Through smoke and fire, she’s all I see.

Nothing gives me a bigger rush than when I’m responding to an emergency call.
As a firefighter EMT, my mission has always been clear.
Until I arrive at the scene of an accident and a dark-haired vixen, quite literally, trips into my life.
I quickly learn there’s more to the gorgeous photographer than meets the eye.

Meadow Matthews isn’t a woman who needs saving, but she just might save me.
As a single mom to an adorable little boy, she leaves little time for play.
Which is why, when I approach her with a fun opportunity, she instantly declines.
Unfortunately, snapping photos of greased-up firefighters for a calendar isn’t her thing.

Lucky for us, she fires me up just enough to convince her otherwise.

Fired Up is a standalone single-parent medical romance in the Bayside Heroes world.

This was hands down my most addicting read of 2021. I was sucked in from the start and found myself devouring page after page. Allen’s writing style is smooth like honey, sweet and tantalizing, and I couldn’t get enough. Fired Up is sexy, charming, and downright delectable. Not just a must-read, but a must-read-again!

Fresh starts, a single parent, a sexy fireman, and so much swoon- the perfect combination for a sweet, feel good romance and yet another stellar addition to this fantastic Bayside Hero series.

KK treats us to the story of delicious Asher- the mysterious and seemingly distracted fireman we met in the prior stories. He's not looking for anything serious- just wants to focus on his career- until beautiful Meadow moves back home with her precious three year old son Tate. She too is hesitant to dive into any relationship, she's too busy focusing on being a single mom and trying to kick start her photography career. But her connection with Asher is undeniable and irresistible. And KK so beautifully teases us with their chemistry and sizzle, the push-pull tension that can't be ignored and soon they dive into each other. They are simply adorable together, and I loved watching fall. Even more so, scene stealing Tate melted my heart, and seeing Asher bond with the little guy made my ovaries want to explode from the preciousness of it.

Both of these characters have some past baggage, which only endeared me to them further. Ashery is just so dreamy- the epitome of the humble, nice guy heroes we’ve seen in this series. He’s charming, incredibly sexy, generous and kind-hearted. His past relationship did a number on him (and he’s still dealing with the fallout), but he can’t help but open his heart to Tate and Meadow. She’s even more cautious, and I loved how she’s strong but gentle, stoic but vulnerable.

I am simply ADORING this series- each author has brought the feels, a bit of humor, meaningful emotional, and lots of heat. Every story has been so sweetly consuming, and Asher and Meadow gave me all the feel-good happies as they find their way to each other and figure things out. And, we get to see the other characters I’m madly in love with. This series has been such an unexpected surprise- I really hope we find our way back to this world once it’s over!

TOP FAVORITE READ OF 2021!

KK Allen’s heartfelt and poetic prose always strikes me in the feels, but Fired Up adds several extra layers of spice. HOT DAMN!

Asher Moore is a swoony hero you’ll easily fall for. The fact he’s a fireman/EMT only heightens his appeal. He’s kind, dedicated, charming, and just the right amount of jaded/broken/distrusting that the perfect woman will just swoop in.

Enter Meadow Matthews. I love me a single mom trope and this one is an emotional masterpiece. She works so hard for her baby boy. That love pours through the pages.

Together, Asher and Meadow prove that unique bond between two people truly exists and it’s so beautiful. I couldn’t stop reading! UNPUTDOWNABLE and addictive in the best ways. Make sure you read this one!

Spoiler alert

Entertaining enough and really cute. I love how charming the hero is, and I love single mom books so those were definite pluses. The only thing I wasn't really a fan of was the ex-wife drama.

Typical cliche drama where the ex comes back claiming to be preggo with the heros baby🙄 if I would have known this before, I probably wouldn't have even read this book tbh. Thankfully it didn't cause too much drama and it didn't last long as the baby wasn't his thankfully, but knowing he slept with he cheating ex just a few months before the heroine is a big turn off. If I was the heroine, i would have probably broken up with him, especially after her insecurities 😬 but whatever. At least the hero was really sweet and her having a kid already makes up for it just a bit😅

I do wish the epilogue was longer though or at least a bonus scene because I really wanted to see him with his own baby, and the ending was super short so that was disappointing. But i was never bored and they really did have a cute relationship so, overall a good book.

