How it started: 🎶 Last Christmas, I gave you my heart, but the very next day, you gave it away. This year, to save me from tears, I'll give it to someone special 🎶

How it ended: 🎶 And together we can calm the stormy seas. We love so strong and so unselfishly. And I tell you now that I made a vow
I'm giving you the best that I got, baby 🎶

Tanji is a year into her divorce and is back home rebuilding her life, mentally, physically and emotionally. Feeling like a throw away after not being able to give her ex husband the one thing they wanted most, she is struggling to find her self worth.

The holidays are upon her and as she celebrates with her childhood family friends, she reconnects with her friend Tavier and it’s as if no time has passed. The roast sessions are almost immediate and they don’t take long to fall into old times. There’s just one minor difference…. they are starting to feel like more than just friends. Tavier is all in while Tanji still struggles with the residual emotional damage her ex left behind.

I REALLY enjoyed Tanji and Tavier! I absolutely loved that Tavier would not allow Tanji to wallow in self doubt and constantly spoke life into her. These two were the absolute cutest once Tanji let down her guard and I adored the ending. This was such a good read from the comedic aspect to the familial bonds. I felt like I was reading a book about my family during the holidays. The story flowed effortlessly and gave me all the feels. My only complaint would be not being able to see Antonio get the beat down or humiliation that he undoubtedly deserved. This was my introduction to Renée thanks to BRAE and I look forward to exploring her catalog a bit more.

When The Time Is Wright was a great holiday read. You'll fall in love with Tavier and your heart will break for Tanji. Their love journey was a joy to be apart of. I absolutely loved watching Tavier build Tanji's self confidence and self-esteem back up. He tore down her negative mindset and reminded Tanji of her self worth. That ex-husband of hers really did a number on Tanji. When I tell y'all I wanted to pull up and fight him after that disrespectful azz Christmas card he sent her. That's okay because, God had a another plan for Tanji and Antonio was not a part of it. These two were meant to be together. Fate made sure of it. From the moment the ran into each other at the grocery store to when Tanji moved in across the hall from Tavier in the same building. Their love was divinely orchestrated. When The Time Is Wright was a good book. It definitely gives you all the black family holiday feels. This was my first book by Renée A. Moses and it will not be the last.

Tanji x Tavier

Tavier was amazing. Tanji was emprisoned in her own mind about her past and Tavier, that man broke down all of her walls while setting her free. He uplifted her and spoke life into her. My heart broke for Tanji though. Somebody should've found Antonio and told him about himself, that pathetic little man. This story was super funny. The dialogues had me laughing. Although, I wished I had more dialogues between the H&h. But this was a good read.

Great read

Tanji moved back home with her parents after going through a divorce due to an unfortunate situation Tanji didn't know existed and that she had no control over. Not only did the divorce leave Tanji heartbroken but also mentally damaged. Due to what Tangi sees as failures Tanji wants nothing to do with a relationship, she just wants to focus on her business. Tavier is ready to find his wife and settle down. When he sees Tanji has moved back home and is now single Tavier knows in his heart Tangi is the answer to his prayers.

Tanji was so broken it brought tears to my eyes, her ex husband really did a number on her. I found myself wishing that karma would hit Antonio after the way he treated Tanji. Tavier was amazing, he was determined to make Tanji his. I loved his response when Tanji told him the reason for her divorce, I don't know how sis didn't jump on him after that. Tavier was also determined to help build Tanji’s self esteem back up regardless to how she saw herself he saw the best in her and didn’t care about what she perceived as her failures, he wanted her and there was nothing that was going to change that. While there were very sad moments in this book there where also very funny moments. Tavier and his mama had me laughing through the entire book. Tavier and Tanji had a very playful relationship that also helped balance the heavy topic. This was my first Renee A. Moses read and it definitely will not be my last! I will be reading through her catalog at the top of the year, I really enjoyed her writing style.

“I don’t want anything from you. I simply want you, period. All of you. I want your joy, your pain, your dreams, and your fears. I want you, Tanji.”

