Delusional
I'm at 21% and furious, finding this plot delusional and disgusting. What woman who has just regained consciousness recovering from a gunshot wound and the trauma of an ambush is more worried about getting kissed and having kinky foreplay than finding out whether her beloved cousin, uncle, and possibly even her father are still alive. What woman of intelligence, depth, maturity and control would be attracted to somebody who abused, tormented and bullied her, and is responsible for her kidnapping, possibly the death of her family, and also strangling her with his belt, who has admitted to taking her to USE her for some unspecified and clearly nefarious reason? Well, no woman of strength and quality would. Instead we have a shallow adult-aged tween-acting idiot lacking in self-control and the intellect enough to temper her impulses, too worried about flirting and foreplay to think about the bigger picture. This storyline wasn't enjoyable, it made me angry and it made me squirm because of the cringe-worthy unrealistic responses to the events detailed, and it's poorly timed sexual sequences occuring at times NO NORMAL mob-raised woman would be thinking about sex. I couldn't have ANY respect for the female lead because she instantly fell for somebody who is ABUSIVE scum, responsible for her captivity and just had no self-respect and was pretty much a brainless libido driven doormat.

I only made it through twenty-one percent of this book, but I had been ready to give up on it after ten. This is definitely not a fair review of all its strengths and weaknesses, which is okay since it is mainly intended as a reminder to my future self - who will undoubtedly come across yet another tiktok and decide this book is worth picking up again - to please don't.
It wasn't even the plot that got on my nerves (although we got off to a pretty jumbled start). It was the small things. Such as the overly flattering self-descriptions in first-person narration:
Does the inner voice of anyone outside Love Island contestants seriously sound like that? Please let me know, I'm genuinely curious.
Just... what the hell.
It didn't help that I felt no love for the main characters. Bianca, the future of the underworld, couldn't decide if she was a badass or a wallflower. For example, this was Bianca:

But don't be fooled, because badass Bianca is never too far away:
I'm willing to bet that calling yourself the mafia is the most definitive proof that you are not, in fact, the mafia.
Meanwhile, Gabriel spent the first fifth of the book obsessing over a cut Bianca got in a bar fight, aka her battle wound.
I was in tears from laughter at this point.
I swear no other thoughts occupied that pretty head of his, with its dark locks of wet hair and glowing eyes.
If this story has any redeeming qualities, please know my patience ran out before I got to them. All in all, I wish I could say I've learned my lesson when it comes to taking book suggestions from TikTok, but that would be a lie.
**Recommended if your favorite trope is "no one is allowed to fuck with her but me"

But don't be fooled, because badass Bianca is never too far away:
"Welcome to the mafia."
"I've always been a part of the mafia," I rebuff.

Is it because it changes everything?
I was in tears from laughter at this point.
But Bianca's scar won't leave my mind.
"Bianca... she had a scar above her left eye," I finally allow myself to utter.

Brief summary
Bianca is from a powerful mafia family and Gabriel is trying to take them down and his only way to do that is to marry Bianca. So he does just that and they start out as enemies but fall in love along the way.
The tropes in this book are just everything I love in a book. This book combined all of my favourite tropes and I loved how it did it. I just had such a good time reading this book and it hit all of my buttons.
I really love when books are very dark and gritty in tone and it was the case for this book and I really loved reading that. I loved how gritty this book got at times, that just really worked for me. The ambiance of this book was very dark and thats my prefered ambiance in books, so I just had a lot of fun reading this book because of the ambiance.
My favourite parts of enemies to lovers books is when they start out really disliking each other and they don’t want anything to do with each other but they just cannot help but be attracted to each other. Even if they want everything but that. And it was the case of this book and I just loved that. The way the enemies to lovers trope was done in this book just really worked for me. I loved how their relationship slowly changed over time and how it didn’t come easy to them because of their past. The relationship development in this book just really worked for me.
I also just really loved the relationship in this one. I loved how they were ready to do everything for each other and how dedicated to the other they were. I just love these kind of very possessive relationship in books and I loved how it was done in this book. I just couldn’t help but keep swooning because these two were just so great together. I absolutely loved the romance in this one, it was just the right kind of possessive for me.
Also I absolutely adore Bianca as a character, she is just the best.
Also the sex scenes in this book? I have no words, they were just so hot. They were just so good that i’m still not over how good they were.

