The traumatic secrets of Supergirl’s past are revealed as our heroine races to the edge of the universe to escape Krem and his latest weapon! The murderer of young Ruthye’s father has gotten his hands on a Mordru globe and plans to use it to make our hero disappear forever. Can she save herself and the young girl’s future in the process? She’ll need the help of her trusty steed, Comet the Superhorse!
"What I have seen... how can I still be a little girl?" "Tomorrow will come soon enough" He said. "And I will pass and this place will pass and stars will fall and suns will rise. And you will be a woman looking back on the many decades of your life, the terrors and the triumphs. And perhaps you will think of your father then and perhaps you will remember whatever has happened, whatever pain you have ever endured… you are still my little girl.” CRYING SOBBING SHAKING THROWING UP
BEAUTIFUL ART. holy shit it looked so good. it was great to see Ruthye and Kara finally catch up to the man they are searching for, but in these moments we take a step back and learn what Kara has been through. seeing the destruction of Krypton from her perspective was really interesting.

the best issue so far and my favorite!!! so much depth and emotion compared to the other issues and the art in this one is so gorgeous (the art throughout the story has been so stellar in general)
I've really enjoyed this look into Supergirl's character and history. And this one is *almost* as good as the rest. One problem, however, is Comet the Super-Horse. He is introduced with no explanation. He's just there. And maybe the DC folks, Tom King et al, will explain him being in the right place at the right time later. But he strikes me as a big deus ex machina. And what happened to Krypto, btw?
This issue is a distillation of what has made this limited series so damn incredible — meditative, literary narration over sublime illustrations. Somehow Evely finds new ways to render Supergirl blasting across the cosmos, and King’s writing is in top form.
Poetic image to make Pound proud: an ancient bowbuck tree outside the window, blue and red leaves swaying.

Backstory chapter. "What I have seen...how can I still be a little girl?"
"Like many whose childhoods were ripped away from them, she is eternally searching for something. Perhaps justice. Perhaps explanation. Perhaps...Perhaps a tree outside her window, red and blue leaves and the wind that blows between them."
me every other issue: no wait this is my favorite.
OK but fr this is my favorite i think lol....i am a sucker for any story that meditates & handles its grief appropriately - letting it weigh heavy as it should yet delicately balancing it with hope. the art is sublime as always, but there are some sequences that are soo jaw dropping & impeccable. peak supergirl
