Once again Paisley finds a dead body in one of her salvage jobs. But each story is different enough and the mysteries are complex enough to keep them interesting. And I enjoy how Paisley’s research and her friends’ and family’s local knowledge helps Santiago solve the crimes. Plus the author isn’t afraid to incorporate difficult topics into her books. But I had to take one star away from this book because it seemed out of character for Santiago to put Paisley in danger without tapping into her father or uncle’s local knowledge first.

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

Blood and Back Stitches is the seventh book in this series. This is one of my favorite cozy mystery series. Every time I get a new book I am excited to dive in. This series is so good and I love the mix of great mysteries, the historical and salvaging aspects and the daily life of Paisley. I can't recommend this series enough.

Blood and Back Stitches has a great mystery. This book had some interesting twists and turns. There is a dead body, a kidnapped woman and more. There are some coincidences, which clearly aren't coincidences that all contribute to the mystery. It took a long time before the complete picture emerged, but I like how it felt that every chapter got the characters closer to the truth. There are multiple aspects to this mystery and there is some danger for Paisley as well. I really enjoyed seeing this mystery play out.

Besides the mystery we see more of Paisley as well. Her son is starting school, her romance with the sheriff is going well, her business is doing well and she has a new salvage job. She dives into the history and past of the characters involved to understand more of the past and connections between familiar. Then there are the family and friends she has around her and it's just such a joy to read about Paisley and her life.

To summarize: This was another great read! I enjoyed following this mystery and seeing how things play out. There are plenty of twists and turns and multiple mystery threads involved. It felt like each chapter got us closer to the whole truth and it was exciting seeing the mystery play out. There is some danger as well. I also liked reading about Paisley's daily life, seeing her interact with her son and her boyfriend. She also has some great family and friends around her and it's just so fun to read about her. I look forward to the next book!

I’m always excited to receive my ARC from the author and, once again, this one didn’t disappoint. Poor Paisley finds another body as she checks out a log cabin she has to dismantle. Trying to find out who the person is and how he came to be there sends Paisley into the world of kidnapping, organ harvesting and another secret her town has kept quiet. Plenty of twists and turns to keep us absorbed and page turning. Another great story of town secrets, wonderful family, good friends and a serious topic highlighting the fact that organ harvesting can go on right under our noses and we just don’t understand the signs.

Another visit with Paisley brings about lots of crazy antics. For a second I thought, "Wow, this is a wild set of circumstances." Then I rememebered I was reading about Paisley and realized it was normal for her. Of course all the wild circumstances brought about several twists and turns. And I did not see them coming, so I was surprised several times. This might be one of my favorite in the series.
I recieved a copy of the book. This is my review.

There is definitely a lot of action in this book. Paisley had a new salvage job to do. We know what occurs when she goes inside to look around. I really enjoy these books.

I received a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion.

This is a wonderfully absorbing book. The wonderful characters grab your attention and the intriguing plot, which covers a serious topic, keeps you focused right through the last sentence.

I stayed up reading into the wee hours of the morning, telling myself, "Just one more page. I'll read just one more page." It's an excellent story!

I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this terrific book and couldn't resist buying it for myself. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a great story.

This was a book that grabbed my attention right from the start and kept me on the edge of my seat through the whole story. It was fast moving and you could feel the town coming together to solve the murder and kidnapping.

Paisley Sutton has gotten into more than she alone can handle. Between a murder, a kidnapping and illegal organ harvesting and donations, it's a race to see what happens next. Great book. Really enjoyed it.

I am voluntarily reviewing this book after receiving it free from the author.

My thoughts: ACF Bookens tells powerful stories and this one is no exception. Paisley and her friends discover some very dark and disturbing secrets in this book. I do like the core characters and the dialogue feels real. I also like the relationship between Paisley and Santiago.

Story wise, this should be an easy 5 star but I noted 20 typos/errors that should easily have been caught with a more thorough proof reading and editing. The errors included letters missing/added to words, missing/added words and one instance of a character being given the wrong last name. If it had only been a few typos, I would not have deducted stars but 20 is just beyond ignoring and was too distracting from an otherwise good read.

Another salvage site and another body. Paisley Sutton wants her salvage company to succeed but so many times she has found a body on a site. This time it’s at a log cabin to be dismantled when she and Saul come across the body. Paisley calls her boyfriend, Sheriff Santiago Shifflett and soon the site is once again a crime scene. While searching for clues surrounding the cabin, they find an abandoned campsite and when they ask around, they discover there is a missing person who may be related to the dead body found nearby. This excellent series delves into the lives of folks in the small community and often find relationships that should be left undiscovered. Paisley and Santiago are a formidable team and I enjoy this wonderful series. This is my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book.

Paisley gets herself mixed up in a murder again, but will Santi (local Sheriff and her boyfriend) be able to save her?

Set in Octonia County, Paisley and Saul (her Best Friend's Uncle) are reclaiming a house for her salvage business. However, she stumbles across a body in the house and things go from bad to worse.

When a local girl goes missing Paisley and Santi try to find out where she is, and who took her. It takes then down a road in which Paisley is put in danger, again.

Sawyer is at preschool now and loving it, but he really good at finding clues.

This is a wonderful cozy mystery series, if you like this one, try the St Marins Cozy mystery series by the same author, it's just as good.

Each book is a standalone mystery, but the main characters remain the same, so it's best to read the books in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and series.

