She’s too good to be true and he’s her worst nightmare…

Sasha Masters Manwaring, the youngest president’s daughter, is satisfied with the path she’s chosen: she lives in picturesque upstate New York, teaches dance, is close to her sisters and stays out of the public eye. But it’s love at first sight for Dan Lawson and when he sweeps her off her feet, there’s nothing she can do about it. Even if her feelings tell her something isn’t right about him.

Kathryn Shay is a lifelong writer. At fifteen, she penned her first 'romance,' a short story about a female newspaper reporter in New York City and her fight to make a name for herself in a world of male journalists - and with one hardheaded editor in particular. Looking back, Kathryn says she should have known then that writing was in her future. But as so often happens, fate sent her detouring down another path.

Fully intending to pursue her dream of big city lights and success in the literary world, Kathryn took every creative writing class available at the small private women's college she attended in upstate New York. Instead, other dreams took precedence. She met and subsequently married a wonderful guy who'd attended a neighboring school, then completed her practice teaching, a requirement for the education degree she never intended to use. But says Kathryn, "I fell in love with teaching the first day I was up in front of a class, and knew I was meant to do that."

Kathryn went on to build a successful career in the New York state school system, thoroughly enjoying her work with adolescents. But by the early 1990s, she'd again made room in her life for writing. It was then that she submitted her first manuscript to publishers and agents. Despite enduring two years of rejections, she persevered. And on a snowy December afternoon in 1994, Kathryn Shay sold her first book to Harlequin Superromance.

Since that first sale, Kathryn has written twenty-one books for Harlequin, nine mainstream contemporary romances for the Berkley Publishing Group, and two online novellas, which Berkley then published in traditional print format.

Kathryn has become known for her powerful characterizations - readers say they feel they know the people in her books - and her heart-wrenching, emotional writing (her favorite comments are that fans cried while reading her books or stayed up late to finish them). In testament to her skill, the author has won five RT BookClub Magazine Reviewers Choice Awards, three Holt Medallions, two Desert Quill Awards, the Golden Leaf Award, and several online accolades.

Even in light of her writing success, that initial love of teaching never wavered for Kathryn. She finished out her teaching career in 2004, retiring from the same school where her career began. These days, she lives in upstate New York with her husband and two children. "My life is very full," she reports, "but very happy. I consider myself fortunate to have been able to pursue and achieve my dreams."

Gosh I've come to realize that there's literally nothing Kathryn Shay cannot write that I won't crave more of, and Lie With Me is no exception. In fact, in keeping with tradition, this book is now my favorite to date LOL! Sasha likes to keep a very low profile despite the fact that she's a daughter of a former POTUS which is probably why she likes to stay out of the spotlight. She meets Dan, who isn't who he said he was, and man I wasn't his biggest fan with all his lying liar ways. Of course little did he know that he would find himself with real feelings towards Sasha, and is actually starting to feel bad, but of course when all is revealed, he will have a very real uphill battle since he really stepped in it. Will Sasha forgive him?! See, another fantastic thing about this author is the heroines are always strong so you really need to hit those one click buttons to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Lie With Me by Kathryn Shay is one that may seem confusing at first with all the characters but one thing for sure is it all comes full circle in a way Kathryn Shay knows how to do it. I loved seeing the whole family back again but in a way it is more of Sasha and where she goes from the deceit and betrayal that she never saw coming. Danny is so not what I expected considering he just came in with Annalise's story and boy is this one man you have to keep a watch on. Not only do we see Sasha dealing with Danny but we see a father torn about protecting his family and becoming the bad person in one daughter's eyes. Sasha may seem like the strongest one but when it comes down to it we all need our family. So much more to see in this family and cannot wait to see what she does with the next daugther in this family.

Loved Sasha's story, the youngest daughter of the ex president. Content as an owner of a dance studio, still close to sisters but her life will turn upside down when she meets Dan. Dan is keeping a big secret from Sasha and her family, but soon the truth will come out and might endanger the first family. Will Sasha's heart stay true to Dan?