Safety:

No cheating

Heroine has been celibate for about 3 years since she had her son and when her husband died

Hero was celibate for almost two years during his separation with his ex wife, then drunkenly slept with her a few months before the start of the book on the night their divorce was finalized

Ow drama- ex wife appears a few time and causes drama. She claims she is preggo with heros baby, but its not his

Few details of their pasts- both have had 4 partners

Asher was the type of wounded hero that I love. He was fighting his attraction to Meadow but watching him fail at it was wonderful. Dang, he was as hot as a five alarm fire when he began seducing Meadow.

Canning Vale firefighter happy to be Mr January in calendar for charity | Community News

Meadow had her own issues to contend with but when she yielded, she absolutely glowed! While I loved her, I have to admit that Tate stole the show as well as my heart and that of Asher as well. He was adorable and I couldn’t help but smile with every scene he was in.

This doesn’t have any moments of danger but it has some pretty serious angst towards the end. I was not a fan of the reason for the problem. However, this author did an amazing job of developing these characters enough that I cared about their happiness. The epilogue healed all my hurts and I was glad I stuck through to the end.

Asher Moore has STOLEN MY HEART!!! Ahh... he's cocky but sweet, playful but serious when he needs to be, and HOT AS FIRE! He's the perfect book boyfriend. And Meadow is just my favorite kind of book bestie. She's a strong single mom who has clear goals and knows what she wants, and she is not afraid to get it. And these two **GET IT** many times and it is HOT! I love the beautiful story, love the smokin hot spice! Don't miss this FIERY book. I promise, you'll be so happy you did...

Yup, this was a winner and continued the success of this inter-connected series about people who work together and are friends. We have been seeing them interact and each book focuses on a different couple and how they happen to be together. For me, this really works and all of them are written by favorite authors, too.

In Fire Up we have a couple that each was married before, one was widowed and the other had a sticky divorce.
They have fateful meetings and it seems they are destined to be together. She has the cutest young son and what really works is the chemistry not just with the couple but with the little boy and the new man.

There was a maturity between this couple that I appreciated, tested by a situation that proved they were really meant to be. This also had the signature sexy times of a K.K. Allen novel.
A lovely addition to this series.

Made me smile…

I see this author’s name and I immediately click. Book blurb? Cover? Nope, don’t need it. That is how I ended up with this stand-alone in the Bayside Heroes series. I’ve added the others to the TBR but I had to dive into this one right away…

Meadow and Tate were an unbeatable combination. Asher, well he was the best. Charming, good looking, and such a good guy. And a FIREFIGHTER! Swoon… And his love for Meadow? Well, those were #lovegoals for sure. An unfortunate first meeting meant he had to work hard. Like, really hard to gain back the ground he lost (before he even started trying!). His persistence, and certainty that it could work, meant every obstacle was tackled with humour, sincerity and an irresistible dose of that (already mentioned) charm. Meadow was cautious, yet she met every obstacle in the same way. Head-on, no false drama, just straight-up honest emotion. The way they both stepped up when needed carved out a permanent spot on my re-read shelf.

One of my top favourites of the year! ~Diane, 5 stars

Holy smokes (pun intended)! Where can I find a real life Asher Moore? His ex-wife didn't make him jaded to commitment. Thank goodness! While he and Meadow didn't get off on the right foot the first time they met, it is a good thing there's something called second chances. Their attraction and chemistry was sizzling hot! Those scenes were spicy hot! But the thing that really lit the fire was how Asher took to Meadow's son Tate. Sigh... Tate asking if Asher's intentions were honowwible? Oh my goodness! I loved how Asher was respectful of Tate, putting him and his feelings first. Asher's ex on the other hand, had howwible intentions. Had your chance, lady. Back off! KK Allen created such lovable characters, but little Tate stole a piece of my heart.

I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.

After reading about Asher and Meadow in the previous book, I found out that their story was nothing like I expected. It was even better.