Definitely one of the best books I have read in a while! I loved how Tavier made not only Tanji feel but also myself! The banter from this is definitely a chef's kiss. I just knew my girl was gonna get her miracle at the end of this book and I am so happy for her – heck her character feels like a real person after finishing this.

A Whole Man😍

This was such a refreshing love story. Tanji was hurting and rebuilding after dealing with a selfish man-child. Tavier was a focused man on a mission and he did not let up. He recognized a real woman and the timing was right for him to love her the way she needed.

One of my favorite parts:
“Tavier operated in unknown territory. Transparency and honesty. Even with his own foreign emotions, he had no issue saying them out loud.”

Also, Antonio deserved to catch some hands but even more than that, he deserved to see Tanji being loved properly😌

Beautiful Story

This was such a great story! I loved how Tavier went after what he wanted and that was Tanji. How he tore down the negative mindset her ex gave her brick by brick was beautiful. Everything about them just showed that their timing was divinely orchestrated. Wonderful story with a sweet ending.

The Wright one!

My goodness, this was an absolutely delightful story. Tavier stole my heart with his crazy sweetness. Tanji deserved to get this second chance with this adorable man, and the bonus friends and family plan. The story was the Wright amount of My Goodness!.

Blessed titles....

Mrs. Moses this is the first book I have had the pleasure to read by you. I am always a sucker for friends to lovers' romance. I always say that those relationships are best because of the foundation built down through the years. Just Tanji's presence and coming back into Tavier's life changed him for the better. He had prayed for his wife and decided to hang up his bachelor ways. He got just that but he had to work for it. Tanji needed a real man in her life because her ex-husband was surely a clown. 🤡 His immature ways and his mental abuse were enough to break any strong woman down. After all, Tanji encountered with him she still was a success and got her happily ever after. I love how she turned her pain into her passion. That passion leads to her business. Therefore, she now holds many blessed titles, mother, boss, wife, and daughter.

This is an informative Christmas novella that demonstrates a lot of healing and growth. I enjoyed it, but Tavier did get on my nerves being so "thirsty." I have to say for him to show his other mature ways by speaking affirmations into Tanji daily gave me new insight into him. I highly suggest this book, I get the feeling that Tanji and Tavier's little family is going to grow more.

God 's Time is Always the W(R)ight Time!💖💖

So sorry Tanji had to suffer through what she did in her first marriage to that triflin' ex of hers, Antonio. It wasn't hard to see that he never really loved her in the first place...just only what she could do for him, and when that didn't work out the way he wanted, he showed his true punk @$$ colors. And then continued to be petty as h*ll! Like really bruh?! You done moved on and got what you wanted, but you just couldn't stop being petty?!😒

But watch out now! Here comes Mr. Tavier Wright! He and Tanji may have been old friends with families that hung out together, but Tavier was looking at Tanji as anything but a friend! And Mr. Wright was exactly what Tanji needed to shut out all that b.s., foul noise, and emotional/psychological trauma her ex husband left behind for her to deal with. Tavier had me crackin' up when he told Tanji to forget old dude and that he would be willing to adopt a dog and give him the Wright name! He was hilarious but he was dead @$$ serious. Tavier was all in with Tanji. I loved that he uplifted her, encouraged her, and showed her that she was worth more than what she or her body could do or give. Tavier was a real one for sure!

Both of their families had me laughing so hard; especially the mamas! Lawdamercy! This story was definitely the epitome of having faith in God to bestow His blessings upon your life and give you the desires of your heart...in His time!💖💖

Pretty good

When I read the first couple of pages, I was relieved because I really felt like I was going to enjoy this story, even with the sensitive subject matter. And overall, I did, for the most part. What unfortunately dinged it for me was a lot of the dialogue (I get wanting to write like people talk but it didn't always hit well with me), the surprise information (i.e. how Tanji ended up with her parents), and the lack of chemistry between Tanji and Tavier. I just didn't feel it. And the super-quick feelings he professed just didn't seem natural or probable to me. People can absolutely fall for someone quickly but for him to go from being a ladies man to the deep stuff he was feeling for Tanji so quickly just didn't read as believable to me.

