Thank you to Baker Publishing and Bethany House for sending me a copy to honestly read and review. Ya’ll --- this is SO hard for me to write this review, but I was disappointed in this book.
I LOVED book 1 and 2 SO much, but this one left me with many mixed emotions! If you love rock band romances, you would enjoy this, but I’ll explain all of my likes and dislikes below.
About the book: Cameron gets his story in Love and the Dream Come True. The story is 4 years after he got the biggest break in his life in his music career. But today….poor Cameron’s career is not doing so well and is suffering to put it lightly. He goes home for his sister’s wedding and runs into single mom Lexie Walters. Lexie has a 13 year old daughter, Morgan and has had a major crush on Cameron ever since she was a teenager. Even into her adult life, she is crushing still. The 2 run into each other at the wedding and the story takes off from there.
What I liked: - The home renovation aspects - The family vibes - All the details surrounding Lexie’s daughter Morgan and the situation with Lexie’s sister - Faith aspects, primarily God’s hand in Lexie’s daughter’s life and the situation with the sister (but also felt like we could have had more faith content like the other books) - The ending and the fact we end around Christmas time, giving some Christmas vibes - Snippets of Dillion and January / Bryson and Darcy seeing them many years later - Cameron’s father-figure character to Morgan, was good to see and he did have some decent character growth in some ways. - Morgan had a great personality- very sassy! loved her as her daughter
What I disliked: - I didn’t love the idolization/obsession/childhood crush that Lexie had with Cameron, especially for so long and where she lost sight of some important things – see below on the second point. - I felt like Morgan was more mature than Lexie, for example, she can’t get her / pick her up from school on time, and once forgot where she was supposed to be entirely. As a parent, that was a bit frustrating. - I am not someone who loves rock band stories, so I just think I am the wrong audience here because I didn’t care bout Cameron’s music career - Fairly rushed romance in my opinion
I think if I loved Cameron and Lexie, this would have been a different experience for me, but I just didn’t connect with the characters as much as I hoped to. I am glad he finally got his story though and I highly recommend book 1 and 2 in this series – they are some of my favorite books of all time.
Characters: Cameron and Lexie were both sympathtic characters. I enjoyed seeing Cameron finally get a little happiness. Poor guy was in the other two books of this series, and things didn't exactly go his way there. Lexie was such a sacrificial, loving person. Especially toward her daughter and Cameron.
Language: Clean.
Moral/theme: This novel featured themes of music, family, and forgiveness. Both Cameron and Lexie were believers.
Plot: Plenty of drama, romance, and character growth kept this plot moving right along.
Romance: Clean. Just kissing. I do wish Cameron and Lexie had taken their relationship a little more seriously.
Writing: Tammy L. Gray's clear, deep writing worked perfectly for this book.
Overall: Love and the Dream Come True was an entertaining read that I'd recommend to those who enjoy Christian fiction and contemporary romance.
Cameron finally got his story but he had to work for his HEA.
Coming home for his sister's wedding unearths things he's not ready to face, especially with what's going on with his music and the songs he needs to choose for the new album. Then he meets Lexie, his sister's childhood friend, and her daughter, and when they turn out to be neighbors in the same street, they quickly become involved in each other's lives.
It's a story of redemption, as we knew it had to be, since Cam has to grow and come to peace with himself and those he feels wronged him.
I enjoyed seeing the characters from the previous books and how they played in this story.
Definitely read the other books before you read this one. Great series!
I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
I've need this story since book one! My heart just ached for Cameron. He just could NOT catch a break. First with January, the new gal on the scene, and then with Darcy, who he thought he had a future with.
When we're introduced to Lexie, I wonder how she's going to break through the wall Cam has around his heart. I have to admit, I wasn't a fan of her 13 year old daughter, Morgan, initially. In fact, I had very little patience with how she treated Lexie. As I read more and got to know what was going on in their lives, I began to understand their relationship more and why Morgan talked to her the way she did. I know, I'm being cryptic, but I want you to give her a chance once you start reading the story. In fact, some of my favorite scenes ended up including her.
