Jonathan Wright and I go way back. We saw each other at our worst (let's not talk about the drunk punch that started it all, ok?) and our best, and still we remained best friends for ten glorious years. And things would still be under control if it wasn't for a silly kiss under the mistletoe. Because best friends can’t turn into lovers. Right?
*Office romance, friends to lovers: this cute novella is the perfect read for the holidays
Olivia and Jonathan are made for each other. And they are the only ones not to see it. They are best friends working together, and things look super platonic until they kiss under the mistletoe. The story is quick, fun and easy to get into. Olivia is cleary into Jonathan from day one, but she likes to be safe. Wrecking the friendship isn't her style. All in all, you'll cheer for the couple and want to kill Olivia for taking so long to jump Jonathan's bones. Oh and the epilogue made me teary.
Kiss Me at Midnight by E.M. Irons is a friends-to-lovers novella set on New Year’s Eve. Jonathan and Ollie first met on NYE ten years ago and have been inseparable ever since. This year, they’re paired together for a department scavenger hunt at work—and along the way, they uncover feelings neither of them was prepared for.
This was a sweet, charming novella with just the right amount of supporting characters to help the story shine without overwhelming it. The happily-ever-after was satisfying, and the epilogue was absolutely adorable.
A really cute friends to lovers and office romance for the holidays. Ophelia works with her best friend, and for the last 10 years they kept everything platonic, until a kiss under the mistletoe. And Jonathan is the perfect book boyfriend! Super quick and fun read.
I’ll start by saying that I don’t think novellas are my thing. The whole thing was 60 pages. I’m used to chapters that are longer than that. Ok…maybe that’s exaggerating…but…still. There’s not enough time to meet the characters or get a feel for anything…much less get into any story line. No matter how short. I felt like I was disconnected and missing something the whole time. I think the writing style seemed great and I thanked the characters could have a great story if they were given the shot at a real full story. But their little spiel here did nothing for me because I felt like there was no substance. Again, I think it had real potential…I a it’s the fault of it being a novella.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶️/5 Kiss me at Midnight is a sweet friends to lovers workplace romance. Olivia and Jonathan have been friends for 10 years that is until a kiss under the mistletoe changes it all. This book was so cute and added a fun little twist on office romance. It is a great one to get me in the New Years mood. I can’t wait to dive into the next one!
