Project Phoenix #3

Reactivated: Jericho

Rate this book
Off-limits. Far too young. Utterly tempting.

Former Navy SEAL Jericho “Trip” Strong vows to stay away from his gorgeous neighbor Sydney Merrick. But, when she gets caught up in his trouble, they find themselves locked up together in a windowless room.

The evil entities behind Project Phoenix fear Jericho’s increasing powers and the fact that they can’t control him. As a result, they call for his immediate termination.

Scheduled to be euthanized at first light, the clock is ticking and Jericho refuses to let the only woman he's ever cared about get hurt. As they begin to realize there’s no escape, Sydney makes Jericho an enticing offer and, as much as he tries to resist, his willpower begins to crumble.

After all, it’s their last night and they have nothing left to lose. Except themselves to the simmering passion that threatens to ignite them both.

This series is truly captivating!

Reactivated:Jericho is book 3 of the Project Phoenix series.

These stories are interconnected, so I highly recommend reading them from book 1, each book has a H/h who find their HEA by the end of each book with the main storyline “Project Phoenix” continuing throughout. This series is addictive, the characters are very likeable, the heroes are sexy, protective and funny, whilst our heroine’s give the guys a run for their money, matching them with their wits, intelligence and strong personalities.

As I read each book I keep thinking “this is my favourite” so with this book I have to say…Jericho & Sydney are my favourites 😍🥰 I adored their relationship journey, Jericho’s experience, mixed with Sydney’s inexperience was a perfect balance of strength & vulnerability. The ongoing Project Phoenix storyline is heating up, the suspense kept me turning the pages, I’m intrigued about poor Cassian, hoping the boys rescue him soon 🙏🏼

If you love your romance with a military theme, a sprinkling of suspense, superpower abilities and a action packed filled storyline then check out Project Phoenix Series, highly compelling.

This is the third book in a fun, sexy series filled with hot, beefy Navy SEALS and steamy romance. I love the characters of Syd and Jericho and what they did with their time locked in a windowless room contemplating a certain demise. Although you don't have to read the whole series, this book really helped flesh out the Project Phoenix series and its mysteries.

The opening scene is likely to pull anyone in, but especially romance novel enthusiasts. Syd and Jericho's story is filled with action that will keep you reading as well. If you've read books 1 and 2, you'll get to see some fun familiar characters as well, though it is not necessary to read the previous books to read Jericho's story.

I enjoy reading this author because the stories pull me away from reality for a time with their own drama, adventure and conflict but always have a nice HEA so I feel good about life when I'm finish reading. I recommend this series to anyone currently living in a pandemic who wants to escape talk of variants, masks and social distancing. Enjoy meeting some hot guys, sweet romances and fun characters.

I received an ARC of this story and am leaving a voluntary review.

This one didn’t work for me as well as the others. Yet, I feel like some of it is just there were too many themes for me that aren’t my personal preference - not bad writing, if that makes any sense.

“I don’t want to die a virgin”, “I’ve slept around trying to forget you”, and “I don’t deserve you so I’m going to hurt you for your own good” always rub me the wrong way. Throw in some TSTL on Sydney’s part and I really struggled to connect with the relationship aspect of the story. Despite the fact that Jericho & Sydney have known each other for a while and professed their love, I didn’t really feel their HEA.

I did like the parts that further the project Phoenix plot lines and the action scenes, but would have liked to see those better developed.

I still plan to continue the series and I am looking forward to Max’s book.

What did I like about this book? EVERYTHING! This book is action-packed and fast-paced but still manages to build up the relationship between the hero and heroine and make it believable. It has a virgin trope but it doesn't read like one. Sydney is anything but a shy, demure little lady. The chemistry between her and Jericho is off-the-charts. I loved watching the bad boy settle down and the spunky girl go after what she wants. Throw in the suspense plot and this thing should be turned into a blockbuster! I loved, loved this book and am so ready for the next in the series!

Another great installment in this series. I love the unique powers each SEAL has when activated and the different love stories that play out amidst all the action. I'm anxious to see how Gracyk tied up some loose ends and to venture into the spin-off series! Now I sit and anxiously await the next one...write fast Charissa Gracyk. I'm (not so patiently) waiting!

