I thoroughly enjoyed meeting George and Jane and following their journey toward their HEA – not to mention the entertaining internal dialogue each of them carried on within themselves. The story is well-written, well developed, and the characters were interesting – though I still haven’t come to understand why this group of men decided to travel on the illicit side of life. That still didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the story.
The Honorable George Hawkins is quite a contradiction. He is the son of one of the most powerful men in the judiciary and he is also a master thief. He just couldn’t reconcile himself into a life as a member of the judiciary as his father wished – nor could he become clergy, etc. He’d always loved the thrill of the lie, the chase of the treasure, the planning and flawless execution of the theft, so that became his profession. Though now, he is becoming a bit jaded with that life and would love to make a big enough score to give up the life and become a law-abiding citizen – one of whom his father can be proud. He’s even more rattled when he nearly gets caught during a theft. That really brings home the precariousness of his position – he could very easily end up in the hangman’s noose. Just one more job – something big – something that would allow him to ‘retire’. He knows he’s found it when he sees the advertisement for an exhibit from the Ottoman Empire curated by one J. Scott, Esq.
Jane Scott has had quite an interesting and lively life. Her father was an antiquities expert and they lived in a number of other countries, but mostly within the Ottoman Empire. Jane worked a lot with her father and has been asked to oversee an exhibit in the Ottoman embassy in London. Jane meets a very handsome and interesting man during one of the showings – and he shows a pronounced interest – but she doesn’t trust him at all.
It was entertaining to watch George’s nefarious plans to steal from the exhibit frustrate him to no end while the lady in charge of it intrigued him more and more. Can George have it all? Can he steal from the exhibit, leave crime behind, and still get the girl? OMGoodness – George certainly has his work cut out for him.
I enjoyed this read and I hope you will as well. I will definitely be looking forward to the next book in the series, The Rogue and the Jewel.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a fabulous start to a new series and I read it in one sitting I loved George and Jane and the journey that had them uncovering an old mystery searching for a treasure and losing their hearts to each in a sensual and beautiful way, this is a great story fast paced, sensual and a must read.
The Honourable George Hawkins is the son of a London Judge and also a member of the Rogues of the Road a band of men who make their money breaking the law, they all have a specialty of their own and George has been thinking hard about his future after a mishap and he has discovered an ancient crown that he would like, this could change his life but when he meets antiquities dealer Jane Scott he finds that working with Jane is better than working alone in more ways than one.
Jane Scott has been living in in the East for many years, but she is back in England now and has a an old letter that she has deciphered and is on a mission to discover the hidden jewels, a Kings Treasure and when she meets George she knows that he is the man who can help and the man that she wants forever, but there will have to be a few changes first.
I do hope that you pick this one up and come along for the adventure of hunting treasure and seeing George and Jane fall in love so sensually, Jane is one strong and feisty heroine who knows what she wants and George, caring, loving and he wants Jane but first he must get her to trust him. This is a fabulous story it was great catching up with Harry and Alice and the other Rogues I can’t wait for the next one. I do highly recommend this one, you can’t go wrong with a Sasha Cottman story she knows how to pull a reader in with such wonderful characters and story lines not to mention the fabulous romance along the way.
Thank you to the author for a copy to read and review.
Its a decent book and between the things I loved and the things I hated, it pretty much averages out. I'll start with everything I loved about STOLEN... 1. Extremely well researched historically. I loved the base of the treasure hunt. 2. I loved the independent heroine Jane is. She's educated and wants a foot into the masculine bastion of archaeology. She's intelligent, resourceful and not a weeping, simpering virgin. 3. I loved George's acceptance of Jane especially with her past. 4. Its cute how they pool their common knowledge of breaking law to aid in their search.
Having listed all of the above the book truly falls flat. Its's boring. Frankly, ive not read a more boring treasure hunt. And the fault lies in the lack of depth to the presentation. The STOLEN... narrative is completely mc focused. Its either Jane or George's POV. Where did the others go? His friends had lent him money and they don't check even once? What about George's family. The book claims them to be very loving so again no check ? His father and brother are reputed magistrates and he's a thief who's never caught? What happened to the lech? This book could have been so.mucb richer and more fun with a right amount of involvement by the others .
Overall, an ok read.✅

