Are you feeling overwhelmed? Overcoming when you feel overwhelmed, is the book for you.
I started feeling overwhelmed with all the things that are going on in my life right now. I started reading this book and I could tell that there is such an anointing on Pastor Jentezen Franklin as he was writing this book. What spoke to me was Look within, Look to Jesus, Look ahead, Look out and Look up. Get up, get out and get free.
This book as helped me and I encourage you to read this book. You will not be disappointed.
This is my first book from this author. There is fundamentally nothing wrong with the book from many standpoints as it relates to Christian thought, interpretation and prophecy. Overall, it just did not resonate with me like I thought it would but maybe it is the season I am in versus what he was declaring in his book. Certainly, I concur that the end times could be right around the corner. No doubt about that. I did like his 5 steps garnered from Matthew 24 as you think about approaching the end times. I especially loved the story about his mother after losing her husband who was only 56 years old, she moves closer to her son and begins a ministry for seniors at the Free Chapel church. Talk about overcoming grief and allowing God to use her dreams to expand the kingdom of Christ.
In Overcoming When You Feel Overwhelmed, Jentezen Franklin explored different steps we can use when we feel like giving up and how we can be an overcomer. He divided the book up into three sections. The first one discussed how we are destined to overcome and how we are a part of biblical prophecy. The second section was about 5 steps for being an overcomer. Some of these included, “look within, look to Him, look out, and much more. The third part is about the four characteristics: fear, depressing, discouragement, and lust of the end time spirit that is present. He ends it with discussing how new life can began and we can gain freedom.
One of my favorite chapters went over the topic of depression. He looked at the life of David and how he was anointed king by Samuel. King Saul tried to kill him. He explained how he was anointed and weak at the same time. He looked at how the devil doesn’t want us believing that we are in fact anointed. I also liked how he looked at Dr. Daniel Amen and how he came up with the acronym ANT (Automatic Negative Thoughts). He compared our thinking to like ants and how our negative thoughts infest our brains and how they destroy our thought life. He shared a personal story about how he had to face his board members and how he thought he was going to get fired. They didn’t fire him but instead wanted to bless him with a new van for his family. He was afraid of the worst and it turned out to be something else entirely. He stated how he learned how he needed to focus on the positive and not let ANTS infest our minds with negative thoughts. He also shared a secret about a narrow mind and how they are always accompanied with a big mouth. I thought this was a very powerful statement.
I would recommend this life changing book to anyone who is ready to become an overcomer and they are feeling overwhelmed. I immensely liked how he looked at prophecy and how instead we need to be more concerned with who we are when He returns. One of my favorite sections was the one on the four characteristics of the evil spirit, Jezebel. I appreciated how he discussed each of the four ways the devil is trying to control us and to keep us overwhelmed in our problems. This book will assist readers in overcoming whatever challenges that they are facing.
"I received this book free from the publisher, Bethany House/ Chosen for my honest review.”
Pastor Jentezen Franklin’s book, Overcoming When You Feel Overwhelmed: 5 Steps to Surviving The Chaos of Life, is designed to “help overcome…in overwhelming times”.
In Part One, Pastor Franklin shows the reader that we are “part of biblical prophecy…and that there is greater purpose…as we journey through life…in play”. Pastor Franklin introduces the reader to the 5 Steps to Overcoming through Overwhelming Times which are “steps that will help us face and rise above life’s turmoil and troubles”. Part Two looks more closely at the 5 steps individually and how “each step will not only help you overcome the chaos of the everyday but will help us understand the mystery of the end times and encourage others to do the same.” Part Three dives into the four characteristics of the end-time spirit that is attacking the Body of Christ today. Pastor Franklin’s book will help you “approach the last days [not through] chaotic living, fear or ignorance but with knowledge and bursting with power because of Jesus Christ, who has already won!”