The Chemistry and Conflict Combust, and It’s Fantastic!
Charissa Gracyk kicks up the action and the heat in “Reactivated: Jericho”, book 3 in her Project Phoenix series. Building on the story developed in books 1 & 2, Gracyk ups the stakes in the team’s efforts to bring Project Phoenix to an end once and for all. The chemistry between Jericho and Sydney ignites quickly and creates a tone and pace of intensity that pulls the reader into the story and the characters’ lives. Gracyk keeps the angst in the plot rather than between the characters, who face an external struggle together, rather than fighting each other. And I love that. No spoiler here in that readers will love this HEA, but don’t think it’s conflict free, either. The well-developed storyline includes all of the team members from books 1 & 2, and gives even more insight into characters Aidan and Cassian, but the spotlight still shining predominantly on Jericho and Sydney- an unlikely couple who couldn’t be more perfect for each other. The tension at the end of this book is high for more than one reason, and I am looking forward to book 4 with serious excitement and anticipation.

dammit

It was all going so well, and I have really enjoyed this series so far but I just couldn’t find it in me to like either of these characters enough. Despite this I enjoyed the progression of the Project storyline and love all the surrounding characters, even dour Aiden whose reason for his distraction I am hoping will come out soon!

Jericho was a great team mate, loyal to his friends and a fun character in general. Usually where a character is previously (or early in the story) a bit of a lady killer I can move on from it, but I just never felt like I could progress from when he redeemed or changed to being so committed to Syd. The whole vegas thing left a bad impression on me I think.

Similarly I didn’t have a problem with the age difference at all, and don’t consider 24 to be too young at all, but unfortunately Syd did fall spectacularly into the “too stupid to live” category for me towards the end and I lost patience for her.

Overall a bit of a disappointment but suspect it’s perhaps more me than the book - as part of a series it def worth a read

Reactivated: Jericho by Charissa Gracyk

description

The third installment of the Project Phoenix series follows Jericho's story after he was kidnapped along with his gorgeous neighbor, Sydney, by Veronica Schaffer and her thugs. He constantly tries to resist his much younger blonde and hot neighbor, but the universe seems to like to torture him. Sydney, now knowing that Jericho is in danger due to Project Phoenix, can't resist the urge to protect him, even when he's the one who is used to do the protection.

I loved Jericho. He's strong, competent, loyal and a hot as hell. However I feel like he should've been a bit more adamant about Sydney's protection. She has him wrapped around her fingers and gets to do whatever she wants. And it really annoyed me for a while. I know she has the best intentions and is preoccupied with Jericho's safety, but Jesus... He's highly trained and has telekinetic powers, girl. Chill a bit.

Other than that, I feel like the book flowed really well. Many things about Veronica and her employer started to be solved and Charissa showed more of Ghost, which honestly I can't wait to see how she's going to solve THAT. He's in full Winter Soldier mode, dude. Completely reactivated! And the epilogue with the begining of of Max and his bartender's story really set the mood for the next book.

I loved this book! It was dramatic,  intriguing,  had a lot of suspense and that wonderful team spirit.
This one was focused on next door neighbours,  Jericho and Sydney.  Both get kidnapped and they have to fight their way out.
There was so much drama and intensity in this both from the action but also from their relationship.
Sydney knew what she wanted but Jericho was in the fight of his life with should he shouldn't he with regards to Sydney. But their love won out.
It was great to have the team involved as well as Cassian, and her father the General, who was the main catalyst in preventing Jericho from jumping right into the relationship.
Very well written,  with a cat of amazing characters and I loved the gift that Jericho had of predicting the future.  So cool.
This was an amazing book and very much enjoying this series.  Can't wait for more!
This was an ARC and this is my honest review.

Book 3, which stars Jericho was an excellent read! I love the combination of innocence and protectiveness that makes up Sydney’s character. Oh and Jericho….Such a strong alpha hero, but he also shows us a relatable side too! I especially felt a connection with Jericho because feeling like you’re not enough is something I’ve struggled with my whole life. Charissa, what can I say? You totally wow me with your words! I love how this series has unfolded, revealing just enough to keep the momentum going and letting the mystery tease and pull us even deeper into the world of Project Phoenix. Keep up the awesomeness that you create for us Charissa! Definitely a five star read!!! I highly recommend picking up this series.

Reactivated Jericho is the third book in the series and it’s another awesome read!
Action packed, suspenseful and hot romance!
I loved Jericho and Sydney 😍
Jericho thinking he’s not good enough and to old for Sydney and trying to keep his distance. But Sydney doesn’t let him.
They are just perfect for each other!
Lots of chemistry!!
The plot started in the firs book and the team discoverers more about who’s behind it. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series!
This book can be read as a stand-alone but I recommend reading the series from the start because of the continuing plot and to get to know everyone on the team.
Highly recommended!
I received this arc from the author and this review is my honest opinion.

