I really liked the Linear series, but the Zodiac series didn't really work for me. Since this one was a combo of both, there was some history that was missing, but overall I was able to catch on to what was going on.
I felt for Jenna. If I had gone through what she did, I wouldn't feel safe outside either. I liked that Mark really got that about her and did what he could to help her through the times she needed to be outside. Mark had his own issues, ones I was glad that he shared with Jenna. The two of them were well suited for each other.
Jenna was so wicked smart it was crazy how fast she was able to figure things out. It was funny to see Mark in the role as her keeper. Kept her feed, brought her coffee, helped her get from one place to another, basically freed her up to just focus on the work. If only we all had a keeper like this. It was fun to see their relationship evolve, for them to act on the attraction and want something really real at the end. It also ended up being a bad thing too as the bad guy exploited things between them. The only thing that really saved them was Jenna's wicked smarts! She worked the system, doing what was needed, knowing it could be turned against them and getting a message for help. Those little things helped save the day and save themselves.
I liked how this one ended, liked seeing how happy Jenna and Mark were and how their friends altered things so Jenna could fit in.

Sad to see the Linear Tactical series end. Again. ;) This felt like a bonus revisit to some familiar friends and family. I appreciated that both the hero and heroine had some serious personal challenges to overcome, but I loved seeing how they made their relationship work. Plus, the bad guys are pretty bad--but you know they'll outsmart, out-endure, out-fight them in the end.
I haven't read all the Zodiac Tactical books, and this one is a crossover. While I could easily follow Mark and Jenna's story, clearly I've missed some backstory by not sticking with the Zodiac books. There is also crossover mention of the Resting Warrior Ranch series Ms. Crouch writes with Josie Jade. I haven't read those, but again, it doesn't detract from the main story if you haven't read all three series. I'm sure it enriches the reading experience if you have.

I love a tragic backstory and Jenna's is a doozy! She has agoraphobia and PTSD but she is still strong and smart! Mark is the perfect guy for her-supportive but not smothering! The book deals with some heavy topics (human trafficking, kidnapping), but its not gratuitous. Mark and Jenna were perfect and I loved seeing the LT gang. Jenna earns her HEA for sure!

Code Name: OUTLAW is the cherry on top of the fantastic sundae that combines the worlds of Linear and Zodiac Tactical and the amazing supporting characters in both series.
Aside from the star characters in this book - Jenna Franklin and Mark Outlawson, we also get to revisit many favorites from both series. Crouch goes all in and pulls no punches with this final installment in this fifteen-book series. OUTLAW ends the series with an outstanding emotionally- and adrenaline-charged conclusion that you do not want to miss. Whether you’ve read other books in the Linear and Zodiac Tactical series, you need to read this book. It has the perfect combination of great characters, an amazing storyline, action, danger, suspense, sexy times, and a strong hero and heroine you will cheer for until the end. It’s a heartbreaking, heartwarming, beautiful read.
We first meet Jenna Franklin briefly in Linear Tactical book six, SHADOW where she has been held captive by a madman for about a year. Though she appears throughout the Zodiac Tactical series, Code Name: VIRGO is the next crucial piece of the puzzle related to her, her trauma, and outcome connecting to Code Name: OUTLAW. For Mark Outlawson, whom we also previously meet in Linear Tactical book seven, EHCO where he’s the head security for music superstar, Cade Conner. Mark also appears in other Zodiac Tactical books. You do not have to read any of these other books to understand and follow OUTLAW, it can completely stand alone with no confusion. If you would like to read them together to provide more insight into the overall dynamics and players involved, I would suggest SHADOW and VIRGO, since they connect directly to Jenna. ECHO bares no connection to OUTLAW directly.
This is an excellent story in every way! Jenna and Mark each have their own battles to fight solo and together as they work to dismantle a madman’s operation and keep Jenna and countless innocents safe. I love, love, love how Mark and Jenna work together and how Mark truly is her hero – helping her in the ways he does. It’s completely teary-eyed beautiful. They are both broken, scarred, and more but their communication, connection, determination, and love for each other make them a wonderful team.
Get ready for the edge-of-your-seat rollercoaster ride that will leave you breathless, desperately flipping pages, shedding tears, shouting for joy, and seriously wishing there was more to come.