I believe Pastor Franklin’s words, “Freedom awaits”. Whether you are a seasoned Christ-follower, new in Christ, or an unbeliever who is searching for something better than their current situation, Overcoming When You Feel Overwhelmed will help you “get up, get out, and get free from addiction, anxiety, despair or whatever obstacles are overwhelming you in this moment. I believed that I had depression (not clinical or chemical imbalance) and it wasn’t until the Lord led me to Pastor Franklin’s book. My reading of an early copy of the book was a divine appointment setup by God to have Pastor Jentezen Franklin shepherd me as I walk out my relationship with Christ. I no longer suffer from depression and my attitude about myself has changed and I no longer let the devil tell me who he says I am, I have kicked me out of my life, my marriage, my family and now I see myself the way God sees me as His child, beautiful, fearfully and wonderfully made (see Psalm 139:14).
Pastor Franklin’s book is a much needed message for the Body of Christ and those believers who have allowed fear into their lives and have let it control them to the point that they have given in or have became slaves to it.
YOU ARE THE ONE! THIS IS THE PLACE! NOW IS THE TIME!
Are you feeling overwhelmed? How about chaos in your life? Do you want to learn how to overcome your overwhelmed and chaotic life? Yes! That’s great. This book is for you. Jentezen Franklin hasn’t just exposed a problem which is of epidemic proportions, he has provided steps to help us to be overcomers. That is what we were created to be and we need to be if we are going to survive or better yet, thrive this topsy turvy, upside down world. In the last couple years there has been stuff happening at an unprecedented level and sadly it doesn’t appear to be leveling off so we either take the fight or the flight approach. It’s up to each person to make that decision and when doing so, having the right tools in our belt is the key to being successful and living a more peaceful, joyful, happy and fulfilled life which is what God’s wants for us. That is where Jentezen’s book comes in. He offers real life personal, historical and Biblical examples which are relatable, enlightening and encouraging because the common theme is overcoming, while providing steps we can take to be overcomers ourselves. For such a time as this, God has inspired this book and Jentezen has written it with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. You have to see for yourself how great this book is. For now, I will share a few take aways to wet your appetite:
Faith says , No Matter what I feel, God is here. He is real. He is alive. And I won’t let my feelings stop me from believing in and praising Him.”
1. You are the one 2. This is the place 3. Now is the time
W.A.T.C.H W-your Words A-your Attitude T-your Temptations C-your Character H-your Household!
I have read many books and there are so many gifted and talented brothers and sisters in the Lord and having been under his teachings for the last couple years through the on-line campus of Free Chapel, Jentezen Franklin is a godly man, full of humility, kindness and truth which he speaks in love. He is all about reaching the lost for Jesus Christ and he wrote this book to help people discover for themselves a deeper connection with God and for them to be empowered to go out and make a difference in the world. That’s you! You have to see for yourself just how amazing this book is and once you do, you will want to buy multiple copies and give them to your friends and family.
Blessings to you all as you set out on your own journey to living as an over comer and not allowing the chaos in this world to overwhelm you. You are the one! This is the place! Now is the time!
This book has changed my entire perspective on what I am feeling and going through. Pastor Jentezen Franklin’s anointed words articulating the depths of pain we all feel going through the inevitable hardships of this life from the perspective of spiritual warfare gives a whole new understanding of the times we are in. Hope is felt through the wisdom and encouragement in each story and with the support of Biblical references gives a reminder that “The way to overcome what overwhelms you is to get a picture of yourself not as you see yourself, but as God sees you.” Anxiety and worry begin to subside by understanding that because of the times we are in the attack of the enemy is increasing in intensity and “In order to overcome the overwhelming, you must be willing to cross through chaos.” The book emphasizes on not giving up because, “The stronger the storm, the closer you are to the point of deliverance.” Pastor Franklin's core foundation is the truth of God and His written word, and only someone who has genuinely experienced the darkness, trials and tribulations and has overcome them when it all seems and feels and looks overwhelming, would be able express to the reader a faithful expectation of victory, with such certainty, due to personally knowing God, and having a relationship with Him where He proves His word to be true. There is a prophetic edge to this book, making it all more interesting to learn how God's hand is in all of this, “Some people have the idea that certain prophecies must be fulfilled before Jesus can come again. That’s no longer true, because they now have been fulfilled. At any moment Jesus might come. We are living on the edge of eternity.” Healing for the reader will be found in these pages because this book proves “Trouble is your pathway to triumph.”