Another great instalment in the Project Phoenix series by Charissa Gracyk!

I loved this one with Jericho and his younger neighbour, Sydney. It’s packed full of action (as you’d expect of Charissa!) and their chemistry.. 🔥🔥🔥 Wowsers! Hot hot hot!!

Jericho.. he’s such a complicated guy, so much more than how he seems on the surface. I loved seeing him try and resist Sydney, thinking he doesn’t deserve her. He’s such a beautiful guy, inside and out.

Sydney. She’s his younger neighbour who knows what she wants, no question.. I think she was perfect for Jericho. They were great together and complimented each other perfectly. ♥️

Their chemistry jumped off the page at you.. ooof, Charissa can certainly write steamy scenes!!🔥

Once again, another great book by Charissa, she makes you feel so much! Their love was something that I loved reading, it was beautifully written, as was the whole book.

Thank you Charissa ♥️

ARC review:
Just like with the first two books in the series, Reactivate: Jericho is chalked full of action, heart pounding situations and spice. So much spice.

Written in multiple POVs, it follows Jericho and his neighbor Sydney as they do recon to find out who's funding Project Phoenix and reactivating his brothers.

The only thing that bothered me about this book was how whiny and stubborn Sydney is. I mean, yes she is much younger than Jericho and there's nothing wrong with that but she never listens, using the fact that her military father raised her as her reasoning for doing the complete opposite of what he asked her to do.

All in all, another great book by Charissa, a new book boyfriend for me and I'm excited to read Max's story next.

A phenomenal read. Every book in the series just gets better and better. Jericho and Sydney are sure to grab a hold of you and take you for one wild ride. There's tons to unravel in this one. You'll get a whole lot of action, suspense, twists, and turns. It's a fast paced, on the edge of your seat, page turner. You might not know or even see what's coming but when it does be prepared because anything's possible. You'll be engrossed from start to finish with this. It's a must read that I highly recommend. It doesn't disappoint. I loved reading and I can't wait to see what's next for this series.

Flaming Hearts

Charissa Gracyk’s third book in her ‘Project Phoenix’ series is certainly firing up the readers and ratings. Jericho and Sydney, the main characters, are neighbors and have secretly had their eyes on each other for a long time. Jericho is a thirty-one year old former Navy SEAL who really wants to be with Sydney but thinks he’s too old for her plus her father warned him away from her. Sydney is a twenty-four year old who’s just about to graduate Veterinary school and likes to lay outside in her tiny red bikini to entice Jericho. Jericho tries his best to stay away from Sydney as much as possible but the one time he goes over to her place to get some food, people from Project Phoenix shows up to kidnap them both. This is an exciting, suspenseful, romantic adventure that was so riveting I couldn’t put it down until the very last page. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!

Hold into your seats!!

Hold into your seats because the hits just keep on coming!!!
Jericho is such a complex, beautiful character. Sydney is the Ideal woman to bring him peace, acceptance and the love he needs.
The story that began with Oz continues with the same nail biting suspense we've seen previously. Their bonds of brotherhood tighten as they fight the evil trying to use them for nefarious purposes. They fight with strength and a certainty that together they will win in the end.
Sydney maybe a younger character but in my opinion they compliment each other perfectly. Her need to protect and support Jericho whatever the danger is pure poetry in motion, it's both beautiful and hearteNing to watch.
Way hung the walls around Jericho's heart crack and fall as he tried his grandest to resist what he doesn't feel he deserves just makes you love him all the more!!
Charisma Gracyk's talent one again jumps from every word that intertwined to create another addition to the magical world where you just want to pull up a chair and where every moment unfold before your very eyes. She writes with an obvious love and passion for her art.
This book has it all: suspense, passion, brotherhood, family, an all consuming chemistry and a love Radisson tangible you could reach out and hold it close to your heart.
Definitely not to be missed. 20 million stars!!!!!

Installment 3 of the Project Phoenix doesn’t disappoint!

It was really refreshing to see that Jericho, a definite alpha hero, had a softer side underneath his tough exterior. The man loves his cat, and in my opinion, any man that loves animals becomes that much hotter. It also made him relatable and endearing. Add in some hard-core action scenes, a forbidden age-gap romance, plus a lot of chemistry and heat between him and Sydney, and you’ve got a heck of a read. Charissa knocked it out of the park, as usual.