I am loving this family, love how close the sisters are in thick and thin. A great story that kept me turning the pages. This is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

A good story but.......

If I could give this story 2.5, that's what it would be more than a three stars. But the story was, the story was good don't get me wrong the story was a good story but it was the way it was put together that was a little frustrating. The story felt choppy. As in the scenes didn't flow together. And so then the story felt as if it was just put together a piece by piece by piece as opposed to flowing from one to the next and that's where it was difficult. Difficult to follow. And that makes it a frustrating story.

I also found it frustrating the way that the two main characters came together because it wasn't realistic.

I did enjoy the story. I did enjoy it because the story itself was actually kind of cute and entertaining. But how is story is put together is just as important as the story itself. And I think that's what bothers me about this story. Is the way that it was put together. That's what didn't flow.

Sasha Masters is a dancer who owns DanceWorks in Rockford, NY. She recently met Dan West under false pretenses. He claims to be a student saving money so he can afford to get his PhD from Cornell in Agricultural Studies, but is actually an investigative journalist investigating the Manwarings. He’s living a double life, and it is taking a toll on him. Nevertheless, this intriguing story has several twists and turns and a few unexpected villains. There are multiple challenges facing the Masters-Manwaring family, and Dan hopes to be there to discover the truth. It turns out that he really ends up liking Sasha and has to face a dilemma with his decision to pursue his investigation or not.

This is an interesting story that delves into some realistic family dynamics. Of course, the family involved is the family of a former US president, so parts of what they face aren’t realistic for most people. Regardless, the feelings that they experience at times are universal even if you’re a former president or one of his family members. The tension stays taut throughout, as readers know that at some point, Dan will have to come clean about his purpose. When he finally does, the ramifications are immediate. The family and community dynamics are wonderful most of the time, yet can be heartbreaking at other times. Ms. Shay does a wonderful job of creating characters that readers will love!

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This is the second book of this series. While it is a part of a series involving the former President’s daughters, you don’t have to read the first one to thoroughly enjoy and understand this.

I adore how Ms. Shay writes her stories. We get multiple POVs here not just the 2 main characters. The characters become like friends and getting that glimpse really helps to connect and sometimes reconnect with characters. I also like the continuation of prior couples that are written about. It helps to keep them “alive”

Sasha is the youngest of the daughters. She has a special ability to feel things about the people she loves. Danny Larson (aka Dan West) is hired by Sasha’s sister Hannah to help out at her self-sustaining farm when she suffered an accident (it is played out in the prior book). He is an undercover journalist there to do an expose on the family.

There is a LOT going on here. I was kept guessing all the way through here as to who was the actual “villain” here in this story. I was completely hooked right from the beginning and kept guessing (unsuccessfully I might add) all the way through. The action was all throughout the book and didn’t stop.

This is a sexy read without going into too much graphic detail so if you don’t like that, I would skip over that. I wouldn’t miss out on this wonderful story though!

This is the second book in Kathryn Shay’s “The President’s Daughters” series. It is the story of Sasha and Dan.

Sasha is youngest daughter of a former president of the United States. She is considered the most fragile of them all and is treated accordingly. Because of this, Sasha is sheltered, naïve, and only sees the good in everyone and everything. Therefore, when she meets Dan, who is a worker on her sister’s farm, she is completely fooled by his good looks and all of his loving attentions toward her.

Unfortunately, Dan has an ulterior motive. However, it takes awhile before the reader knows exactly what’s going on. The author, skillfully and slowly, only gives us small bits and pieces about Dan’s mysterious background. In fact, I was so curious about him that all I wanted to do was read ahead (I forced myself to not do that) or to read faster (which is what I actually did).

It is great fun watching the relationship between the sisters. Because of their lifestyle as The President’s daughters, they are all very close and rely on each other for advice and support in their lives.