With a firefighter/EMT who modeled for a calendar, and a sexy photographer, I thought it would be more a workplace romance, model/photographer kind of story. Not at all. Because the characters were much more than their profession.

Sure, Asher was the cocky, confident, funny man I’d seen in book 1 and 2, but he was also a lonely man, just coming out of a painful marriage, who still dreamed of the family that was refused to him for so long, when at the same time he was afraid of dating. Until, of course, he met Meadow.

Meadow was first and foremost a mother. She dedicated her whole life to Tate, her son. First by marrying his father, then by holding on when he died before moving with her mother. Dating wasn’t on her agenda, especially with a young boy who could scare a man away, and offering her time for a charity wasn’t either because she needed the money. But after meeting Asher, she reconsidered.

Their romance was beautiful and cute and sexy. There’s so much attraction between them! Yet, at the same time, they enjoy spending time together, and once Tate is in the picture, he becomes part of their story as a couple. The domesticity was adorable.

I’m a sucker for the big conflict at the beginning of act three, that threatens the relationship, and I feel let down when there isn’t. Not this time. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a big drama, but the best part is that there isn’t any conflict. There’s tension, there’s anticipation from the reader, there’s some fear, but… you’ll see what happens exactly when you read it. I loved it, and it was powerful.

Some may find this book too sweet for their taste, but there was the right amount of fun and drama to balance the sugary romance. Maybe a bit over the top at times, but it keeps the story going. Well done.

Quickie

- Series: Bayside heroes #3 (can be read as a standalone)
- Hashtags: #firefighter romance #single mom #other woman
- Triggers: cheating, mention of death
- Main couple: Meadow Matthews & Asher Moore
- Hotness: 4/5
- Romance: 5/5
- + Asher was so in touch with his feelings
- – maybe the ex-wife was a bit too evil

Well, KK Allen has done it again. I absolutely loved this story. It felt so effortless and addicting. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and world KK built for us. The story was original and light hearted.. and the characters... The characters were full of so much personality. I honestly couldn't help but flip page after page, devouring every word to get to the next. Here to hoping the other authors who are writing in this world can nail it as well as KK Allen did with Fired Up.

There's nothing I love better than a second chance romance, whether it's a second chance with a lost love or two people getting a second chance to find a new love.

Asher Moore and Meadow Matthews have both loved and lost, and neither is looking for a relationship. Asher is plenty busy working as a fireman and getting his EMT certification. And Meadow has just moved back home to Tampa while getting her photography business going and raising her three-year-old son, Tate.

There is so much to love about this one! Asher and Meadow may be reluctant to enter into a relationship because, reasons, but their chemistry is undeniable and beyond their control. There's so much delicious tension and undercurrent until these two finally admit what's right in front of them. And then there's the adorable little Tate who steals every scene. The sweet, precious bromance between him and Asher is the ultimate heart squeeze!

I love all of the Bayside Heroes series, but this one hit me extra hard in the feels. Humorous and lighthearted but steamy and emotional, this is the best kind of romance, and this talented storyteller gives us a masterful, memorable read. Be sure to add this one to your TBR right away. I have no doubt you'll love these characters as much as I do.

Fired Up is the story of Asher and Meadow. They have a bit of the opposite of a meet-cute initially, during a massive car accident. After Asher apologizes, they just kind of get thrown together as he convinces her to photograph his charity firefighter calendar.

Asher was an amazing character. He makes his desire and attraction to Meadow known, but not in a bossy or pushy way. He was open about his feelings but very understanding and sweet. The sparks fly between him and Meadow and both jump headfirst into a relationship. Meadow is a single mom and her son is the highlight of her life. Tate was adorable and he quickly formed an attachment to Asher.

There was a little bit of drama with Asher’s ex-wife, but it was handled so well. Asher and Meadow were great at communication and so open with each other.

Fired Up was a hot, sweet, adorable, and swoon worthy story. I’ll now be searching out more from K.K. Allen!