Disappointed

I've enjoyed this series so far but this installment just fell really short. The TSTL blonde, perky virgin deal grated my nerves. I really wanted Jericho to have had more depth and breadth in this book and while there was some all thing was super clichéd, especially the ending. I'll still be moving on to the next one but I really hope this was just a one off disappointment.

I keep wanting to stop reading this series, because the shenanigans continue to become sillier.

The template for each book gets thinner all the time. One of the former SEALs gets "reactivated" and the rest of the characters react. At numerous points, the reactivated SEAL takes road trips with a woman who insists on tagging along. Then she behaves stupidly a few times and needs to be rescued.

In this story, much is made about the "age gap" between Jericho (31) and Syd (24). I don't get the ruckus on that. This comes up so many times it could be a drinking game. Also, and most frustratingly, the bad guy is a snarly, high class woman who escapes EVERY SINGLE TIME, no matter how certain her capture is. This story plot smacks of a Lexi Blake series, Masters and Mercenaries. Only there's no humor here at all, and nearly every character vies for the title of Too Stupid to Live. Oh yeah, and a surprise baby gets tossed into the mix, if you're tracking ridiculous tropes. Add also a virgin, and many miscommunications, and there you have it.

Lastly every book is a cliffhanger since the author is determined to drag out the Crazy Woman trope til the very, very end.

I see all the high ratings and that probably makes me an outlier. The sex is great in all the books, but not so much this one due to the virgin thing. I can't finish this series.

Jericho and Sydney’s story is a bit of a whirlwind. That doesn’t mean this is an instalove, fall too fast story, though. They’ve actually known each other for a little while, admiring each other from afar as neighbors. But Jericho never felt like he was quite good enough, she was too young (though 7 years isn’t a huge age gap imo), and really, he was more afraid of wanting more. Plus, her military father basically warned him off his little girl, so what could he do? But Sydney had a crush on the sexy former SEAL, and always found little ways to get into his life. When one of those ways, inviting him over to help her eat some of the huge dinner she made, puts her right in the path of the evil behind Project Phoenix.

We get a lot of fast paced action and story progression in this book. And while their relationship does move rather quickly once it gets going, that doesn’t stop Jericho from second guessing himself and constantly feeling guilty over his feelings for Sydney. There’s plenty of chemistry and steam between them. And things get even better when the rest of Jericho’s team (and the women they love) come into the picture, picking up speed, and adding some great character interactions and fun banter.

The overall series arc surrounding Project Phoenix continues to pick up speed, with new players, and some interesting twists and turns. The balance between these love stories and the overall arc is great, and I’m really looking forward to see where everything goes from here.

Jericho is becoming to powerful and the people behind Project Phoenix cannot control him. Now he needs to be taken care of. Sydney, a neighbor Jericho has tried staying away from, finds herself locked in a room with, involved in his trouble. The two need to find a way to make it out before his time is up.

This was by far the best book in the series. I loved Jericho and his connection with Sydney. It was believable and he was so sweet with her.
I liked that we got a story about what happens when the reactivated men get too powerful and have to be eliminated. We seen what happened with Jonah, but didn't really get much story to that. This story line really makes the series that much better.

The author provided a copy of the book, this is my honest review.

Reactivated: Jericho is another thrilling book in the Project Phoenix series. It is action-packed and full of suspense! It delves deeper into Project Phoenix and the players behind it, and the team gets closer to putting the pieces together and putting an end to the project forever.

Each one of the heroes in this series is my favorite for different reasons, and Jericho is no exception. His special power when reactivated is the coolest! While Sydney is younger than Jericho, her courage and spirit make her the perfect match for our PP hero. There’s plenty of chemistry and steam, and a wonderful connection between them.

I loved seeing more of the team - especially Aidan and Cassian. I’m excited to see the rest of the series unfold and learn more about the rest of the team and the extraordinary women they will fall for.

Jericho and Sydney

This book is action packed, suspenseful and steamy. Jericho and his beautiful neighbor, Sydney, get kidnapped and he’s determined to keep her safe and keep his hands off her. She is 7 years younger and too good for him. Sydney is determined to get her man and make sure Jericho is safe after he uses his special powers. Oh and we can’t forget Syd’s father The General who hates Jericho, the bad guy who’s a woman and all the men of his team and their women.
