Coyote Peterson (of YouTube insect sting fame) has filled a book with some of his favourite animal encounters throughout his life. These include a Snapping Turtle, Buffalo, Alligator, Gila Monster, Tarantula, Poison Dart Frog, Brown Bear, Manatee, Salmon, and of course, a Costa Rican Ocelot.

I was actually a little surprised how well written this one was, if you've ever seen his videos on YouTube, you probably know how infectious Coyote's enthusiasm for animals is, and comes through on the pages of his book too. Of course you will probably end up learning a thing or two in this as well, as it's sprinkled with animal facts through-out.

It's a great book for those who want a bit more after seeing his videos, and suitable for either children or adults!

I’m a huge fan of Coyote Peterson, wildlife and adventure enthusiast. Watching his Youtube channel, Brave Wilderness, is a delightful, entertaining and educational experience. Coyote interacting with and catching the most unique animals in the world is fascinating and in his first book “Brave Adventures: Wild Animals in a Wild World” he does not disappoint. From when he caught his first snapping turtle in the wilds of eastern Ohio during his youth to filming a playful encounter with a wild ocelot in the jungles of Costa Rica, this book compiles the most interesting encounters he has had with animals.

Some of the encounters that caught my attention was Coyote’s terrifying feat of wrestling an American alligator in the middle of the Florida Everglades with his bare hands, his mission to find and capture the most venomous lizard in the world, the Gila monster in the Sonoran desert in Arizona, trying to find the granular poison frog in the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica, swimming and frolicking with the gentle and friendly Florida manatee in Crystal River, FL, attempting to film a Brown mama bear and her cubs in the wilds of Alaska, and a chance encounter with a playful, beautiful and rare ocelot in Costa Rica. I enjoyed reading these entries and it filled me with a sense of awe over these beautiful creatures. I would love to see some of these creatures in person one day! 🐻🐯🐸🐢🐊🦎

This book is very good it starts off with some background of when he was young and what he did as a child. I like this book because it puts us in his shoes and what his hobby is. It gives the reader perspective and the way he describes it makes it feel real if you were reading the book. You can just picture the scene. I recommend you read this book if you like the out doors.

We love Coyote Peterson's YouTube adventures, so to find he has books that go even more in depth into his experiences was great! His passion for adventure, animals, education and conservation comes through in this book. I enjoyed reading this book aloud, and the kids were very engaged in listening.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this aloud to my kids! Educational, fun, and as entitled - full of Brave Adventures! We will be enjoying volume 2 when it is released! I highly recommend it!

I do have to add the only thing missing is the lack of acknowledgement of The Creator of all the awesome creatures and surroundings; The God who made all the adventures possible. My children and I added this part ourselves through comments and discussion. If God was included in on the adventures by the author, this amazing book would have been perfect in my opinion.

This book is great for someone that like action books because, Coyote Peterson tells you about his life. But the most part I like in this book is when he was fighting a giant snapping turtle. It was amazing when he picked it up at the age of 13 years old. it is a good book so you guys should read it.

What a super fun read! The Narrator sounds just like Coyote and brought the book to life just as Coyote would have. Truly a fun read as you can relate the stories to the episodes. Great listen for young readers!

The is one of the best adventure juveniles books I’ve ever read. My child loved this so much. I will use this in the classroom in the future. I also love how Coyote talks about his friendships and there importance to him. Very healthy male role modeling.