Mafia romance is one of my go to, no brainer reads. If it’s a mafia romance I don’t usually spend much time thinking about if I’ll read it, it’s usually a matter of when. The nature of the beast is that they are all fairly similar in structure and often how then pan out. I’m good with that. This one tosses is some mystery and betrayal.
I almost DNF’d when I discovered it’s a misplaced revenge story. I primarily read dark romance with heavy leaning toward both mafia and bully tropes so misplaced revenge comes up often in my reading. Honestly, I’m a bit tired of it. That’s on me though, I chose to continue reading so I promised myself I wouldn’t let it mess with my rating or review.
Her father killed his mother so there lies the revenge. Yawn. H is pretty obsessed with h. He’s fairly resentful about it. He definitely doesn’t want to be obsessed with her. He’s a lot of bark but not much bite. He muses to himself and his people about using and breaking h but ultimately he can’t seem to bring himself to be particularly mean to her. He’s a little mean but he feels guilty when he tries to hurt her so he can’t fully commit to it. He runs his mouth and hurts her feelings, makes threats etc but he pretty quickly gives into his obsession for her.
She was an okay h. She was somewhat annoying at times. I’m usually into vulnerable heroines but she was this soft, fairly well sheltered girl who desperately longed to be a badass but had no skills to back up her wishes. I think it was this lukewarm unwillingness to commit to whether she was soft or strong that left me feeling really meh about her. Most of her character arc was toughening up and learning to be the badass she wanted to be. It felt really forced to me though. Her journey lacked authenticity so I didn’t buy into her transformation.
Fast-ish burn, h gives up her vcard to H around 29%.

Safety- both H/h feel some mild jealousy in the book but it’s minor. The h in the next book (Roz) was supposed to marry this H but they only ever had a platonic sibling type feelings for one another. I actually REALLY disliked Roz so I’m not sure if I’ll read the next book.
H feels some jealousy anytime any guy seems close to h for any reason but there’s nothing romantic between her and anyone else.

DNF...This book had too much "ick factor" for me. It just started out as another misplaced REVENGE trope. I am tired of anti-hero's who take their revenge out on innocent women instead of facing the real person who did the crime. I didn't read enough to determine if Bianca's father really killed his mother, but honestly taking your revenge out on his daughter is the cowards way out. Doesn't say allot for Gabriel's character.
Bianca's character was embarrassingly dumbed down to the point of really...is she just that stupid? She was easily manipulated by a man (Gabriel) who wanted to make her his sex slave because her father supposedly killed his mother. His plan was to marry her and destroy her because of what her father did to his mother. Gabriel's character was just a sadistic p.......k who got off from inflicting pain and had the personality of snake. He was a sexual pervert and she was a spineless female MC.
Both characters were deeply flawed and together didn't add up to one redeeming factor or reason to continue reading this book.

At first, I was very excited due to the interesting beginning. Nevertheless, after Gabriel's kidnapping of the heroine, I was very bored, and don't get me started about how sick this book, characters, and plot are over-all gross and disgusting and god awful book I wouldn't recommend it to anyone

Sasha Leone is a new author to me, but I am so glad that I signed up to read this book. Ruthless Heir did not disappoint; this definitely checked all the boxes for me.
There are plenty of twists and turns in this gritty, dark book, and oh boy, the angst and spice are perfection!
"Give in to the darkness. Let it wash over you. Find the pleasure in the pain—the ecstasy in the danger. Conquer your fears."
Trust me; you will love Ruthless Heir. I can't wait to read Lethal King.

This is the first book in a new dark mafia series. Gabriel is a mafia prince and a ruthless one while Bianca is a mafia princess and has led a very sheltered life. Bianca hated him in High School, he was her bully and now he is back and he ends up kidnapping her. His inheritance rides on them being married. He plans to make her his but will she be his Queen or run? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and twists and turns. Great characters with lots of depth and intense chemistry. I loved it!

