Hey Loves! I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri (in the words of Nelly, “I’m from the Lou and I’m proud!) with incredible parents and two amazing older sisters. Born Stacey Renee, I was the baby of the bunch and always had a vivid imagination – was wise beyond my years (to grown for my own good) if you ask my mother!
My love for talking too much (ha!), journaling, daydreaming, reading & watching various genres of movies, books I went to journalism school, determined to become Oprah! After finishing my degree, I did everything but becoming a journalist. I dishonored my childhood dreams of being in some form of entertainment but found a way to use this big mouth for good in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space.
I rekindled my love for reading and writing during the 2020 pandemic where my alter ego & pen name, Robbi Renee was born. Robbi is my daddy’s nickname so my pen name pays homage to him. (Yep! I’m still a daddy’s girl!) Renee, as you can see is my middle name – Robbi Renee!
I started Love Notes by Robbi Renee as an outline to release all of the stories that live in my head. I was challenged to write and publish my first novella, French Kiss Christmas, published December 2020.
Robbi Renee draws upon personal experiences with life and love. My written works are inspired by my adoration for Black love, and stories of romance, heartache, trauma, intuition, and redemption.
Stacey/Robbi Renee enjoys her own Black family love story with her husband George and teenage son.
How it started: 🎶 Then you told me that you loved me more than anything in your life. So I asked you would you do me the honor of being my wife….. yes I will🎶
How it ended: 🎶 Always, seems like reality Forever, don't seem so far away. All I wanna do, all I wanna feel, all I wanna be is close to you. Everyday, is my lucky day🎶
Garrett and Nia are 6 months into their engagement and Nia is still being the flighty, cagey guarded woman she’s been since the beginning of their relationship. Just when Garrett feels that progress is made, they take 5 steps back.
Frustrated now more than ever, Garrett puts his foot down and gives Nia an ultimatum. That coupled with family secrets exposing themselves, this walk down the aisle is proving to be more trouble than anyone could have anticipated.
This was a really good continuation to Nia and Garrett’s love story and while Nia worked my last mf nerve, I’m happy they were finally able to get it together.
Not only did Garrett take Nia to magical Paris, but he used the trip as a way, to replace all of her painful memories. He proves to her he is in the relationship for the long run. Unfortunately, shocking secrets from their parent's past lives, turn out to be devastating. In addition, what Garrett's vindictive mother does, during the shopping trip is horrific!
I enjoyed this follow up on Nia and Garrett but not as much as the first book. This story took us on their journey to get to their wedding day and was filled with some pretty heavy family secrets being revealed. You still get to see the undying love between Garrett and Nia and see them support each other through it all and that was my favorite part. I could have done without all the drama, but it is life at times.
Just a little quirk to mention because it can be a little annoying while reading, but this author used the thesaurus heavily so everything is overly descriptive and a bit wordy, but this was still an enjoyable story.
So this one was smoother. The writing style definitely loosened up, although there are still some language choices that felt over complicated and a little burdensome. And it explored some heavy things, which almost felt too heavy for a holiday romance. I liked Nia and Garrett, but a little grief counseling wouldn't have hurt either one.
But their love--THEIR LOVE--oh it was so good. So sweet, and nurturing, redeeming and safe. It was wonderful the way they each were a soft place to land for the other, a constant beacon of understanding and passion and love. I swooned. The family drama was a nice little twist, and didn't take too much away from them as a couple. It was a solid story.
I’m so happy this was a holiday series. Found love during Christmas and now the continuation of their romance at New Year’s Perfect contemporary romance read for the new year!!!
Robbi Renee’s characters make you believe in true love again. I set here reading and planning my third wedding. French Kisses is so sweet! Please! It won’t be a waste of time!
Nia and Garrett got engaged in Paris on New Year's Eve, and since then, Nia won't commit to a wedding date. After a little sexual persuasion, she agrees to the following New Year's Eve. But first, they have to meet each other's family, and several secrets are revealed. ✨ I enjoyed meeting this couple in French Kiss Christmas, but Nia and Garrett are a whole vibe in the novella. Their support systems really stood out in this one, as well. If I had to pick just one favorite character, it would have to be Garrett. He was the remedy to all that ached Nia. His body, thoughtfulness and sex game were just an added plus. Unfortunately, his mother was my least favorite character until…she wasn't (you'll have to read the book in order to see why). ✨ I highly recommend this this novella by @robbireneewrites, but only after you've read French Kiss Christmas.
