Brenna Star wasn’t supposed to live past her eighteenth birthday. When her inevitable heart failure changes her definition of life, she wakes up with a new heart and a second chance. After years of reckless behavior and living like she was dying, Brenna scrambles to navigate a world with an indefinite future.
With his business partner on an extended leave of absence, Lance Romero has a chip on his shoulder and a professional reputation to protect. The corporate grind is the only thing on his mind other than his favorite hobby—women.
When Lance’s dedication to his family brings Brenna unexpectedly into his life, he’s awed by her past. But when his interest in Brenna’s adventurous world turns into something more, he’s forced to decide whether he’s capable of opening his heart...and she's unsure if her own delicate heart is ready.
India Caedmon is a twenty-something hopeless romantic who believes in old-fashioned romance and the power of handwritten letters. When she’s not engulfed in make believe, she is a structural engineer. She enjoys flying planes in the Idaho backcountry, swimming, yoga and paddle boarding with her border collie, Apollo.
India particularly loves conjuring up a variety of ways for Mr. Right to woo her…until that actually happens, she’ll just have to write about it.
I’ve just finished reading book number two of the High Tower series and what can I say? I’ve loved it and I can’t wait to read the next one! This book will catch your attention since the first chapter and, really, I couldn’t stop reading it, I needed to know how the story will continue. Lance and Brenna’s story is totally different from Grayson and Cassidy’s one. I have to say, despite I’ve really liked Lance and Brenna as characters, I still have all my heart on Grayson and Cassidy, I think they are THE COUPLE, yes, in capitals; but Lance and Brenna have something that just melt my heart too. Different stories but the same feeling that they are the perfect match for each other. And their personalities! I love how this author show us through her writing what is the past of the characters, how their lifes have been influenced by it, making them the way they are and how they fight to overcome it just for love. If you’re bored, don’t know what to read and want a good story that get you hooked up this is your book, I promise.
