This is a second-chance romance between a high-ranking Bratva MMC and the woman he feels betrayed him years before. Because characters and plot points from Bystander: A Dark Bratva Romance do appear, I'm not entirely sure it works as a standalone.
For those concerned about safety, I list the multiple problems with this book in the spoiler below:

2 stars, but only because it was well-written with few errors. Though I'm not a "dark" lover, my main problem with it was the characters: the unlikable sister who was too psychotic to be interesting; the doormat heroine who had little self-respect; and, most of all, the supposed "dominant" too easily manipulated by his siblings, whose behavior resembled a school boy's when deprived of his favorite toy. There's nothing remotely "hot" or "sexy" or "alpha" about this weak-willed nonentity who does little throughout this book except pout.
ETA: No, the MFC's "betrayal" doesn't bother me because the people she's "betraying" are -- wait for it -- criminals. But that's me.

I've been waiting ages (or what felt like ages!) for Timofey's story. I loved him so hard since first seeing him in Bystander and after getting that tease about his past and being in love with an undercover cop, I was hooked! I needed his story like yesterday!
So needless to say, getting this book hit me with all the feels of anticipation and hype and I was not ready for it!
Timofey is your typical "burned by love, now I treat all women with contempt and suspicion" Hero. He is set in his ways and determined to be a happy go-lucky bachelor until the end of time. Seeing his brother getting married might hurt and get his inner green demon up and rearing it's ugly head but after having the perfect partner (even if it was all a lie) he isn't willing to risk himself again.
Until his past comes back from the dead! Merry, his sweet little kitten isn't dead like his brother and sister had him believe all these years. She's alive and kicking. Literally because she shows up demanding to speak to his brother, sprouting assassination attempts and getting kidnapped from the front steps of the church!
Merry knew being reunited with Timofey would be intense, not only because her stubborn heart still yearned for him, but because it would take a miracle to convince him to give her another chance. Falling in love with him all those years ago, even when she was undercover and having to lie to him, was hard, but living without the love and affection he gave her was harder. Her life isn't her own and now that she's turned against her mentor, her life is in danger of ending. The only ones powerful enough to help her escape are also the people who most want to see her pay for her past transgressions.
This love story is dark, gritty and in your face mafia suspense. I loved it but knocked a star off because I LOVED Timofey and Merry's relationship in the beginning (through flashbacks) of how they loved and trusted each other. How he introduced her to pet play and how he was always gentle, loving and affectionate with her.
Heroes who are ruthless and 100% alpha to the outside world and total teddy bears with their women are my kryptonite and Merry's recollection of her time with Timofey and how they fell in love was super intriguing to me. I want to see more of that side of Timofey.
We get a hint of what that Timofey was like in the beginning as a gentle recap of their relationship but then the majority of the book is him going all stern, no-mercy, Dom on her and no gentleness in sight. I don't might the rough stuff but I need it to be balanced out with some sweet and tender too. Timofey comes through in the end but it was the very end! I still love him and I think Merry was his perfect match, so I'm happy their happy but I needed a bit more to completely tide me over.
Mila is next and I still think she's a total Girl Boss and admire her resolve to love and protect her family above all else, but jeez! The cat fighting between her and Merry got a bit cringy in the end. I don't see how a HEA can be achieved when Mila is who she is and no one can complete with that amount of blood lust and crazy. #Justsaying #sorrynotsorry
Daniil and Evie are still my favorite couple of this series (so far) followed by Timofey and Merry. 3rd place will be a toss up between Mila and her yummy bodyguard :) and Niamh and her mystery man. Hope they are just as captivating as these couples were!

Meredith would have laughed in your face six months ago if you told her that she would fill fulfilled kneeling at Timofey Lenkov's feet like a good little kitten and enjoy pet play.
Timofey is second in command of the notorious Lenkov Brotherhood and although he's a dangerous mobster he has been nothing but sweet and caring towards her. He had just inserted a anal plug with a cat's tail letting her know that he will not be put off any longer from claiming every part of her when his older brother Daniil storms into the room accusing her of being a spy.
Timofey is enraged and shoves her at Daniil saying he can deal with her treachery as he slams out of the room. He doesn't give Meredith to chance to explain that she may work for MI6, but she would never betray him.
This is book two in the Lenkov Dynasty Series and it just as captivating as Daniil's story! This book is action packed and full of danger and suspense. It is also very erotic! Timofey may be a man to be feared in the Russian mafia, but even as he makes Meredith pay for her betrayal he knows that she does not fear him.
I loved this book! The storyline grabbed my attention from page one and I was unable to put the book down once I began. I love Timofey! You can fill his hurt and anger through the pages and even when he thought Meredith dead he craved her. I love how Meredith gives him a run for his money when she shows her real personality and not the meek woman she played undercover.
This book is very well written and the characters are fully developed and totally relatable. The chemistry between these two is smoldering and only gets hotter as you turn the pages. Sassa Daniels continues to bring highly erotic stories with a hint of danger. Highly recommend!!!

Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with stealing from the mafia (well that says it all)!

When someone is betrays you, it isn’t something that one would forget and that would be Timofey sexy as all get out Bratva and Meredith who messed up a few years ago instead of telling him the truth she allowed him to believe she betrayed him by allowing him to love her and in return she hurt him. But the day she walks back into his life he is shocked and then he sees read because she is so upset and the need to want to make her pay for the pain, she is has caused is so overwhelming. But when he realizes that Daniil and Malia from book one, they have some explaining but also upon finding out that his women is strong she has been through so much and she is still standing after the pain, the hurt and yet she is still standing wanting forgiveness and love. Meredith came baring warnings against Malia, and she risked it all to warn them but this time Timofey isn’t letting her go in fact she is his and he intend on punishing her for everything but through it all will they find each other, will he learn to trust her again and can they finally have happiness?

A riveting read that you’ll thoroughly be captivated by
Meredith made a huge error over two years before and because she had failed to be honest with Timofey but he had been left feeling betrayed. When she comes back into his life, he is determined to make her pay the price of her being traitor.
She is tough and has been through much but whilst Mila can be sadistic and mean and vindictive it is fair to say that her experiences have made her capable of standing up for herself now.
There are a fair number of discipline sessions with appropriate punishments being delivered as and when necessary, Timofey is able to bring a certain light and mood and as the love they felt still exists it is important they are strong together.
Read this wonderful book it will hold you in its pages and you will not be able to put the book down till the last page has been read.

Meredith messed up 2yrs ago. She should have come clean but Timofey would never have wanted her if he know. Timofey was betrayed by the one woman he could trust. But with her walking back into his life, he was not only shocked but he will make her pay. When Timofey finds out that Mila and Daniil knew about Meredith still being alive, he not only is furious but plans to confront them. We find out a lot about what Meredith went through to still be here. The pain she faced but also the hurt she felt. She is tough. Mila may be sadistic but Meredith can hold her own. Meredith put herself out there just to warn them of the threat to Mila. There is some serious punishment that she receives. Even I felt it. But Timofey brings out something in them both. Pain and pleasure being exquisite. And her ex-boss, boy did he deserve what he got. These two still loved each other even though what happened two years ago and you have to love that. Now I want to know what is up with Niko and Mila. You know that is going to be hot.

Timofey and Meredith had history together but 2 years ago Meredith messed up. She loved Timofey and submitted to him totally. But she betrayed him so when she comes back into his life he it shocked. He feels that he will get his revenge by making her pay for her sins. Meredith has a pain and pleasure relationship with Timofey. They both suffered but Meredith more so at Timofey's sister's hands. Loved this story with it's actions and adventures but also the emotional relationship that Timofey and Meredith still have for each other. Wow, Meredith loved Timofey but when she was portrayed as a rat, she had to take the brutal punishment from his brother who is the head of their Bratva Brotherhood and his sister, she had to pretend she was dead. Meredith betrayed her boss when she found out he was obsessed with Timofey sister Mila. Meredith crashed the wedding of Timofey brother. When he saw her he decided that she would pay for lying about her death. Great book, enjoyed the second book in the Lenovo Dynasty Series. Looking forward to reading Niko and Mila story as well as Niamhl story. This book was worth reading and kept me entertained until the last page.

Timofey loved Meredith and was betrayed basically his love made him vulnerable to her betrayal. Now years later they come face to face. He also finds something else out. Good storyline with secrets, betrayal and intensity.

Loved it..
A really good sequel to Bystander...the second brother who was very much in love with "Merry", found out she was lying to him and asked for her removal. Believing she was killed. Two and a half years later he sees her again, this time he will punish her. Can there be forgiveness? A must read.

Excellent book
A true mafia book, it draws you into a world of love, lust and an attraction between two people who are made foe each other. A wonderful story with a lot of twists and turns. I loved it!

This book was fantastic! Timofey and Meredith have so much chemistry. The plot was great, and the action was intense! I'm definitely going back to read book 1, and can't wait for the next book in this series.

Exciting and suspensful
Interesting take on well written subject, the Brava,. I enjoyed the fast pace of the story and the relationship development between the two main characters.

Another fantastic instalment in the series. Deliciously dark and dangerous. Great characters, well written storyline. Would recommend. Cannot wait for the next book

Penance by Sassa Daniels
I guess I can see some penance in this story, but I was a little disappointed in the book as a whole. It picks up after book 1, but it’s kind lackluster to me. I expected real penance, and I was disappointed.

I thought it would have a little more of what is going on with their dad instead of focusing on the second chance romance. Was fun how Timofey figured out that she wasn't the shy submissive he thought she was.

Interesting book
This was a very interesting story that was fun to read and impossible to put down until it was finished. This is well worth the time to read.

This is the second book in the series but it can be read as a standalone. Meredith broke his heart two years ago when she betrayed Timofey. Now she is back in his life and he plans on making her pay. Fast-paced read with loads of dram, suspense and steam. Great characters with lots of twists and turns, sizzling and intense scenes. I really liked it.
