Mylas Grey doesn’t want to be famous. Not even for a day. As a private investigator, he prefers to fly under the radar.
However, when a well-known doctor asks Mylas to investigate his father’s murder, that’s exactly what happens. Suddenly, Mylas is dodging reporters while interviewing suspects and searching for the dead man’s elusive girlfriend.
In the end, he narrows his suspects down to three people . . .
First, there’s the fired employee . . . The man had opportunity and means, but did he have enough fire in his belly?
Then, there’s the ambitious daughter . . . She had motive, opportunity, and means, but would she really kill her own father?
And finally, there’s the disgruntled client . . . He had motive and means, but did he have opportunity?
Mylas has a few other things on his mind besides catching the killer, like learning to work with the staff he’s put together at his new private investigative agency, an undertaking that turns out to be more difficult than he anticipated.
And then, there’s the love of his life, Whitney Engel, who’s not sure she wants to be involved with someone who keeps showing up on the national news every night.
As Mylas closes in on the killer, he makes a costly mistake, one that could prove deadly. Will his desperate prayers for a miracle be answered?
Book IV in the Mylas Grey Mystery Series is a fast-paced whodunit, full of intriguing characters, excellent storytelling, and inspiring faith.
Luana Ehrlich is a USA Today bestselling author, known for her award-winning Titus Ray Thrillers, Mylas Grey Mysteries, and Silas McKay Suspense. Her novels are clean reads with intriguing plots, fascinating characters, jaw-dropping twists, and occasional touches of humor and heart-warming romance.
Although she developed her passion for spy thrillers and mystery novels at an early age, she didn’t write her first novel until her husband retired from the ministry. Now, she writes from an undisclosed location, trying to avoid the torture of mundane housework, grocery shopping, and golf stories. However, she occasionally comes out of hiding to visit with her two grandsons or to enjoy a Starbucks caramel macchiato.
Luana and her husband, former missionaries to Costa Rica and Venezuela, are now residents of Norman, Oklahoma. Email her at author@luanaehrlich.com. She loves to hear from her readers!!
Another wonderful mystery by Luana Ehrlich! I enjoyed the story line and the narrator as well. If you like a good clean whodunit mystery with a bit of romance then you will enjoy her books.
This book kept me interested and wanting to know the result in a number of situations the least character went through. This character, Mylas was pretty clever, confident and smart, but admitted errors along his investigative path. I would recommend all adult ages to read and enjoy this book. I didn’t want to put the book down. The best part for me is it was clean and added Christianity in a gentle way.
This story is different from the other three, because Mylas has quit working for the Senator and starting his own investigation agency. As Mylas puts his new investigation agency together, he is looking for business's to rent in his building. One of his potential renter's, he finds dead when he meets up with him. This gives Mylas his first case. Mylas has to dodge reporters to solve this case. As his faith grows in God, his friends recognize that he is not the same self-centered man. This case is going to make Mylas rethink how he investigates his cases. Steve Twitchell continues to bring the personality of Mylas to life, and engage the reader in his investigations to their heart-stopping conclusions.
Mylas finally is starting his own investigation business. His first client gets murdered before Mylas has a chance to meet with him. So his hands are full investigating the murder & hiring people for his business. Lots of interesting things happen in this story. Anxious to read the next one. I always enjoy Ms. Ehrlich's books. Since I also love listening to stories, I enjoyed Mr. Twitchell's excellent voice. I was given a free copy of this audible version. This is my voluntary review.
OK. I remember finishing the previous book in this series, reading this book's blurb, and being kind of intimidated about starting it. It meant a departure from what we had been used to with Mylas so far (since he's starting his own agency, and he was to be in the public eye). So, I'm just glad that I jumped on this audio when I got my next craving for a mystery read. As always, this author knows how to pull off a good investigation with added elements of intrigue and even some suspense. I really shouldn't have been afraid to start this one since we actually have a lot of familiar faces, like Nathan, Nina, Leslie, from the previous book, and even Senator Allen, but a lot of new ones as well, especially with his taking of the Griffin Daley's case. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was Jared's "intuition" or even "psychic ability." Other than that, I think this book and series are perfect for those looking for a mystery read that's more focused on the actual case and investigation, as well as the main character's growth, rather than the romance (though for my hopeful romance lovers, a little bit is going on as well, it's just more in the background). Truly, I've enjoyed seeing Mylas grow little by little in his Christian faith, and his questions (or even stumbles) make him a relatable character.
Now, as for the narrator, it's always great to have continuity in the voice of the main character (especially when the whole series follows the same person), and Steve Twitchell definitely knows how to pull off a variety of voices and nuances. If I'm being nitpicky, I'd say there were a couple of times when Mylas's voice changed, or it sounded too much like Whitney during a conversation he was having with her, but they were such minor instances that they don't detract from the overall experience.
So, if you're looking for your next Christian Mystery (with only a dash of Romance), I highly recommend this audiobook. Onto the next one! ~ 4.5 stars
Speed listened at: 1.5x
Content: This is a murd3r investigation, so he does find the body, and there are discussions about the cause of death and such, but it's never overly graphic (it kinda feels like one of those investigative shows on TV).
Four Days Famous by Luana Ehrlich is a fast-paced totally captivating mystery. After I read the first line, I couldn't wait to see what would go wrong. love a good mystery and Luana Ehrlich has provided one in Four Days Famous. I already liked Mylas Grey from the other three books in the series. And by the way, you don't have to read the others to enjoy this one. Each book stands alone as far as the mystery is concerned.