At first I need to say that since the very first book I read from Sasha Leone, I was drawn to her stories. They never fail to captivate me, suck me in and leave me breathles and longing for more. Her books are so incredible and amazing. So a huge THANK YOU to Sasha Leone for sharing your steamy, hot and sexy stories with the world!
So this book is nothing less than a big rollercoaster of emtions with all the ups and downs. You start a A and end by Z, but you have no idea what happened in between. That is what I loved about the story. That is what dark mafia makes so special. Espacially the ones from this author. There is so much tension, so much hot and steamy sex, so much plotting between the different characters. You never know how it will turn out.
What also fascinates me, is the big character development troughout the story. You can really feel the changing in the book, and that is very special. Each character has their own burden and own story and own feelings. This is all so deep and emotional, that I couldn't stop the tears from falling. Like I said.... rollercoaster.... But I promise you, that there were also happy tears. Needless to say that I'm a big cryer...
The ending left me only wanting for more and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book from Sasha Leone. I'm so excited!!

Intoxicating. Addicting. Invigorating. Just some words to describe this book. The story and characters truly were ruthless, and I fell in love with the book almost immediately. There is just something about the main characters, Bianca and Gabriel, that made my insides turn into a puddle of goo. Do I know why? Nope. Did it make for an enjoyable read? Hells yeah.
AND THE SPICE. Some of the things Gabriel said/thought had me blushing and whispering "Hot damn." The chemistry and sexual tango between these characters were something else. I literally could not stop turning pages as I read. This is the kind of book that sucks you in, makes it hard to breathe as you are living in a world full of sexual tension and violence, and then spits you out at the end with a sense of happiness to have read it but also sadness because it is over.
I will happily read anything that Sasha Leone writes.

I swear to all that's holy, Sasha Leone never fails to make my dark & twisty soul sing with any of her books, and Ruthless Heir is absolutely no exception. I'm super excited for this new series to be honest, and she sure didn't skimp on the pages which also made me so happy since I never want to finish any of her stories. Gabriel & Bianca were enemies in high school, but when he disappeared, she thought it was done. Little did she know that he would show back up to give her the option to marry him or die. He has a revenge plot cooking against her father, and Bianca is going to be his pawn in said revenge, but little did he know that they would find undeniable chemistry between them that changes up the game. This story has twists coming in hot all over the place as this world isn't for the faint of heart that's for sure which I absolutely loved so much. Between that heat, and the push & pull, I felt this story deep as I experienced the journey from enemies to lovers, and maybe just maybe they unite into something leveled up powerful but you'll have to hit those one click buttons to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Sasha has done a brilliant job with these two because they are both dangerous & filth characters. I was mind blown that Bianca is just as blood thirsty like her family so, we don't see the innocence mafia princess. Gabriel we see he wants revenge and there is a mystery around Dragco, does he truely care about Gabriel....no spoilers. Will he go throw his revenge?
The suspense killed me soooo much because there was something to lose with both strong characters. Their chemistry you can feel on the page and their love is STRONG and you at the edge of your seat of what is going to happen next?

This Ruthless Dynasty series is off to a good start! Gabriel Corso is out for answers to lots of questions that go back to his childhood. His mom had been killed and he was taken in by Drago who filled in him on information on a need-to-know basis. Bianca Byrne had been “bullied” by Gabriel in high school that when she met him again, she was startled and all of her insecurities came back. She didn’t want to like Gabriel, but something inside her didn’t want to listen! Gabriel ends up “kidnapping” Bianca when they are ambushed. Will Bianca finally stop hiding from the outside world? Bianca seems to be a shy, timid individual, but when push comes to shove, will she be able to be the Queen that she is destined to be?
This book is full of so many secrets, so many twists and turns that you will be drawn in and find it very hard to put your kindle down once you start reading! I look forward to reading the next book in this series and can’t wait to see how everything plays out.