And Cameron. His brokenness that he doesn't seem to see or understand was incredibly palpable. His anger towards so many and not wanting to be back in Midlothian... I felt it too, for him! The emotional scenes with Bryson, Darcy, and Mason had my heart racing! They were very powerful moments and watching him grow, seeing scales fall from his eyes (and his heart) just filled me up so much. Watching him heal and be restored was wonderful.
One of the things I liked most about this story was Lexie and her perpetual cheerfulness. Usually that would be an immediate turn-off for me, but she was so well written that it endeared her to me! We get to understand what's taken place over the course of her life to make her this way and it's bittersweet. The storyline between her and Cam was raw and beautiful. I kept wanting to turn the page to read as their relationship grew deeper and deeper.
I appreciated Cam's faith journey as well. Watching as he begins to unravel what he's pushed aside and how it's affected his entire life. What a story of seeing someone in a fog see clearly again!
I'm completely sad the story is over and I want Mason's story now!! I didn't know I wanted it until we got to know him better in this story. I can't tell you how sad I am that there aren't 4 books in the series with the last one ending on him.
*I received this book for review. This is my personal opinion.
4⭐To be honest, at the beginning of this book, I was not too fond of the main characters, the reason is that both Cameron and Lexie are broken people, but neither of them seems willing to admit it.
Lexie is the single mom who has had a crush on Cameron for years- aka obsessed-she is the super optimist, determined to live each day to its fullest, but always late, and struggles with her relationship with her daughter, Morgan AKA all snark and sass.- adds a fun twist to this romance. Cameron is a struggling singer who is not doing well and has decided to come home for his sister’s wedding. He is running from the mistakes of the past.
I enjoyed the conflicts and the storyline and how the characters overcame their struggles. . Complex romance with a lot of twists and turns. What I loved most about the story is Lexie's total acceptance of Cam. His mistakes, Hurts, his self-adsorption, and finding his music again.
Sometimes I felt like the romance between Cameron and Lexie was a bit rushed. The book plays with a spectrum of emotions: sadness, betrayal, utter despair, anger, bitterness, jealousy, hope, forgiveness, mercy, grace, and joy. A well-written faith-based- Contemporary Christian Romance, Sweet-Clean-not cursing-just few kisses. All in all, I am glad I read this book, It’s been a while since a book literally brought tears to my eyes and this one did just that. I became immersed in the character’s heartaches, hurts, and redemptions. I highly recommend it. While the story can stand alone, I would probably recommend reading the other 2 in the series -to get more of Cameron's back story.
learnt how following God's plan is always important to keep from messes and also how God's timing is the best timing haha!
uhh had a not so fun fever dream about this so kinda made me less willing to finish... but was interesting seeing a parent's pov of parenting a teen lol. didnt rlly like Cam the entire series and that opinion remained the same... in all honestly didnt like the main relationship... the idea of her idolising her childhood crush basically and Cam just digging into it... and how they just kept going on and off again and again... Cam clearly hopped wayy too soon from feelings for Dar to Lex... also didnt like how his sister bad-mouthed him to her... not cool... loved their dad and the snippets of Dil+Jan, Dar+Bry tho<33 Morgan was sweet and i really felt for her, thought Cam's affection for her was sweet and their relationship was my fav in this book acc...
Love and the Dream Come True is a fabulous grand finale to the State of Grace series! 5 stars!
Gray brings this Prodigal story of Black Carousel band member Cameron Lee's return to his hometown of Midlothian, Texas to the forefront in Love and the Dream Come True. Unlike the biblical story however, Cameron has a lot of healing yet to do as the only reason he's come home is for his sister's wedding. There he meets a smart and sarcastic teen, Morgan and her mom, Lexie Walters. Lexie's had a crush on Cam for years and feels like her dream may have finally come true, that's how it starts out anyway. I love how this story explores the subject of hopes and dreams and how God's dreams for us can be so much better than what we ever dream for ourselves.
