Can a desperate woman and a lonely alien shifter work together to defeat an unknown enemy?
A new year should be a time for new hope, but this year, Meg finds it hard to be optimistic. Betrayal and bad luck threaten everything she has worked for. And although she would never admit it, she’s lonely on her isolated farm.
During a last, desperate trip to find help, an old friend talks her into a blind date for the year end celebration. Despite her reluctance, the big, quiet alien sparks an almost forgotten desire, and she gives in for one reckless night.
Roardon Is used to being alone. Other species regard his race with fear and suspicion. His brief encounter with a strong, beautiful female leaves him wanting more, but she disappears without a trace.
Then she appears again at the auction for contract workers. When a lack of other options forces her to hire him, he’s delighted at the chance to spend more time with her, despite the suspicion he can see on her face.
But Meg is in more trouble than she knows and the only way to save her may be to reveal his darkest secret - and lose her forever. This sweet and steamy romance is intended for a mature audience only.
So this could’ve been great with a bit more character development and 100 more pages (at least). I’ve never read an alien shifter romance before, so it was a fun first for me.. but ultimately the story lacked those crucial elements for me to feel all fluttery and giddy.
Honey Phillips always gives us tough heroines and sweet Alpha heroes.
Meg was determined and hard working. She had an open heart and was non judgemental, which allowed her to see Roardon as the sweet and trustworthy male that he was. Even though his whole life he had been shunned for being a human Vultori "half-breed".
Meg and Roardon were both so lonely and just wanted someone to accept them and support them as they were. I loved them together. I love how they were both just what the other needed. It was insta-love as all get out, especially with Roardon knowing Meg was his mate, but they really were just so sweet to each other. Though don't let that fool you, there was plenty of steam to boot.
Someone though, is lurking in the shadows, and isn't gonna let them have a happily ever after. Meg and Roardon have to fight with everything they have to get the future they want together, being whole and fulfilled in each other's arms.
This was a shifter/Omegaverse light kind of story.
This was a really cute read but boy was it quick. Not only that but it felt a little clean for my tastes. The first time the characters hookup everything is rushed and in a matter or seconds it's the next morning. The entire book does only take place over a matter of days FYI. Then again when you meet your forever (AKA mate), time has no meaning. I enjoyed the story line and thought it was fun how she was only trying to find help for her farm and ends up with her one night stand and a HEA. Roardon knows in an instant Meg is his mate. With a threat to her farm and life, Roardon immediately goes into overprotective mode and it's fates way of proving to them why they need one another and belong together. Super quick and sweet read.
4⭐️ Very much what I expected from Honey Phillips. No surprises here. A cute little farm planet romance. Am I disappointed with the spice? Yes, I always am with this author unfortunately. But I thought it was a cute read.
The heroine goes out one night, and planned on meeting up with a blind date. But she mistakes him for someone else! That someone else turns out to be her new farmhand and on top of that- an alien!
This romance was a super fun New Years holiday romance. I loved how she mistook the hero for her blind date and then when she realized her mistake she was like, “I would far rather go on a date with this guy then my ACTUAL blind date”. It was super funny and cute. I loved the fact that the heroine did not let societal pressure influence her to discriminate the hero. I liked the touch of a social justice element. The action and danger surrounding what was happing with her farm kept the stakes high throughout and me turning the pages rapidly. I would definitely read other romances set in this new universe the author has set up with this book. The hero was DELIGHTFULLY alpha in a protective, caretaker way, and the heroine was strong in a quiet, unyielding way that made her very sympathetic. I highly recommend this sci-fi holiday romance.
Alien farmhand with a surprise! Okay, I loved Roardon. He's a quite the tough guy with a sweet center--a yummy cinnamon roll. :) Meg is strong and capable, but all alone in the world. Hiring a farmhand sure would help. When her blind date ends up being her contracted worker, sparks fly. This was such a fun read! This story is full of steam, angst, and some twists. I loved the concept of the blind date mix-up. Roardon is not your regular alien, which you'll find out when you read it. Honey sure knows how to write sweet and steamy romance! A holiday treat, 4 stars!
I really enjoyed this super short novella! It reminded me a bit of Ruby Dixon’s Risdaverse stories so if you’re a fan of those definitely give this one a try.
The heroine Meg lives alone on her family farm after the death of her parents and being abandoned by her brother. When she goes to the city for New Years and to try to hire help for her farm she winds up on a blind date with the wrong guy who turns out to be the right guy for her.
And even when she tries to ghost him the next day, she sees him again at what’s basically a “farmhand auction” when she realizes he’s an alien and available for hire.