Fired Up by K.K.Allen brings the next sexy and emotional instalment of Bayside Heroes series. This medical romance series is proving to be one of the best series this year! Asher and Meadow are fire together but their love story was not easy as they were both dealing with their demons from past. Asher is epitome of swoony, gorgeous and alpha hero while Meadow will win your heart with her sweetness and fierceness.
.
Asher is the firefighter who also works as EMT with Bayside Regionals hospital. He meets Meadow while attending an accident scene. It is a small world indeed as Meadow is the photographer suggested by his friend for the charity event they are organising as part of their foundation for burn victims. Meadow has just moved in Tampa Bay with her son Tate for a fresh start. And while Asher is so tempting, she is not sure she is ready for a relationship. Asher has gotten out of a long toxic marriage and he doesn't want serious either. But their pull is undeniable.
.
I loved Asher so much. There is nothing not to love about a man who is an everyday hero, has a big heart ( and a big ego), is ridiculously charming and has a lots of sex appeal. He was treated so poorly by his ex wife and he deserves all the happiness. He cares for Meadow deeply and she is the first woman who has enticed him after his divorce. He didn't judge Meadow and he also cares for Tate intensely. Meadow was hesitant and cautious and wanted to protect her heart and her boy but Asher really broke down her walls. They are so adorable and sexy together. The chemistry was so good. There were some drama but they held to each other through it all. I loved meeting the crew of Bayside Regional and I strongly suggest you to read the other stories. These guys live through so much saving lives and protecting others in danger and they need all the love in this world. The close friendship between the characters is an added bonus of this book. I really enjoyed their bromance.

If you love to read medical romance or single parent romance or just an entertaining romance, you have to read Fired Up by K.K. Allen.

Five Stars!

Asher and Meadow had me from the beginning. They both are very likable characters that are devoted to their careers.

Meadow had just made the move back to Tampa to be close to her mom and get some extra help with her son Tate. Asher divorced and ready to move on can’t get his mind off the new girl. They fall into several coincidental meet-ups before they decide to take the next step.

Meadow is a professional photographer and Asher is a firefighter, he really needs a photographer for the charity calendar he is putting together. This is what brings in the initial interest but it doesn’t revolve around working together.

Asher is this sweet, charming, and sexy man, he is a good guy and not your typical male whore, he likes commitment and after a failed marriage wants to try again. Meadow is a smart beautiful; woman that isn’t ready to take on a relationship yet, she trying to make it work in a new place as a widow, but Asher is just too tempting.

This is such an addictive read, it is cute, super sexy, and fun. K.K. has definitely become a go-to author of mine, every book I read has me wanting more. This book doesn’t have a whole lot of angst but it is heartfelt and packed with drama. And let me just say Asher is a swoony hero, the Halloween scene is HOT! I loved it!! Make this book one of the last books you read in 2021 because it will be on your favorite list.

Fired up is one of the books making up the Bayside Heroes Series. I have enjoyed all the books so far.
Asher is a firefighter/EMT and, during a call, crosses paths with Meadow, one of the drivers in a pile-up. After his less than a stellar first impression, then later at an attempted apology, they meet yet again!

Meadow is returning to Tampa after some time in California. Being a single mom, establishing a new business, and moving, she has no room on her plate for romance. There is chemistry, but will she give in? I like both Asher and Meadow, and I like them together, and I am glad they found each other.

I want to talk about the side characters, specifically his ex – Sheena. Her character is easy to dislike. She is written so well. Next is “Tater Tot,” he wins in the cute category.

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Asher and Meadow are the Reading OBSESSION you need in your life! I was entranced from their first meeting and their explosive chemistry hooked me and didn’t let go! I couldn’t read this story fast enough!

I have to say though; Tate was a show stopper!! That adorable little boy really took this story to the next level and just reading the interactions between Asher and Tate had me melting! This is one of KK’s hottest books EVER!

In all honesty what I loved about this story was how real the characters were! Asher and Meadow could be anyone and their issues were ones we have all faced and that for me is what really makes Allen’s writing so unique! She crafts characters that you connect with on so many levels! As a former single mom I could relate to Meadow and really understood her as a person!

