Wow that was amazing! Such an amazing volume, it was hard to stop after each chapter and that’s how I know it was great. I love the Azuma family and this small arc was very entertaining and had a good amount of fanservice. Some of those scenes had som great perspectives and designs, very sexy. So much action too. This is definitely coming into its own now and starting to do more what I’ve thought would make it amazing; more action and more breasts/nipples, this volume had those and pushed more intriguing details to the story. Next volume will be even better I believe!

So happy how this volume turned out.

A strong volume with a very intrueging last panel!

A whole tankoubon of Chained Soldier gave Himari Azuma her moment to shine as a warrior all up the way to the end, overcoming her odds as the "runt" of her family. Character development was well paced, and I always like it when each main character in a long-running plot-driven series gets his/her big moments, showcasing how one evolves as the story progresses. And yes, sexy moments (including Yuuki and Himari having another sexy love moment) are still in place to help things stay fresh. Hopefully, Shushu gets her grand moment, but for now, here's to excitement for tankoubon 9 to see what stakes come next.

Just after I finished telling my friend about how consistent this series has been, I get my first real slump volume. There is still some big hype moments here, but the whole Azuma family arc really didn't land for me. It might just be a case of character saturation after the recent introduction of all the commanders a few volumes ago, introducing a whole nother slew of girls maybe wasn't needed. I would have been more interested in Himari doing something in the field that gains her mother's respect, rather than a rather frivolous family battle royal.

The Azuma family arc is here. The designs of the characters are really awesome, but it felt sped through. Which isn’t bad because the ending of this volume feels super hype! Excited for volume 9.

Oh man this volume is fire! The Azuma clan is crazy. To see what Himari can potentially do, that was awesome! Looking forward to seeing her develop in the future!