Mark and Jenna’s story is the end of my favorite romantic suspense series and what a way to go!
Jenna is wicked smart, willing to lend a helping hand whenever, and refuses to cave to her mental demons. Jenna suffers from agoraphobia along with heavy PTSD from her kidnapping. She feels she has regressed, believing she has lost any ground she originally gained in dealing with her fear of outdoors. Except for Mark, her friends don’t know how much she’s struggling because she hasn’t let on, but Mark inadvertently witnessed her loss of control and while he’s aware she struggles, even he doesn’t know just how deeply she was traumatized.
Mark, aka Outlaw, can hold his own with Jenna and this man’s support of her made my heart sigh with happiness! He’s got his own set of smarts and struggles that seems understated yet no less compelling. When paired with Jenna’s? I can’t think of a situation they can’t logic out of because they’re survivors. He’s also a great sounding board for Jenna and I loved that he doesn’t hesitate to play brawn to her smarts when the situation requires it!
Jenna and Mark’s relationship is a humdrum of attraction and emotions! I have to admit I loved and appreciate that they had a friendship of sorts that evolved in to a romance! If the story had been a case of insta-lustiness, the impact of Jenna and Mark’s feelings would not have been as believable or as strongly felt, which was needed for this book’s delivery— and Janie nailed it with the intensity of sooo many feels!
While Outlaw wraps up an engrossing human trafficking storyline told over multiple books, the characters are what I always come back for! Jenna deserved an HEA and I am thrilled with how everything ended up working out. Her tale isn’t easy, yet reflects her grit and determination, as well as a vulnerability to ask for help when she knew her pride didn’t want her to. If you think about it, learning to compensate, compromise, and adjust is all a person can ever ask for in any situation. Something the LT characters have shown time and time again.
The Linear Tactical series has everything from wild suspense and smexy romances, to friends for life and families forever… so many wonderful tales! Thank you, Janie for endless hours of escape!

Bittersweet only in that it is the final chapter of the truly wonderful Linear Tactical series, Codename Outlaw is certainly an emotionally charged finale. While you could read it as a stand-alone why would you when you would get so much more out of this excellent story simply by reading the whole of both the Linear & Zodiac Tactical books first.
Brilliant bioengineer / computer genius Jenna Franklin lives her life in a constant battle with her mental demons, surviving as best she can within the confines of crippling agoraphobia and PTSD caused by her kidnapping & torture a few years previously by abductors desperate to get their hands on her work with chemical subjectification & gene editing and use it for truly evil means. Jenna feels like she is regressing and losing the battle with her sanity following an incident when her fears were brutally used against her, she ruthlessly keeps her struggles hidden from her friends.
Mark (Outlaw) Outlawson, Zodiac Tactical security specialist understands Jenna’s constant struggle far better than she could imagine having witnessed her meltdown although he has no idea just how deep her trauma goes. He too is struggling with a life changing condition that threatens his ability to do his job and means he must think long and hard about his future.
When Jenna’s work resurfaces and is being put to deadly use she and Mark work together to unravel the clues and take down those responsible. Jenna doesn’t see herself as strong but she is, pushing herself to her absolute limits in the attempt to get answers and save lives. Mark works so hard to try and make things just a little easier for her to cope with, theirs started as a friendship of sorts and grew into a relationship of so much more. Their understanding of one another is deep and each soothes the other’s soul, their strengths complement one another.
This story is hard at times, it doesn’t pull punches over Jenna’s debilitating struggle but there is also a bead of special in Mark & Jenna’s relationship that makes you believe they can overcome anything.
An engrossing & intriguing storyline, plenty of action & suspense, deeply satisfying number of guest appearances from so many favourite characters appearing - I loved the story, it pulled me in, tugged my heart & made me smile at the end, so yes a very bittersweet but completing fitting & satisfying conclusion to Janie Crouch’s brilliant series.

Code Name: Outlaw is the Linear/Zodiac Tactical crossover of two of my favorite series by this author. This is Jenna and Mark’s story; it was suspense-driven and action-packed as all that came before. We have seen Jenna throughout both series and I remember thinking I really wanted her story. She had gone through so much so I really wanted to see her get her happily ever after. In her story, we finally see the true extent of her agoraphobia, and my heart broke for her so much more. No one really knows how severely her kidnapping had affected her except for Mark, aka Outlaw, Outlawson, he had witnessed her at her lowest and he has never been able to get her out of his mind.
Their story really takes off when the FBI comes around asking the Linear Tactical team and Jenna for help on a human trafficking ring. This specific mission is relevant to Jenna because the methods used relate to projects Jenna was forced to create while she was kidnapped. As scared as Jenna was to get involved, especially if it means going outside, she knew she had to do whatever she can to help and Mark was as determined to be right by her side.
Like in pretty much all of this author’s books, this book had me at the edge of my seat throughout. The suspense of finally ending this human trafficking ring and knowing one or the other was going to go through some trauma had me on pins and needles. I also loved watching the developing relationship between Jenna and Mark, they were perfect for each other. Overall, this was another fantastic read.