The Honourable George Hawkins is a man caught between two worlds. On one hand he is the respectable son of a senior London judge, on the other he is a founding member of the dirty-dealing, Rogues of the Road & a master thief. He meets antiquities expert Jane Scott and is immediately smitten. George decides that there is nothing better than mixing business with pleasure and sets his sights on wooing Jane. And while Jane is no fool and sees right through George’s plan, her heart is still determined to win his love. Jane is also on the hunt for a king's treasure. An old letter written in cypher sends the two lovers on the trail it. A well written entertaining, fun read that I read in a sitting. I loved both George & Jane, he’s been treading a very fine line & she's an intelligent feisty woman who's had more than her share of grief. I loved their journey to a HEA after all who doesn't enjoy a treasure hunt? The Rogues are an interesting bunch, we met Harry in' Rogue for Hire' & Stephen's story is nicely set up in the bonus epilogue & I look forward to all their stories. I also loved the snippets of George’s & Jane's thoughts, which added another level of entertainment My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Will his betrayal be the end of them ...
When I read the novella which became the first in this series, I remember to have been eager to learn more about this group of unusual peers.
George does not fit in his family’s world, breaking the laws when they rule it. Yet after freaking failed break-in, he is on the verge to change his line of work if he can find a way out. Jane left destitute by her family’s heartbreaking demise, is now trying to rescue herself from a life of future labor. They are two people who over analyze everything, caught in the web of their mind, he trapped between his needs and his desires. He does not know how to provide his every day’s life without stealing, when she has the means but is impeded by her sex status.
And while they meet under falsehood as he has his eyes set on the great prices she is protecting. Their attraction is evident from the beginning but once trust had been broken, the path to redemption is far longer. I loved how Jane goes after what she wants, her bluntness and honesty. She does not hide how much his betrayal hurt her, she also is honest about the pull she feels for him. George is caught between his guilt and his attraction for her. He knows he damaged badly their relationship and to mend it, time and redeeming actions might never be enough, but he is willing to try as in his inner core, he has known since the beginning she was the one for him.
I loved this tale which navigated all the sides of their relationship, from their burgeoning friendship and desires to its disruption because of his deeds to the patching of it. The mystery of the missing jewels added to the tension between them. 4.5 stars

