How could fate match Matteo with a less than ethical alpha?

Matteo Romano isn’t like the others. He had a happy family growing up, yet Master Nikolai welcomed him into the coven family without question. Time and again, he’s proven his abilities, even if he’s the shortest and smallest vampire in the coven, thanks to his fae mother. While the others are finding their beloveds, he can’t help but hope that he too will be blessed by the fates. But when he scents his beloved and discovers who it is, his biggest question is why did fate have to pair Matteo with a sexy-as-sin alpha that had mesmerizing eyes and a devastating smirk?

Justin Savoie has been many things in his long life: son, blockade runner, smuggler, alpha, and rescuer. The timing couldn’t be any worse when he boards the Beloved Gem and scents his mate. But his wolf won’t allow him to leave without at least a taste of the sexy little vampire that’s all his. And now that he’s found his mate, he finds himself wanting things he didn’t before, to be called mate and father.

This review has taken me some time to write. I’ve started over and again. I absolutely do not want to give any spoilers away because then you’d miss the magic written inside this story. Taylor is one of my favorite authors. I’ve read everything she’s written, and Matteo continues with a whirlwind journey of the Vampires of the Beloved Gem series.

There’s so much to this story that will make you continue to turn each page.

The story is well written and well edited just as I’ve come to expect from Taylor. (Those two qualities are important to me while reading a book.) The plot twists and turns as Justin and Matteos find their way together. I personally believe this book can be read as a standalone, I’m just not sure why you would want to.

So many kudos to Matteo’s Whirlwind. This is a one click buy. If you have any questions, come talk to me. I’ll happily reread this story/series with you. <3

I'm not as happy with this one as I was with the first three. For one, we have several characters acting strangely out of character. Usually Taylor is at least consistent with that. It went offboard to the river in this one though. On the other, there is the annoyance that this book happens (chronologically) after Ambrosius, so that adds another layer of complication to the already confusing and complicated Taylor Rylan extended magical universe. Now, we can't trust the series to read chronologically and not end with enough plot holes to fall through, but also spoil future books in other series. Books, apparently, have to be read by publishing date. Which makes it harder, unless you read as they're published.
Granted, other than feeling odd and spoiling parts of another series, this book wasn't bad. It had a lot more unnecessary drama and was a bit hard to follow because of that. It feels like some events weren't given the attention they deserved because Justin and Matteo were having drama again. It was annoying.
At least we didn't have those pro-life propaganda feel moments in this one. That's something.

Matteo’s Whirlwind is a whirlwind for sure!! A LOT happens for Matteo and Justin in a very short amount of time, especially for Matteo and he does a pretty good job rolling with it all. I got really emotional a few times while enjoying this story. This is one of Taylor’s angstier books. This book is not a standalone as there’s an overarching storyline that crosses over from Ambrosius from the Paranormal Council Enforcers series and Fergus’ Hurricane which must be read before this or there’s a lot that won’t make sense as well. I can’t wait to see how this storyline plays out. Fergus’ Hurricane is also where we’re first introduced to the mysterious Justin and explains why he is initially met with so much distrust and hostility. I love love fated mates stories but there’s really something to be said about stories that show just because you’re fated to be together doesn’t mean everything will just immediately fall into place for you as a couple without work and compromise in your relationship which Matteo and Justin learn but they have surrounded themselves with wonderful pack/coven families who help them through. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

In this instalment of the Vampires of the Beloved Gem series vampire Matteo gets his story told. Working in security on the Beloved Gem he comes in contact with many people but was not expecting to meet his fated mate, Alpha wolf shifter Justin. He was also not expecting to be immediately claimed by him. Thus setting in motion a whirlwind of events that immediately has repercussions on their claiming with the fated pair having to overcome numerous obstacles before settling into their HEA.

This is an enjoyable fated mates, mpreg romance with a some angsty feelings, lots of steamy scenes between the two likeable main characters and plenty of interactions with characters from the previous books set in this universe.