“French Kiss New Year (A Holiday Snack 2) 🎆🥂🥳🥰 was another phenomenal read‼️My goodness, those Marx men even two generations deep still driven the women 🤤 crazy‼️…According to Nia, yup, undisputed ownership 😂🤣: PPT (Promise, Please, Thank you 🤷🏾♀️. Thereafter, I’m glad both Nia & Garrett received the resolution for each of their wounded hearts. Their commitment & love journey was beautiful New Years Eve wedding celebration crescendo into their “perfect line over a tight beat”….Brown Sugar Classic 🤎‼️👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿💐Congratulations once again Ms. Renee.
It was great getting a follow-up to Garrett and Nia’s story. I absolutely love Garrett and the way he loves Nia—his openness and consistency really stood out. I especially enjoyed seeing the MMC not shy away from expressing his love in meaningful ways.
The story explored family secrets and the challenge of navigating past events, which added depth to their relationship and growth. Overall, this was an enjoyable continuation, and I’d definitely recommend it to readers who want to spend more time with Garrett and Nia and see how their story unfolds.
I want to start off that Garrett's mother was doing too much. Her issue should have always been with her husband but to take it out on someone's child was ridiculous. So many secrets but I am grateful that Nia and Garrett were honest with each other. Garrett is still bae. The way he loved on Nia...whew..."eyes on me Bella"...swoon worthy! Enjoyed this read.
I loved this! This is a continuation of Nia and Garrett’s story from French Kiss Christmas.
I adore Nia and Garrett! Their love was so beautiful. It was sweet, nurturing and safe. Their relationship allowed either to fall and the other to catch them. They were each other’s safe space. Garrett continues to have my heart with his gentle and calming nature which allows Nia to feel secure and happy. I just love them!
Robbi Renee is the master of giving us everything we need in a perfect little package. French Kiss New Year takes place six months following Garrett and Nia’s whirlwind engagement. We follow this couple as they uncover family secrets and bridge gaps with their families while they travel the road to their official forever. This was perfectly balanced with heart, drama, and smut. Required holiday reading for my romance lovers 💕
You know you did it again right. Nia and Garrett are goals for me😂. You never cease to amaze me with anything you put your heart and mind to. Garrett and Belle (Nia) are perfect for one another. I’m not going to give away any spoilers but what I will say is nothing is off limits to these two. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars…
Nia and Garrett's love story had me in tears! I love their unconditional love for one another! This book is an example of excellence in black love! And I love how Renee ties in other characters from her books. Now I got to go re-read Pretty Shattered Heart and Pretty Shattered Soul! Also interested to see what will happen with Zion and the Kindred brother! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was so well written, flowed well and was definitely interesting. Secrets were revealed. The only thing that I wanted to know was the reason for Nia’s parents’ deaths. Garrett was definitely there to catch her each time she fell. I despised Garret’s mom attitude in the beginning, but I’m glad that she got her act together.
I love their story from their Christmas book to the wedding. Nia and Garett is such a beautiful story. Garett is book bae for real. The way he loved her a gloved on her was amazing to read. I can't wait t read about Garett's sister Zion and a Kindred brother. Such a great read.
This is an excellent follow up story between Nia and Garrett. The unexpected secrets were mind blowing, especially after learning the connections. I enjoyed reading this story.
Garrett all and Nia listened!!!... I love that he understood the assignment of leaving his mother when joining with his future wife!!!...Crazy how these families were intertwined and managed to keep it together while merging their families!!!...
Very sweet story for the new year holiday. Nia and Garrett were able to get happy ending and stick together even though their families had some huge secrets and Zamora was being a handful. The surprises from Garrett for Nia during the wedding planning day with the girls was top tier.
This episode had a little drama .. not baddd. I definitely was starting to not like the MIL but who does in real life 🤷♀️ they just the worse some of them.
In any event, it was a nice read. Dragged a little but it was good and entertaining.
I was swooning and kicking my feet through the whole book. I'm so glad my faves got their happy ending! Those family dynamics took me for a loop though LOL😍😂
