LA is ruthless and Hollywood will stop at nothing to keep its secrets. Reese Allen told those secrets, and she paid the price.

All the former child star wanted was to transition her career into adulthood. Instead, she ended up embroiled in the #metoo movement. When the news broke that she was pressing charges against a powerful music executive, her agent dropped her, her film and TV roles diminished, and her endorsement deals disappeared.

With the sexual assault trial just days away, Reese is doing the only thing she can do — lash out. At Hollywood, at the people who wronged her, at the code of silence built up around that behavior.

Then Reese literally stumbles into Sebastian “Baz” Tennant, former guitar player for Ear Assassins, outside a club on Sunset Blvd. Can he help her find her footing? Or will his own past get in their way?

Reese sure could use a friend right about now. And in LA, those are hard to come by.

But Hollywood is made for comebacks and Reese Allen is nothing but ready for hers.

Free Falling is the fifth book in the LA Rock Star Romance series. The novels in the LA Rock Star Romance series feature interconnected stories (and Happily Ever Afters!) but can be read as stand-alones. Set in the glam and gritty Los Angeles rock scene, the series is filled with swoon-worthy men and badass women, all chasing their dreams in Hollywood’s cut-throat music industry.

CW: This book deals with surviving sexual assault. Please take care when reading.

I write fiction about badass women (and the people they love).

Urban Fantasy lovers will know me as Karen Greco, author of the best-selling Hell’s Belle series. My Contemporary Romance books are written under Elle Greco.

While the genres are worlds apart, strong female characters are the chain that links all my worlds.

These women are magical. They wield wicked weapons. They play a mean drum solo. They fall in love. They rule the boardroom and the bedroom.

Whatever they do, they do it with swagger.

My storytelling career began when I forced everyone play “make-believe” with me when I was a kid. That eventually morphed into banging out short stories on my mom’s old manual typewriter. As I got older, I graduated to penning bad poetry, then not terrible plays as a teenager. I studied playwright in college but my career took a detour and I ended up working in journalism and then entertainment publicity, which kept me busy for 20-odd years.

My “day job” has taken me from gritty rock clubs in The Bowery to glam red carpets during movie premieres and awards shows. My background working with talent (and the suits) in the industry has served me well with the LA Rock Star Romance series.

A few years ago, I decided to pursue my original passion, and a few full-length novels later, here we are.

I love anything spooky and impossible to explain. If you love hanging out in cemeteries, the older the better, I’d totally go on a road trip with you.

I have two rescue dogs, a patient husband, and an awesome kid.

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Trigger Warnings: sexual assault, emotional abuse, mention of #MeToo

This novel also deals with heavy subject matter, like Naked Hearts, and Broken Promises.

Luckily the heroine was a bit too cocky and strong willed for me to ignore her and label her as wow, she dumb category. Reese was a simple breath of fresh air, that I could not resist being attached to, and be wholly involved in her story. Because trust me - this is her show running.

Told only in one person first pov, Reese's entire life story is pulled out and shared, letting us know how her story begins in the middle so chaotically as now an adult singer, leaving her teen star image behind. I fell for her tenacity, strong willed personality, determination and soft at times heart too, but she didn't fall for anybody like that to cater to their demands, she lived her own way and I admired that. Also her temper was something of a famous show as so, so I could also relate in that manner.

Baz is no different, having to deal with his own demons, and now fighting his attraction to a younger woman, who is off-limits to him due to his demons again. But we all know Baz is never a quitter, especially when it comes to his daughter, who is also such a cutie, oh my heart.

And despite their relationship being rocky at best, Baz and Reese show that they are not going to quit and forge their own path, even if society and demons disagree.

And I was so there for that. Every step of their rocky, wholesome and steamy, and often tragic - MEtoo movement mention - I was there for it. Lived it breathed it, fell for them all over again.

Because they were that good - alright, you can't tell me anything else.

Also the side characters were fab - wish some of them got their stories too. Geez Elle, what ya waiting for? My soul's growing impatient hah.

But yeah I was thoroughly invested in this novel, and cannot wait for more by this author.

Until the next read,

Romance MF - Rockstar Romance
Spice: 3/5

Heavy on the Rockstar world and lifestyle including the ups and downs, ins and outs. Reputations, who you know, and what group your on the in with at the moment really matters here.

On a path to seek personal justice, it is not easy ride for the very strong and independent female lead. Full of angst, hard decisions, and facing their worst day repeatedly. Their bravery and tenacity is truly inspiring.

The emotional turmoil was hard to read, while the love and support was so uplifting you could feel it. I really loved the support network that was there even in the darkest hours.

This was my first time reading anything by Elle Greco, and it will not be my last. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

** I was granted a free ARC of this book for my honest opinion.

Elle Greco has done it again!

Each book in this series can be read as a standalone but i suggest reading them all!!! They tie well together and it gives you the back story of who everyone is.

Reese Allen is a child actor, singer whose career takes a nose dive after a truce event. Her struggle In Hollywood getting a job is because she was blacklisted. She meets Baez randomly one night when she’s drunk and her world turns oh it’s head again.

The story deals with sexual assault and the aftermath and how one woman has the strength to confront her assailant even through her struggles.

This book was so good and i highly recommend it!

