Jordan

I could never have imagined my parents’ annual Christmas party was going to change my life so much.

After a flirtation with their unbelievably sexy new business partner leaves me out in the cold, the last thing I expected was to even see him again… let alone get hired at his company.

Alexander Abbott, I shouldn’t have been surprised to find out, is a total bosshole. And when I start digging into his investments, I come across one that looks shady in the extreme - huge financial transactions, hidden personnel files, and the darkest side of Alexander yet when I try to find out more.

There’s nothing to do but investigate it myself. But when my ignorance makes me a powerful enemy, I find myself trapped in a dark and intriguing world of transactional sex and sadism, with only Alexander to protect me.

Alexander

Jordan’s family business has assets I need for a private enterprise of my own. With a hostile takeover in the works, getting involved with Jordan is out of the question. Yet it seems that at every turn, she is getting more and more involved in my life… until I find her in the one place she should never, ever be.

There’s no choice but to bring her into the lifestyle that truly defines who I am. She’ll have to bow before me and learn absolute submission, discovering her own dark urges along the way, while I continue to resist mine and keep the larger goal in mind.

I extremely disliked every single character in this story. The writing is fine, and I've enjoyed other books by this author, but the seriously disjointed plot in this one didn't work.

The h (23) and completely unlikable. She's a self-proclaimed brat. She lives in poverty, she lives in the worst part of town, in the shittiest apartment complex, but yet her family owns a multi-million dollar winery. Not to mention the fact that for two years she's been the only accountant, doing all of the books, all their accounting work for this multi million dollar business, and not getting paid for it. What? Why? Because they hate her? But somehow trust her with their entire business?

The H (40) and his best friend leave the foster system at an early age, somehow come up with the funds to open an exclusive members only, high end, BDSM club, filled with very famous people wearing masks.

I found the sex scenes to be repulsive, one of the steamy scenes involves As the H so eloquently explains to the h
“No matter how many men fuck you, no matter how many dicks you have in your mouth, you’re mine. Do you understand that?”
There are times I find power struggles to be attractive, but this story felt so out of balance.

Alright, if you’ve read this author you know you’ve got to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. And this is no exception.

I went in blind and I’m glad I did. There are major things happening in a relationship that would have turned me off completely if I had read it in the blurb.

But somehow this author made it acceptable and so hot for me. Especially the aftercare…gah! That aftercare was so beautiful and the ending, so good.

I really can’t say much because it would give it away. Let’s just say this is the most Jade West style book of Astra’s I’ve ever read.

What I can say is that there is a very happy ending and whatever hesitation you have about the relationship and power dynamic is completely leveled. I guess I could say this taught me about how the sub ultimately has all the power.

Ok so here’s the thing: if you’re going to make a corporate takeover and the inner workings of an entity a big part of your plot, make sure it’s consistent and makes sense. Was this book even about sex? A relationship? Hell if I know—I was too distracted by the inaccuracies and inconsistencies re: corporate governance to notice anything else.

Astra Rose is one of my favorite independent writers of erotica, and her work is consistently rewarding, well-crafted, and hot. Her novellas are well-structured, giving the reader time to get to know her characters as believable people, a "slow burn" that pays off later when the sex scenes inevitably unfold. Even when approaching unusual or taboo subjects, such as the highly charged relationship between a teenage girl and an older father-figure in the four-part Daddy´s Girl series; or exploring the "hucow" fetish in A Splash of Cream at the Alabaster Cafe, Rose always grounds her erotic narratives in a realism which is imaginative, humorous, as well as sexy.

In her latest novella, Dominant, the author invites us into a world of sexual submission and corporate intrigue. Jordan Starck is a smart young woman in her early twenties, long estranged from her biological father, her stepmother, and their exceptional wealth. The book opens with her meeting the devilishly handsome yet mysterious Alexander, a wealthy businessman in his early forties who is negotiating a corporate take-over of the family´s estate. Mutual attraction and mischief unfolds right from the beginning, but Alexander does his best to put on the brakes, not wanting to mix business with pleasure. However, when he hires Jordan as his personal accountant and she begins examining the mysterious account that funds the vast majority of his company, their relationship gets extremely complicated--and highly erotic--very quickly.

As the title suggests, Alexander´s wealth derives from an elite private club for the rich and powerful, where men can explore their dominant sexual fantasies with submissive women at a club which seeks to expand its activities (hence the take over of the family´s estate, which rests on a vast acreage of land). Determined to learn more about this secretive business in her new role as Alexander´s accountant, Jordan accidentally stumbles into this hidden BDSM world, mistakenly believed by other clients as one of the "initiates" who perform whatever sexual service the men desire, some of which border on the violent. Despite Alexander´s warnings, Jordan willingly asks to train to become one of these initiates, changing the course of their personal and professional relationship forever.

Rose takes her time developing the complex relationship between Jordan and Alexander, a dance which includes flirtation, frustration, and confusion. The two grow close to one another over time, and not without each one needing to change, and seek greater understanding of the other. And while the genre of Dominant is BDSM and sexual episodes involving dubious-consent, role play, and sexual arousal from pain, at the heart of this erotic novella are themes of trust. What are we willing to give to our most intimate relationships, to demonstrate our love for another person? What are we willing to sacrifice? How much of ourselves are we willing to share?