And I was hoping that Tanji would've let her ex Antonio know about her end result some kind of way at the end. I know it's a little petty but after the hateful things he said, that's what I wished would've happened. But oh well. I still liked that it was a happy ending.

This was actually a cool short story. The love and adoration the MMC, Tavier, showed his friend and love interest, FMC Tanji, was incredible.

Tanji was dealing with some serious life issues and clearly needed some therapy. Therapy for trying to make her present pay for her past but also to show her how to love herself. Remind herself that she's truly worthy of a good life, love, and happiness.

Tavier matured throughout the book. He wasn't childish but he realized that he had to let go of his nonchalant attitude, truly buckle down, and fight for the real life and love he's always wanted.

The banter between those 2 was hilarious! Their parents were crazy and hilarious as well! I laughed a lot.

This is my first time reading a book by Ms. Moses. I look forward to reading more of her catalog.

Happy Reading!

When The Time Is Wright is a heartfelt friends‑to‑lovers romance that beautifully illustrates the power of God’s timing. Renee A. Moses shows how sometimes we must endure difficult seasons to truly appreciate the goodness waiting on the other side. This story highlights how growth, healing, and preparation shape us for the relationships we’re meant to have.

Tanji’s journey was especially moving. Tavier didn’t just support her—he helped her see herself again. Not the broken woman shaped by past pain, but the strong, resilient woman she was always meant to be. Their daily affirmations together were one of my favorite elements of the book. Those scenes felt intimate, intentional, and deeply restorative.

This is a story about love, healing, self‑worth, and divine timing. A tender reminder that the right person will help you rise into your best self.

This book is 97 pages of pure goodness. I’m so glad I read this book and it’s definitely on top of the list of tChristmas books I’ve read this season. Tanji moves back home heartbroken and defeated after a painful divorce. She has plans to focus on her business and heal, so developing feelings and starting a relationship with Tavier is the last thing she expects to happen. My heart broke for Tanji, I couldn’t imagine experiencing such a huge loss without the support of my spouse. Speaking of her ex-spouse, with his deceitful ass. It’s a hot seat in hell just waiting for his dusty ass. Thankfully, Tavier turn out to be the man she needs. Timing is everything and this love story between Tavier and Tanji definitely prove that. Tavier is on his “hoe” vibe, so when he realizes that Tanji is back for good, something clicked and he automatically switched to hunting mode. He went from a hoe to a husband LOL! Ain’t nothing like a man that speak life into you. Whew! When I tell you he is READY! I mean ready. I love the family dynamics in this book. Having a big family is definitely and blessing at a curse. I had big smiles while reading their shenanigans and it was just want Tanji needed to heal. Renee DID NO WRONG in this book. NONE! This story pulled many emotions out of me and in the end gave me hope. I loved this story and I definitely will be reading more from this author .

this book was fun, hilarious, romantic and sexy. it wasn’t as festive as i’d like for a christmas read but that didn’t take away from the story itself

tavier was annoying me at first because he was just going on and on abt tanji’s ass like sir calm tf down. but he turned out to be sweet and attentive and i loved that he provided a shoulder for tanji to cry on

the journal entry tanji’s mom wrote for her was so sweet and affirming. i love that she had such a strong support system around her

on a lighter note, t & t had some of the best kisses i’ve ever read in a book. they were tew sexy

this was a great read. i had fun

Tavier was just smooth with his line but also with a big heart a so much love to give. Tanji truly deserved the second Chance.
Friends to lovers can always be tricky but then again it can be so great, this book shows that. Because of the friendship, they already had a foundation.
Tavier gave up the life of a Bachelor for her. And he truly changed for the better.

Tanjis ex was a piece of Trash who is actually a little boy full of pettiness.  He was so immature, and his mental abuse was just too much.

I liked this book so much, the real life issued that were mentioned.

Check your trigger warnings.

