I work as a Director for a small outdoor adventure non profit in California and have already been enthusiastically implementing the game shifting content that Steve presents in this book.

I would recommend this as a great resource for any outdoor educator or administrator. I look forward to re reading this again in the future as well as it is packed with such great content I could use a second go to pull out even more points to create positive impacts in our risk management and philosophy.

I purchased the book for information on outdoor safety, particularly for birders, and found the principles shared in the book to be widely applicable--regardless of the industry or activity. Smith provides very practical information on how to view safety, manage risks, and create cultures that manage those risks well. Excellent material on policies, systems & structures, training, and communications. Highly recommended.
