Christa is returning to Snowflake falls after three years, when her aunt falls ill, and she is needed to help run the family’s candy store and bakery. The last time that she had been home she had met Michael the deputy sheriff and they shared a kiss that had haunted her ever since. Hoping that they could maybe catch up if they meet again falls flat when the man, she remembered seems to be nothing like the man he is today. But when she is caught in a snowstorm and he comes looking for her things heat up between them only for things to crash and burn when she is accused of being a thief. When the truth comes to light will Christa be able to forgive Michael?
Michael has often thought of a kiss he shared with Christa that Christmas years ago but had resigned himself to not seeing her again. That is until he walks into the bakery only to see the woman whose lips, he has never forgotten but Michael is no longer he same man he was after the death of his father and becoming the sheriff of Snowflake Falls, but Christa being back makes him hope for more. however, when the local tavern reports thefts from the customers, he suspects Christa could be involved after checking the security tapes, keeping his suspicions to himself when she goes missing in a snowstorm, he will stop at nothing to find her and they share a night to remember. In the morning light though he cannot ignore his suspicions and asks Christa, has he ruined his second chance at love, or can he convince Christa to give him one last chance?
It is no secret that I have loved every one of these books and going back to the eighties was fun too, Christa was far more forgiving than I would ever have been but these two deserved their happily ever after. Happy, fun and snowy holiday read.
I really love these Insta-Love romances by Jessa Joy because she always packs a lot of heat into these intense little romances. You can't go wrong with any of these books in the Snowflake Falls series. There's always a wonderful, romantic storyline and strong, realistic characters that you can't help but fall madly in love with them, whilst rooting them on towards their happily ever afters. This book is the prequel to the Snowflake Falls series and it begins in 1985 with the spark that started it all. It's Christmas time and Deputy Sheriff Michael Bell is keeping an eye on things at the pre-Christmas party at the Snowflake Falls city hall. He's off duty and steps outside to get a breath of fresh air when walking up to the hall's door is a curvy woman with dark hair carrying a large cardboard box. She catches him off guard with her gorgeous looks and unfamiliar face. She introduces herself as Christa and she there dropping off things from her Aunt's sweets shop. She approaches the door and turns to him saying that he looks like that guy from the Indiana Jones movie. He helps her through the door. He debates with himself about whether he should follow her in and decides against it because it would be too stalkerish. He continues to debate with himself and finally decides to go back in, except when he opens the door, there making her way outside is Christa with two cups of cocoa. They make their way over to the porch swing and sit side by side on it. He notices that she's cold and suggests that they go back inside to warm up. She agrees but only on the condition that she gets a kiss from Harrison Ford to warm her up. They kiss and then there's a crash from inside. Her cousin Tammy runs out, tells Mike that there's a fight going on and that he needs to go break it up before they kill each other. Apparently there's blood involved and the sight makes Tammy queasy so she starts retching into a potted plant. Mike quills the fight and by the time he gets back outside, both Tammy and Christa are gone. So much for that absolutely fantastic kiss he and Christa shared. Fast forward three years later and Christa is back in Snowflake Falls helping her cousin Tammy out at her Aunt Edie's sweet shop, The Candy Cabin. Her aunt is currently in the hospital trying to get over a severe illness so she's helping out when she can. The bell at the door rings and in walks Indiana (Deputy Mike), the man whose kiss she's been dreaming about for the past three years. He's here with a husky who is riling up her aunt's cat. She asks him to please leave the dog outside to which he icily says that the dog is well behaved and won't do anything. She notices a flash of metal and asks him if he's carrying a gun to which he says that he is and that's because he is the sheriff. The dog lunges on to the counter and causes the cat to arch its back and hiss loudly. She yells at Mike to get his dog out of the shop and quickly hands him his purchases. He leaves and she can't believe that that is the same guy she fantasized about. How rude! Michael on the other hand goes about his duties and ends up at Friar's bar, a local watering hole in Snowflake Falls, because there's been a report of several thefts taking place there. He gets the security tapes from the bar and starts to go through them when he notices Christa in one of them entering with a coat and hat on but exiting with the same but a patterned scarf in addition and that happens to be one of the stolen items. Christa gets up the next day to find her cousin, Tammy, very sick so she decides to make her cousin stay home while she runs the Candy Cabin by herself. While there Sheriff Michael comes in to the shop, where he questions her about the grandmotherly watch she's wearing and the coat with the scarf by the door which are also hers. Little does she know that he's asking her about these items because they're on the list of items stolen from the bar. In the midst of all his questions Christa receives a phone call from her supplier who can't deliver the goods she needs for the shop. He can only make it to Bakersville, about forty minutes away from her. It's starting to snow heavier and she makes the decision to drive out there and pick it up so she'll have it for tomorrow's customers. Michael on the other hand has found an injured dog roaming loose in town. He takes it to his house, which just so happens to be across from Tammy's, to bandage it and when he's leaving with the dog Tammy calls him from her upstairs window. She asks him if he's seen Crista because she's not home yet and isn't answering the phone at the sweet shop. He tells her that the last time he saw her she was on her way to pick up the supplies for the shop. She asks him to please go look for her because she's too sick to do so and Christa should have been back by now. He takes the dog to its owners and while there it begins to snow even harder. The dog's owners try to convince him to come inside and stay for a while, at least until it stops snowing as hard. He tells them no, that he needs to head up the mountain towards Bakersville to try and find Christa, who is missing. They hand over a key to a couple of cabins they own up the way he's headed in case he needs to abandon his vehicle and find a warm safe place to ride out the storm. This is where I'll leave you and you'll have to get the book to find out the rest. It really is a sweet, heartwarming story that tugs at the heartstrings. It is the perfect story for curling up by the fireplace this Christmas time and I can highly recommend it to you to warm your soul as well.

