Uniquely Rika

Rate this book
This is NOT your typical D/s manual. Uniquely Rika provides a practical, intelligent, common-sense approach to adding D/s to your relationship; with long-termed success. You’ll see how fulfilling the inner desire to serve or be served is within your reach - without having to mask yourself in artificial roles and games. Ms. Rika explains why several popular approaches fail to last. She then details her approach to creating successful D/s relationships; one which has proven as effective with seasoned D/s players as with those who never thought themselves to be a ‘dominant’ or ‘submissive’. Regardless of your experience level, Uniquely Rika will provide a new insight, a heightened awareness, and a fresh perspective on D/s that will enhance your relationships, forever. Though written from the ‘female-led’ perspective, the concepts are applicable to any loving partners. If you’re serious about a lasting and meaningful D/s-based relationship, you’ll want to read “Uniquely Rika”.

Hi! I'm a lifestyle domme and author.

I tend to be more of a non-fiction reader; tending towards bios and techniques. I have a variety of interests, including photography, martial arts, volleyball, cycling, and chess.

I've spent most of my career in investment banking and actually enjoy it :) Writing has always been a passion, provided I'm passionate about what I write!

That is certainly the case when I write about Dominance and Submission (D/s). Through the years, I've developed an approach to introducing D/s dynamics to relationships and have had the privilege of helping couples find success with it.

In 2008, I wrote "Uniquely Rika", the book that most fundamentally explains that approach. It's the book that explained that "Submission isn't what is done to you, it's what you do for your dominant". The dominant-centric approach to power dynamics is a game-changing direction.

To date, I've released eight works on this subject. They are published through Lulu.com (see the website link in my profile) but most are also available through other channels.

I hope to hear from my readers (past and future!).

- Rika.

This book is really just for couples in which the male is submissive, and not only that, he is gripped by femdom fantasies and so on. In that context, it's a very good book. It tells the reader how to realize those fantasies in a more authentic way than having his girlfriend dress up and talk tough. It goes further than similar books in this genre, in an insightful way. Still, the multiple !!!! and ??? that crop up now and then did bother me.

If you're not a couple in that exact situation, the value of the book is far more limited. It's still probably something that every couple contemplating anything more than the lightest D/s play should read, perhaps even with dominant males and submissive females.

Ms Rika offers an approach to power exchange relationships that are not stereotypical, i.e. that dominant women have to degrade and humiliate ... basically playing the roles the porn industry portrays them be. I found her views to demonstrate and promote a better understanding of balancing the polarities of dominant and submissive, of power. It's also well well written. I highly recommend this book if you are exploring the world of D/s.

Research for Nameless! Very interesting to learn a little more about submission orientation and how it differs from pop culture. Not sure this research will make it into the Nameless draft, but it might help explain some slaves' dedication to their families beyond the obvious.

This book is the best for novices and experienced people alike. This book opens an excellent window into the world of female-led relationships and the concept of serving a woman, from her perspective. Rika is writing from her own experiences and she manages to be both knowledgeable and fascinating. I would choose this book to be the first to open the mind to the world of femdom.

Blunt, straightforward, and informative.

This was a very interesting read. I would recommend it to anyone considering an FLR. It’s hard to say whether or not her approach is too intense for what I am seeking, but time and putting it into practice will tell.

Clarifies the difference between what a D/s relationship is and what it is not

Breaks away from the male fantasies of what a Dominant woman is. Clear guidance for the Dominant and what they could expect in a FLR.

I gave this book 2 stars because I felt like the author could’ve organized her thoughts better. Provided more scientific data about sexuality and romantic relationships. This sounded like a book full of randomness pulled together. I did highlight a few things she stated, her philosophy was good but execution of the book entirely felt rushed and repetitive. I genuinely thought she would offer some kind of new narrative on how to create the relationship you desire

Breath of fresh air

I found this book very helpful though I disagree mainly in the area of corporal punishment being needed for day to day control in submissives like myself who find it does put me back in a submissive mood immediately and I definitely don't enjoy it. I know it works in my case not being in the least bit masochistic and my wife seems to benefit with more confidence and a feeling of fulfillment sometimes. I do however agree with pretty much everything else in this book. I do believe that the author as many people doesn't reflect enough that everyone is different and will react differently she does a great job in general in many areas and certainly is likely to have many try her techniques
