I enjoyed this at first but then it just turned into an exhausting back and forth between the two guys.

This book took me several weeks to read. I started it and found it a bit boring, but for some reason kept it on my kindle. Then every so often when I finished a book and didn't feel like starting a new one, I'd read a chapter or two. Overall it was pretty bland and meh. I don't think the characters behaved like realistic people, or like a realistic couple, or like realistic college students for that matter. I basically already forgot what the book was about.

My favourite so far in the series

I love a good opposites attract romance, especially when it comes with a jock and a nerdy geek type.
I love it even more when the jock catches feelings and he's not sure what to do about it when the nerdy guy is more standoffish.
Here I had both those things but what stopped it scoring higher was the tension causing plot device, which I felt just didn't really justify the angsty reaction.
That said, it wasn't out of the realms of possibility and it didn't drag on for ages. But I'd have preferred a more solid build up to it happening as it felt a bit thrown in.
I really liked both Nash and Rendon, and it was great to catch up with Shaw and Bishop from book two.

December 6, 2019I don’t know how to rate this so I’m leaving that part blank. I liked...parts of it. I wasn’t a fan of the first book in this series. I did enjoy the second one more but still wasn’t over the moon about it. But when I read that one I was way into getting Nash and Rendon’s book. There was stuff to like with this. Nash and Rendon were so cute together. Really sweet. But this book was too long and the drama at the end seemed unrealistic and OTT. So I don’t know what I think. I know this review is super helpful. 😂

What I enjoy about this series is that the books are short, so there is no unnecessary drama. Also the characters are great and developping accordingly. This series is a perfect sunday read.

This isn't quite the worst romance I've read this year, but it is a close second. I didn't hate it, but all but one aspect were disappointing.
The one thing that made this a two instead of a one star read? The repeated emphasis on consent. Everything else was so incredibly disappointing.
The characters were made of cardboard, Ren read way too young (made this a little squicky for me), and the writing was all tell and no show. I was supposed to believe in insta-love built on chemistry, but there simply was no chemistry, no matter how many times the author tried to shove that thought down my throat.
I didn't believe any of this, nothing made sense, I didn't care at all, and in all honesty I mostly finished this for the sake of not ending up having wasted several hours on something I couldn't even review. I vastly preferred the two preceding novellas, even though they weren't all that special either.
I won't be continuing with Crow's other work.

This was...unnecessarily long and slow. In Bishop and Shaw's story it seemed as though Nash and Ren were gonna have this epic romance, I was geared up for it guys, then I started this book and all my hopes remained that - hopes.

Nash and Rendon were super hot and intense.
I really enjoyed this book. It was an interesting take on when a football player hook up master meets his match.
Rendon definitely put Nash through the wringer but the eventual HEA made it worth the angst.
I hope Tristan is next in book 4!

Awesome New Adult
I love Baylin's NA mm romance series. Her characters are usually so endearing. Rendon and Nash aren't different. I loved the cameos of Shaw and Bishop. Wish I had more of a glimpse of Torin but that's cool. I do hope the next book is about Memphis and although Jesse overstepped there's something broken about him that makes me want him to have a redemption story. Anyway, I loved this book. Kept me smiling. Shaw and Bishop are still my fave, and I loved how much of them I got in this book.

Recovered Fumble is the third book, and first full length novel, in the Sugar Land Saints serie by Baylin Crow. I'm really loving this series. This book is about Nash and Rendon, Shaw's (second book) little brother. I loved Nash and Randon so much.

this was an enjoyable story.. some spots annoyed me.. some spots i just thought about screaming but overall i liked it a lot. good storyline.. good characters.. and i enjoyed the writing. very good

It's almost like the series gets worse as it progresses.

How Nash can go from fucking anything that moves to being in insta love with Ren is pretty unbelievable, not the story line-just the way Crow writes it. It feels so forced. Plus Ren has like this whole diva-playing-hard to get thing going on, for no freaking reason at all.
To top it off we have manifested drama in the form of Jesse from Nash's past. 🙄🙄🙄Give me a break.