As the story unfolds, I felt like I experienced every emotion known to man, happiness and sadness, heartbreak and joy, unworthiness to worthy, betrayal to trust and back again, to name a few. Just when I thought I knew who was right and who was wrong, Gray flips the story on its head and gives me a new perspective. That takes some amazing writing, and Gray shows her exceptional talent and skill and pulls it off brilliantly.
I loved seeing all the other characters from the first two books, Darcy and Bryson who play a part in Cameron's healing, along with the wisdom of ex best friend Mason.
I've lost count of the number of times I've smiled and shaken my head as a reviewer says something to the effect of, "This story crushed me, turned me inside out and upside down, but I loved it, and I'm sure you'll will too!" Yet here I am understanding those feelings and saying the very same thing myself, "This story crushed me, turned me inside out and upside down, but I loved it and I'm sure you'll love it too!"
Gray has brought Love and the Dream Come True and the State of Grace series to an epic conclusion! It's now one of my favorite series ever and I applaud Tammy L. Gray for her outstanding writing and insight into human nature. I am a reader who highly values the art Tammy L. Gray creates and am looking forward to her future work. I appreciate Bethany House Publishers making a copy of Love and The Dream Come True available for review. All thoughts and opinions are my very own.
I have loved every single book in the State of Grace series. And although it looks like this series is complete, I truly hope that the author will someday write a couple more stories to add to this amazing collection. It would be wonderful to see a book or novella for Mason and one for Zoe, as well.
The fun thing about Love and the Dream Come True is the fact that Cameron has starred in all three novels, never getting the girl. And in Love and the Silver Lining, he is a particularly rough and painful part of the plot. He became one of those characters that I felt for, yet grew to not like, due to some of his actions. However, in this, Cameron’s story, I couldn’t help but love him and want the best for him. He grew so much emotionally and spiritually, after starting the book at rock bottom.
Lexie was such a fun and sweet character, yet she had a lot of trauma in her past and worries that she tried to push aside being the optimist that she was. It was so sweet to see her getting a chance at love with the man she had crushed on since they were both teens.
Lexie’s daughter, Morgan, was very well written. She struggled with her emotions and reacting to events dramatically, yet she was a smart girl. It was hard to watch some of her struggles, yet she grew a lot, as well.
I loved this story! This entire series is now one of my very favorites. These are books that I plan to reread many times.
Love and the Dream Come True is the third and final State of Grace book. It was a surprising read since I really didn't like the male lead when I started this book. He annoyed me with his actions in the previous book(s) and I didn't have high expectations for enjoying this one...BUT, I ended up loving it. His character went through such a wonderful transformation and I loved how forgiveness played such a powerful role in this story.
The romance was cute. I thought it was sweet that he was her childhood crush and that she followed his music career. It did get a little steamy at times, but nothing too much for me.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book. It was easy to read and a book that I kept wanting to get back to reading.

Up until the final chapter or two, this was a three-star read for me, but it all came together in a marvelous way at the end there, and I really connected with it finally.
Honestly, the way Tammy Gray pulled all those pieces that I didn't always like together really shows what a brilliant writer she is. The deep-rooted faith she plants into her books doesn't always push through the top of the soil quickly, but when it does, it's strong and supportive and so very healthy. Well done, Ms. Gray. What you did here is so important. It teaches some serious truths without you realizing it's happening until WHAM! You're on your face before God and yielding things you didn't know you'd taken back.
A soothing hug for the broken and a cattle prod at the same time.
Tammy Gray has a way of digging into the subtle dysfunction we flawed humans bring to our romantic relationships these days. Here it’s Lexie’s crush, sustained for more than a decade by her imagination. And Cameron’s relentless pursuit of perfection. Cameron had a loonnnggg way to go (for me) from books one and two in order to be a hero I’d root for. He got there, eventually. Smooth writing, real-to-life characters. Recommended contemporary Christian romance.