I have been granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.
An adventure not soon forgotten featuring handsome thief, George Hawkins, who is also the son of a London judge and antiquities expert Jane Scott, defender of any articles to be stolen!
George Hawkins had been earning a living stealing items, that is, items on demand for purchasers but now he was he was growing tired of that and wanted to make one big cash sale...He needed to go back to his regular life and make is father proud.. When he caught sight of an article in the paper touting a special exhibit from the Ottoman Empire including a priceless gold and jewel encrusted crown, his interest went on alert. He needed to meet the curator, J Scott Esq after he learned all he could.
Jane Scott was praying that being over the Ottoman Empire exhibit will open up other jobs for her in London. Then she can find the treasure of the King, with the map she had.. Then she meets George at the exhibit, who shows a lot of interest... in her. But is he to be trusted?
An exciting story as these two interact and banter together. Can George really steal the crown or will he be successful in stealing Jane's heart? Loved this story!
WOW… WHAT A GREAT READ!!! Stolen by the Rogue by Sasha Cottman is book 2 in the the Rogues of the Road series and so far I am just loving this series. Though in a series this book can be read as a standalone. This story is oh so very original and the characters are wonderful. Sasha has a true gift for writing a story that this book will defiantly take you back in time. This story has a treasure hunt, clues, a women archaeologist and curator, no-one believing you, mistrust, buying an old run down house in a bad neighborhood, posing as a married couple, rescue and love. I highly recommend this book. It was really really great!!!
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
5 Stars Entertaining Treasure Hunt The Honorable George Hawkins is a rake, a master thief (he is one of the founding members of the Rogues of the Road, a not so legal coaching company) & worse yet, he is the son of a well-respected London judge. He has no interest in law, but he has decided he will do one last heist that will be worth enough to get him through his money needs. His answer is to steal the priceless gold and jewel-encrusted crown of Baldwin I (crusader ruler of Constantinople) from an exhibition of antiquities coming to London.
Jane Scott is lovely, sweet & intelligent - she is an antiquities expert & oversees the exhibition tours & education for the Ottoman display. She grew up with her family on the far east coast of the Mediterranean & after her family was killed when a storm hit their ship, she spent two years on Malta. She will finish this employment with the exhibition & then will stay in London to find a treasure of her own that she has spent much time & effort gaining clues.
When George & Jane meet, there is an instant desire from both, but things are not as they seem to be - Jane is far more intelligent than George thought & she sees right through his time paying so much attention to her & the crown. However, even though Jane knows that George is a thief, she cannot stop her fluttering heart & George is falling for Jane & he must find a way to convince her he is going to give up his thieving ways & wants a life with her. Convincing her is not that simple. In searching together for more clues for Jane's treasure. they find a letter, but they must solve the cypher that sends them to a treasure of gold and precious jewels. Now they must learn to trust the other one - can they do it?
I highly recommend this entertaining story with a great plot & very likable characters. I voluntarily read & reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book; all thoughts & opinions are my own.
Wow! I love Sasha Cottman’s latest book “Stolen By The Rogue”! A thrilling change of pace, it offers adventure of a different sort.
The Honorable George Hawkins is son of a respected senior London judge walking on the wrong side of the law. A founding member of the dirty-dealing, Rogues of the Road, George is a thief. Ready to retire to a life of respectability he hoping for one more score big enough to achieve his means. Not only is George a master thief, he’s a handsome and charming rogue seeking not just one last score but redemption.
Jane Scott is an Antiquities Expert and Curator for the Ottoman Ambassador’s exhibit at the art museum In London. She’s intelligent, educated and independent. She’s hoping once the exhibit is over to find work in London though this is not a job women were allowed to hold. She also has a secret treasure she’s seeking and knows George may be just the one to help her find it.
The characters are so well created and defined. I just loved Jane’s feisty strength, she was a woman ahead of her time and George was such a lovable rogue. The dialogue was just so good, the banter, the wit, the humor and the sweet romantic exchanges. I love how Sasha shows their emotional turmoil through their inner dialogue.
The storyline was fascinating, reminiscent of a cross between Romancing The Stone and Indiana Jones. The plot was engaging and fun and the author’s research and execution was spot on. The romance was fun, sweet, sensual and delightful. This is definitely a must read story!
Thank you so much Ms. Cottman for such a wonderfully delightful reading experience.
🦈🦈ONE SENSATIONAL JOURNEY🦈🦈 Screaming skiddles scooby! Sasha dishes up one earth quaking, ground breaking, tumultuous, boot-stomping rock-my-world tsunami, allies are forged and battle lines are drawn, revving up the exuberance and vigor, jetting this jewel to staggering heights. Satisfaction is an understatement, this little number comes packing a punch, knocking down walls and crashing foundations, traversing the riveting drama, gripping intrigue, underlying currents, gut-wretching misgivings, electrifying suspense and intense situations converge, attentive to the dramatic twists and wicked turns unfolding, wrapping this jewel up sleek, shiny and tight. Anarchy and escapades descend in a flurry of calculated maneuvers and brilliant deductions while the sketchy barriers and paltry boundaries solidify as limitations are exhausted and negated, noting the formidable struggles and challenging triumphs, attentive to the perilous twists and wicked turns unfolding, secrets are revealed, revelations are disclosed and vows are pledged, launching this baby to life spectacularly. The characters are complex, genuine and realistic with traits and qualities that balance and blend, with amazing depth and diversity with enough spice to add an extra kick to the mix. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating a majestic backdrop so rich and lively it feels as though you're part of the story instead of on the sidelines, feeling everything the characters feel. Amazing job Sasha, thanks for sharing this awesome little guy with us.
Sasha Cottman’s newest series, Rogues of the Road, is based on four gentleman who start the RR Coaching Company as a cover for their not-so-respectable day or night jobs, whichever the case may be. Stolen by the Rogue is book one in the series and features George Hawkins, a master thief who has decided to change his ways, and Jane Scott, an antiquities expert overseeing an exhibit in London.
When they meet, George is short of funds and believes one more heist is all he needs, and the jeweled crown of Baldwin is his ticket to freedom. George shows interest in Jane at one of the exhibit showings and although she finds him handsome, she knows his pursuit of her is a ploy and his true interest is in the crown. While George works on his plans to steal the crown, a real attraction develops between he and Jane, which irks them both. Would he really steal from Jane’s exhibit and leave her to deal with the fallout?
I so enjoyed reading this well-written, funny, passionate story! I found myself laughing while reading about their adventures. The characters developed throughout the book and there was an underlying plot to discover a buried treasure. While this is a standalone book, characters from a previous novella show up in the story. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
George Hawkins is a master thief. His target is the gold and jeweled crown of Baldwin I, a crusader ruler of Constantinople. The crown is part of an exhibition curated by Jane Scott, daughter of an archaeologist and Eastern antiquities expert. After viewing the crown’s exhibit twice, and with his plan in place, George makes his move. Jane, although taken with George, catches and shoots him before he gets his hands on the prize. This is where the story starts. The real story is a treasure hunt. Jane has researched clues to find a treasure given to Charles I’s mistress for safekeeping. When he recovers, he agrees to assist Jane in deciphering the clues and finding the treasure.
This story is a fun mystery and adventure, and a love story with sizzle. Jane is brilliant, determined, stubborn, and by English standards quite worldly. She lost her family in a shipwreck and is alone. George, one of the Rogues of the Road. He is a master thief and the son of a judge (ironic, right?). He has reached a point where he would like to leave his criminal life behind, but he needs to take care of some obligations first. George and Jane work very well together (in a knock-heads kind of way). If they succeed in their quest, their futures are bright, or maybe a future together. An engaging story with interesting characters. I enjoyed and recommend it.
I received an ARC via Booksprout. My review is voluntary.
This is the first book in the Rogues of the Road series and what a fantastic start to the series! George is a rake and a master thief, and also the son if a respectable London judge. He is also one of the founding members of Rogues of the Road Coaching Company which is just a cover for their questionable activities of the night. He has his sights set on Jane, who is an antiquities expert and is overseeing an an exhibition in London. As much as George tries to fool her and pull the wool over her eyes, Jane is a smart, intelligent woman and sees right through him and knows he is a thief. However, they both have an amazing connection and attraction they can't deny. Their growing feelings towards each other gives George pause. Will he go through with his plan and leave Jane to deal with the fallout? This was a well-written, exciting and passionate story that I could not put down. The characters were wonderful and I enjoyed following their journey to love. A great start to the series and I'm looking forward to the upcoming books!