I loved Roardon!! He’s the epitome of a big ol softie. He’s half-alien, half-human and grew up ostracized by both groups. He’s intimidating and strong and fiercely protective of Meg.
CW: prejudice, mentioned rape/captivity (not the hero/heroine) , violence/murder
More accurately 3.5 but we’re rounding up for the sheer delight alien werewolves induced in me. Instalove is usually in the “ugh, no” category unless it’s in a fated mates pnr or sci-fi romance (erotica?) situation. Then I’m a sucker for it.
This was such an entertaining read, full of adventure, danger, mystery and a wonderful romance. The author continues to craft stories that are well detailed, with characters I can feel invested in, and plots that really make for one-sit reads, for me. So fun to dive into!
Honey Phillips is one of my favorite sci-fi romance authors with good reason. I love her characters development and world building. Meg 's family has died and she's moved back home to take care of the family farm and make it prosper once again. Her brother took what was good and ran leaving her to struggle with holding on to the land. It's almost there beginning of a new year and Met has decided to get some help in town and asks her friend for a bit of help. Her help included a blind dated for New year's that didn't go as planned. Roardon is half human half Vulcor he definitely has a beast side (so I was half in love with him from the very beginning) he just wants to find a place to belong a family, but he'll take a job at the very least. He decides to go out on the eve of the new year and he meets Meg by chance but that's all he needs his beast knows that she in the one. The attraction is instant and a connection is formed when they part ways they think that's it until Roardon ends up being just who she need so t help her on her land. The story picks up from there just enough danger to keep things interesting and love that grows strong with acceptance and passion. A wonderful way to begin the new year! I wish I could ring my own Roardon!😍😍💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥 highly recommend!🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥
Meg and Roardon jumped into the sack waaaay too quick for my taste. There was no build up, chase, them getting to know each other at all. The first sex scene was also lacking. Also too quick and undescriptive. Since it's Honey Phillips I stuck with it and it did get better. Roardon won me over. He was humble, sweet, and very accepting and patient with Meg.
Meg - was not as lovable. She told Roardon no hanky panky when she hired him after their one night stand. But then when he gets into a confrontation with her dogs, she grabbed his dick to get his attention. She also masturbated in front of the window - knowing he was watching. Teasing hooch. If roles were reversed and a male employer was acting that way to his female employee it would not be cool. That being said, I did enjoy the story and can't wait for Honey's next book.

What a cute holiday story !!! In this story we meet Meg, A simple farm girl trying with all her might to make her homestead farm a success like it was before. But , try as she might, it has become overwhelming. She heads into town in order to possibly buy a farm hands contract to help her maintain the farm. She stays at her girlfriend Billie' s and gets set up with a blind date for the New Years Eve festival. Meg is told to look for a ," guy in a red shirt " , who happens to be an associate of Billie's father. But before Billie and Meg can get out the door, Billie had an unexpected situation, and Meg goes alone. .... Roardon has been encouraged to go out for the festival, and he reluctantly does. There he meets a gorgeous woman, and she approaches him !!! The half breed !!! He is afraid that it is all a mistake, but he doesn't want to throw away a gift this precious , so he goes along with it. As these two get to know each other, this read becomes a steamy , story that you dont want to put down !!! I enjoyed this story as Meg and Roardon work together and try to solve the reasons why Meg 's farm is falling down around her ears . An adorable , easy holiday read !!!
It tells the story of Meg that tries hard to keep the farm her parents left her running. On New Year’s Eve her best friend gets her to go on a blind date and this turns out to be much more fate than she would ever have imagined.
I like the story a lot and didn’t wanted to put the book down. The characters are very lovable and they had great chemistry. I wish them falling for each other would have been a little slower but I still very much love their story.
Overall this was a very cute, fun and great story, that I am pretty sure to reread at some point.
This blind date is hot! It was supposed to be a blind date, but it’s a fortuitous case of mistaken identity. Meg is a woman with determination. She is open minded, giving Roardon chances others wouldn’t. Roardon is definitely a ‘keeper’ in my opinion. He’s sweet to Meg, and ready to protect her any way he can! They encounter unanticipated evil - read and see what happens. It’s so exciting! Their romance is delightful, you won’t want to miss this!
Race elitism abounds in this story about a Meg young women who has been working her family farm that has been run down. She hires Roardon a half Human half Vultor male to help her for the season. He is not readily accepted by most humans or full blood Vultor packs as his father was human and mother Vultor. After their deaths he nomadically traveled looking for a place to settle. With Meg he is attracted and accepts the contract to work on her farm knowing his beast and he want her as a mate. Championing her goals on the farm is just the beginning of their quest for love and to fix the farms weird mishaps.