So I like how this author goes deep into the psyche of her characters and really unpacks what's going on below the surface; her characters' growth is meaty, and to another author, inspiring. I really liked the dynamics of the friend group, how their relationships with each other affected the other relationships, and just the whole tangle of it all. I couldn't stop reading because I was invested in the whole group. I know the author technically knows her characters better than anyone else, but not everything lined up for me. I know it's just their own perspectives, but characters would say something about a choice they made or something someone else did, and it would strike me as odd because it didn't match up with what I experienced really happened. If that makes sense. Like Mason's accusation that Cam would have just taken and taken the fame and glory regardless, did not match up with the Cam I really knew in the first book when Bryson tried to get him to join the band; but that was entirely told from January's POV. Stuff like that occured fairly regularly as I read. Lexie was hard to like at first in this book. She was introduced as a bit of a dolt which ultimately we come to learn is not fair to her, and I wonder why we were given that impression. It made me not root for her off the bat, and I want to be able to root for MCs from the start. These books are pretty raw (not graphic or gritty though) and I like that. There was a definite presence of spiritual aspects but also not as much as there could have been; it was like the Come to Jesus moments were isolated events and not part of the everyday of the character's journeys and therefore didn't have the power they could have had in their growth. I'm really glad I read these books, I was intrigued and inspired by them, but I was also mildly dissatisfied with how things played out.
I’m swooning over the beautiful story, Love and the Dream Come True, book 3 in the State of Grace series. I’ve enjoyed all three of these books, tremendously, and honestly can’t pick a favorite. They each have such warmth, emotion, and importance.
This story has incredible characters. Lexie is a bubbly, competent single mom facing many uncertainties. Cameron (swoon) is a struggling musician dealing with anxiety, battling creative blocks, and chasing perfectionism, yet carries a buried, promising faith. And Morgan, who might be the most charming of the three in a weird, quirky way, is Lexie’s complicated, sarcastic, and endearing sassy tween daughter. I enjoyed her storyline and how she dealt with her internal struggles. Even the secondary characters carry surprising depth and add complexity to the story.
I usually connect the strongest with a book’s female lead, but in this case my heart was pierced especially deep by Cameron. His wounds are weighty and his growth throughout the story is emotional and authentic. I enjoyed his development and ached for his healing.
And I adored the setting. I love how familiar Nanni’s house became, especially the light-strung backyard with Morgan’s getaway treehouse. I feel as if I’ve been there, and I didn’t want to leave.
I’m a bit sad this is the end of the series. I’ve grown to love these characters.

A 2022 Favorite! #LoveandtheDreamComeTrue #TammyLGray
Love and the Dream Come True is the third and final book of an outstanding series and it once again proves this author's ability to captivate her audience. Cameron Lee has been in all three books, and he now gets his chance to shine. He's back in Texas and he's struggling, but oh, how I loved this character! So does Lexie Walters, who's had a crush on him for a long time. Is this finally her chance to catch his attention?
This is a story with flawed characters, realistic issues, and a tantalizing romance, but Tammy L. Gray also adds a thought-provoking message of faith. Haven't we all longed for love, kindness, and forgiveness? Aren't we all in varying states of grace? You may be tempted to set this book aside if you're looking for flawless people and perfect situations, but please don't ... Love and the Dream Come True definitely deserves your time and attention!
I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review.
Love and the outcome were almost like the story of the prodigal son.
Cameron was a character I loved when I met him in book one of the series. But then ambition and disappointments took him on a detour away from family and friends on a path to find himself and his path in life again.
Lexi was vibrant and positive but hiding her fears and troubles behind that glass half full outlook.
I enjoyed seeing how the two, through Lexi’s daughter, Morgan, connected and grew through their friendship and growing relationship.
This final book in the series was a beautiful story about reconciliation of relationships and second chances.
Lovely conclusion to the series! The State of Grace Series features broken people trying to make their way. Sometimes fighting or denying God's presence initially.
Both main characters are beautifully described. Musician Cameron has "lost" his musical ability and desire. Optimist Lexie finds joy in each day, but worries her world will come crashing down.
My favorite, however, was 13 year old Morgan. No filter and full of teenage awkwardness. Fabulous and integral part of the novel.
Most of all I am delighted with the author's note at the end leaving the door open to write more novels. This reader votes a resounding "YES!". Please keep writing as your novels feature flawed characters and engaging story lines that draw readers closer to Christ.