Ruthless Heir: Ruthless Dynasty Book 1 by Sasha Leone
Sasha Leone will take you deep into the Dark, twisted, and depraved world of the Mafia. The main character is Gabriel Reca, a 25 year old young man who was groomed from a young age to live in the cruel world of the Mafia by his adopted father. His obsession is Bianca Byrne, 21 year old Mafia princess who had led a sheltered life, yet far from innocence. Gabriel and Bianca have a love/hate relationship which developed when they were in Westwood High School. Even though they have been out of school for years, the animosity remains and slowly sizzles.
Gabriel is motivated by his revenge plan for Ray Byrne for killing of his mother when Gabriel was in his youth. Bianca will be part of the plan as he plans to mold her into his slave. This was a new to me author and one I'll definitely be reading more from in the future, including the next book in the series.
This book pleasantly surprised me, as when I first started it was good but didn't quite grab me. I think hiding from the world and having my sole focus on it helped, as there are so many different moving parts, and an abundace of characters that I found myself turning back to previous pages not quite believing what I was reading.
Boy did that change QUICK.
Some of the bedroom scenes nearly put me off with what he told her to call him, for me that term is for saggy older men not gorgeous specimens only a few years older.
There are so many hidden secrets that come to light within these amazing pages, but my head is still exploding from the last few chapters.
I can't wait to see how that pans out.

THIS BOOK WAS SO FREAKING GOOD!!!
Now, I'm not new to Sasha Leone's books. I've read a good amount of her books so I can confidently say, this is by far my favourite book she wrote. I've read about these kids parents and I couldn't wait ti read their own books. Gabriel was amazing. Bianca got on my nerves in the bringing, I won't lie but to see her transform from this timid girl with a sassy mouth to this total badass who would burn your face off was freaking amazing. I can't freaking wait to see what happens in book 2. I'm literally at the edge of my seat.

Ruthless Heir by Sasha Leone is the First book in the Ruthless Dynasty Series. This is the story of Gabriel and Bianca. Gabriel (25) and Bianca (21) went to Westwood High School. There Gabriel bulled Bianca as much as he could. Now in their present day he has plans to get revenge for his mother who was killed by Bianca's father. That revenge will be through Bianca. This was an exciting read.

Crude and Derivative
This is clearly another book (and author) where I just cannot believe I read the same book as all those 5 star reviews. Each to their own but for me this book (and author) are now a hard "no". Where to start? Whilst a bit of anal when done well can be sexy in a romance I draw the line at fisting (yes, you read that correctly) by the MC which results in the FC bleeding or the MC insisting on the FC calling him "Daddy" (a kink that just makes me shudder. Who the hell wants to be thinking about their father in that situation???). That is just the start, the overuse of the "See U Next Tuesday" word I found too much and just plain crude, not sexy or hot. Whilst I'm not the biggest fan of that terminology as I find it derogatory and insulting I can handle the use on occasion. This author apparently feels that it should be used often and at all opportunities - not romantic.
This is yet another book where the FC is an apparent virgin but within 5 minutes of the MC kidnapping her she is getting off on being violently belted by the MC and then "pounded" by him. Personally I find books which depict women as completely mindless and constantly "wet" when presented by a man as just insulting to women and boring. I don't understand how so many female authors think it creates a good or strong story, for me it just sends the wrong message to younger readers about the role of women (sorry for the mini rant but it really annoys me and there are just so many authors who write their FCs this way)
As for the story itself, I felt that I had read this story (albeit much better written) many times before so the author apparently couldn't even be bothered to try and come up with something different or unique to detract from all the graphic, over the top sex scenes. The book is supposed to be dark and gritty but for me it came across as more comic book ridiculous and I could not connect with either the MC or the FC. The MC came across as a spoilt little boy, not a strong man, as well as an idiot for not questioning the story he had been told. Further, the body count through the story became ridiculous - apparently the MC is invincible but noone else is. The FC was pathetic, juvenile and a mafia princess wannabe. The attempt by the author to create a badass FC failed miserably.
All in all not for me. This author's idea of romance is clearly miles away from mine and more akin to porn. The whole book just made me shudder

I really liked how this story was written and the progression of the couple. I liked that this book showed Gabriel and Bianca being equal and not one having power over the other. I also enjoyed seeing how they met and their story. But I did feel this could have been shorter and began to feel repetitive.

Gabryjel had such potential... Gnawing at the bars of my enclosure every time he called her 'myszko'. Then my guy wanted to be called Daddy and I had to DNF. Is one star a bit harsh? Maybe. But I can't bring myself to read further than 28% of the book. If you're into that type of thing, you're gonna like this book.
