕📗
World building: 🌎🌏🌍
Character development: 😍😕🙃

The heroine: Dahlia - she is doing an unpaid internship which will help her in her career but it doesn’t pay the bills. So when her friend tells her how much she could make in one month if she put herself on the auction block at a BDSM club, Dahlia jumps at the chance.

The Hero(es): Lucian - he is a billionaire businessman who is also a Dom, but he doesn’t trust easily after he married a woman that turned out to be only after his money and his own family tried to steal his business and all of his money. He likes the idea of purchasing a sub at the auction because he will have her for a month with no feelings involved and she will have signed an iron clad NDA.

The story: Dahlia was abused by an uncle when she was a child and since then is only turned on by rough sex and complete submission, but she is afraid of what she wants because she thinks after what happened to her she should have gone the other direction. So the auction is the perfect chance to get her desires met and come away with a bundle of cash.

The story was steamy and centered around the fact that Lucian owned Dahlia for a month and could do whatever he wanted to her and with her. The story was ok, but nothing spectacular. The narration was good and I was glad it was done by a man and a woman. I thought the man’s voice was a bit soft for the part, but Lucian was a billionaire so it might have fit him as a gentleman.

The one thing I really disliked about this was how Lucian referred to Dahlia from the very start as his treasure, he thought of her as his treasure, called her treasure and it was all a bit too Gollum for me, like she was an object and not a person.

well, well, well, turn out ms. “i hope you get hit by a bus” and supporter of plagiarists can’t write 🫢

this was the most boring thing ever and was just genuinely not good. OH and the smut, also not good. i would think the authors were virgins honestly based on how they wrote the shit in here 🤣

also something that really bugs me, when they use the same word twice in the same paragraph. i don’t mean like “that, the, and” whatever whatever i mean words that you can use other words to substitute. i’ll just give a MADE UP, NOT REAL, example:

- I drive her to my penthouse, opening her door and ushering us inside before the rain starts. when we get upstairs i take her coat setting it on my penthouse's table. -

okay that is the shitest thing i have ever written but i’m just trying to show a point. like, just use a different word.

It was a decent read with the whole BDSM trope.
It wasn't really interesting, per se, but decent enough for a short and light read, to pass your time. Although I feel the ending was very abrupt.

I'm not really sure what to say. It was a really slow read. I didn't think it would ever end. She likes it rough because she was raped as a teenager by her uncle. He wants to fix her before he even know what's wrong with her. The sex was hot, but the ending was just weird and rushed. He's got some smokin' friends that would be interesting to find more about.

Pure escapism could have done with a little more plot- things were started in developing characters but they lacked depth. Good read though

Just ok.

I feel like this book had a lot of potential but missed the mark. I couldn’t connect with the characters because there wasn’t that much interaction between Dahlia and Lucian (aside from sex). I wish there had been more dates, more dialogue, and more chemistry. There was a lot of potential for a really emotional and wonderful story, but it fell short.

Dahlia had experienced a lot of trauma when she was younger and when the time came for her to tell Lucian about it, the chapter ends with “I’ll tell you” and the next chapter begins with Lucian already knowing everything! The author completely skipped out on Dahlia telling her story to Lucian! It was literally the WHOLE point of the book: her trauma and her hang ups around sex because of them. But for some reason, her telling Lucian about it is left out! The book had already explained what had happened to Dahlia, but her TELLING Lucian about it ought to have been a huge part of it! There could have been so much emotion, so much connection between the two of them during that scene, but it was left out entirely.

The drama with Lucian’s parents and ex wife also wasn’t fleshed out... like what happened to the book that the ex was going to write? What was Dahlia’s reaction to being in the tabloids? What was the whole story about Lucian and his parents? The book just says they used him for money, but I needed more than that! There was so much that could have been done with this story, but it was just about sex, with a little bit of plot sprinkled in, which just didn’t do it for me.

The sex scenes were great, but aside from that, there wasn’t a whole lot to the book.

Audible: Narrated by Brooke Hayden and Douglas Berger
The narration by this pair was absolutely beautiful! Each brought a depth of character that I was not expecting. Loved them separately, loved them together!

This book was so much more than I what I was expecting! I thought it would be just a hot and steamy read but it goes so much further than that. Dahlia has a painful history that can’t be ignored. Lucien as her dom recognizes there is something wrong and refuses to let it set the pace in their relationship. As a result this story delves into how this couple grow together as they work out the emotional damage that has been inflicted and rooted into Dahlia’s psyche. I loved the care and attention Lucien gave to her and her ability to finally come in from out of the darkness.

This had a very 2013/2014 type of plot which I was totally here for. It was an interesting premise but sadly it just wasn't executed well for me. It felt more like an outline of a story at times and not like a fleshed out, intriguing story. There was almost no scenes with the main characters together where they actually learned anything about the other, and the sex scenes were just bland in my opinion. There was also this entire background storyline going on with Lucian's family that was just never resolved and felt forgotten about which was weird.

Yes yes yes yes yes

I liked this, it was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. This is a BDSM, dom/sub kink relationship between Lucian and Dahlia. They had some great chemistry and I got lots of butterflies while reading (; Also was very fast paced. The only thing is there is a bit too much miscommunication that makes them go back and forth on the same issues.

3.5 Stars.

Lucian had everything I love in a good Dom, he was strong, self assured and caring. On his own he would have gotten all the stars.