My gratitude to publisher Bethany House for a complimentary copy of the novel. I was not required to post a review and all opinions expressed are my own.
I love this series and I am sad to see it ending. I love Tammy’s writing and I am still *hoping* that she changes her mind and does that prequel involving Dylan.
Thank you for the ARC from NetGalley! This book definitely surprised me as I wasn’t a huge fan of Cam from the previous books. Initially, I thought he was weak and selfish. This book definitely changed my mind about him and I really loved seeing him grow as a person and enjoyed seeing his relationship development in this story. It’s also nice to see the characters from the previous books make appearances in this one. I only give it 4/5 stars because it isn’t as Christ-focused as some of Tammy’s other books.
P.S. Please consider making a prequel w/ Dylan’s backstory
I loved this story in the series the best. The story of Cameron and Lexie. Cameron life is a mess. He can't play his music and trying to get over his feelings for his best friend. In come Lexie who has a massive crush on Cameron but is to busy taking care of her niece. The 2 meet and fall in love but can Cameron stay the course of healing and finally caring for Lexie and not run away. This story is amazing. The story of Cameron mental health is what made the book. I love how the author wrote this wonderful story of health and healing and especially love. I highly recommend it! After reading this book I know remember why Tammy L Gray is such an amazing author!!
It has been awhile since I have read a book that really touched me. That gave me all the feels like Love and the Dream Come True by Tammy L. Gray. Actually all three books in this series have been so good and I would encourage any reader to read them in order to get the most out of this story.
We met Cameron in Love and the Little White Lie and I have felt for him since then. I have really been looking forward to his story. Cameron's distress at coming home and facing his past is clearly palpable. I feel his pain alongside him. Lexie is in pain in a different way. . .and she chooses not to face it. Instead, she buries it and focuses on the positive in everything without wanting to see or feel anything negative. While that can have its merits, it can also have downfalls. In this case, Lexie's teenage daughter Morgan is afraid to share the hard stuff with her mom for fear that she can't take it. I like how this book comes full circle in the series with characters that Cameron had walked away from earlier in the series. In this book, we reconnect with Darcy, January, Bryson, Mason and more.
Gray writes in such a way that I feel like I am standing with the characters, feeling their emotions along with them. I could relate to many of the character's emotions in this book as someone who has had her fair share of should'ves in life. One of my favorite lines comes from Cameron talking to Morgan--"If I've learned anything, Morgan, it's that life is made up of a whole bunch of should'ves. But I've yet to find a time machine to change any one of them. Or a crystal ball to prevent more in the future." Boy, if that isn't the truth. As you can tell, without revealing too much, Cameron learns some things in this book and he also grows up. Actually, we see some maturing in several characters. I like how faith, or lack of faith, is woven through the book with the characters and how it feels like a real part of the story. It definitely isn't a fluffy add on. Redemption is real here.
I also didn't like Mason so well at the start of Love and the Dream Come True, remembering him from past books. As this book begins, he has a huge chip on his shoulder, but as the book went on, he grew on me and I felt for him too. Now I wish I could see another book featuring Mason and his story. This is one of the best books that I have read this year. And how about this cover? Wow. I loved the whole package of Love and the Dream Come True.
I received a copy of this book from the author through the publisher. All opinions within this review are my own.