Loved Rendon and Nash! Ever since the end of Broken Play, I've been dying to read their story and finally seeing Nash thrown completely off his game. Starting his first year at college, Rendon is supposed to be keeping his distance from Nash... but it's certainly hard to do when Nash is completely enamoured with him and wants the furthest thing from distance. It's clear Rendon feels the same way but after their brief encounter before the Summer, he isn't too keen on being a plaything and getting hurt. Nash is a completely adorable surprise though, and the way he treats Rendon and is fiercely protective of him made me just about melt.
Recovered Fumble is extremely well-written and deliciously enticing, featuring a cocky, confident player falling for his teammate's geeky, inexperienced and adorable younger brother. It was everything I was hoping for!

Thought this was an OK read, which was overly long, and could've been wrapped up a lot quicker than it was. I had a few issues with the book, namely Rendon's immaturity, he often seemed much younger than he actually was, almost childlike, and I felt, at times, that he was much too young for the worldly Nash.
However, l liked how the story is told, from the two POVs so the reader realizes how the two feel at specific moments. I liked that there was not too much angst that often appear in such romances. Also, the ending really develops into a truly satisfying HEA.

Liked the characters but I’m surprised to say there needed to be more tension. I’m all for low angst, but this felt way too easy.

Too long, with so many unnecessary scenes. Kinda disappointed cause the other two books were pretty good and Nash is amazing and the fact that I didn't enjoy his book sucks but I did appreciate the confusion during the getting together scene.

I know Ren was new to collage, but at some points he seemed almost too innocent. I preferred the other two books in this series, and I wish they were the length of this one. A good end to the series

Baylin Crow's "Recovered Fumble" is the first full-length novel in the Sugarland Saints series. It took be more than one evening/three hours. There were a few times were I almost stayed up past midnight to finish it (because lack of self-control) but managed to stop myself (work/school night).
This one didn't make me cry, but (spoiler alert) big-bad football playing Nash did (take that toxic masculinity)

The Sugarland Saints series are a link-manuscript style series. They're all "stand-alone" novels, but work better if you read them together and in order since the characters introduced in book 2 are in book 1 (and the characters in book 3 are introduced in book 2).

I like this one best so far
Out of the 3 books I like this one best so far. In book 3 we don’t even hear much of Rush or Torin except in the first chapter at the house party. Book 2 we didn’t get to see bishop and Shaw really get into a relationship till we read book 3. In book 3 I felt like the characters for me like Ren and Nash were more relatable.
Rendon has always been a shadow of his older brother Shaw who is the star of the school and everywhere. Where Shaw is handsome, athletic, and popular, where as Rendon is cute, nerdy, and lack social friends. Rendon meets Nash who is literally the opposite of himself. I find the contrast sleek and sexy.
The book is relatable because when you find yourself in a relationship with someone who’s been around a lot you come to a conclusion of what makes you any different. Even though being with that person you have to sometimes deal with their past as well. It’s hard but if you love someone enough then you could both get through it together.
Too bad the author rushed the ending we never got to really read Nash and Ren intimate together without the ummmm......protection. I feel like it would really give readers the insight on the trust Ren has for Nash because it seems Nash has never done anything like that before and it would’ve been a first for him and given Ren back something that was a first for him. To do something intimate without it is the ultimate sign of trust especially after they get into a relationship but then again what do I know?

This is the first full length book in the Sugar Land Saints series and let me tell you how happy that makes me. I enjoyed the first two novellas and was left wanting more of this world. Book 2 was way too short for how much I loved the two MCs. This book is about Shaw's little brother Rendon. He's starting at the same school as his big bro and as we know from book 2, he has caught the attention of shaw's teammate Nash.
This book runs concurrently with book 2. We get to be on he other side of the phone call Shaw makes to Nash when he and Bishop have their big fight and he needs a workout partner. We already know Shaw heard his brothers voice in the background, we just were not aware of Nash's thoughts when Shaw confronts him at the gym. It was kinda fun being on the flip. Everyone, including Shaw, thinks Nash is just a playboy and could never be serious about Rendon. This could not be further from the truth and it something I genuinely enjoyed about this book.