The past few years have been horrible for everyone. We all need this book because it is a great reminder that even in times of trouble like these God is still in control and that He has a plan for each of us. It really gives you this feeling of a weight being lifted. A reminder that God is in control and we don’t have to worry so much. One of the most important things for me is that this book has something for everyone but particularly anyone who suffers from depression or anxiety. The whole time I was reading it I thought of my oldest son that just graduated high school. Since he was little he has suffered from anxiety and OCD. His OCD isn’t the cute stuff portrayed by actors or people on social media pretending to have a problem when something is out of line etc. My son has suffered for years with obsessive thoughts. They torment him and have left him with depression and extreme anxiety. On the outside he tries to appear normal and happy but he struggles daily. Just days before receiving an email about reading the early release of this book I found out he had called the suicide hotline. God still works and moves. I needed this book at exactly this moment. While reading this book I would text him and call him. I would send him quotes from the book and I told him I am buying him a copy. I know that he has suffered since childhood but I also know the Only One that can heal him for good. This book will really help anyone who suffers from depression. Later in the book, it discusses Jezebel and how her spirit and lusts are still prevalent today. I love how he talks about people and passages from the Bible and shows how it is relevant today. I am not a writer. I’m just a mom who worries about her kids and family. After reading this book I know to keep looking up with my eyes on God. I know My review isn’t doing justice to this book. I truly believe this would be an excellent gift for anyone at any age.
This book literally changed my life, and it would always be my first option to gift to someone. Once you start reading the introduction, I promise you that you’ll get engaged and will want to keep reading until the end; This book will help you to understand that life is not over just because you feel overwhelmed, God is the source, the things that seem out of control are still in God’s control. We all go through difficult situations and challenges but the way we respond to it is what makes the difference.
Loved how everything referenced the bible and gave examples to help you understand better, I was impressed by the way he explains some bible scriptures, mind-blown!!.
Every single page was amazing and life transforming, providing you with tools, advices, and affirmations to overcome any difficult situation, to always chose FAITH over fear, to always make the right decisions, to be in the right place at the right time, to RUN away from sin, to overcome depression, anxiety, lack of hope etc and flipping the script by: we can do all things through Christ, you can do your best, you are knowledgable and curious about new THINGS, with God all things are possible.
This one is my favorite quote: “It’s better to fail trying to fly than to sit in the nest and die”.
It’s now my absolute favorite book, very easy to read and very thoughtful information. This is a MUST READ and blessed be the man who reads this powerful book. I highly recommend it!
Change can happen in your life! Read this book to find out how to be an overcomer!
Over the past two years all of us have been going through so much. We all had to deal with Covid, the pandemic, civil unrest, political unrest along with personal trials and challenges. Pastor Jentezen Franklin has given us a great treasure in "OVERCOMING WHEN YOU FEEL OVERWHELMED." Every sentence is like coming from the Heart of God. Reading this book makes me feel like God is speaking directly to my heart. All the scriptures that Pastor Jentezen has in his book are so powerful! In his book this is what is written: Your excuses are what God wants to use! He will take your excuses and make them opportunities. God has a purpose for your life, filled with assignments that require your unique DNA. I want you to get three truths into your heart today. Make these a personal revelation: 1. You are the one. 2. This is the place. 3. Now is the time. That's what was written in chapter 1. In chapter 3 Pastor Jentezen writes: I want to give you five aspects of your life that you need to W.A.T.C.H. in order to endure: W--your Words A--your Attitude T--your Temptations C--your Character H--your Household This book will definitely help you with whatever you're going through. Pastor Jentezen Franklin has a very powerful anointing on his life to write such a book as this! Mercy Santa Cruz