***EXCITING!!!*** I loved reading this book. It reminded me of an Indiana Jones movie looking for lost treasure. The main characters Jane and George are amazing. They are well developed, have strong personalities and a penchant for treasure of all kinds. George's treasures are usually the type he heists and sells. Whereas Jane's treasure has been the work of her father's lifetime and then hers by following clues to a buried treasure. Jane is really George's match in every way. She is independent thinking, a team player, not afraid to use a gun, takes her work seriously and is methodical in all she does. She also is a fierce lover which delights George. She is wily when she needs to be and can pick a lock like the best of them. But there comes a time in life where one must reflect on where they were, where they are and where they want to be. This is a serious difficult struggle for different reasons for Jane and George. A marvelous adventure of a lifetime story for Jane and George. A must read. You will not be disappointed.

Another member of the RR Coaching Company is captured by love. I was curious as to how George’s story would play out. Jane was not your run of the mill Miss she was an original with a mind of her own and a perfect match for George. There were a few times I didn’t feel a love connection between them mainly because Jane knew her mind and George didn’t seem earnest in anything except an easy out. I love it when an author incorporates some tidbits of actual history into their stories. The story of King Charles I and Jane Whorwood fit quite nicely into Stolen by the Rogue. George and Janes ending was much happier and filled with love. This was a very enjoyable read. Can’t wait to read When a Rogue Falls and see what the future holds in store for the next victim of love in the RR Coaching Company or as Jane was concerned of “The Thieving Criminals Company”

What a fun and exciting story! George, a master thief, meets Jane, the curator of the Crown of Baldwin exhibit, when he cases the joint hoping to steal said crown. They start spending time together and Jane eventually asks George to help her with a special project near and dear to her heart. Jane is a hoot! She’s strong willed, strong minded, independent, and oh so smart....the perfect match for George. He is fascinated by Jane, who just happens to enter his life at a time when he is re-evalutating his career path. The interactions and developing relationship between these two is so skillfully written that it is a joy to read. There is enough action in this story to keep you guessing, interested and entertained. I can hardly wait to see what happens in the next book of this series.

I enjoyed this historical romance with all of the characters. The two main characters were George Hawkins and Jane Scott.
Jane Scott is a antiquities expert that is on the hunt for ancient treasure. She has came to London to find it. Also while here she has brought a rare find to be shown in a exhibit. While the exhibit is being shown a man catches her interest.
George Hawkins is a man in between to worlds. He is a respectable son of a senior London judge and also member of the Rogues of the Road a dirty dealing group. While on a job to steal a rare find he meets a beautiful woman.
This was a fun read. It has action, adventure and suspense within the story that also make it quite interesting. There is also a few laughs along the way that had me laughing a lot to.
I received a complimentary copy via Booksprout. This is my honest unbiased opinions.
Stolen by the Rogue is a hilariously, charming romance! The heroine, Jane Scott, is a pistol-packing, museum assistant who has been burned before and doesn't want to be burned again. The hero, the Honorable George Hawkins, is a master thief and is out to steal the prized crown J. Scott (Jane) is displaying at the museum. But.... it doesn't quite turn out that way. Jane shoots George when he breaks in and then gets him to a doctor. That is when the real fun begins. The two of them buy a house and go looking for a treasure based on a decades old love letter. The dialogue between the characters is witty and you can't help but chuckle. This is definitely a must read book!