Like her other erotic writings, Astra Rose´s Dominant is an enjoyable, arousing, and well-crafted story. Highly recommend.

This book starts out with Jordan Stark arriving late to her father and stepmother's Christmas party at the winery, Chateau Andilet, and four story castle that they owned. She having a tough time of sorts, she just got fired from her waitressing job and her car is currently booted because of fines on unpaid parking tickets. She makes it in to the party relatively unseen and head straight to the bar for a vodka soda when a deliciously handsome man asks her if she doesn't like the wine, after all they are in a winery. She comments that she needs something stronger than wine. He agrees with her and orders one for himself. He introduces himself as Alexander and asks what brought her to this party. She says business and he also says it's the same for him. He then asks her what does she do at these parties when she gets bored. She eventually asks him about playing a prank on someone. He agrees and a plan is hatched. She attaches a length of thread to a $100 bill she gets from him and drops on the floor a ways away. They watch as a robust man tries to pick it up while Alexander pulls the thread making the man stumble and chase after it. The game ends abruptly when a woman stands on the thread and it breaks which allows the gentleman to get the bill. They share a giggle and she feels bad about losing the guy's $100 bill. He tells her not to worry about it that he hadn't laughed that much in years and it was worth it. They switch to playing truth or dare and determine that they're both there alone when he suggests that they explore the castle together. She gets interrupted and pulled away by her stepsister who brings her to her stepmother who only berates her. Her stepmom then breaks out in a smile from ear to ear to someone over Jordan's shoulder who she soon discovers is the man she met at the bar, Alexander Abbott. She also learns that he's the new investment partner to the Andilet winery. He now owns 49 percent of the winery. Fast forward and Jordan gets a ride home with Alexander and they are flirting all the way to her apartment, they are both very attracted to each other but when it gets time for her to exit the car Alexander suddenly becomes very cold to her and basically shoves her out of his car. She's extremely hurt by this and decides to forget about it since she will probably never see him again. After all she basically has nothing to do with the winery, or does she...? Alexander is going over the really complicated financials from the winery when he finds himself having some questions that he needs answered so he calls the number for the accountant for the winery. Lo and behold, it's Jordan. She shows up at Abbott Holdings Investment, Alexander's company and answers all of his questions. He's discovers that she graduated with an accounting degree about a year ago, she's 23 years old, does the books for free for the winery and is currently unemployed. He offers her a job as an accountant for his company. She accepts and the fun begins. The attraction between the two of them skyrockets and things really spiral out of control. While doing tax preparation for the Abbott Holdings Investment she encounters a unnamed account that seems to be the source of a lot of income for the Holdings company and has a lot of unnamed employees. Everything is very suspicious and she wonders if they're involved in illegal activities. She questions Alexander about it and he tells her not to worry about it and keeps putting off telling her anywhere about it. One day she discovers an address for the business and decides to investigate it on her own. She ends up outside an older mansion with a side building in a very upscale neighborhood. She watches as groups of girls dressed in white shifts are lead to the larger building. She makes her way to the front door of the smaller building and knocks on the door. She convinces the girl, Maggie, that opens the door wearing a white shift to help her get into the larger house next door. She brings Jordan upstairs and gives her a white shift as well as a drop of a drug from a brown vial to help relax her. Maggie, who she learns is actually called Number Four by the men in the mansion, takes her next door and explains to Jordan that they are slaves and that the masked men walking around them are powerful, rich men who are hiding their identities and can do whatever they want to them, sexually including BDSM. Jordan is stunned and then recognizes her immediate boss, Mark, as one of the masked men and it only piques her interest to find out more. Jordan and Maggie find themselves in a living room soon surrounded by three masked men. This is where I'll leave you and you'll have to get the book in order to find out what happens next. Let's just say that it really heats up from here. Jordan's first experience at the club turns into a lot of trouble for her as well as for Alexander and she ends up in a very awkward situation. Things definitely heat up between Jordan and Alexander. Secrets come out and certain sexual matters are broached. Plus, there may or may not be a happily ever after in the cards for them. I must say though, this one will definitely heat up your kindle. Whew!! It definitely deserves the five star rating I'm giving it for the sexual chemistry alone but add in a great storyline and wonderful, strong but somewhat wounded characters and it's definitely worth the read!!

This book is about Jordan a young girl who just lost her paying job. She works for free for her father and stepmother doing the accounting of their firm.
Alex just bought a minority share in or and is hoping to buy all shares so he can use the place as an bigger and better BDSM club.
Jordan gets a job at the firm of Alex and is starting to look in a dubious account. The only one with only a number and not a name assigned to it. Alex tells her several times to stop investigate it. But stubborn as she is she keeps digging and one night finds out the address and finds a way in the club. There she does the unthinkable and is being punished. It peaked her interest even further and she decides to sign a contract as a novice(sub/slave in training)
There are some steamy series and love the chemistry Alex and Jordan have.
For me personally not a fan of the whole slut and sharing with strangers part, but its almost mandatory in every BDSM book, so I just got through that part.
The scenes with Mark, Jordan and Alex on the other hand were hot as f*ck.
The book doesn't only revolve about BDSM, there's also a storyline. 2 guys from foster care have a dream to start a club were you can fulfill all your desires and get rich from it,using that profit to expand on other business, a girl treated differently and poorly by her father and stepmother. The love between 2 by the looks of it very different people, growing confidence and complete and utter trust.

