I absolutely LOVED this book! True to the continuing story, Nellie will keep you guessing to the very last page! I am going to be slightly vague in my review because I don't want to give away any spoilers! I really love how the characters have come to life and I feel like I've really gotten to know them. A few characters that I didn't like before are starting to grow on me now! This installment in The Shadow Slayers series follows Damien and Michael (and someone else but I'm not giving away who!) back in time to take care of business. This time someone's life is literally on the line and they are racing against time to save them with the help of their special time traveling guest. This book has lots of twists and turns mixed in with some comic relief here and there. Some of it may seem like its predictable but then just when you think you have it figured out, plot twist! I love stories like this because they're entertaining the whole way through! *Disclaimer* I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. In the fourth installment of the Shadow Slayer Series by Nellie H Steele, Trouble, we find Celine, and the Shadow Slayer team, having to face multiple vexatious challenges. Two months after returning from Alterra, Celine has settled into a relatively quiet, uneventful life, although the warning from her archnemesis Duke Marcus Northcott (returning to her world would be the biggest mistake of her life), still weighs heavily on her mind. Celine's life becomes complicated when her mother unexpectedly shows up for a visit and brings with her a secret that not only will impact Celine but another member of the Slayer team. At the same time, a mysterious rose unexpectedly appears that proves to be the beginning of Celine's most dangerous journey. Coinciding with this, Celine begins to experience having headaches, numb tingly hands, and time loss. Trouble is a thrilling, suspenseful mystery story full of unexpected revelations and unpredictable dangers that will keep readers turning the pages well after they thought they had it all figured out. The storyline was well written and flowed effortlessly. The red dress, ruby necklace, and the eerie cave are all hints of what is to come. The story's characters were, at times, unusual in their behavior from what I have witnessed in previous installments of the Slayer series. Enemies become allies in an effort to destroy a common evil foe that threatens the lives of several Slayers in an attempt to gain power. The story's anticipation level was high throughout the story and did not stop, even at the end. I enjoyed reading the book, finding the plot riveting, and the character's interactions highly emotional, stressful, yet entertaining. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read an exceptional suspense/mystery novel.

I can’t believe I have to wait until 2023 for the next book…the wait is going to kill me! This series is so good. Time travel still really messes with my head, though!
I couldn't put this story down, I had to keep reading to the end. The ongoing plot gets more complex and the characters more familiar with each addition to the series. Well done, I can't wait till till next book.
Just finished book 4 in this series. I think my favorite character has to be Marcus. I truly do not think he is as bad as we think. I think we realize he truly is nicer as this series continues. Is he a villain, yes he is but time may prove he's not as horrible as we think. You have to love him as much as you hate him. This series in my opinion is well written to keep us guessing and looking forward to the next adventure.
Wow!!! Just when you hope things will settle down for Celine, they get worse. What an adventure!!! Another page-turner!!! Will Celine ever get to settle down???? A must read series!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