I love this series about the various “Rogues of the Road” as they call themselves. This book about a possible hidden treasure has an interesting heroine who we slowly learn about during the course of the story. I find that Sasha Cottman writes very interesting women set in a time when they didn’t have much power and she has found ways of making them as independent and interesting as she can. The books are also fleshed out with secondary characters from three legged dogs, rich security guards to overly nosy neighbors that all move the story along and add a lot to the tale. If you like historical romance then I would suggest you read this series. I can’t wait to see the next book.

George is a thief and he has set his eyes on some ancient gold. But in the process of scoping out him target, he meets Jane and is smitten. Why not mix business with pleasure, what could possibly go wrong?
Jane has been taken by a scoundrel before and isn't about to let it happen again. She sees what George is up to and puts a stop to his plans. But she has plans of her own. Can she take what she knows about George to get what she is after?
What both were originally after a treasure, could they find something more spectacular?
I really enjoyed George and Jane's story. I loved all the bantering between the two and following their hunt for the treasure. This was a great addition to the Rogues of the Road series!
George [found] the way out from under a life of crime and lies was harder, and more painful, than he had expected.
An interesting variation of the “rogue-to-gentleman” trope.
Step 1: Take one rogue tiring of his life of crime, yet without other means of income, and have him meet the woman of his dreams. Step 2: Add: said woman having a few secrets of her own, along with many talents and areas of knowledge. Step 3: Mix: the 2 characters in a common activity, and surprising results will come! Just as I thought that the story was beginning to be a bit too cliché, the story took a big turn in an unexpected direction, which kept me reading straight to the end.
CRITIQUE: I thought the plot interesting, the characters to be more than initially perceived. There is a mystery the heroine and Hero solve together, and a HEA that did not at all seem certain until the end of the story. There are steamy scenes near the end (let the reader beware) which for me were a detraction, as noted in only 4 stars instead of 5. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another Rogue of the Road bit the dust. George wanted to stop his thieving ways but needed one more big one. He found something better but almost threw it away. His journey was interesting, full of lessons and love. Jane was an intriguing character with her different way of thinking because of her background. I loved her openness though it was hard for her to overcome her past. Their love for treasure hunting brought them together and helped overcome their differences. I recommend this story and look forward to the next in the series.
I received an ARC of this story, and this is my unsolicited review.
Stolen by the Rogue. I enjoyed the entertainment of this book. The characters I thought were charming and witty. The romance between George and Jane, I thought was a slow burn. After reading further into the book their relationship seemed to pickup speed. The action was fast pace, which allowed the book for me to be a fast read. The drama wasn’t to intense, but it collaborated with the entertainment well. The writer provided information regarding the museum pieces and art work. This I thought helped with the story as well. I had a great time reading this book from the author. Until next time my fellow readers... read on.
Jane is a great strong character but she is held back because she is a woman. That is just the way it was back then. They work together and it is an instant attraction but he betrays her and the trust is broken. They are looking for treasure. Jane is strong and just a wonderful character, George is part of a group called Rogues of the Road, they are not all on the up and up. George has a father who is a senior judge. This is a wonderful story of friendship and then more then betrayal. This is a wonderful story and the characters are just great. I could not put it down. Fabulous book.

I loved this sexy story with great characters, romance and intrigue. George was the son of a judge, but was in a min of rogues who did illegal activities. He was robbing an expensive painting from a museum and was shot at. Then he decided to do one more job and steal a crown belonging to a Sultan. He met a woman there that he fell for and wooed her, but still tried to steal the crown there was a lot of romance and intrigue, but the ending was great.

This is a wonderfully gripping first book, in what promises to be a great series. The plot is full of emotional turmoil and brilliantly thought out characters, that have been crafted with great determination and fortitude to overcome their fears and problems to achieve their goals and happiness. this is a delightful book that would suit anybody that loves steamy historical romances that have plenty of suspense and mystery. I read an ARC copy.
A treasure hunt, yes! We are at the thief of the Rogues of the Road series and George and Jane will steal your heart. I love that Sasha interjects real history into the story. This story has an unconventional heroine which is refreshing to read. There is the Ottoman Empire, Charles the First’s mistress, a real treasure and lots of trust issues going on in the story. George and Jane are just delicious as this odd couple. An enjoyable read!
The second book in the Rogues of the Road series a well written story with a very good storyline. The Honorable George Hawkins is both an honorable man and he is a founding member of the dirty-dealing, Rogues of the Road. He meets antiquities expert Jane Scott and they get together to search for a king’s treasure of gold and jewels. I enjoyed seeing this story come together.