O M GAWWWSSHHH!!! 5 stars!! Everything I wanted it to be. Teared up multiple times. Say what?! I was skeptical going into this since I heard mixed things and books 1 & 2 didn't quite blow me away, and Cam had me wanting to put the whoopin' on him, BUT I devoured this and fell head over heels (maybe I'm crazy) 😜. Cam's redemption arc was SWEEETT! I was able to relate to Lexie's aversion to diving into the hard stuff in life and turning off the unicorn, iykyk🦄. The sacrifices she made were so strong. I also really loved the interior design element. What really blew me away, tho, was how I related to Cam pretty much exactly. And he's a dude; like, WHAT?! The panic attacks he had and all the stuff he had to overcome was absolutely heartbreaking and then, when he went to his knees before God... 😭😭😭. I saw myself in his desire to want everything to happen in a certain way and a certain time, tired of waiting; but he learned something I had to learn the hard way, too. God doesn't waste time or pain. He is buiding your character and testimony one brick at a time, so put aside the pity party and your uppity expectations, baby and LET GO AND LET GOD! I think that's what had me sold me out so hard in this: the relatability and raw emotion. I saw myself in Cam and Lexie's story so much. There's always purpose in the pain. Life isn't always perfect. Total surrender to the King is what truly brings wholeness. The faith content rocked me to my core. OK, rant is over. Here are the Bible verses that came to mind. ✌ ❤And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience: and patience; experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:3-5. ❤My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations, Knowing this, that your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:2-4.
The conclusion of a beautiful series by Tammy L Gray. This is Cameron's story. To begin with, I found this story a bit hard to get into. It's been awhile since I read the others (Yes, I probably should have gone and read them first, but frankly, who has the time for that?! ;) ). Cameron's been bitter ever since his best friend Darcy went and got married to Bryson. He'd always thought he would marry her. Forgiveness is not on his agenda. Then he meets "little Lexie". Lexie's had a crush on this brooding, talented musician for as long as she can remember. It literally is her "dream come true" when Cameron enters her life. Their relationship is interesting, to say the least. Both have lots of baggage. I found it intriguing to watch this all play out. Once again, Tammy Gray has given us a story full of heart and feeling. If you are looking for an inspirational, sweet romance, then you won't want to miss it. Love and the Dream Come True by Tammy L. Gray delivers up Cameron Lee’s long-awaited love story (since book one in this series). I adored the romance between Cam and Lexie. Their relationship sizzles, but the tension does not obscure the story. In one another, they each find a partner that challenges and encourages personal growth. A satisfying love story that I could easily reread right now.
Cam’s exploration of the how’s and why’s of his life made him the shining character in Love and the Silver Lining. His deep emotions gave authenticity and depth to the plot without it feeling heavy or slow. Opposite to him, I cringed at some of Lexie’s mindsets and ideas. Though her character development takes longer to arrive, I like how things wrapped up.
Love and the Dream Come True lands as book three Tammy L. Gray’s State of Grace series. The narrative provides background information, but this novel has major carry over from book two, Love and the Silver Lining. While reading Love and the Dream Come True, I felt like I needed to reread book two in order to really grasp everything. As such, I recommend reading the entire series in order. All the books earned either four or five stars for me and I recommend them to fans of inspirational contemporary romance.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I was provided a copy of this book by the author or publisher. All opinions in this review are my own.
Thanks to Bethany House for the free book. Finally, we get Cameron's story and it's so hard-earned. I have loved his character from book one and two, and I was just hoping he would get the redemption story that he so needed, and Gray delivered here. I loved seeing him flourish in this book, while also being human and making so many mistakes along the way. The other main character, Lexie, was also so real. Her life filled with fear and control is going to be relatable to so many readers, including myself. I think the way these characters interacted and complemented each other's strengths and weaknesses had me so engrossed in their story from the beginning. I also adored Morgan. I feel like books with single parents can sometimes miss the mark when it comes to kids, and Morgan felt so real. Her comebacks and awareness and naiveté worked so well together to create this girl who is on the cusp of adolescence. These three characters along with glimpses of past book characters made this story one that is special and a perfect way to end this trilogy.
Love and the Dream Come True is the third, and sadly, final story in the State of Grace series by Tammy Gray. While this could be read as a standalone, if you read books one and two, Love and a Little White Lie and Love and the Silver Lining first, you will really get to know Cameron and see him grow and mature.
I have been looking forward to his story since I finished book one, where he has a prominent role. Also, Cameron was Lexie’s teenage crush, which was a fun addition to this story! Lexie was perfect for Cameron with her positive outlook on life- which Cameron desperately needed. I also loved her daughter Morgan and her relationship with both Lexie and Cameron. I was completely happy how relationships that had been struggling were mended.