Meg loves the family farm and always has. She sees the love and work which has gone into it over the generations so when her parents pass away and she is called home, the last thing she expects is her brother telling her he's sold a large portion of the farm and that she should sell the rest and get away. Meg is not afraid of hard work but lately it has been getting harder. There are all the signs that the farm should be profitable but yet somehow it just isn't and to tell the truth Meg has had a run of bad luck. She decides to bite the bullet and try to get a farmhand to help her at the New Year's Auction. The trip into town gives her friend a chance to bully Meg (wel bully is a strong word but it is all done out of love) into going out on a blind date. For one night forget about her troubles and have fun which leads her to Roardon. He's not exactly a people person but then he's never been given the chance due to his heritage. He's not fully human you see and neither race want to claim or even help him. He's tried hard not to let that get to him and yet it has overshadowed his whole life. A chance meeting with Meg shows him how life could be, making what he is returning to without her even more bleak. At the end of his funds and without any hope he goes to the work Auction where he is taken on by Meg. There is all that you could want in a story here, intrigue, plots, action, steam and amazing storytelling that pulls you right in. Great book.
I stumbled across Honey when I had finished another authors books. I have been on a bit of a sci fi romance blitz. Just something to get lost in other than the norm. Where you can do what you want because it is sci fi.
Trust me you will not be disappointed. I enjoyed this one so much that I am now working my way through all her books. Gotta love Kindle Unlimited.
Ugh. I loved this so much. For some reason, I kept scrolling past this book and finally decided to read it late last night. It actually wasn't as steamy as I thought it might be, but still pretty steamy. The fluff was amazing, though, and I loved both the hero and heroine. This author is definitely on my list for when I'm looking for a kindle unlimited romance book to read in 1 sitting.

In this wonderful sci-fi romance we meet Meg she is trying her hardest to keep her slowly dieing farm alive. It has been one disaster after another. She needs something to change for the better. Who knew one night on a blind date and a case of mistaken identity would be the best thing that ever happened to her. Roardon is a half bread never excepted in either world condemned to walk alone. Until Meg. She is everything that his beast and his human side wants. One night of passion was all he thought they would have. But when she buys his work contract and hires him as a farm hand he finds it harder then ever not to want to claim her as his mate. But could she except all of him? Just as things start to heat up between Meg and Roardon an enemy makes himself known and he has dark intentions on Meg and the farm. A wonderful New year, blind date read. Another home run of a story from Honey Phillips. This reader could not put it down.
Meg and Roardon were absolutely PERFECT! From the moment they met until their HEA—the sparks just FLEW off the page! I really appreciated the fact that he was a strong, “built” hero who was plenty alpha while at the same time a gentleman to his core. He waited for Meg’s signals and acquiescence before letting his dominant urges take over. I also really appreciated that Meg was a headstrong woman while at the same time being practical, loving and considerate towards Roardon. Absolutely loved!!! Sometimes authors don’t quite get that balance of those qualities right in characters but Ms. Philips TOTALLY nailed it. I cannot wait to read the next book in this colonization series. SO excited!!!
Meg meets Roardon on a blind date mix-up. It is instant attraction for both of them. They spend one night together. Meg is in town to hire a farmhand to help her on her farm and who does she end up with but Roardon. Strange things have been happening on the farm and Roardon is determined to find out what is going on and keep Meg safe.
Her Alien Farmhand: Blind Date With An Alien by Honey Phillips, this was a blind date, right coloured shirt, wrong date but right hero. Roardon is the perfect date/farmhand for Meg. This series has the sweet endearing aspects of Treasured by the Alien Series which I love. This was a one sitting read for me, Roardon is an alien shifter coming from two worlds, but they have a instant pull to each other. Meg is working a failing farm on her own and is lonely, but this blind date changes it all. There is romance, lots of heat, suspense and a heartwarming story to enjoy. I hope that Blind Date With An Alien becomes a new series, I enjoyed this story full of the Honey Phillips magic.
Meg owns a farm that is barely holding on and goes to town to see about hiring a worker (or buy his contract as it is in this story). She decides to stay with a friend to save $ and her friend sets her up with a blind date for new year’s. She is told to look for a guy in a red shirt. I’m not going to give anymore spoilers, you will just have to read the rest! The story unfolds in dramatic fashion but it is truly a great adventure to read!

Honey Phillips once again writes a beautiful story filled with love and acceptance. Roardon as a halfbreed, was never accepted by society and has lead a lonely existence. Through mistaken identity, he meets and falls in love with what the beast inside him determines as his mate. Meg’s acceptance of him is the balm Roardon has been searching for. Throw in some mystery and tension filled scenes, you have the makings of a dynamic read that will keep you turning the pages biting your nails! Excellent holiday read! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