This book is also a romantic suspense book that will keep the reader on the edge of their seat.

I loved it!

Sasha's not one that wants attention on her so she's moved to Upstate New York and opened a dance studio. She's well liked and respected in her community and does a great deal to help others. When her building has a fire and it puts her tenant out of business, Sasha brings everyone together to rebuild. She's caught the attention of the fireman that handled the fire and tries dating him but there is just no connection on her part. Sasha has been attracted to Danny, the man that works on her sister's farm. He too, has always been attracted to her but we soon learn he isn't who we think he is. There's a dark secret in his past and he has quite an agenda. As things come to a head and we learn what he's involved in and why it puts the former First Family in danger. The question is, will Danny's attraction to Sasha be more important that "righting" the past and can Sasha and her family accept Danny for who he really is. This is the 2nd book in this series but can be read as a standalone. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Book 2 of the President’s Daughters is Sasha’s story. There is a lot of drama in Lie With Me. There are several characters who aren’t what they seem, the President is still trying to run his daughter’s lives and keep them safe. We have a bit of mystery in trying to figure out who the real bad guy is along with Sasha and her hero trying hard not to fall in love. I really enjoyed book one in this series so I was looking forward to book two. I really like President Jim and his wife as well as the daughters. They all have an interesting relationship with each other and the love they have for their family is obvious. The dialogue between Jim and his wife is quite entertaining also there was a serious side to their relationship in this story. I love the plot, it was well written and easy to read. However, I did not like Dan Larson’s character. I can’t really explain why without giving away a bit of important parts of the story. So I’ll leave it at that as my personal opinion. Lie With Me is a good second book in this series and I look forward to the next sister getting her HEA.

Dan Lawson had a plan. The plan however, did not include feelings. When Dan first saw Sasha he knew things were about to get way more complicated. He has to stick to his plan if he wants to get his goal. A goal that could ruin everything Sasha stands for. Sasha is happy living her life away from being the former presidents daughter. She is usually good at trusting her instincts and there is something different about Dan that she can't quite place. As curious incidents begin to happen, will Sasha find out Dan's secret before it's too late? Dan soon finds out hes not the only one who has caught Sasha's eye. This book has strong family values and it seems that when someone happens to one sister, the whole family gets involved. This book has everything you would want. I really enjoyed reading this book and I can't wait til the next book in the series.

Lie With Me is the story about the second daughter of the former president. Sasha Masters has moved to upstate NY and taken her mother’s maiden name to live a quiet life as a dance instructor and out of the limelight as a former President’s daughter. Sasha lives a quiet life and her sister Hannah lives not far away. Hannah hired a Danny Larson to help her around her farm and Sasha was drawn to him from their first meeting. But Danny isn’t quite who he seems – he is really in Rockford to write an expose on the former first family. He never planned to really fall for one of the former President’s daughters. When Danny’s past brings trouble to Rockford, his identity is revealed and he and Sasha must work through the lies and deception. It was a great book and can’t wait to read Hannah’s next!

"lie With Me" is the second book in the series of The Presidents daughters by Kathryn Shay. This is the story of Sasha Masters who move to upstate New York and open a dance studio. She wanted a quiet life away from all the fuss. Danny Larson aka Dan West is hired by her sister to help out at her farm. Dan real profession is an undercover journalist seeking out a story. He puts all their lives in jeopardy because of the past stories he's written. Danny has feelings for Sasha but will let that get in the way of the story he researching. The story is well told and a page turner. I would certain recommend it for you to read I was given as advance copy for my honest review of the book. I happened to enjoy Kathryn Shays books

I enjoyed the story of Sasha and Dan. They have a connection that pulls strongly at them even with their ups and downs. The story has great suspenseful moments, things that kept the pages turning. I like Sasha, she's full of heart and how she helps others is great. Dan has secrets, and I think that was handled well. What keeps this from being a five star read, is that there's so much going on with the other characters that pull from the main couple of the story. Overall, the story had me pulled in and am looking forward to more from this series.