Mylas formerly worked for a powerful US senator to 'solve problems' out of the public eye. Nothing illegal, just quietly. He has what it takes to be swoon-worthy: handsome, strong sense of right and wrong, and recently a new Christian. It's interesting to see him work through what God is doing in his life.
I also like his girlfriend. She was in a previous book (one of those you'll want to read) and was responsible for his initial interest in Jesus. But he's finding himself strangely attracted to one of his new employees...we'll see how that turns out.
As for the mystery, I love seeing how his mind works and he ties clue A to clue B. A time or two I thought I had the murderer figured out, but then something would happen and I would change my mind.
If you like a good, clean mystery with interesting characters, you'll enjoy Four Days Famous. I also enjoy Luana Ehrlich's Titus Ray Thrillers, a lot of them set in the Middle East.
After working for a senator for six years, Mylas Grey is ready to launch his own private investigation firm in Washington DC. He has found a good location for his business and has hired some talented people. He is discovering that he'll need good management and people skills to run his firm effectively, skills that have been improving since he became a Christian.
The new firm's first case comes a bit sooner than Mylas has planned. When he goes to a meeting with pollster Griffin Daley, who is interested in renting space in his building, he finds Daley murdered on the floor of his office. Daley is prominent in Washington political circles, and the murder gets national coverage. When Daley's son hires Mylas to investigate the murder, Mylas picks up lots of free publicity and media attention. But can he help the police solve the case?
Pollster Murdered in D.C. This book is the fourth in a series about a Private Investigator based in our nation's capitol. Each book is a complete mystery. But to get the full backstory, it would be better to read the books in sequence. In this episode, our hero is setting up his new PI agency and is given a high-profile case. The fame and notoriety bring in more cases and the pressure is on to increase the staff. As with all of this author's books, this is a Clean, Christian story. There is no foul language, no sex, no gore, and little violence. The plot is tight, and the story is a page-turner, but this book will not cause nightmares!
No apologies, I just really enjoy all of Luana Ehrlich's books. The Mylas Grey series us just as good as the Titus Ray adventures. And her books can be read as stand alone stories. Ehrlich does a great job of giving you enough background so you don't feel lost if you grab any book in the series. But start at book one and keep going. She is one of the few authors from whom I'll snap up pre-releases as soon as they're announced. Good clean, exciting reads.
Not only a great read, but a learning experience. Myles Grey, a competent investigator, leaves DC politics to start his own private investigation agency and quickly finds himself in a murder case. As a young Christian, he experiences God"s hand in his new venture. Luana Ehrlich leaves you anxious for the next release.
I thoroughly enjoy Luana‘s books and message. I can always count on her to develop the story and plot to keep things interesting. But in this case there was very little controversy or complications that could’ve made it more interesting. I look forward to her next novel on Mylas Grey.
I enjoyed the story, and it was exciting and suspenseful, but it is disappointing how many loose ends there are. It is like the end (of each book) is more of an “advertisement” for the next book. There needs to be closure. Let the quality of the writing make the reader want more, not the unanswered questions.
Luana Ehrlich tells another Mylas Grey story that is very satisfying to read. Mylas is starting his own investigating company and catches a high profile murder case before they're up and running. However, that doesn't stop Mylas from catching the killer. Lots of good characters and relationships portrayed. Looking forward to what comes next!
I enjoyed this book except for one thing - yes, I'm picky - it seemed like some of the dialog was a bit clunky because they used each other's names. When I'm talking with a friend, I don't say, "Yes, Mary, that was quite an experience." "I know, Jane, it was scary." Other than that, it was a great read, and what I expect from this author. Ehrlich writes good stories that don't make me cringe.
Mylas is on his way to meet a prospective businessman who is interested in leasing office space in a building Mylas has just bought. When he arrives at his appointment Mylas finds his future lessee dead in his office. Mylas is hired by the dead man’s son to find the killer. In four days Mylas determines who the killer is, but almost becomes a victim himself. Quick, easy read. ENJOY!
I loved how Mylas is so real to life I don’t like it when the story ends but I’m thankful that it’s a series and the next book is ready for me to read - if it’s been awhile since I’ve read the series and a new book in it comes out, I go back and read from the start and it’s always better!
I’m loving this book series. I bought all seven of the books. It’s enjoyable and each one takes you on a different adventure. I really like Mylas Grey the main character. He is evolving before my eyes and he is on a spiritual journey. Each book gives you more about his personal and professional life.
Each book in this series just keeps getting better. I started the series with book one on Kindle Unlimited - it's free, why not. Then I was hooked and can't wait for the next installment.
Four Days Famous was great! So excited for Five Days Lost to come out, only wish it were coming out sooner. Love reading about Mylas and his journey in faith.
This is another totally entertaining book in this P.I. suspense series. I love the characters and the way Christianity is sprinkled throughout the book. The romance is light and enjoyable. Great book!
I enjoy Luana’s stories. They all have a good story line with a twist. I have read all of the Titus Ray stories, which are my favorite, but these are a close second.
This book is about an investigator who is hired to fine someone who has done something wrong. This investigator is hied to do a job and usually gets it done in just a few days. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Very exciting! Mylas is hired by Dr. Daley to find his fathers killer. And he did. There was some precarious situations and a very dangerous situation but the end result was a killer in jail. Oh so good!
Mylas Grey begins a new job. He has started his own private investigation and while he was recruiting a staff, he discovers a body. I really enjoy reading Luna Ehrlich’s books and this one especially.
Mylas is starting a new business as a private investigator. He goes to meet his potential tenant for his building only to find him dead. This is suddenly his first case.