Oh my! this was fabulous! I loved to see more of Jenna and understand her better , Mark is wonderful with her even when he has troubles himself he put Jenna first and it was lovely to see them interract like that.
Someone is using Jenna work to create human robots to do illegal things and die if caught ....who or what goal is still a mystery but no matter how hard it is for Jenna she is determined to help the victims and stop the culprit. Only Mark understands what Jenna is going through and he is determined to protect her, it could be his last assignement but he will protect her and her secret at all cost .
It's so great perfectly balanced between the romance and the action as well as the investigation, i loved to see precedent characters or hear about them all along the story. It could not have been better. A great way to end the series with a HEA and an even better one in the bonus epilogue.
Not to be missed but better read in order as the whole series is wonderful!

Last in the series
This was a perfect way to close this series. I've been invested in Jenna since the first time she appeared. She's a key part to taking down their enemies. Mark has had a soft spot for this delicate woman. But Jenna is anything but. She has her demons she's fighting and he is determined, to make sure she is safe and at peace most, if not all the time.
Together they're trying to make sure, nobody suffers like she did in the hands of bad people. She is pushed out of her comfort zone and when things heat up, she knows, she needs to put her fears aside and do everything that see can to help Mark and herself out of trouble.
This book kept me glued to the screen, and I'm honestly sad to see this series end!

It's safety and heat, passion, protection and acceptance
Jenna and Mark are both struggling with their own demons but this gives them understanding of the other. And they know that together they are stronger, they support each other, protect each other and shield each other. But together they can also solve any puzzle and are able to stop the scariest of minds and most evil of people.

Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down - not unusual for a Janie Crouch book! Code Name: Outlaw is a crossover story between the Linear and Zodiac Tactical books. Mark Outlawson, code name Outlaw, works for Zodiac Tactical and helps the team at Linear Tactical when needed. Almost two years earlier, he had participated in taking down a human trafficking ring, which is where he met Jenna Franklin. He has never forgotten her.
Jenna is a brilliant bioengineer and computer genius. She was kidnapped, tortured, and forced to create a method of chemical subjugation and gene editing. Since her rescue, she has suffered from debilitating PTSD and agoraphobia to the point where she can't leave her home. Even her Linear Tactical friends in Oak Creek don't know the extent of her suffering as she never talks about it. Jenna feels her condition is worsening after her fears were brutally used against her. She has begun to question her sanity.
The story begins when the FBI sends one of its agents to Oak Creek to request help from Linear Tactical and Jenna. A new human trafficking ring is using Jenna's methods in a new and deadly way, and they need Jenna's help to stop them. I loved this scene, as the LT team doesn't care for this agent and gives him an especially "warm" welcome. Dorian and Ray made me laugh out loud with their pointed attention. I ached for Jenna as she forced herself out of her safe haven to the Eagle's Nest to deal with the issue. As terrified as she is to get involved, Jenna knows she has to help, or she won't be able to live with herself.
Over the past year and a half, Mark has become friends with Jenna. He understands her fears after seeing her condition when she was rescued. Over time, his feelings for her have deepened, but he knows she isn't ready to hear it. When he learns what is required of her, Mark is determined to give her all the support she needs. I loved seeing the depth of his caring as he took extraordinary steps to help Jenna with her fears. Using a mobile lab and command center provided by Mark's boss at Zodiac Tactical, Mark and Jenna race against time to unravel the clues, stop the deaths, and prevent a terrorist plot.
I loved watching the relationship develop between Jenna and Mark. His love for Jenna is evident from the get-go, and his patience and understanding won my heart. Jenna realizes that her feelings for Mark are deeper than friendship but believes that Mark would grow to resent the severity of her agoraphobia. I loved watching him chip away at her fears with his understanding. Mark also has his demons to fight, ones that mean the end of the life he has now. We see his fears and frustrations as he struggles to keep his problems from impacting their mission. When everything was over, I loved how Mark's vision helped Jenna see the possibilities of a future together. The two epilogues were fantastic, and I loved the look at their future happiness.
The suspense of the story was intense from start to finish. Right on their heels are those who want to stop her from finding the antidote and force her to complete the project to their satisfaction. The twists and turns kept me glued to the pages through the final confrontation. I felt Jenna's terror when they were captured; she had to choose between helping the bad guys and seeing them kill Mark. I loved her ingenuity in finding the perfect solution. There were some scarily intense moments before it was all over, but it was all worth it.
While the Linear Tactical series has now come to its official end, I expect we will continue to see various characters in other books. The LT and ZT teams are such good friends (and being intermarried) that it would be hard to separate the two completely. I'd also like to see Callum get his own story.
Jenna is a brilliant bioengineer and computer genius. She was kidnapped, tortured, and forced to create a method of chemical subjugation and gene editing. Since her rescue, she has suffered from debilitating PTSD and agoraphobia to the point where she can't leave her home. Even her Linear Tactical friends in Oak Creek don't know the extent of her suffering as she never talks about it. Jenna feels her condition is worsening after her fears were brutally used against her. She has begun to question her sanity.
The story begins when the FBI sends one of its agents to Oak Creek to request help from Linear Tactical and Jenna. A new human trafficking ring is using Jenna's methods in a new and deadly way, and they need Jenna's help to stop them. I loved this scene, as the LT team doesn't care for this agent and gives him an especially "warm" welcome. Dorian and Ray made me laugh out loud with their pointed attention. I ached for Jenna as she forced herself out of her safe haven to the Eagle's Nest to deal with the issue. As terrified as she is to get involved, Jenna knows she has to help, or she won't be able to live with herself.
Over the past year and a half, Mark has become friends with Jenna. He understands her fears after seeing her condition when she was rescued. Over time, his feelings for her have deepened, but he knows she isn't ready to hear it. When he learns what is required of her, Mark is determined to give her all the support she needs. I loved seeing the depth of his caring as he took extraordinary steps to help Jenna with her fears. Using a mobile lab and command center provided by Mark's boss at Zodiac Tactical, Mark and Jenna race against time to unravel the clues, stop the deaths, and prevent a terrorist plot.
I loved watching the relationship develop between Jenna and Mark. His love for Jenna is evident from the get-go, and his patience and understanding won my heart. Jenna realizes that her feelings for Mark are deeper than friendship but believes that Mark would grow to resent the severity of her agoraphobia. I loved watching him chip away at her fears with his understanding. Mark also has his demons to fight, ones that mean the end of the life he has now. We see his fears and frustrations as he struggles to keep his problems from impacting their mission. When everything was over, I loved how Mark's vision helped Jenna see the possibilities of a future together. The two epilogues were fantastic, and I loved the look at their future happiness.

