Mia Donovan isn't interested in a relationship, she's too busy opening her cat shelter and rescuing floofy balls of fur. Being a bridesmaid is just a blip on her horizon.
Bryce Murphy has no plans to change his bachelor lifestyle, but is willing to stand up as the best man for a good friend.
In the chaos of plans gone awry, it's up to the bridesmaid and the best man to come up with a strategy to get it all back on track. In the midst of disaster, love strikes two hearts.
Can eight cats, a feline allergy, and a photo shoot gone wrong bring Mia and Bryce together forever?
This was such a romantic, sweet story! I loved the sense of closeness in Mia’s family. The Boston setting was fun and Mia’s cousin’s wedding was a wonderful backdrop for the romance to blossom between Mia and Bryce.
Both Mia and Bryce were recovering from some relationship heartache, especially Bryce, after the catastrophe that his first marriage became. I liked the way Mia and Bryce were drawn to each other right away, yet as they began to talk and share and get to know each other, it was clear that there was something special developing between them.
I enjoyed this Christmas story from start to finish and I hope to see a story for Mia’s brother, Finn, some time in the future.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
This was a good, traditional Christian love story about second chances. Bryce and Mia met at a wedding right before Christmas. Bryce was the best man and Mia the maid of honor and they hit it off right away. Even so, as they fall in love, they do their best to honor Christ. Through all the trials as their relationship develops, they rely on Jesus. My disconnect with the story comes from the title and the cover art. It made me expect more about cats and I also thought it would be lighthearted with a strong dose of humor. Nope on both counts. The cats, in a way, are the villains in this story. As a cat lover, that didn't set well. And nothing in the story will make you chuckle. On the plus, it is a sweet and God-honoring romance. If that's what you're looking for, you will be delighted by this well-written love story.
Eight Cats of Christmas is the epitome of inspirational romance. Mia and Bryce fall in love almost from the very first page. Their relationship is adorable and seemingly without problems until halfway through the story. A best man prank, a “cat”astrophic photo shoot, and a surprise nemesis keep things interesting. The characters are lovable, and it’s easy to root for their happily-ever-after. The secondary characters are also enjoyable – I can’t help hoping we hear more from Mia’s brother Finn – he could use a happily-ever-after of his own. And for those who aren’t cat people, don’t worry – dogs are welcome (and loved) in this story!
Erin Stevenson has written an entertaining story of love, marriage, and cats. It’s a lighthearted tale of two people, Mia and Bryce, who meet at their best friends’ wedding and everything changes. For them, it’s love at first sight, Almost too good to be true. And therein lies the problem. A situation they may never be able to overcome keeps them apart. This story is uplifting and encouraging. A really fun read about love, family, and overcoming. Perfect for the Christmas season.
Erin Stevenson puts sparkle and sparks in this Christmas themed romance. Weddings are the perfect venue to set up a romance, but Stevenson adds dimension to her characters and brings a heartfelt conclusion to her stories. I liked that Mia and Bryce kept God at the center of their relationship. I also liked the pet angle that weaves through this story. Another winner for your Christmas novella collection.
I’m a dog rather than a cat person so was surprised the story zeroed in on romance rather than the animals. I have to admit this was a cute, enjoyable read. Especially the romance. And a terrific wedding eve prank had me giggling. Mia is tickled to have Bryce around to help open her animal shelter. Then disaster. Bryce is allergic to cats. Another fly drops into the cream, but they work it out. All episodes proceed for deeper romance. Sigh. A very satisfying ending.
Boston, Mia Donovan loves cats, has a lovely family and many projects for her future. At her cousin's wedding, Mia meet Bryce and "Something has happened between you and me this weekend". "He thanked God for looking out for him" I relate with Bryce for his illness, because it's mine too. Nice, easy to read, entertaining, realistic story. You can read easily the book at Christmas time and during all the year. Thank to let me read this book to: author, editor, Interview&Review.
Loved this one and didn't see the curve ball coming either. Mia and Bryce meet when they are bridesmaid and best man and simply don't look back. Neither is looking for love, but it seems God has other plans for them both.