I liked how this was the opposite of how it usually goes. Rendon had more backbone and never acted like a doormat.
I'm hoping this author continues this series. I'm also hoping quarterback Memphis and a certain eyeliner wearing roommate of Rendons are next.

Baylin Crow's Sugar Land Saints series is a riveting sports romance series. The third book, Recovered Fumble is a great addition to the series. College. All I need to read is those two words to get me interested in a book. Luckily for me, this entire series is wonderful and Recovered Fumble happens to be a brother's best friend romance. Awww, my favorite trope!
When Nash meets Shaw's younger brother, Rendon, the sparks fly. Damn, The reader is treated to a fun and flirty relationship, as the two navigate their way through their feelings, as well as dealing with Shaw's anger about them getting together. I love Nash and Rendon together. They are adorable together and are clearly in sync.
Rendon's a virgin, totally inexperienced with boys. This not only makes for some great first times, but also for some fantastic hesitation and doubts. And holy hotness!
These books have a great group of friends, making everything even more interesting. Now the third book in the series, we already know some of these men well, including Nash who was introduced prior to this book. Definitely check out Quarterback Sneak and Broken Play.

This addition to the series was longer than the previous two because there wasn't a long-running history that was implied enough to give context and depth to the relationship. I enjoyed that the story began with their first meeting, which we saw peripherally in Quarterback Sneak, and then caught another glimpse of impending drama at the end of Broken Play. From there we got their whole story, sordid and steamy details and drama and angst and immaturity and all. Both Nash and Rendon were intriguing in their own ways and while Nash was my favorite, Rendon was not without his charms.
Their relationship progressed as expected, with a lot of denials, jealousy, setbacks, and second-guessing, but the thing that remained the stable driving force was Nash's heart. He was committed to having Rendon and then to keeping him. It didn't go easily and no amount of cocky charm could influence the fallout of his past, but he opened up and it was his complete honesty and laying bare his heart that made everything right. There are additional characters in this story that caught my attention without stealing the show, mostly, so I'd be super happy if the series continues with them. Until then, I'm glad the stories are improving and deepening both with the characters themselves and their own journey to finding their best partner. This is the best story of the series yet.

The game of love
I love this series and while Shaw and Bishop are my guys Rendon and Nash come close. I’m a sucker for a smart guy and Rendon is one sexy nerd. He knows what he wants, isn't afraid to go after it and best of all, isn't afraid to stand up for himself; however, he can also be his own worst enemy. I agree that brothers can be annoying but at least it comes from a place of love. Nash, though, I thought I knew what to expect but he surprised me. Yes, he can be cocky, because, hey he's Nash, but he's also so much more than what he outwardly projects.
"I've craved you since the first time I saw you and have never wanted someone this much." These two have crazy, intense chemistry. I love Nash's dirty talk, and when they're around each other, I'm surprised everything doesn't catch fire. They're both possessive, which I am a fan of, but I especially loved how Nash encouraged and believed in Ren. And I loved watching Ren grow into himself. They are exactly what the other needs and has been waiting for. I really hope Memphis and Tristan get stories someday.

Almost there
Was this book everything I hoped for? Not really. But it was a good book and I'm happy I read it.
What to expect from this book
Trope: m/m
Character development: good. I got to know both characters as well as past and possible future ones too. (Side note, there is someone that is supposed to be a "villain" I guess but i I'm not so secretly hoping he gets a book to redeem himself).
Heat factor: pretty high there are a lot of hot scenes but the anticipation/foreplay could have been prolonged since this was about a virgin. Depends on what you like, but either way it didn't disappoint.
Lead up to next books: high we were introduced to new characters (mainly good guys but one bad boy I'd love to read about) that could and should have their own books.
I liked this story and hope it's not the end of the Sugar Land world, but it's been a while since this was released and I haven't seen anything about more yet. I will keep my eye on this author for future books.
