These cute pups are in big trucks and ready to dig! Book two of this original board book series is perfect for toddlers with big building dreams.
Dig Doug, Puddles, and Cheddar are ready for a big day at puppy school. Today they have an extra big project—using their construction trucks to dig a swimming pool! Dig Doug is so happy because Dig Doug LOVES to dig. But when he digs a bit too deep, his puppy friends must figure out a plan to save him.

I liked that this book has a decently long story and adventure. There were some tongue twisters when it came to Dig Dug digging with his green digger 😅😅
I love this series. Even though I am a cat person, I love the pups and their patient teacher, Miss Polly. Although they are dogs, they remind me a lot of a combination of my two and five-year-old and I couldn’t help but laugh at some of the dialog that my kids literally say themselves (“that hole is mean!”) and then laugh some more as my kids laugh at it too. It is a favorite at bedtime and since Cheddar is a corgi, if I ever have a corgi, I now feel required to call them Cheddar. A great series for kiddos who love dogs or construction vehicles (the first book is great too!).
This book is much better than the Great Truck Switcheroo. I feel toddler spirit coming from these pups. I love how Cheddar runs around and bark to try to solve a problem, and I appreciate that Dig Doug got himself into some trouble, but then all three puppies brainstorm together to get Dig Doug unstuck. Only critique is that Dig Doug thinks he's a bad puppy; Miss Polly helpfully says he's a good puppy. This is nice, but I think we're now avoiding absolutes and instead focusing on specific actions. Which she kind of does on the next page. Speaking of pages, this is a long book, but the plot is compelling, so it holds attention.
Another board book in the Adurable series that features puppies doing construction work. In this story, Dig Doug does not listen when he is warned about digging a hole too deep. A sweet story with construction vehicles with a gentle message about cooperation and listening.
It's not a marketing ploy, these pups are adorable. Another sweet title in the series, where pups sometimes get overexcited and don't listen as well as they should, and their ever-patient teacher gently steers them right.
Puppies work together to solve a problem and learn the value of being good listeners in this cute and clever little story for young construction enthusiasts.