The world wants us to live in hopelessness and fear which = feeling overwhelmed-Just give up-there is nothing you can do-just accept it. NO! Pastor Franklin shows us biblically we are overcomers no matter what we read or hear from the world. We have a choice, we can focus on the problem(s) or we can choose to focus on the promises of GOD! He shows us our two greatest weapons are GOD's promises and HIS WORD!. We are created to not only survive but to overcome! Pastor Franklin shows up ways to beat our feelings of being overwhelmed. Look within, Look to HIM, Look Ahead, Look Up, and Look Out. I was drawn to this book because I am in a season where I am feeling overwhelmed in my personal life/family and what I see going on in this nation and the world. This book gave me so much encouragement in this season and some VERY helpful tips to get my mind off what I see and feel and make the choice to walk out success and rise up. Anyone struggling with feelings of being overwhelmed will find strength in this book, to conquer and turn our thoughts to HIS Goodness
Overcoming When You Feel Overwhelmed is another must read by my pastor. We have been privileged to sit under his anointed preaching for many years. He is honest and real! This book could not have come to print at a more timely season for “such a time as this.” It is the encouragement we need given the past several years of media scares, pandemics, high levels of anxiety and record numbers of depression stats. We as God children are expected to do more than survive…we must be overcomers through Jesus! This book is filled with positivity mixed in with warnings of the times we are living in and how to detect the enemy and recognize spiritual warfare when it comes. We battle not with flesh and blood! Chapters 11-13 are filled with scriptures relevant to us in the now. “We are living on the edge of eternity.” My favorite is the final page. No spoilers here…..but my prayer is that you know this Jesus whom this book highlights. If not I pray you seek Him today and make Him Lord and Savior of your life! Become an Overcomer!
Jentezen Franklin’s new book is a timely word for the weary soul. In our world today, so many Christians have been bombarded with more pressures and distractions from the enemy than ever before. Leaving them lost as to how to move forward. Franklin dynamically exposes many of the lies of the enemy, as he gives a step by step process of how to overcome those pressures. For the past year, I have found myself in one of those seasons of extreme pressure. I have had many people around me say I do not know how you are making it, only for me to wonder, am I making it? While reading Franklin’s new book, I felt encouraged as the Holy Spirit began to whisper deep into my soul to remember I am made with a purpose and no matter what my current situation, I need to move forward. So if you find yourself in a situation where somedays you have no idea what to do next, give this book a chance and allow God to breath fresh hope over your situation.
Jentezen Franklin’s Overcoming when you feel Overwhelmed is such an insightful, informative, applicable book for today’s society to read and grasp the biblical foundation for his message. He outlines several dilemmas and issues of what Christians are facing today and gives great perspective on scriptures to help apply God’s plan for surviving this fallen world. Always love how Pastor Franklin motivates and inspires you to dig deeper into the Word and gain greater knowledge of what God’s plan is for your life. His chapter on the Jezebel spirit is so needed for every Christian to understand why we struggle in this world and how to overcome all that the enemy is wielding against the body of Christ in today’s world. I highly recommend every Christian read this book and buy extra copies for family and close friends who are struggling with all this world has been going through and confusing believers.
I opened this E-book expecting to be encouraged. While fully acknowledging the desperation of our world, Pastor Jentezen Franklin has once again been used of God to spread the Gospel of Hope. He answers our questions of “Can God be trusted?” with Biblical examples of the Lord’s faithfulness throughout history. The reader is prompted to look…..within, to Him, ahead, out, and up. These words resonate within me. I especially appreciate Pastor Jentezen’s reminder that “It’s not about your strength or ability; it’s about trusting God.” I plan to use this book as a guide for our Fall Connect Group. Pastor Jentezen is an encourager to the body of Christ, and this book will strengthen the reader’s convictions that our God is totally in control, even when the physical world seems to be falling apart.
Wow!!!! Overcoming When You Feel Overwhelmed is a must read! Jentezen Franklin offers insight and wisdom concerning our struggles and the times we are living in. He reminds us that we need to stay saturated in the Word of God and motivated by the Holy Spirit so we may be ready for the battle.
“You are part of biblical prophecy at this very mo- ment. Our generation has been marked with prophetic promises. God is allowing us to see events unfolding that the ancient prophets only saw in visions and dreams. It's easy to forget that God is orchestrating behind the scenes as we go about our business in the process of living our lives. He has sent you on a prophetic journey. If you trust Him, you can know that He is in control and that He holds you in His hand. Read that last line again!