★ Great first read from this author ★

—>>> I believe that the synopsis really covers the storyline perfectly, and I enjoyed this new-to-me-author’s offering. Like a dog with a bone, Jordan discovers and then pursues a glaring accounting anomaly at Alexander’s firm on her own, despite warnings from him to leave it well enough alone. But when she does come upon the biggest clue, in the end it was her curiosity which does her in. Caught in a position which compromises everything for everyone involved, Jordan finds herself having to atone for not minding her own business in the most personal way…with her own body, at the exclusive club, with her not knowing much about BDSM but intrigued and enticed enough to wish to explore. During the fallout, Alexander finds himself falling for Jordan and protecting her as much as he could, but her punishment was to be harsh, given the gravity of Jordan’s actions. Looking froward to more stories in the future!

Please note that Jordan is shared with other members at the club as well as with other men under Alexander’s direction.

Jordan had first met her father and his family five years earlier.
They owned Chateau Andilet, a winery with a beautiful castle on the property. Her skills as an accountant come in very useful.
At a party to celebrate a new partner buying into the company, Jordan met Alexander Abbott. Little did she know the man she met that night would have such a huge impact on her life.
Alexander found Jordan beautiful from their first meeting but she was his business partners daughter. But as time passed he discovered that she was treated poorly by her family. He decides to make her his accountant and actually pay her. Then she stumbles on his and Mark, his brother from the foster system secret.
He end ups introducing her to a bdsm lifestyle.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining read. The way the tables get turned more than once made it interesting and their relationships all develop in different ways. Loved it.

Jordan and Alexander meet at a Christmas party and neither one of them is upfront with who they are in relation to the people hosting the party - Jordan is their daughter and Alexander is their new business partner.

The two of them are bored out of their minds and find ways to amuse themselves, together... sparks start to fly.. until Jordan realizes when he is.

Later on, she needs a new job and he needs a new employee within his company .. especially since he's not super thrilled with how the family is treating her - in the home life as well as the business world.

Things are going smoothly.. until they're not.. when Jordan locates some questionable transactions in Alexander's side business - which she doesn't realize.. is going to lead her straight to his BDSM club.. where she's about to learn how he likes to play.. ;)

Jordan could never have imagined that going digging into her new bosses investments she would discover a whole new side and world to Alexander. Alexander's hostile takeover of Jordans parents family business is about to turn up the heat and complicate matters, When he finds Jordan has discovered his darkest secret he must  protect her by drawing her in deeper, with complete submission. Well written, the story holds your attention, diving deep into the submissive BDSM. With teasing steamy scenes, desires, suspense,, sharing, D/s themes, testing limits, twists and more!

I read this book after falling in love with Astra Rose's book Off Limits. This is a very different book from that one! I did enjoy it but not quite as much as Off Limits which was 5 stars for me. This is a book about BDSM and Master / Submissive relationship. If you don't enjoy reading about a Master sharing his Slave, this is not the book for you! This is the vibe of the Alpha Male / Master -- "Good Slut. All I've ever wanted was a good girl like you to satisfy my needs."
The first part of the book is pretty tame and sets the whole story up, but the second half is almost all hot scenes - one after the other! Enjoy!

1,5 ✨

I really don't know what happened here 😐

The beginning of the book got me curious and I was really enjoying it and then it took the wrong turn somehow.

The characters were kind of boring and so was the story.

This had everything to be good but it ended up being something nothing memorable for sure and the only reason I'm giving it 0,5 is because I'm feeling generous today 🥴

▬ 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬: age gap, workplace/office romance (boss x employee), BDSM, polyamorous
▬ 𝐭𝐰: abuse, rape

What can I say about this book other than oh my damn this book was good. It had me sitting up straight trying to keep a straight face while reading it while in public. I had to stop for a second. Take a deep breath and think about it for a little bit the moments where he said things and I was reacting to them like he was talking to me Loved it yes. 10 out of 10. Recommend the spice level was there it was everything I definitely is going to put this on my reread list when I’m feeling a little extra spicy.

I enjoyed the love scenes, it's well written and the BDSM elements are strong and enticing. There are some details that need more work in the story to make it more believable. Jordan works for free as an accountant for her family that makes her feel a stranger and treats her poorly ! Who in reality does that? Alexander & Mark came from poor background in foster care to become so so rich in a matter of few years! Wish it was that easy. Enjoyable still!

Other than the "sharing", it felt very 50 Shades. Idk... I was kind of expecting more "dirtyness".
I thought when she stumbled upon the club and was in trouble Alexander was going to claim her publicly or something. And punish her himself because she was his..
