A group of strangers have convened at the very same luxury resort that Sadie and her friends are spending the weekend. The smiles on their faces do little to hide their rivalry with each other, and for one of them the competition is not just fierce, but fatal.
Familiar faces make an appearance and Sadie fears that if the killer strikes again that she could lose someone she cares about. The resort immediately locked its gates for the safety of the guests, but this means that they are trapped in a dangerous situation.
The impish spirits that haunt the island are being anything but helpful and her familiar is driving her to distraction with his constant talking. Rumors of a curse are spreading like wildfire and Sadie looks to be the next one to get burned.
Haunted Ever After is the tenth book in the Hallow Haven Witch Mysteries series.
Mara Webb graduated from a child with a vivid imagination and a love of all things magic, to a professional writer. Mara writes cozy mysteries with a paranormal twist, and delights in concocting new and unusual ways to murder characters in her books.
Peacekeeper witch Sadie Alden is trying to keep the peace at home but it isn’t easy. Her boyfriend, wolf shifter Miller, has a horrible snoring problem. They bought adhesive strips for his nose, but the box was still sitting there unopened while Sadie and Fitz, her talking cat familiar, have not been able to sleep since he moved in. Fitz has his own issues too, since he cannot shift out of his cat form but depends on those who have thumbs to open his cat food for him. And Fitz and Miller don’t get along – cat and dog issues. Sadie was relieved that she was going to a Bachelorette party, two nights at The Grove with her friends on an island where the best part was that she would be too far away to hear Miller's snoring.
When the housekeeper screamed about a dead guy, Sadie went to Room 5 to check. This room had a reputation of being cursed but William assured her there was nothing supernatural to worry about. But when they walked in, they found the obnoxious Nick Woods face down on the floor of his room… and not breathing. Sadie noticed dried blood on a corner of the nightstand. And hotel chocolates were in a pile but they looked odd. She picked one up and liquid chocolate ran out. Would she be able to find the killer before someone else died? With the resort locking the outside gates for the safety of the guests, people are now trapped inside and could be in a dangerous situation. Rumors of a curse are spreading and Sadie could be next if the killer strikes again.
This story is full of action, quirky characters, and a mystery that will keep the reader guessing. The laugh-out-loud moments are some of the best parts of this book, especially when Fitz is going on about Sadie’s wolf shifter boyfriend he grumpily refers to as “the dog”.
Out heroine and her gang are staying at a resort when a bunch of shady characters show up. Then a murder occurs. So much for relaxing.
This is book ten of the series, but it works just fine as a standalone.
This is a cozy witch mystery with a very nice tropical setting. Well, I say a nice setting, but there are a lot of murders here, so that does take the shine off of it a bit. The story is well written, easy to read with a heavy dose of mystery and intrigue. The characters are well developed and definitely the star of the show as they bring all the action, mystery and humor to the fore. And they just get better with each new book. The mystery is also a good one with enough twists and turns to keep the reader entertained. Overall, another great entry in the series and I look forward to seeing more.
Highly recommended.

Welcome to book 10, and they just keep getting better. Love Sadie and her cat Fitz, whose banter and sass towers over everyone else. The cat does not like the dog - wolf shifter boyfriend Miller. Now to the main mystery of a murder at the hotel that their group is having a bachelorette party at. The characters are terrific, with great backstories being added to during each book, The storyline flows well with a lot of action and clues piling up. Is it cursed or is it not - the room that the dead guy was found in. Surprises and twists are around every corner as they hunt for the killer before they kill again. Loved the locales and the major reveal at the end, as I sure did not see that coming. Great ending.

An attempt to give Brielle a bachelorette weekend of course leads to a murder investigation
The presence of a group of authors at the same locale adds some interesting and some unfortunate twists: Joe, is at the retreat, and embroiled in a dispute with an involved party. nothing like having to question the dad of your boyfriend
murder, mayhem, ghosts, shifters, vampires and some very ugly human characters- so pretty much a typical day for Sadie and her gal pals

Sadie and her cousins go to a hotel for a bachelorette thing and next thing you know she ends up involved in trying to solve a murder when a writer who is very unpopular is murdered. One of the main suspects is Millers father who claims the guy stole his story he had written for a novel. It was a good book. I really like Sadie and her whacky cousins.

So much for a fun bachelorette weekend. There is another murder and Sadie is the peacekeeper after all. Boy, does she get more than she bargained for! This was so good and pretty fun, well, except for the murders! But, hey, that’s what happens in a cozy mystery most of the time. And the ending, woo hoo! Loved it!

Another great book by Webb! I adore this whole series -- always well-written, well-paced, likeable and complex characters, plus a great mystery. Every time I think it can’t get better, Webb proves us wrong. Can’t wait for the next book!

Another great book in this series, from one of my favorite authors, I really enjoyed it! Sadie thinks she will be getting a nice break at a resort for a bachelorette party, but it’s just not in the cards. Instead she gets rivalry and a mystery to solve. I love all the characters, and twists and turns keep it interesting! A great read! I can’t wait for the next book!
Another good entry in the Hallow Haven series of books. A bachelorette party at a posh hotel on another island where an author’s retreat is being held leads to murder and mayhem which Sadie is tasked with solving without the assistance of her boyfriend, the Sheriff, which she does. Then he has a major surprise for her when she gets home. Looking forward to what happens next.
Please get an editor/proofreader. The grammar, typos or misspellings, and punctuation get worse with each book. Also, a person raised in the US is not likely to use tinned for canned, biscuit for cookie, High Street for Main Street, etc.
A wonderful book by author Mara Webb. Awesome characters. I highly recommend reading any or all of her wonderful books... Loved reading this awesome book...

These are really cute stories and I am enjoying them but these books desperately need an editor. There way too many instances of incorrect word usage or verb tense. The further I get in the series, the worse it seems to be. I keep reading because I'm enjoying the stories, but it is distracting.
Each book led perfectly into the next. Marvelous world building of Hallow Haven and surrounding islands. Sadie Alden and her Guardians make exciting adventures come alive. Fun and enjoyable books.
This series is going down hill fast. The characters are changed and not for the better. The story is getting stupid. The main characters have changed so much it is unappealing. It is like the author doesn't know what she wants. Ok Reading. I'll give it one more book, we will see.