Wow , bloody marvelous !!!!
Mark and Jenna’s story is the end of one of my favorite romantic suspense series and what a way to go , going to miss this group of friends

They are trying to stop Joachim, who is using people as robots, who die when they are caught committing a crime.
I was gutted when Mark was unable to catch the “robot” in the hospital and had to hear the female agent bring him down.I wanted to hug him so tight at that moment.
Mark and Jenna are survivors , the story line had my emotions up and down , there was not a moment that I wanted to put the book down, I had to read till the end .
I had to wait a couple days before this review , still reeling from the emotions Mark and Jenna caused.
The date had me smiling. I really enjoyed the way Mark helped Jenna to also be part of everyday living.
The epilogue that is 10 years later? Double whammy , I absolutely love Happy ever afters , and also to follow friends turning into family.

Wowza!! Talk about hanging onto edge of your seat. Code Name: Outlaw is full of fast paced action and riveting suspense. Being that it's the finale of the Linear Tactical series, it definitely goes out on a high note. Let me tell you there a number of hold your breath moments and some that will keep you guessing. There are also highly charged emotions in play that will tug at your heartstrings. Mark "Outlaw" Outlawson and Jenna Franklin team up to thwart a sinister plot. As they hopscotch the country in search of answers and develop solutions members of Zodiac Tactical and Omega Sector provide support and backup. The duo are on a countdown to find a remedy to a plan for what could lead to global ramifications. No pressure there!

I couldn't wait to finally read Mark and Jenna's story and, of course, Janie Crouch delivered! With some of my favorite tropes and the intense attraction between Mark and Jenna all in one book, I was reading the whole book like this
It's been a few years since Jenna was held hostage for almost 2 years by a madman looking to use her gift for evil. She's made Oak Creek her home and haven, largely thanks to her Linear Tactical friends, but Jenna is still fighting a battle no one knows about. After all this time, her agoraphobia hasn't gotten better, it's gotten worse. Only one person knows the ugly truth of her fragile mental state - Zodiac agent, Mark Outlawson.
Outlaw is definitely my book boyfriend of the month. He's not only an alpha male, but my FAVORITE kind of alpha male. He knew how to handle his business, protect his loved ones, and support his woman, but also knew when to push and when to take a backseat. I loved seeing his protective side, but my favorite part was seeing how supportive he was of Jenna. He didn't let his ego or instincts stop her from leading because they're on the same team and he knew he had to let her make necessary sacrifices the same way she had to do for him.
Jenna is not only crazy smart, funny (in a nerdy way lol), and sweet, but she was relatable. Most readers have a phobia of some form (I just hope it's not as traumatizing as hers). My fear of dogs was so deep, I'd legit almost have a heart attack when people even said the WORD dog. I've done some creative things to get away from dogs.
Crouch didn't pull any punches when showing how debilitating these issues can be. Some people think therapy and time heals all and that's not true, so the honesty was refreshing to read.
Together, they get each other so well. She understands his struggle with shifting away from active duty and he understood her agoraphobia and the reality that it'll never fully go away. They both learned to adjust and be strong where the other was weak. They have an extreme amount of trust and respect for one another and it showed every step of the way. And the way they got each other's jokes and love language without words was so cute.
Seeing as this is the 15th book in the Linear Tactical series and the unofficial 5th book of the Zodiac Tactical series, there were many cameos and details referencing previous events, but Janie Crouch perfectly incorporated them into the story. I was seriously impressed with the way she wrote about the complexities of this plot. I mean, we're talking about some serious stuff, but she explained it well. I felt like I was reading programming and world domination for dummies.
She also did a stellar job of making the reader feel every bit of emotion in this story. The intense attraction between Jenna and Mark was almost palpable. I was transported into these characters. When they laughed, I laughed. When they cried, I cried. When Jenna was on the brink of a panic attack, I was breathing heavy right along with her. A perfect read with a perfect couple to end a phenomenal series.
P.S. I did not know that this was the end of the Linear Tactical series until I got to the last page. I was not emotionally prepared for that. I'm still in mourning, not gonna lie, but her other series are great and her upcoming releases sound amazing.