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Sasha is so far my favorite of the Mainwaring daughters, but I struggled with Dan’s redemption. Sasha is a dancer, owner of the DanceWorks studio, and she meets and becomes involved with Dan – in the area and involved with her under false pretenses. However, Liam, the fire lieutenant is also interested in her, but nothing is as it seems. The family dynamic in this book is possibly the most fascinating part, particularly the woman power against their father/husband. The conclusion is particularly satisfying, and again Kathryn Shay leaves the reader wanting more.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I could not put it down. It is fast paced with never a dull moment. There was so much going on with the Manwaring family it makes me want to go back and reread those books. Danny was a very interesting character and his interest in Sasha was for a career gain. Sasha has turned out to be a very strong woman who stands up to her dad. He disappoints her in a major way. Can the Manwarings recover from their fractured feelings? This five star book by Kathryn Shay is a must read.

This is the second in the series about ex President Jim Maiwarings daughters and it is another example of Katherine Shays great books!

Sasha Masters who has dropped the Mainwaring name in order to escape the notoriety her name entails is living a delightful small town life when her sisters farmhand falls for her. Unknown to everyone, he isn’t a farmhand, he’s a journalist who is writing an expose on Sasha’s family and Sasha falls for him also. This is a great story with many subplots.

I received an ARC copy of this and read it for no renumeration.

Wow! What can I say? This book keeps you wondering what is going to happen next! I could not put this book down. I love Sasha & her sisters! Dan and the President made me so mad multiple times during the book but I understand! I really liked Liam and rooted for him in the beginning (because who doesn’t love a fireman?) well, no more haha I was left confused with the character Billy. If anyone figures him out, let me know! I cannot wait for Hannah’s story next! This is a great series!

This book had it all, suspense, romance, twists, turns and surprises!! Sasha uses her mother’s maiden name so she can live quietly and have her own dance studio in a small town. She is being pursued by local firefighter, Liam but is attracted to her sister’s farmhand, Danny. Danny has secrets of his own. Who will she choose? I didn’t want to put it down and I didn’t want it to end. This is book 2 of a series, can’t wait for the others. Kathryn Shay never disappoints!!

This is an excellent 2nd book in The President's Daughters series. Sasha and Dan's story is intense but they are great together. This book does need to be read as part of the series or the reader will have a lot of unanswered questions - it is not a stand alone. I highly recommend the series to this point and can not wait for the rest of the series.

Can undercover lies be forgiven…

I like the story even though I’m not into the “feelings” Sasha got. It took a while to like Danny, but he did want that redemption. Carrying on the stories of all of the sisters was an appreciated, especially going forward with the series. It was worth the read.

All the Presidents Women

While I enjoyed the suspense of this story, I read it without reading the first book. It was difficult to follow some of the sister lines. I felt like I was missing details that would have made the story easier to understand. I enjoyed meeting the Manwaring family and the people of the small town of Rockford.

Lie with Me is the second book in The President’s Daughters series and it keeps getting better and better.

Sasha Manwaring wants nothing to do with politics and is loving her life in upstate New York, near one of her sisters and teaching dance. One tragic night that sees her neighbour lose her business to a fire but only leaves Sasha’s with smoke damage sees Sasha working closely together with who she thinks is her sister’s farm hand.

Dan West is an investigative reporter who is after a story on President Manwaring and his family and isn’t going to let anything stop him. He’s been working as a farmhand trying to dig up information on the previous President and his daughters but instead finds himself becoming involved with Sasha.

This story was filled with twists and turns and was extremely enjoyable!

I can’t wait to read what happens in the next book!

I felt this was a cliff note version of a book. There was so much in the book but it felt like bullet points. And what’s with calling their parents by their first names and then switching to mom and dad. This book was just not for me.

Good story

Shay's stories are favourite because they tell something extraordinary! The kind of love between Sasha and Danny is awesome because it went strong after trials and challenges.