Matteo’s Whirlwind is Book 4 in her Vampires of the Beloved Gem series. Please note that you should read the other books in the series first as characters from them appear and there is also a continuing plot line. This book is the story of Matteo and Justin. Matteo is the third in line on Master Nicolai’s Beloved Gem riverboat. He is a vampire and works security on the boat. Justin is the Alpha of the Deliverance Pack who also have a riverboat. This group of wolf shifters are in the rescue business and finds omegas and others who have been stolen and returns them to their families or packs. Matteo’s coven as well as Justin’s pack are looking for the same paranormals who are taking them and wreaking havoc on both covens and shifters. Justin has an instinct that leads him to board the Beloved Gem, where instead of finding a lead to the paranormals he finds his mate, Matteo. They spend a night together and claim each other but the morning after finds trouble for both of them. The story continues as misunderstandings keep happening that keep them apart and they have to learn to trust each other. I love the vampire/shifter world that Ms. Rylan has created. It is different from others that I have read but keeps me very interested in finding out what will happen next. The created vampires and shifters really add to the stories as they deal with all that is happening in their covens and packs and their personalities are interesting and fun to read about, as are their children and the others around them. I like to read about characters from previous books that are great friends with the main characters and how they help them with their problems. I also enjoy finding out what has happened to them since their own books. The continuing plot line is adding more and more suspense, especially when kidnappings and sightings of those involved near their homes adds to the angst and everyone is trying to figure out who they are and where they can be found. The settings really add to the story from the riverboats to the Coven in Amherst to the mountain where the Createds are building their Paranormal Council. I also like how there are so many different kinds of shifters and vampires involved that are working together. And of course, all the stories have great love scenes and cute babies. With each book Ms. Rylan continues to draw the reader in and builds on the plot line and I can’t wait to see what happens. I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to reading the next one, especially since it is about Master Nicolai.

So very excellent

Not only did I love Matteo and Justin, but I also loved that we learned more about what is going on with the enemies of the new council.

I don’t know if the author was responding to my review of the last Paranormal Council book, or if I’m just thinking along the same lines as where these books were going (either way, I’m rather flattered). But we learned that the created originals were never intended to be more than just powerful firsts - not super-powered titans among the supernatural community. We learned that Something different is going on with Orson, and that he didn’t simply find a loophole in Edison’s power. And finally, we got a clear explanation that the evil supes weren’t granted immortality, but also weren’t all immediately killed off - and the reason why that was the case. Each of these items bugged me in the last book, but they were answered here, and done in a way that felt very natural to the characters and the series.

I’m so excited to learn more about Nicolai‘s beloved, and the fate of the Beloved Gem coven. I’m curious to see how things turn out with the Paranormal Council and the evils that they have to face and defeat.

Whirlwind is pretty accurate in describing Matteo and Justin’s start to mated life!

This is a bit angstier than the usual Taylor book but I think that actually worked well. I wanted something with a bit more edge without being depressing or making me cry and this got that mix right. There was still the trademark sweetness once things finally got sorted out but it was almost a bit of delayed gratification lol. The main reason I gave this a four and not a five was because there were some points where some basic communication would have solved a lot of issues; it doesn’t detract from the story but it a personal pet peeve so I probably felt it more when reading. That being said, people are ridiculous so it’s entirely possible things would have happened like that. I would highly recommend reading the previous books in the series so that you have a better grip of what happening but you could probably get away with not doing so (though you’d be muddling your way through in bits). A good addition to the series.

É uma leitura F(. . .), desculpe pela palavra, eu amei 🖤. . .
Amei! . . Boa Leitura 😘

Great Story!

What a wonderful story! I absolutely love how this story weaves its way between multiple storylines while keeping this story fresh and original. While Matteo and Justin are fated mates they have a journey to their HEA, but its so worth it. This story stood on its own and can be read without reading other books in this series. I found this story extremely enjoyable as I have read all of the books in this universe and enjoyed reading about characters from other books and learn how all of these stories fit together. I highly recommend this story as it can be read as a standalone but bet you will be tempted to go back and read other stories in this amazing universe. This review is an honest and unbiased reflection of my thoughts after reading an advanced readers copy of the book.