Code Name: Outlaw is the final book in the Linear Tactical series. It is also a crossover between the linear tactical and zodiac tactical series, which means we get to spend time with some of our favorite characters from previous books. Outlaw is a phenomenal story that focuses on Jenna Franklin and Mark Outlawson, code name Outlaw. Both characters are extremely smart and suffer from disabilities they try to keep hidden from those around them. Jenna suffers from agoraphobia a condition that has only become worse since her time trapped in the clutches of a madman. She now also suffers from PTSD as a result of the abuse she suffered during her captivity. No one realizes the extent of emotional trauma Jenna is suffering through except for Mark who witnessed her panic firsthand. Mark is also suffering from his own disability, which happens to be peripheral neuropathy. He knows it is only a matter of time before his disability progresses enough that he will be unable to continue to be a part of the Zodiac team and all his friends will learn of his disability, but he also knows disability or not his friends will always be there for him. This is one thing he tries to help Jenna see throughout the book. Mark and Jenna have an immediate attraction to each other but its not one of those insta-love situations. The two start off as friends and eventually become lovers, one of my all time favorite tropes in a book. These two quickly became two of my favorite characters from the series. I loved how strong Jenna was even though I feel like she did not give herself enough credit. She worked so hard to overcome her fears, even though there were times she felt like she couldn't make it she continued to push herself and too me that takes a lot of strength. I also believe we all need a Mark in our life. Mark was fully aware of Jenna's emotional state, he understood and excepted her for who she was, with no desire to change her only be there to support her in whatever way she needed. Reading their story was like being on an emotional roller coaster ride, but worth every moment. I am so sad the series is coming to an end but I couldn't have thought of a better ending. Thank you Janie for building such an amazing world full of wonderful characters and sharing your stories with us.

I don’t even know how to start this review knowing this is the final book in the Linear Tactical Series, I know everything comes to an end but still it’s a little sad. I will not let that stop me from giving my honest opinion on this book……to start with I LOVED IT!
Jenna Franklin is this amazing, smart, brilliant woman who has a debilitating fear of the outside world. She had been handling her fear pretty well until some truly heinous men decided to se it against her. They forced her to create some truly awful drugs in order to try and gain power and control. With her brilliant mind she does a lot of the tech stuff for Zodiac Tactical, but she hates how she was used to create something that ultimately destroys innocent people. Power hungry men always want all the power and will do anything to achieve it, even forcing someone out of hiding just to capture them.
Mark Outlawson is one of the best of the Zodiac Tactical team however fate has him facing the fact that he’s human and forcing a change to his life. While his attraction for the beautiful Jenna has him back in Oak Creek, he’s also enjoying some downtime with the Linear Tactical Team and his boss Ian DeRose but that doesn’t last long. Mark will do whatever it takes to protect Jenna, and hope that he’s able to that is until his secret must be made known. The secret that is forcing him to make major changes, but maybe it was Fate’s plan all along so that Jenna and Outlaw could find their way.
Fate sometimes puts us in extremely terrifying situations just to make us see how strong we truly are and how much family surrounds us. Jenna and Outlaw learn that even if you have a debilitating fear or a life changing situation you’re still worthy of love and family! Like I said I’m sad this series has come to an end but the best part about books are they can be read over and over again. We can always revisit our favorite town, and our favorite sexy alpha men and their strong beautiful women. This book had me holding my iPad close and wanting to throw it as well. I will say there was some really good funny moments, hot steamy moments but my favorite was just two beautiful souls falling in love.