Jessa Joy has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Christa and Michael. Christa meets Michael at Friar's bar when she took some stuff to the bar. They end up sitting outside talking until her cousin Tammy comes out and tells Michael that he is needed inside. Michael is a deputy sheriff and it is his night off. When he comes back out, Christa is gone. They meet again three years later when Michael goes to Candi Cabin and she is the one who waits on him. He is now the sheriff of Snowflake Falls. He is not as nice as she thought him to be. Michael wants to know why she is back in town. She tells him that her aunt Edie has been put in the hospital and she is there to help her cousin, Tammy run the place. Tammy calls Christa and lets her know that she is sick and she would have to run the shop by herself. Michael has gone to the bar and Laurence, the owner wants to talk to him about some thefts that have been going on. Michael asks for the videotapes and a list of things missing. When Michael watches the tapes, he sees that Christa takes a scarf that is reported missing. He goes to talk to her and when he sees her, he noticed that she is wearing a watch that looks like one that was taken. He asked about it and was told that it was her grandma's. He looks over at her coat and scarf and asked if they were hers. She tells him that they were. She wants to know why. He tells her that he is just checking on something, police business. Before she can say anything else, she gets a call telling her that her delivery was not coming, it was being left in Bakersville and if she wanted it she had to go and get it. When she tells Michael she has to go to Bakersville, he asks "Are you serious?" We are due to get some heavy snow and the mountain roads are tricky at the best of times. She tells him that she can take care of herself. She goes to the door and holds it open as she turns the open sign to close. After Michael wakes out she closed the door and locks it behind her. Michael finds a dog and he knows who it belongs to but he sees if has hurt its paw so he takes it home with him and cleans it up before he takes it home. When he is leaving, Tammy sees him and asks him if he has seen Christa. She tells him that she hasn't come home and she has called the store three times with no answer. She is sick, and can't go looking for her. Michael tells her that he had seen her earlier and she said she was going to Bakersville to pick up supplies. He said that he would call up there. He was taking the dog up the mountain so he would check the road for her. After dropping off the dog, Michael continues up the mountain toward Bakersville. He passed one spot and just as he gets passed a tree falls over the road. Not long after, he sees a car pulled off to the side of the road. It's covered with snow. He walks up to the car and sees Christa inside. Things are not looking good for them. Michael had been told by Colt that there were some cabins up on the mountain and gave him the keys to them in case he ran into trouble and couldn't get off the mountain. When Michael finds Christa, he knows they have to go to one of the cabins. Things happen when they get to the cabin. Christa tells him that she knows that she is not someone with who he wants to be stuck with. He tells her that he wouldn't say that. He hadn't forgotten the kiss they shared when she was there before. You disappeared afterward, so maybe she had. She said, "Excuse me? My cousin was sick and I had to get her home ASAP. And no, I haven't forgotten. They talk some more and she finds out that his dad had died earlier that year and he had a lot on his mind. They end up sleeping together and things seem to be going well for them. The next morning, Michael gets word that the tree blocking the road has been cleared so they can go back to Snowflake Falls. Michael takes Christa to her car and gets it running and she follows him back to Candi Cabin. When they get inside, he asked her about her coat and scarf. When he tells her why she tells him that she can't believe he can think that about her after what they had done at the cabin. She tells him to get out of the store. Michael goes out to his car and meets Carl. Carl tells him that while he was at the bar, he saw something and Michael needs to go and check it out. Michael goes to the bar and talks to Laurence. While they are downstairs, one of the employees of the bar comes down with a box. Michael wants to see what is in the box and the guy doesn't want to show Michael what is inside. Michael finds out the guy is the one doing the stealing. He goes to see Christa and he explains what happened. Will Christa give Michael a second chance? This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Fate has a way of getting her way and that is the case with our two love birds three years ago Christa was in Snowflake Falls around Christmas helping her aunt with the candy shop and while at the town hall parade or event she met Michael the town sheriff and the attraction was so hard to resist and giving in just for a kiss or so she thought. Because upon leaving the head home neither of them forgot the other and three years has passed and yet they still think about each other and that kiss. Fast forward three years and she is back in Snowfall to help her or rather run her aunts candy shop since her aunt is in the hospital and the sheriff comes in and the energy isn’t following as it did before, but it is only because he wants her safe. You see she has run out of supplies and attempting to leave for the other town right before a blizzard hits and yep, the sheriff isn’t having it. So since he can’t legally stop her he makes the decision to follow to ensure her safety and they end up staying the night in a cabin where she is interrogated about a theft which doesn’t set the ground for any type of relationship so after learning the truth and catching the culprit will she forgive him for treating her like a criminal, will they get another chance at something amazing, will her aunt get better, and can they find happiness?