If you are discouraged and feeling down, or depressed and feeling Overwhelmed with the Chaos that surrounds us in the world today, no matter what the circumstances are, there is HOPE. Jentzen Franklin shares a wealth of knowledge in the pages of this book and not only gives you sound steps to surviving the chaos in your life but using the very thing that has you downtrodden to help yourself and others become "Overcomers". This book is sincere. And I believe JF has put his heart and soul into every page. I strongly believe that it will change lives for the better. Take my advice, get the book! Be an "Overcomer".
Jentezen Franklin is one Christian author who I trust completely. I didn't think he could write anything better and more relevant than "The Spirit of Python," that has been my absolute favorite so far...until now. As I read this book I felt as though someone had looked inside of my head and my heart and then wrote about it and gave me some insight into why I struggle the way I do and also some biblical solutions. Pastor Frankline outdid himself with this book and in light of our current world events, I highly recommend it.
A Good Read certainly for anyone struggling to find a better way, or for the believer that needs to stay on the straight path. This work of art provides a way to deal with anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, low self esteem, etc.; and gives a way to biblically deal with these issues. This book gives hope but also talks to the reader about sin and how to recognize it, fight it, & overcome it. For me it helps me in my own struggles and helps me get back the passion I need to follow Jesus and to fight the sin in this world. The book is needed right now to help regain or build strength and a obtain spirit for God!
This book is amazing and exceeded my expectations. It's a must read for the times we're in. I love the guidance on making wise choices in the worst of times. I feel privileged being part of this Launch Team. Here's just a sample of what you will read:
"...five aspects of your life that you need to W.A.T.C.H. in order to endure: W - Watch your Words, A - your Attitude, T - your Temptations, C - your Character, H - your Household.
It is a good pastor book, at least partly it does things very well, but then it feels like the main idea is based on a series of sermons, with the addition of a few more sermons to fill the rest of the book. Even so, this is my first book that I've read written by Jentezen Franklin, and I am pleased - there are good angels here to cover the topic, and it shows that he has these things in his heart and wants to express them. That passion translates into a good book.
This book was written for "such a time as this"! With anxiety at an all-time high, this book reveals God's truths about dealing with feelings of anxiety, fear and being overwhelmed. It has given me new peace and hope for my future. I would recommend this book to anyone facing anxiety, fear, depression - ALL CHALLENGES as we face uncertainty during these times. It's a MUST READ!
“God doesn’t call us to survive. He calls us to overcome.”
Pastor Franklin provides practical, Biblical knowledge, insight, and guidance for overcoming in the times we are living in. We are never alone. God is always with us.
It is not enough to survive. God wants us to overcome.
This is a must read for anyone feeling overwhelmed by the chaotic world we are living in. Jentzen Franklin did an amazing job speaking to my heart right where I am at this point in my life. Even though we can be bound by the enemy, he reminds me of how Our strong and mighty God can deliver us from our all of our bondages! This book must be shared with everyone!
I have the privilege to sit under Pastor Jentezen Franklin's ministry weekly, so when the opportunity arose to read his new book "Overcoming When You Feel Overwhelmed" early I immediately said yes! Often people will recommend a new book as a must read and we are disappointed - not with this book. We've all gone through the last few years with similar and sometimes traumatic experiences - Jentezen Franklin addresses this with such clarity and depth - if you've ever heard him minister you will be hearing his voice throughout these pages. Not only do I recommend this book as a must read - I suggest it as a - must read, take notes, highlight passages and repeat!
I had the honor and privilege of a pre-launch reading and it was a blessing. I have read many of Ps Jentezen books and love them all. This book, however, is my favourite so far. To me it is a book written in season, for “such a time as this” and it equips us to overcome current trials and even the end times challenges and trials we may come to face. It is the kind of book that every Christian should read. It’s written with wisdom and anointing. I higly recommend this book and will read it again and again, as I still do with Ps Jentezen's book "Fasting: Opening the Door to a Deeper, More Intimate, More Powerful Relationship with God". May God bless Pastor Jentezen Franklin and his ministry.