The last installment of Janie Crouch’s Linear Tactical series does not disappoint. Jenna Franklin is a genius who developed a “scientific weapon” which changes the DNA make up of human beings. She did this not to cause harm, but it causes its victims to alter what they know to be ‘normal.’ These ‘robots’ are being used by nefarious evil people. She had been held captive by one, now residing in prison, but she was held and forced to develop this new ‘human weapon’. Plus she is terrified to be outside…. Literally. Her homes are all protected with the highest security capabilities she has designed herself. Her friend believe she is introverted, as she is too afraid to tell them the truth. Now, the newest evil-doer is on the hunt for her. She is living in Oak Creek, Wyoming, home to Linear Tactical’s Headquarters. LT has been known to work with Ian DeRose’s Zodiac Tactical securities. Mark Outlawson, “Outlaw” has been a good friend to LT in addition to ZT. He ha been attracted to the shy Jenna since she was rescued. And he is determined to protect her at all costs. Slight problem.. or problems.. he has neuropathy in his legs which hit in inappropriate times. And he has to cross the barriers Jenna has erected. The last installment of Janie Crouch’s Linear Tactical series does not disappoint. Jenna Franklin is a genius who developed a “scientific weapon” which changes the DNA make up of human beings. She did this not to cause harm, but it causes its victims to alter what they know to be ‘normal.’ These ‘robots’ are being used by nefarious evil people. She had been held captive by one, now residing in prison, but she was held and forced to develop this new ‘human weapon’. Plus she is terrified to be outside…. Literally. Her homes are all protected with the highest security capabilities she has designed herself. Her friend believe she is introverted, as she is too afraid to tell them the truth. Now, the newest evil-doer is on the hunt for her. She is living in Oak Creek, Wyoming, home to Linear Tactical’s Headquarters. LT has been known to work with Ian DeRose’s Zodiac Tactical securities. Mark Outlawson, “Outlaw” has been a good friend to LT in addition to ZT. He ha been attracted to the shy Jenna since she was rescued. And he is determined to protect her at all costs. Slight problem.. or problems.. he has neuropathy in his legs which hit in inappropriate times. And he has to cross the barriers Jenna has erected. Can she learn to overcome her fears and trust enough to break through them? Will she let Mark help her? Will Mar be able to keep her safe?
Once again, Janie Crouch has given her loyal fans of this series and Zodiac witty, conflicted, honest, compassionate, thoughtful, warm, humorous characters. Some we already know…HINT: start with Book one..Zac and Anne… readers will have their hearts broken as they come to learn about Jenna’s all to familiar fears. And Mark? The flawed hero readers will want to save. The conflicts are real. Somewhere evil masterminds lurk and live amongst us. Can these warriors save us all?

I have so many feelings about this book but I am going to boil it down to my top 3.
First, I was just touched and amazed at the amount of respect in how Jenna's condition is handled. I wasn't surprised Janie Crouch did such an amazing job because she has always shown this kind of consideration to PTSD in her books, but nonetheless I want to mention it. So many people just don't really understand PTSD. They don't get that it can be caused by so many different things and you can't just get over it. I myself have a mild case when it comes to water as a result of drowning as child. Today I can get into a pool or the ocean, but if that water gets up to my chin or heaven forbid over my head I cannot stop the panic attack. Seeing the care at which we experience Jenna's feeling and trauma was touching. I loved how Marc gets it and stands by her. Just wonderful.
Second, I love how we get glimpses of other characters from many of Janie Crouch's other books. Whether by just a reference or by having them play a small part in this story, it's wonderful to feel that connection for those of us who have read all her other works. Also wonderful is that I can tell that even if you didn't read the other books, you would still be able to understand the connections and feel the comradery. It makes the stories more grounded for me, as if these were real places and people.
Finally, just so sad this is the end of this particular series. I mean it was definitely a wonderful romance and suspenseful way to bring Jenna and Marc together and wrap everything up. However I didn't want it to end. Honestly I read this straight through, as I often do with Janie Crouch's books, but even though this was a beautifully crafted book I really felt like the time flew and then suddenly it was over and i just wanted it to keep going. Keep this story going, and the entire series as well.
If you are searching for a romantic, touching, suspenseful read then look no further than this book! You won't be disappointed. Just keep some tissues with you just in case.

This is Jenna, the bioengineer/computer wiz, and Mark Outlawson (Outlaw)’s story. The subject matter for their story is unsettling. Evil doers that are capable of turning innocent victims into virtual “robots” unable to control their own thoughts and actions only to do the bidding of one evil individual. Injection of a so called “ subjectification” compound to create genetic modification is used in this process. Unfortunately, Jenna, while being held captive early on was forced to create this compound.
The hunt for the evil doer is the premise for this story. As per usual, a series of events unfold and we witness the relationship between Mark and Jenna grow. For me, their chemistry was somewhat lackluster. I just didn’t get the “feels” I need to acquire in order to get fully invested in the romance end of the story. That being said I admired Mark for his understanding of Jenna’s agoraphobia that resulted from her captivity. For her it was truly life altering but Mark was more than willing to adapt his life to accommodate her needs. Admirable!
Most of the angst occurs toward the end of this story and some “edge of your seat” moments unfolded, some of which was a little over the top. There is an expected satisfying conclusion with an epilogue that delves 10 years in the future. All in all I’m glad I read this story because I admired Outlaw from a previous story. Janie Crouch is a gifted storyteller and I’ve had many memorable reads from this author. Even for gifted writers, not every book hits ALL the buttons for every reader.