The plus side to this story is seeing all the other Bayside Heroes as well as some new side characters that you will love! One book you definitely want to cuddle with this winter season to help heat you up!

Y’ALL! This is KK’s best steamy read yet.
🚑We meet Asher a Firefight paramedic, a tall, good looking, dare I say On fire? He is favorite Hero from Kk, I have ever read. He is witty and kind and so lovable. In more ways than you know. And oh so HOT!
I loved his story and his drive but most of all his heart 💕
🔥Then we meet Meadow, she is a tough single momma, who has been through the ringer but she still has a smile on her face. She is strong and beautiful, with the wit and brain to match.
👩‍👦Her son makes the story. As someone who was raised by a single mom, it really touched me.

I loved the chemistry these two had. I couldn’t put it down for long. I had to know what was gonna happen. If you love a good hero story and either have an emt or firefighter in your life. Please pick up this book. KK did an amazing job telling this story and including all the details of day to day life for our unsung hero’s.

I want to thank Kk for the ARC to Fired Up. This was my first ever ARC and I loved every minute.

Pick up Fired up on Kindle or Print on December 20th!

Oh my God!
I love this story so much!
Both characters are ahhhhmazing, very down to earth, relatable, endearing ... simply fantastic!
I love Asher's easy going nature, his humor, his positive charisma and his upbeat manner even though he went through hell ...
I love Meadow, her devotion to her son Tate (the cutest little guy ever) and her dedication to her job and her photography projects. I love how she blossomed and let go when she gave herself permission to live a little after going through so much ...
I love how these two characters fit together, how they interact and how strong their feelings are for each other from the beginning.
Although there are a few hurdles along the way, and although there are some twists and turns where I held my breath and my heart tried to jump out of my chest, this is a thoroughly entertaining story that made me smile and laugh so hard and root for this couple. Fired Up is another must-read in this fantastic series.

Really enjoyed this one! Meadow and Asher are both deserving of a second chance at love and they find each other at just the right time! Asher is both easy going and persistent - just the right combination to woo Meadow.

What you thought might be just a sexy hook up story becomes so much more!! These two were such a perfect fit together, both in and out of the bedroom.

Meadow’s little guy, Tate, just seals the deal for Asher and he breaks down all the carefully erected walls that Meadow puts up. Asher seems to good to be true until the conflict arises. What I liked best about the story is that both characters handled their issues very maturely and talked it out rather than blowing up, breaking up or running away.

Great addition to the Bayside Heroes series!

I received an advance reader copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing and these are my honest opinions.

This series is surely heating up with Fired Up being a perfect addition. Tate stole my heart with Asher being a close second. Asher and meadow sizzle and have this undeniable chemistry. Absolutely adored this story!

"The man is charming, and that makes him dangerous, but I'd be lying to myself if I didn't admit wanting to know more about him."

Asher Moore is to die for! Recently divorced following a rough marriage to his high-school sweetheart, he's wary about putting himself out there again. However, from the moment that Meadow Matthews literally falls into his arms, his interest is piqued. When coincidence has them in the same place at the same time repeatedly, he knows that there's no way that he's letting her go again so easily.

"Every day since I've met you has felt like a dream. I'm so afraid to wake up."

Meadow has spent the last three years raising her adorable little boy, Tate, on her own, following the death of her husband. She's just moved back to Florida to live with her mother when she meets Asher. After their first inauspicious meeting, she can't help but be charmed by him. She's wary of entering a relationship for various reasons but Asher is too gorgeous and thoughtful to deny herself.

"This outfit is making me want to do all kinds of dirty things to you, and I'm not even sorry for it."

This story was so very good! It was sweet, hella sexy, and amusing. I loved the natural growth of the relationship between Asher and Meadow. I loved that they were honest with one another and didn't play games with the other's feelings. The trust and love that grew between them was heartwarming to witness. Asher was a beautiful man with a beautiful, tender soul, and a pretty filthy mouth! I fell for him hard! Meadow was resilient, brave and a fantastic mother. These two characters were so ready for the next chapter of their lives and they found the perfect partner in each other. Such a fabulous read!