Matteo and Justin….Wow! There was more drama in this one and throughout the book than I probably anticipated but I really did enjoy it. Seeing how the two start as a couple, what they overcome throughout the book, how they learn to work together and be happy, to having their precious baby and truly becoming who they should be! I love this series, Vampires of the Beloved Gem and Matteo and Justin definitely made me want to keep reading! I enjoyed how this story was different from the others, how they become mates and how everything flows together to make a happy ending for the couple! I seriously can’t wait for the next book in this series and the crossover! Don’t miss out on your chance but you should definitely start at the beginning if you’re going to read this story! Justin and Matteo’s story made my heart hurt a little in the beginning. To get a full understanding this is not a standalone, you really need to read the other stories in the story arch. Matteo is something different that what I thought we has from reading the series. Justin is a alpha. Everyone believes him to be something different than what he is. The story is aptly named, a whirlwind of things go on in the story. I was hooked as soon as I picked it up, couldn’t put it down! I left me smiling for days on end!! Overall, a fantastic read! The story was really well written and kept me engaged, the pacing flowed smoothly, highly recommend. I’m voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.

Another enduring love story... another piece of the puzzle...
I could not love this book more! Taylor Rylan's Paranormal Universe is large, and her characters are involved in each other's lives - always for the good. Matteo and Justin's romance has significant roadblocks, but we learn that their relationship and their families and packs are important pieces of the mystery unfolding in the last few books. This book is part of a huge series, and to get the full impact of the action, you'll want to start at the beginning... Honey Creek Den, Timber Valley Wolf Pack, Warlocks of Amherst, Vampires of the Beloved Gem... overlapping into Paranormal Enforcers. Trust me, it's worth every minute and every penny to immerse yourself in this world. Bravo!

I absolutely loved this latest book in the Vampires of the Beloved Gem series!!! To say that Matteo's and Justin's mating was a whirlwind is appropriate. They met quite by accident and fell hard and fast. A prior commitment has Justin leaving shortly after they meet and Matteo is unsure why Justin had to leave and is heartbroken. A series of events that follows will test the newly mated couple but they realize that in order for this to work....communication is key with a little bit of groveling thrown in there. I really enjoyed their story....lots of twists and turns and things that I didn't see coming kept me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait for the next book in this series and highly recommend this book to all. Well done!!!

Oh my my my this books had me from the very beginning! I was lost at some parts but that was on me! Matteo is just the sweetest & Justin is so protective and stubborn! The beginning of their mating was rough but they more than made up for it by the end of the book!
My heart went out to Matteo when he was removed from the Gem & I was so mad at Diego for not thinking with his head! But it all worked out in the end & I very much enjoyed reading this book!
Taylor is an amazing person and author, her work speaks for itself with how amazing she is & I can’t wait to read what she had coming next!! ❤️❤️😀😀

Thrilling and fantastic

So our little cast is characters is steadily growing. In this installment, Matteo finds his fated mate is the Alpha wolf shifter that everyone thinks is behind the rash of missing paranormals. In reality, Alpha Justin and his tiny pack have been fighting the ones that have been trafficking the abducted and rescuing all those that they can. It's definitely not smooth sailing for the two but they work hard to overcome their obstacles and eventually find a HEA. I absolutely love the incredibly detailed world building and character development that goes into each and every book. Old familiar faces join new ones and the underlying storyline progresses right along. There are little bumps in the road but each couple ends up finding their place in this world and I'm completely enchanted and addicted too these books! 10/10 and I wholeheartedly recommend this entire series! Just wonderful!

Okay I'll start with the fact that I loved the story as usual but man there was definitely more angst/drama in this one than normal for one of Taylor's books though nothing major. Also was kinda not liking Justin at first lol took a bit to change my opinion, they end up being perfect for each other. This was definitely an excellent addition to the series, also the ongoing plot in this series makes these just slightly cliffhangerie(my own word haha). I actually went back and re-read this one a second time because of the extra drama😅 and so that I could start off not hating Justin!

