1857. The carnage of the Crimean War is over and the Rifle Brigade returns to peacetime soldiering, but then the word comes from India that the Sepoy regiments of the East India Company have mutinied, and the jewel in the crown of the British Empire is in danger of being lost. The Rifle Brigade embark for India, but there is a long sea voyage ahead of them. In the meantime the British soldiers already in India must hold out against vastly superior numbers. And so the bloodbath begins.
A veteran of many years in the British Army working with the Army’s helicopters. He then joined the Civil Service before taking early retirement and moving to a villa in Spain. He writes his books when he can tear himself away from the view across the orange groves to the Mediterranean. Married with two children. He is slowly learning Spanish.
Having completed and published his seven book action thriller series, he has written two historical fiction trilogies and is working on another. There are also a few standalone books of historical fiction
As light relief he is also helping his daughter in writing a book of bedtime stories for young children, based on the adventures of a small dog who lives in Spain
I read the three books in this series. Did them all in a week. Great reading, lots of history. However I was very upset with the ending. It should be rewritten. I will not give it away.
I have now read every book by Nigel Seed. I would say that Mutiny is by far the best.it is impeccably researched and honestly written. I loved it. The story is quite graphic at times but this is in keeping with the facts.
