Sophia "Cherry" Fox thought she had put her husband, Sgt. at Arms of the LOKI MC, in her rearview mirror for good. But when destiny conspires to bring the estranged mates back together, the passion which immediately spirals between them is too intense to ignore, so Cherry agrees to give their relationship another go. Fate is not ready to go easy on the star-crossed lovers, though. Lesleigh Hicks was elated when his wife first walked back through the doors of his tattoo shop, yet a bloody incident proves that Titan is too far gone for even the power of a re-ignited mating bond to heal. So the Sgt. at Arms takes off, determined to find someone to put him in the ground before his dangerous grizzly can do any further harm to the people he loves. Unfortunately, as soon as Cherry is left alone and vulnerable, Poleaxe--who has had his eyes on the panda shifter since she first found her mate all those years ago--swoops in to kidnap her. Now it’s up to Lesleigh and his LOKI brothers to pull out all the stops and rescue his mate before the damage done by their enemy is too great. Once the traumatized Cherry is home again, can she and Lesleigh work through the pain of recent events to build a future for their family? And will the fated pair finally find a way to mend the broken pieces of their souls so that they can claim their long-awaited and much-deserved HEA? Cherry is part two of a paranormal MC romance duet. It’s a full on steamfest with growly bear shifters and a heroine who loves adult language. If you have read K.O. Newman before then you know her books are full of sexually explicit content, a little bit of blood and violence, and fated mates who are ready to throw down to keep their loved ones safe. *** This book deals with surprise pregnancy, sexual assault, and its traumatic after effects. It also contains other themes not suitable for all audiences and is intended for readers 18+ only. ***
K.O. Newman is a neurospicy author of steamy, panty-melting paranormal romance. A lifelong reader who overcame dyslexia to bring sass and sizzle to your shelves. Her queer-inclusive books include motorcycle clubs of monsters, aliens, and bearded bad-boys.
Outside her life as an author, Kat is a mom of two brilliant children, and wife to a supportive husband. She lives in the Midwestern U.S., but Kat's heart truly lies in a little town in Vermont, home of her Lords of Khaos series.
My heart broke but was renewed again in this third book in the LOKI series, this being the "sequel" to the cliff-hanger ending from Lesleigh's book, where I was literally chomping at the bit for more.
This book has trigger warnings and although it doesn't delve into gory details, it can cause some triggers for those who are sensitive to them - so be warned.
I won't give any spoilers away but...
I really felt for Cherry and Les and all the tragedy they experienced and how they overcame it together. Some lingering questions were finally answered, as I've read the series from book 1 so it was good to know what has been happening behind the scenes. So many things make sense now!
This was so well-written and delicately handled in regards to the trauma Cherry experienced. I loved how well Cherry and Les are together and getting to catch up with the LOKI peeps.
I'm looking forward to the next book and seeing what else K.O. has in store!
It was a very exciting read! It wasn’t all sunshine and roses as you probably can guess from the blurb but the darkness is necessary for the story to be true to our characters!
Your heart will mourn and burn and feel deeply for the characters and they will also rejoice and sing for them as well.
Love is tested in the biggest ways and you will wonder if it can win!
K.O. Newman knows how to keep you wondering how she can put her characters what she does- my thoughts- she gives just what we need to keep coming back!
'A satisfying conclusion to a two-part cliffhanger story, spanning across two thrillingly enticing reads. K.O.Newman is at her best here, and I'm hanging on every word she writes.
Thank you to K.O.Newman for sending me an ebook Advanced Readers Copy for me to read and leave an honest review. It's a pleasure and an honour to be on your ARC/Street Team to support you and your work. ----------------------
*Trigger warning - Cherry runs with the occasional dark theme, touching upon issues/subjects such as sexual assault, light BDSM and impact play. If you are triggered by these things, please do not pick up Cherry. If you would like to read on, please take care when reading. No sexual violence happens on page as you read, but occurs in flashbacks/mentions. K.O.Newman has done a fantastic job of respectfully dealing with these dark themes with great dignity, and should be applauded for bringing awareness to them as such.
I've followed this series right from the first book, Malachai, and book by book this series thanks to K.O.'s killer writing, I've fallen more and more back into loving shifter/paranormal romances. I was a huge reader of both genres/tropes over a decade ago when reading YA novels, it was quite honestly the only thing I would read as I wasn't into mainstream romance, and I'm surprised at how things have come back in a full circle with reads such as Malachai, Lesleigh (Book Two, PT 1) and now Cherry (Book Three, part 2).