No spoilers of any kind included.
I absolutely loved Matteo’s Whirlwind, the story pulled me in before I had even finished the first chapter and kept me ensnared right until the very end of the book where I was left wanting the next book in the Vampires Of The Beloved Gem series because it amazing.
So yes I most definitely do recommend Matteo’s Whirlwind to anyone needing a awesome book to climb into.
But a word of advice if you haven’t read the first three book in this series then I highly suggest that you do that way you’ll know who’s who and what’s happening.

I am so loving this series so far.....

The title of this book is perfect as it is a whirlwind what Matteo and Justin go though to get their HEA.

As always i was hooked from the start, Taylor sure knows how to grab your attention and hold it.

At times i wanted to bang their heads together and say 'sit and talk' haha. These two had a lot of growing to do both separately and as a couple, it was both beautiful and amazing to watch them come together.

Can not wait for the next instalment.... Well done on another amazing book Taylor

I tried another of this series after giving ‘Diego’s Heart’ a DNF at 5%. In that book, a main character kept ‘giggling’. That word was overused in just the few pages that I read. It was annoying and lazy writing. I am truly surprised that it is happening again with this book. I am at 4% and the word ‘grin’ is being extremely overused. Every character has a grin or is giving a grin. The word is used 12 times in the first chapter. I can only imagine how many more times that it will be. I’m not sticking around for more hack writing. 💜💜💜💜💜

This is the fourth of this particular series but like the 3rd or 4th related series, they are interconnected and if you want the full picture, you’ll want to figure out the full order but you must read the first three books before this one. This series is a bit darker than the other series, which is an interesting change but not completely out of character. Matteo has a quandary: how can fate pair him with a less ethical alpha? Does he give him a chance?! This series really hooked me!

Taylor knocks is out of the park again with this book. Whirlwind is right, Justin and Matteo go through a lot in this book but it was all worth it. I was so hooked from page 1 and it didn’t stop till I finished it. The story was great and there was love, complications, romance, forgiveness, understanding and misunderstandings it literally had it all. The book made my heart happy! I can’t wait to see what comes next.

the story continues

This was a great story. Watching a vampire and wolf shifter make it work. It wasn’t an easy start for this couple especially with the threat in the background. It was defiantly a whirlwind to their love. Yes there is an insta mate happening, but they still had to fight to make it work. I loved watching them figuring it out with the help of others. The writing was great the smexy was yummy, and it was nice seeing the others. We get master Nic’s turn next….

Whirlwind more like a hurricane

From the beginning you're hooked on the storyline. Justin all the alpha I need. I was so caught up in story I had to put my Kindle down to catch my breath. I enjoyed getting to know Mattel and he and Justin are one of my favorite couples.

I'm also intrigued by Alexander, Benjiman and Garic. There is so much to love about this story. Taylor Rylan I love this collection.

Oh my goodness!!

I'm loving this group of series by this author!! I started with the Honey Creek series and I just can't seem to let this world go!! But I think this one was one of my favorites. Justin was so sexy, overprotective and cautious, but Matteo gave him a run for his money. I loved Matteo!! You just didn't boss him around. Good book!! On to the next book in this series!😍

Good book

I love this series. Matter and Justin had a rocky start to their mating, followed by a lot of changes in their lives. But they stuck together threw it all and ended up in a great place with a beautiful family. I'm early looking forward to the next book in the series as we'll finally learn about the Master's beloved and why they aren't together.

Yummy read

This book was fantastic! Matteo has a fun, sparky sort of personality and he's not afraid to use his strength to put an alpha down if needed.

Justin had no idea that the reason he was drawn to the gem is because his mate is there. He's a strong alpha with a whole pack waiting for him

Love it

At first I wasn't very happy about how everything went down and poor Matteo was treated. But as the story went on nothing went right. But the love between them made everything better. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens with the pack now that things have changed.

This is one series that should be read in order due to the subplot for the series. There is a lot that happens in this book, from how Matteo and Justin mate for the first time to the dangers around every corner. This book had me asking a lot of questions that are still unanswered. I don’t want to give anything away either.