After reading Cameron and Lexie’s story, I really wanted Mason’s story! I was sad to see that this series is over though. I will definitely be looking up Ms. Gray’s backlist!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own. The faith thread is light. 4.5 stars.
With wonderful characters and setting, this story was hard to put down, yet I didn't want it to end! Redemption stories make my heart so happy, and Cam's is a memorable one. I adore Lexie's optimism and the way this book ties up the entire series with a heartwarming epilogue. The kisses in this story were swoony and knee-weakening. First-person point of view is not my usual go-to, but it's so well done here that I honestly got goosebumps and a chill while reading the character have the same reaction. I love this author's heart and highly recommend the State of Grace series.
I purchased this book. The opinions expressed are my own.
I went into this one hesitantly after not enjoying book 2 and knowing it continued Cameron's story. But I wanted to give it a shot because book 1 was such a great book. I enjoyed this one. I listened to the audiobook and liked both narrators. I think the author did a good job of redeeming Cameron for me. I liked him better in this one and felt like he grew up a lot. I particularly liked the mother/daughter relationship though. I spent a good bit of time with my heart in my throat and tears in my eyes.
I was at the edge of my seat reading this final installment of the State of Grace series. Readers meet, bubbly Lexie, who stays focused on the positive things in life. I liked Lexie’s daughter Morgan, who’s 13 years old going on forty. She does her part to keep things on track, as Lexie plays her favorite music by Cameron Lee’s. This mother, daughter relationship reminds me of Lorelei and Rory’s relationship in the Gilmore Girls, TV series.
I like the way this author pulls readers into the heart of the matter and lets you experience their emotions, giving us an inside look at their joy, love, grief and deep pain, pulling at your heart strings and never letting them go.
This book can be read by itself, as the author catches readers up on the other two books, in this series. But to really understand the deep friendship with the three friends, I recommend reading all three. I enjoyed this book and how the author described the heart of the music that flows through Cameron Lee. I loved getting a peek into how he creates his music and a look at the man through Lexie and Morgan’s eyes.
These three friends are faced with an unavoidable untangling that threatens each of them in one way or another. I enjoyed the natural spiritual thread as this untangling occurs and a few of them struggle with their faith, with God, and forgiveness with themselves and others.
I loved this series and this new to me author. These books make for a wonderful book club discussion and a great thought-provoking read. I highly recommend.

I just binge-read this whole series in less than a week. I could not put them down! I was so excited to read Love and the Dream Come True by Tammy L. Grace. Now it's Cameron Lee's story. He comes home for his sister's wedding with writer's block and feelings of failure after years as a successful musician. And with a lot of lingering anger at his former group of friends especially Darcy, Bryson, and Mason.
Single Mom Lexie Walters has always had a crush on Cameron, and listening to his music over the years has helped her get over some tough times. I love the quotes that she often recalls from her mother. " She once said the greatest gift i could give her is to live out my life with optimism and faith, always looking forward, ever behind me, and loving with all my heart. I turn thirty soon, and I pray I've made her proud by doing just that."
“The only person you can control, Lexie, is you. Don’t spend your life as a grumbling spectator in someone else’s story.”
I just love her spunky daughter Morgan, and her grumpy cousin Mason.
"It's funny how God brings blessings at the most unexpected moments."
A wonderful story of forgiveness, kindness, family, and facing big issues, laced with love and humor. I highly recommend Love and the Dream Come True.
Thank you to the author for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.
I just finished listening on Audible and couldn't wait to share how much I loved this story. It's deep. It's sophisticated. It's utterly charming and full of warmth. All the main characters come to life, and they all grow in realistic ways. The people we meet in Chapter One are very different from the people who wrap up the story in a perfect epilogue.
Cameron as the hero is fascinating. He plays major roles in Books 1 and 2, where his flaws are on clear display. His journey to maturity is heartfelt to say the least. And Lacey . . . I loved her optimism. I don't often choke up while reading / listening, but this story delivered several gut punches in the best possible way.
There's a perfect set-up for another book . . . Mason needs his own story!
Wonderful series from start to finish. Highly recommended!