K.O. has also convinced me to give MC romances a go again. I've read the occasional MC romance in the past, though none have stood out or floated my boat. The Lords of Khaos: Ironwood has changed both of those and I'm happy to say, it's changed for the good. The oh-so good!
Cherry picks up where Lesleigh left off, and pandas, shifters and bears, oh my did it get left with a doozy of a cliffhanger. Thankfully for a cliffhanger (aka 'Cliffy') phobe like me, K.O. gave me the heads up and I was able to enjoy part one to their story without being angry at the author for leaving the story where it was left. I could enjoy the read and look forward to picking up part two as and when. The 'when' is now and was worth the wait in gold.
This story is the literal literary journey from what it means to sink to the lowest of the low and ride the sweet bike to destination happily ever after. Though most of the focus is on Cherry and her road to recovery from the dark themes named at the beginning of my review, Lesleigh has his own demons to battle so that he can be the mate he thinks she deserves, then the mate he knows she deserves. Seeing the two navigate their own paths, their own inner demons to be able to face the bigger challenges ahead and any obstacles that may come their way was just --chefs kiss--, superbly written. I couldn't have written a better darkness-to-light story if I tried.
Of course, there was a time or two where I wanted to reach into the page and smack Lesleigh--occasionally Cherry too--upside the head, but that's what I love about a good book. And you know when you read a good book when it makes you want to physically climb on inside and interact with the characters within. Cherry was that book, and not just for the moments for slapping upside heads or eye-rolling. Those PG-18 steamy scenes...woah! I'm seriously leaving this as a suggestion to the author, kindly make Lesleigh to be able to be ordered at a link in your Linktree. It will be most appreciated.
Praise has to be given for K.O.'s entire team. From her Sisters of the Page, her tribe, her book wife and fellow author Miri Stone, Mariah Thayer (editor), WaH friends and looper buddies--they'll know who they are--please know that all of your help and support into the creation and birth of this book has not been for nothing. An author is an author regardless of who they do or don't have behind them, but you all have helped shape one hell of a read and K.O. should be proud--and probably is--of each and every single one of you. You're an asset to her and the final result speaks more than volumes to each and every one of your involvements. Well done!
Cherry is book three of K.O Newman’s Lords of Khaos: Ironwood series and the second half of Lesleigh and Cherry’s story. To enjoy this book you really need to have read at least book 2 (Lesleigh). This book is told in dual POV. Reader beware: read the trigger warnings, this book deals with some heavy and dark material and may not be for everyone. My mind is SERIOUSLY blown. I could not put this book down, I blew through this and after I had finished it I had to sit back and adjust to the real world again. Gut wrenching, heartbreaking, emotionally devastating- Cherry will put you through the ringer. Kat sure made us work for this HEA. I could not be more in love with a couple. There is so much going on behind the scenes, so many twists and turns that keep you glued to the pages and rooting for Les and Cherry to succeed. There was so much that we had no clue about that turned this plot upside down. The chemistry is off the charts, the plot flowed seamlessly, and every character will impact you. Cherry is a mother effing SURVIVOR! One of the strongest characters I’ve ever read. The way Kat writes Cherry’s journey through a traumatic assault and the hell that comes after is so well done, seeing it from the perspective of the victim as well as loved ones is heartbreaking at the same time as it is awe inspiring. Watching Les deal with his decisions and feelings will give you all the feels, he may be a grizzly shifter but that man has the biggest heart. This is probably one of my favorite series and thank goodness we are just getting started because I need so much more LOKI in the future. This book will put you through it but it is so worth it in the end. Kat, thank you for such an incredible book and a wonderful series! Go read this series, you will not be disappointed! ARC graciously given by the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
What a ride! This book has some of my favorite tropes and it still surprised me deeply! While in the first part, Cherry had left Lesleigh for believing he had cheated on their bond, in this one Les just left Cherry believing he's protecting her from his now-out-of-control Bear, which he calls Titan, since Titan has been viciously destroying wildlife in the territory and they can't figure out why.
However, while Lesleigh thinks he's a danger to his mate, there's something much more dangerous lurking the shadows just waiting for them to slip.
Since there's a build up from the previous book, you are already acquainted to the characters and how they behave and we also get to see how Cherry and Lesleigh are rebuilding their trust to make the relationship work. Love is not enough to hold a couple together and they know it.