Christa has come to Snowflake Falls to help her aunt in her candy shop during the holiday season. Christa loves making the special candy canes. She is going to be going to catering school. She is a bubbly, friendly, feisty, curvy woman. she takes an interest in the deputy. They kiss and are just starting to get to know each other when they are disturbed. Michael can’t forget that kiss. Three years later they run into each other again. Michael is now the Sheriff and Christa is working at the candy shop again. What will happen? There is a soothsayer. There is drama. There is a snowstorm. There is anger. Is there any chance they will be able show each other what they feel? It is an enjoyable read. The characters are lovable, down to earth, next door neighbors. They make the story come to life. Very entertaining.

Snowed in with the Guy Next Door is the start of where it all began. Michael meet Christa at a Christmas party, after an unforgettable kiss, Christa disappeared. Three years later, a few things changed in the town of Snowflake, but not their feeling, but can Michael trust her.
This is a great fast story with a hint of danger, strong passion and a slight misunderstand that heats up the pages from start to finish.

Christa met Michael years before when she came to visit her Aunt and Cousin and Michael stole a kiss from her and three years later she's back in Snowflake Falls. He really like her but he was a grump towards her about the cat and the dog. He finally apologizes about his attitude. This was a really good story with Christa who's really sweet and kind and Michael who's smart and can sing. They have the greatest chemistry together. I love that the story had a little of a mystery thrown in. Great Christmas Story. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Fumbling For Their Forever - Christa was attracted to Michael the moment she met him and let him know, but the circumstances at that time didn’t give them the opportunity to explore what could be. Fortunately, the opportunity for a second chance arose, but Michael squandered the opportunity with his grumpy attitude and an incorrect assumption. It would take an unexpected third opportunity and Michael grovelling to get them back on the road to a happily ever after.
After reading books one to nine of the Holiday Romance in Snowflake Falls series, it was great reading about how the love fest started. I love every visit to Snowflake Falls and I've been lucky enough to be on board since the beginning. This prequel is the perfect addition to our lovely couples. This is the story of the Bells (sooo many Bells) parents getting together so you know there's a HEA, the journey was fun! A little twisty and you kind of have to wonder but it works out. Truly love every visit to Snowflake Falls and hope we have another year of holidays to get stuck with our hometown hotties next door. I received a free copy from Booksprout in an exchange for an honest review and honestly, I have already read this twice 🙂 love it.
Another great book by a great author that you will enjoy reading. These two characters have feelings for one another after sharing one kiss years ago. When she’s back in town to help run the candy store when her aunt is sick the sheriff will do everything in his power to make sure no crime happens in his watch. The two get trapped in a cabin during the blizzard and once they make it back to town she’s asked if she’s the thief. Will he be able to make things right? Get this book and find out!

This was a short and sweet Christmas story. with a sweet and a bit too serious sheriff and his candy making woman. Sweet, romantic, short and safe with a sweet HEA and no real drama🥰🥰🥰
Fun book and all but it’s more like a second chance romance than the boy next door. Yes there is one mention that Micheal lives next door but Christa and Micheal have a past that is where their story starts

Michael is a great character warm, witty and smart. Christa is strong, funny, and kind. They met before and now she is back. This book had Carl who I really liked who offered advice and information even though it was not asked for. I liked how there was more going on then just their romance. This is a quick read and it was very enjoyable. I love small town stories. Snowed in with the guy next door was a wonderful winter read.

A fantastic second chance romance page-turner in the Holiday Romance in Snowflake Falls series! It is intriguing, engaging, emotionally deep, steamy, and well written with some drama. The characters are likeable with off the charts chemistry between them. Definitely recommended!

This was such a great short story and I love how these two meet and reconnect years later. Christa is bold and not shy to speak her mind or make the first move. Michael is at first nervous and not sure on what to do.. but years later he is hurt and sad from loosing his father and mire serious. Stuck together is a snow storm these two can no longer deny the chemistry and feelings both feel. Carl just cracks me up ...
This sweet and funny romance will make you believe in love all over again. This look back at the Bells is fantastic and makes you hold on just a little tighter to your loved ones. I'm so glad that I was able to see this look back and would love to see more set in Snowflake Falls.

3.5 stars for the throwback prequel. Sheriff Michael and Christa are a cute second chance story. The small town is sweet. I love the feeling I get when reading about their journey and its little twists and turns. I definitely need to make sure I have read all the books set in Snowflake. Carl and Elena are favorite secondary characters.

The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Michael and Christa and does not let go. They have an instant connection when she comes to town to work at the bakery but circumstances separate them. When she moves to town three years later, will they have a second chance?