While I loved Lucian, I didn't particularly like Dahlia. I found issue with the fact that she thought she was only subby because she had been abused and her disgust with her need to be dominated in bed.
I'm all for characters having a backstory, I just would have liked her a lot more if she was just a normal person that wasn't ashamed to be kinky.

The romance was quick and enjoyable, overall this was a fun read.

Beautiful love story between Lucian and Dahlia.
A story about getting over the dark past, testing your limits and trusting someone with your secrets.
I loved the BDSM relationship between the h and H, how he respected her needs yet pushed her to give more.
It's a HFN but we've been promised glimpses of the couple in next book of the series.
It was darker than I expected but I really enjoyed the dynamics between them.
Only tiny issue is the abruptness and how rushed the last 1/4th of the book was.
Safe read

So much of this book is trite, and there are grammar and word usage that grated on me. Mostly the first person POV was forced and strange on occasion: My brow furrows, and a frustrated sigh leaves my lips. No one thinks that their brow furrows. That said, the hero and heroine were likable, and for once someone with issues was actively getting therapy. So 2 stars gets bumped to 3.

Book One: Dahlia & Lucian
*self-purchased on Amazon. No need of sugar daddies called promo teams*

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
Dahlia is Lucian’s for a month. D/s. IDK what else to say without spoiling it.

I’ve read W. Winters before, but I’ve never read Lauren Landish. It’s been a long time since I last read a BDSM novel. Therefore, this was a refreshing read. It was a page-turner. I actually read the entire series in a matter of TWO days. I enjoyed reading about these characters as they seemed fully fleshed out and their issues were complex. Dahlia was relatable and not a fluffy glorified version of what her trope is. When she came together with Lucian or let’s just say it as it is: WHEN SHE SOLD HERSELF TO HIM (it’s less creepy than it sounds, rich people shit and all), their chemistry was off the chain. Lucian was the first guy in the series with, as I found out later when I finished the four books, the same issues as the others. Money. Moms. Money. Sex. Yay. Still, he was the first one of the series, so he was all right after all, quite adorable in some parts of the novel, too. This was a solid read and when it ended, I immediately started reading the second book.
I recommend this to readers who are looking for a dark read on the lighter side, BDSM adventures and tortured leading ladies that occasionally sound like gold diggers without actually being one (AT LEAST THAT’S WHAT THESE BOOKS SAY LOL).

ORIGINAL COMMENT: Cute lil read. Grey could never. Hahahahahhahahhahahahahahahhahaha

WHY HELLO RANDOM ASS HOT MAN COVER THAT I FOUND TODAY.

Bought was such a good book! I completely devoured this whole bdsm book. Even though I was getting those god damn terrible 50 shade vibes, I liked it. Which kind of reminds me that I should sort of maybe force myself to reread that series and giver an actual review/real rating. Oh lordy, I will need a lot of alcohol for those.

In this book, you will meet Dahlia and Lucian. They both had pasts that they would rather forget that didn't happen.. but it always came to bite them in the ass. Dahlia's past was that she was abused and raped by her own uncle. The sick thing about it was that he dad knew and let it all happen anyways. I almost threw up in my mouth when I was diving into this book because I was not expecting that shit.

Then there's Lucian and his one mistake was his ex-wife. She was just a gold-digging whore who just wanted his money. Heck, she still wants his money. She just really needs a job so she can make her own damn money but no, she's lazy af. Besides her, his own parents just want his money. They already frustrated me and I never even met the two.

Now I liked these two. the bdsm smut was okay, but I've read better. I kind of wished it was a bit darker and more smuttier - but hey, I still enjoyed the book. These two had amazing chemistry so it was pretty predictable that they were going to end up together at the end.

Overall, I liked this book enough that I got the next two all lined up to dive into. Bring on the smut!

There were so many scenes that were set up and just not shown. It also felt kind of choppy and rushed even though there was 300+ pages. The MMC’s character was a little all over the place but it was a quick and easy read.

Ugh. This story had so much potential but the plot was mired with thick muck made up of emotional garbage that didn't even get resolved. The whole "can't get off without being forced" thing has been done before, by Jade West, and she did an AMAZING job of it. This story was so...weepy and angsty and self-deprecating--on both the H/h sides--that there just wasn't any solid ground on which to settle the characters. They were all over the place. The sex was meh. The relationship was tepid and felt so shallow. I have no idea where all the love developed, because the real emotional tension was hidden behind rough sex and long, boring scenes of negative introspection.

This book was exhausting.

Also, if you're going to threaten the hero with her ex-wife throughout the story, there needs to be some sort of critical moment. It was like the whole issue with her just fell off the face of the earth...along with any form of birth control. There was no talk of the pill or condoms, just a lot of ejactulation in wet holes.

I wanted to like this story, but it just read like the author rushed through it because she realized her deadline was approaching and she needed to give the editor something.

My first read from both authors. Heard of this book from Ms. Winters' tiktok. A good read if you're looking for a sub/dom relationship story. Didn't hate it nor enjoy it. I wouldn't really call this a smut book as it is plot-driven (in my opinion); this is more like a moderate spicy book.
Feel free to give it a try if the synopsis intrigues you!

0.5 - this was. really bad. but not like terrible. just really base level neutral bad. the smut was so boring and rushed and bland and tbh the story as a whole was rushed too. there was not a single morsel of chemistry between the two of them and quite frankly i have no idea why they like each other bc they don’t KNOW each other !!