Paisley has teamed up with Saul to take apart an old building and move it to another location and put it back together. She also has high hopes of repurposing some of the items and selling some for profit. Unfortunately, fate has stepped in and stopped their work.

Meanwhile Paisley and Sheriff Santiago Shifflett are getting cozy. Sawyer is also enjoying being with the Sheriff.

In the meantime there are situations going on that cause Paisley’s friends to gather together and help find the perpetrators who are scaring and killing people.

There is a lot of action and suspense in this book that kept drawing me to read and finish it. The author has written a thrilling story that I look forward to reading what happens next.

Paisley is really growing into her expanding salvage business, as well as her relationship with Santiago- a childhood beau turned Sheriff - and her very much loved and growing closer heart connections

Her boy Sawyer is starting preschool and loving it, a bittersweet milestone. The growing connections between Sawyer, Paisley and Santiago are sweet and touching- a nifty midlife romance post divorce

The latest salvage project turns up another dead body, and a living person in jeopardy

Can Paisley help Santiago and his team move fast enough to save them?

Touching whodunnit and small town ups and downs story.

Blood And Back Stitches is book #7 in the Stitches in Crime series by ACF Bookens.

Paisley Sutton is offered a job of tearing down a log cabin. Just before work starts, a body is discovered. It is difficult on Paisley to keep finding bodies.

There was a lot going on in this book. I love how Paisley’s family and friends are there when she needs them. Sawyer is growing up, Paisley and Santiago’s relationship is progressing, and her business is doing well. When the body was discovered, I never could have guessed how it would wrap up. I couldn’t put it down!

I received an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Paisley and Sawyer, my favs

This book is set mostly on the Blue Ridge Parkway, one of my favorite historical areas. ACF Bookens has a wonderful way of drawing you into her tales and this one is no exception. She keeps the narrative going without getting bogged down in excessive description. I can usually devour one of her books in a couple of hours. This series really makes me wish I could find the time to get back to needlework!
Good mystery that gives plenty of characters as possible villains. I love that she ties in a social need into the storyline - this time it is organ donors needed.

Folks, this book has so much that is near and dear to my heart - first, Paisley, my girl. And of course, Sawyer, my boy (modeled after my own precocious, beautiful boy).

But also, there's some history of the displacement of people from my part of Virginia when the Shenandoah National Park came in. It's a history that has left a lot of pain for people around here, and I find myself returning to the story again and again.

I so hope you enjoy the book, and thanks for leaving a review if you do.

This time Paisley is rehabing and cleaning out an old cabin with Mika‘s uncle Saul and OMG what did they find… A dead body! I I listen to this the first day I got it in the narrator is starting to sound like an old friend. This is such a great fun cozy mystery and is always good for a quick read in a mysterious listen. I love Paisley and I love her with her boyfriend this is what I would call sweet and clean murder. I received this bookfrom Audiobooks Empire but I’m totally and happily leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

I received a free advance review copy of this book and am voluntarily providing my honest review. I was so excited to receive this ARC that I stopped what I was doing and sat down to read. Again, Bookens did not disappoint and wrote a great book. After finding a dead body in a cabin that Paisley was going to tear down she also discovered that someone had been kidnapped. I recommend this book and can't wait for the next one.

Paisley's latest project, the salvaging of a pioneer cottage, leads her and her boyfriend, Sheriff Santiago, to the investigation of a murder, a kidnapping and the community's worst kept criminal secret.
This is another of those well written "cozy" mysteries that has just enough intrigue, suspense and danger for the characters to make it interesting without being disturbingly violent.
An enjoyable read and a well read audio book.

I really love her series, but the more I advance, the more I take umbridge with her plot structure. While linking the victim to the killer requires some work on behalf of the reader (which I appreciate), the connection between the killer and the location they choose to dispose of the body borderlines naiveté. I get to the end of the book and all I can think of is "well that was stupid of them, wasn't it?". I'd appreciate more creativity and a higher degree of intelligence from the killers.

characters that feel like family

Seven books - and now seven wonderful adventures! This time I learned more about Irish migration, and the anguish of losing land to highways. That is certainly a truth I could relate to. The author’s character development is amazing. Each book gives her readers more depth about each of the main characters and about their relationship to each other. 💕

Paisley is taking down a log cabin when she sees a body - we’re taken down a journey of two murders, a kidnapping, black market organ dealings, and multiple attempts on Paisleys life. This was a wild one.

It seemed so out of character for paisley to put sawyer in danger the way she did at one scene and the threads barely flowed together for me here so 3/5

I loved this book, but as I started reading, I felt like I was losing my mind. The book opens with Sawyer about to start preschool and sleeping in his own bed for the first time. However, the last book ended with a description of those same things. Also, I felt like a whole page was missing at one point. Please tell me I’m not alone here.

Another awesome story!
Didn't like that the cat lady got killed, but how awesome it was that she could leave her house to her cats and have someone care for them!
Really funny that the poor lady who accidently let a raccoon in her house thinking it was her cat could call the sheriff to come and remove it!
Thrilled that Paisley and Santi are getting married, and looking forward to more!

I loved this story. It had a lot of action but really made me try to figure out the killer. Paisley, her son - Sawyer, and boyfriend, Santiago, are fun and entertaining. I like how Sawyer is a part of the story. Wonderful read.

I am being more fond of Paisley and Sawyer with each adventure. The small town filled with friends and family make for both good and bad. The information I learned about salvaging old structures is just frosting on this cake. I am reviewing this ARC voluntarily.