This was an enjoyable Christmas read. I loved the family vibes and the laugh-out-loud moments courtesy of Ms. Octavia and Ms. Rhonda. 😂

It was nice to see Tanji find happiness, considering all that she had been through. Her ex-husband was awful. How dare he send such a heartless Christmas card!! 🤬

Thankfully, Tanji eased into the reconnection with Tanvier. Who didn’t waste any time making his feelings known and ditching his bachelor ways. He saw Tanji’s worth and wanted nothing less than a hopeful future with her. 🥰

The ending reiterated that what is truly meant for you will never pass you by. It’s just a matter of faith and patience. And, specifically, to this story-a Mr. Wright.

In due time...

Tanji returns home after a failed message and what she didn't expect was to have feelings for her childhood friend Tavier. Tavier wanted Tanji and set to work to make her his. Tanji wasn't sure if she could be all that Tavier wanted, but Tavier made her sure she was. This was a great book about a second chance at love and getting what you are deserved. Tanji and Tavier were great together and I loved the family aspect of the book. Tavier was exactly what Tanji needed and helped her realize that she was everything he needed and wanted. Tgis was my first book by this author, but definitely not my last...

Won’t He Do It!!!

Author Renée A Moses this was heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. Tavier was everything Tanji didn’t know she needed. I loved that despite her giving him pay back, he let her know how he was coming behind her. The way he spoke life into her, and rebuilt the parts of her that phuck 🥷 tore down.
That ending was so amazingly beautiful ❤️.
Her ex husband was trash asf, and I really wanted him to get his karma for the way he tormented her during and after their marriage 🙄

Loved this❤️

This was such a great novella. I would like to give the author props for the PSA. I think it’s responsible to give readers a chance to determine if a book will give triggers.

I really enjoyed the friendship journey of two families. It was really uplifting for this time of year and it was just long enough to establish characters and short enough not to be boring.

This was a first read by Renee Moses but it will not be my last.

Perfect title for this story!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

When The Time Is Wright is my first book by Renee Moses and it is amazing. I felt Tanji's pain because ex husband was just plain cruel!!, But he was just a place holder until the real deal came into her life. Tavier was it and he let Tanji know, It's not what he said it's what he did!! This will not be my last book by Renee Moses, I'm hooked! 💕

When the time is Wright

This was a cute Christmas novella. I liked the chemistry and banter between Tavier and Tanji. I love how he affirmed her and got her to love herself again and stop allowing her negative thoughts to over power her mind, body and spirit. Her ex needed his butt whooped for how he treated her over something not within her control, but in the end she got back what she lost in Tavier and found true unconditional love and a happily ever after.

Beautiful Story

This story really touched me. Eventhough I didn't have problems conceiving, I felt for Tanji. That ex of hers was too cruel. I imagined she sent him a Christmas card the next year with her new family ☺ God has plans for us all but in His timing
Great read and great lesson in these words!

For this to be my first Christmas novella, I enjoyed every second of it. I loved Tanji & Tavier dearly & their families. It was painful reading what Tanji had to go through & seeing Tavier's maturity rise throughout was great. Their banter had me laughing, and the spice was there (and the tension too). One of my favorites, honestly.

Tanique and Tavier

I enjoyed this friends to lovers short romance.  Although, it was definitely not a scorcher on the hotness scale.  It also has somewhat triggering moments for those who are sensitive to fertility issues and pregnancy loss.  Overall, I enjoyed this novel, please take note that it is definitely on the tame side.

This was the perfect Christmas read - palette cleanser.
When the time is right, everything eventually falls right into place and that’s just what happened to Tanji and Tavier. This story was cute, had some dab your eyes moments, and had me laughing (from Tavier’s crazy self).
This was my first read from Renée, but will definitely be reading more from her

When the Time Is Wright was such a heartfelt, funny, and beautiful love story. Seeing a man truly love a woman after she has been hurt and disrespected was incredibly touching. The way he pours into her and consistently gives her the affirmations she deserves is just beautiful. It was a wonderful love story—definitely check the trigger warnings, but it’s an absolute must-read.

Tanji and Tavier were childhood friends. When Tanji returns back home due to a divorce from her undeserved ex husband. She runs into Tavier on more than one occasion and Tavier is ready to pour positivity and other things into Tanji.
One of my favorite lines: “After giving him so much push back, he saw through my barrier. Just that fast, he broke that sucker down.”