K.O. Newman really made justice to Cherry's plot. She was torn apart and rebuilt inside of what happened to her, but what rebuilt her wasn't only her loving mate or her close friends. Her healing came from the inside and by that, Cherry became one of my favorite female characters. She is strong and fierce! And Lesleigh might have been irresponsible when he left Cherry in order to protect her, but he's a very likable character. He's strong, thoughtful and so caring! Even when he thought he'd be alone forever, he never stopped loving or caring for his mate. He just couldn't find the strength to stop caring.
The pacing is amazing, everything flows naturally and the traumatic situation is addressed in a very responsible way by the author.
However, heed to the TWs! And more important: This book is the second part of the Les and Cherry's story and can't be read as a standalone. You must read Lesleigh before start Cherry.
This is way darker than the previous books in this saga, but well worth the read. The love story is swoon worthy. I find myself with a sudden urge to head east to find myself a bear with a LOKI patch. The contrast from dark and nasty to hot and steamy to sweet and heart melting to amazing. A well rounded story with a little something for everyone.
I had a thing for Les since book one. I love me a dark, dirty, and slightly crazy man. Les checked all of my boxes. I was unsure how is feel about Cherry after meeting her in Lesleigh. But I found myself hoping for her and Les to get their happy ending as this book takes you into Hell and then back.
Another amazing shifter tale by K.O. Newman. I can't wait for the next one.
LOVE IT!! This book calls for a strong heart to read it. I don´t have any triggers but poleaxe really tried to find buttons to push. God he is so horrible!! Cherry and Lesleigh go thru so much that I couldn't wait for their happy ending!! The lord of chaos series is one of the best I've read lately and I will patiently wait for the next!!!
Cherry is book 3 of this series. Trigger warning this book runs on the dark side. Cherry picks up where Lesleigh left off. Les leaves because his bear has hurt Cherry. So, the MC and her clan want her to wait on them to bring him back, but Cherry does not want to. The more time away he is the more she wants to go after him. But Les is determined to stay away because he is afraid his bear is sick, and he will not put her or his clan in risk. But when the MC get a lead, they leave out but so does Cherry but then she gets kidnapped before she gets a chance to go far. The things that Cherry goes through while she is kidnapped will shatter your heart. But Les’s bear feels her in danger and starts return back to her when he meets up with the MC on the way. When they make it back to Ironwood and found out she was taken. Les wants to find her no matter what. By time they found her the things, she has been through has now made her a shell of person she was. But when Cherry will fight to get back to herself. And Les will be there for every step of the way. Cherry journey and the way it was written is incredible. She went to hell and had to battle back. And to see them get their HEA was fantastic.
Cherry and Lesleigh journey were intense and heartbreaking at times. I was surprised at how much Kat went through the victim pov. I love Cherry and Lesleigh and even though their journey was rocky. Cherry is bad ass, and she is now one of my favorite characters. I hope Whisper gets a story soon. I love both Lesleigh and Cherry, I recommend both books. I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars.
Wow! This book really put my emotions through the wringer. It’s very intense and I would definitely classify it as a dark romance. There’s a whole write up from the author in the beginning about the trigger warnings. So be sure to read that if you have any concerns. That being said, I found the conclusion to this duet to be a full bodied read where the author tears things down then slowly builds them back up again to culminate in a wonderful HEA for main characters, Cherry and Les. Once I started reading, I literally couldn’t stop and now I’m anxious to read more about the LOKI biker club characters. I also really hope the witch character Cordelia turns up again in this series, because she was super interesting. Five stars for this dark bear shifter romance!
Cherry By K.O. Newman is book three in the Lords of Khaos: Ironwood books. This is also book two to the duet of Lesleigh and Cherry. This book also follows the story of bear shifter Lesleigh and panda shifter Cherry who are fated mates. It is a fated mates shifter motorcycle club romance novel. There are some triggers in this one, so make sure you check those before you read. I found this book to be HEAVY; because it does deal with some hard real life struggles. But I do think it makes the ending these characters get, so much sweeter and special.
This is the conclusion of the previous book. Les and Cherry's hea. This one hard to read for me because of some triggers, but overall it's a great book. It has dragons in it, so even better.
It was difficult to read some of the torment that both of them went through. Lots of emotions and heartache but also healing and finding you are stronger than your enemy is what has happened to them.
This one is darker than the others but KO Newman handles the sensitive subjects with grace. I loved the development of Cherry and Lesleigh’s relationship. Can’t wait to see whose book is next.