This book is part of the Zodiac and Linear Tactical series. Jenna Franklin is agoraphobic and has been regressing since what happened months ago. She has been through so much already and then to be put through what she was again is horrible. She doesn’t let her friends know what is really going on with her. But, Outlaw sees. He sees everything about Jenna. He wants to be there for her and help her. Then she is faced with what happened to her once more. She is asked to help stop the people connected to her original kidnapping. She was forced to do awful things while they held her. Now those things she was forced to do are being used on other people. Can she face what happened to her and help? She feels like what is happening to these people is her fault. Outlaw is going to do everything in his power to help Jenna. To show her that what is happening isn’t her fault. She did what she needed to to survive. Will Jenna open herself up to what Outlaw wants, what she wants herself. Or will she keep herself closed off and drowning in guilt? I can’t get enough of these characters. Outlaw and Jenna both have things they aren’t telling their friends. Parts of themselves that they wish were different. Jenna wishes she could go outside and Outlaw’s body if failing him. They manage to find a connection and do everything they can for each other. Your relationship doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s. Just as long as it works for the people in the relationship. Outlaw will find a way to show Jenna they can have a future even if she never is able to go outside again. The people of Oak Creek are amazing. I love that characters from other books make appearances in all the books. Janie is a phenomenal author. She is a must-read author for me. I don’t even read the blurb anymore I just dive in. Congrats on another amazing book Janie.

Code Name: Outlaw is the fifth book in the Zodiac Tactical series, and is connected to the Linear Tactical series. Jenna has severe PTSD after her time being captured and tortured, but when there’s a new connection of her work to new “robots,” Jenna is forced to face her fears. But she’s not alone. Mark can’t help but want to keep Jenna safe, physically and mentally, but can they face a future together as they fight the dangers and mystery of the robots?
Oh wow, this book completely sucked me in and didn’t let go until it was over! It was such a ride, full of emotions and fighting to survive and thrive! I loved Jenna and Mark together! I love the ways their little broken bits fit against each other, the ways they could help heal the pain, and their compassion and understanding for the suffering they’ve gone through. Jenna is so strong. She’s brave and confident in her strengths, but I loved her vulnerabilities and fears, too. Although in the end, she was a total warrior and she quickly has become my favorite hero! Mark was just simply perfection for her. In his own right, he was just as much of a protector and confident in his abilities, but he had his own weaknesses that weighed on him. Together, they just felt like magic. They had a strong connection that was weaved with passion. I loved all of the mysteries, drama, and danger they faced, too. This book had me on the edge of my seat, guessing what would happen next, and while it wasn’t necessarily shocking, I became deeply emotional and attached to these characters. I’m not ready to say goodbye! But I loved this book. I love these two series! I am addicted to Ms. Crouch’s writing!

Oh, now I just really loved this book. Fifteenth of a series, it was my first, so it took a little time for me to get into the story. There are a lot of characters from and references to previous Linear Tactical novels as well as from several other series by this author. It can be read as a standalone, but it's probably better to read the full series. If you haven't, don't fret. You'll be able to read this book just fine, though you may need to be patient through the first few chapters. I'm glad I gave it a chance.
I love it when an author writes strong characters that are unapologetically imperfect. Jenna is severely agoraphobic and for good reasons. Not much time is spent trying to cure her of this problem; instead, it's more about learning to live with it. Her agoraphobia doesn't keep her from being the wickedly smart, incredibly genius person that she is. Mark, AKA Outlaw, recognizes her genius and loves her even more for it. Their connection begins prior to this novel, I think, though there's enough explanation that we understand mostly what happened.
I was worried at first that Jenna would push Mark away for longer than she really does. I love that, instead, they get together emotionally and physically and work together to stop the bad guys. I won't say much about the suspense in an effort to avoid spoilers, but there's a lot of it and it's all quite exciting. At the end, a wonderful epilogue helps round out the book and, I think, the series.

This book was very much meh. First time author for me and based off of the blurb I was excited. I am all for a found family/band-of-brothers vibe. Throw in ex-military, secret missions, action, suspense, some romance and I'm sold. Sadly this book didn't deliver on any count.
This is the last book in a series of 15 but I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. Having said that, I don't know if their connection was ever alluded to in the previous books since this book only brought up one single interaction of theirs, repeatedly, before they met in this one. I wasn't sold on their romance at all since there was no chemistry between them. One day they were acquaintances who worked in the same field and they next day they were in bed together and that was that. There was zero build-up.
There was barely any suspense or action. The way some things were portrayed - aspects of gene editing, chemical subjugation, involvement of law enforcement - clued into the fact that the author did very little/surface level research. It all sounded like a child's understanding of these aspectects rather than that of an adult and it took me out of the story multiple times because of it.
Nothing much happens untill maybe the 70% mark but by then I had lost interest in the the story and skimmed through the rest. The last action scene wasn't good enough to get me interested anyway.
Sad that this is how it ended since the author has a pretty extensive collection of series which are interconnected I believe. I was excited about finding a new author and diving into the series and now I am disappointed and still wallowing in my book slump

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "OUTLAW" (Linear Tactical) I'll miss this series & all the terrific characters with this being the final book in this series its full of suspense, intrigue, heartache, angst, danger, mental & physical trauma, PTSD, kidnapping, human trafficking, secrets, sadness, you can't put this book down such an addicting read
Mark Outlawson aka Outlaw is in Oak Creek with Ian DeRose BF & Boss when they get a call their needed at Eagles Nest here's a situation needs handling two men showed up in town Ray is holding them until someone proves who they are.
Wavy & Charlie show up at Jenna Franklin's she's not been answering her phone & she's needed at Eagle's Nest her brother Craig wants to talk to her, she has agoraphobia doesn't go outside but she has to go see her brother.
Jenna parks right outside the door so she can go inside everyone looks at her when entering she sees Craig & Callum from FBI they need her help someone they call Joaquin is using same thing Mosaic was using, mind control on humans something she created not meant for that they need her to get intel to be able to take them down.
Ian & Mark arrive she knows that Mark knows her situation but no one else she came back Oak Creek because she feels safe there with her Linear Tactical friends & Warriors, there's an attraction between her & Mark.
I definitely recommend to get this excellent on the edge of your seat story, will Jenna & Mark get their HEA when everything is done, its a book you don't want miss getting. AWESOME AWESOME READ!!!!

This is a cross over novel between the Linear Tactical series and the Zodiac Tactical series.
We first met Jenna within the Linear Tactical series but we've been seeing a lot of her in the Zodiac Tactical series as she's one of their resident computer geniuses, however she works from home. Mark Outlawson, "Outlaw" works for Zodiac Tactical and has had a soft spot for Jenna for a long time.
This is a standalone novel, however it does help if you've read at least the first two of the Zodiac Tactical series to understand a few things that are going on scientifically with this book. But if you didn't you can jump right in and not be lost.
Mark and Jenna are racing against the clock to try and save "robots," humans that have involuntarily undergone gene editing and are forced to do certain tasks. Jenna is the brains behind trying to stop this and Mark is her self proclaimed body guard. He has picked up clues that Jenna's acrophobia has gotten way out of control. She has her reasons, and I don't get into spoilers, but he's willing to do what ever it takes to help her put an end to this and figure out what the mastermind is up to.

A wonderful read, captivating characters and a charged storyline and great characters
I loved this book it was a simply wonderful read and I am sure that like me others will enjoy thoroughly the characters and the plot of this simply wonderful storybook and I guarantee that you will be like me and find that once you begin reading you will not be able to put these books down till you discover the end.
Jenna is a young woman that has worked hard to achieve what she has in life and as hard as she works and tries to help others she unfortunately suffers from her own demons since she was kidnapped and this has basically made her a recluse within her own home and she is not really living merely existing.
Mark is one of the Linear Tactical Team members and since he first met Jenna and the fact that these may actually be the individuals that she came into contact with and it is possible that she may actually be able to help.
This book is filled with action, adventure, suspense and mystery and strong characters that hold you attention throughout the entire book, I guarantee that you will enjoy every moment of this book.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

I have loved every couple in the Linear/Zodiac Tactical world. Maybe some more than others, but they all rank at the top of my favorite couples list. So, it was no surprise when Mark and Jenna brought the feels and had me white-knuckling my Kindle as things got increasingly dangerous, and all the while, I was swooning over how great they are together. The story has all the danger, excitement, and feels I've come to expect from Janie Crouch, which means one more book that I couldn't put down. I've learned to just grab my drink of choice (depending on the time of day) and settle in for the duration anytime I pick up this author's work, so that's what I did here as well. Things started getting intense pretty quickly, and before I knew it, I was sitting on the edge of my seat. And yes, I did talk to the characters or yell at them when they didn't listen. Janie always brings out that side of me. And without giving the book's secrets away, that's how I found myself with another favorite couple.