*checks to make sure coast is clear*

You’ve got to promise me one thing before I go any further… *glares*

*points finger*

Not one word of this review can get back to Vince. Not. One. Word. My All-Access Pass is at stake here and I’ve had that sucker since Book 1! *rolls eyes and mumbles* You gotta love him, but men and their egos… *snorts*

Okay, do you pinkie promise?

Phew *blows out breath*, leave a girl hanging, why don’t ya!

Now to the important stuff.

It’s not easy to swim against the tide. To make a stand and tell your truth even when those around you try to silence you. *shrugs* Of course you’d rather forget it, pretend it never happened… hide, even. Yet, change won’t come if the brave few don’t have the courage to speak out and seek justice.

Reese Allen is brave and courageous. She’d probably disagree with me on both counts as she doesn’t see herself the same way I do. Not many people get to see the real Reese. A former child star, she’s been playing a ‘part’ for-bleeping-ever but no more!

Fiercely independent with trust issues Reese believes she has to fight this on her own, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. She has rock royalty and a full extended clan at her back if she’ll let them in.

And one man in particular will help empower her to slay her dragons… Sebastian ‘Baz’ Tennant. Hello torch meet flame!

*whispers* Hence the reason for all the secrecy from Vince because, ooh-wee, I was a goner for Baz.

*wails* How is it possible for one man to say so much with just a look? He sees Reese, like really SEES her!! Talk about intense. I was ready to go up in flames. My heart, you guys!

FF is what rockstar romance is all about for me. Intense, heartfelt where I can feel the beat of the characters echo in my soul.

Right, I’m off to play Free Fallin’ for the 114th time… shuuutt it!

**Trigger warnings!**
This book includes mentions of sexual assault, self and social victim blaming/loathing, sexual harrasment, violence, mature themes, mentions of the #MeToo movement, and more. Guaranteed HEA and no cheating.

I received this as an ARC from Elle Greco. I will admit this was a hard book to get through, but so worth it. Elle Greco did an amazing job writing Reese's story. It had me on a rollercoaster of emotions. One minute I felt like crying and hugging the FMC, the next I felt like laughing, or wanting to smack some sense into both MCs. Be warned there was a lot of miscommunication and stubborness between both Main Characters. Yet Elle was able to bring awareness to what many women go through if they are survivors of SA. As well as making me want to invest into a Rage Room.🤔🤔 And the patience Baz showed Reese proved just how much her truely loved her.

Reese Allen is astrong willed and stubborn woman who has become a "social paraiah" after deciding to not keep quiet and reporting her SA against a very powerful music executive named Gary Grimm. Causing her to lose her career, including her TV and film roles, music deals,  and social standing. She becomes isolated and she reacts the only was she knows how in order to protect herself, she lashes out against everyone.

With just days away from the trial, Reese decides to go to a bar to try and forget, where she ends up getting into a fight with a guy who was sexually harassing her. And just like before she gets blamed for what occurred and is thrown out of the club. Where she ends up stumbling into Sebastian "Baz" Tennant, the hot guitar player for the LA Royals and almost throwing up on his Harley. The attraction between these two is instant, making Baz feel as if he needs to help her

Reese is reluctant to let anyone in and recieve help, after years of having to protect herself from everyone including her own mother and being failed constantly by those around her. Throughout the story both Reese and Baz fight against their attraction, Reese's fear of being hurt again by another man and the public ridicule by the media and Baz's ex. Yet Reese is able to gain 3 new best friends and a support system who are there for her and support her through the entire trial and teach her what it means to trust, yet call her out on her bullsh*t.

Only thing I didn't enjoy about this book was how often Reese would run away, literally,  from her problems and would not communicate with Baz or those around her. Almost as if she expected them to read her mind. Other than that I very much enjoyed Free Falling.

ANOTHER GREAT BOOK BY ELLE GRECO!

Reese Allen has lived her young life as a former child star. Trying to transition into an adult career, she finds out how horrible the Hollywood players can be when she tries to do the right thing after she’s been sexually assaulted. Hollywood has basically given her the cold shoulder and done everything in their power to make her out to be the bad guy. Living in a seedy hotel because no one can find her or even think she’d be there, and let’s be honest, it’s all she can afford, she’s just trying to lie low until she has to appear in court to face her rapist, a powerful music executive.

Baz is a famous guitar player from the now defunct Ear Assassins band. He has gone through his own upheaval. A failed marriage and a daughter he loves more than the world, he’s got a quiet life and is working on a new project that can make him some money and give him the satisfaction of being part of a band. He’s happy to live the status quo and be there for his daughter every step of the way.

One night, Reese is unceremoniously thrown out of a club and lands on the feet of Baz who discovers exactly what has happened to Reese since she became persona non grata in Hollywood. He realizes she needs a friend and some help and he’s ready to do just that. Unfortunately, that brings his ex-wife, Reese’s former child-star day boss out of the woodwork doing anything and everything to cause as much trouble and strife for both Reese and Baz’s life.

The story of these two people is sweet, tough, tear inducing and joyful in a rollercoaster of emotions. This story is the fifth in the LA Rock Star Romance series. Can be read as a standalone but honestly, you’ll love the entire series.

Baz and Reese’s story is my absolute favorite in the series. Elle Greco has written a truly wonderful and insightful story about the Hollywood lifestyles and scene. Kudos to her for tackling a really tough subject and doing it with such style and grace. A must read for lovers of romance and rock stars.

Reese Allen is not the silent type strong definitely she's had to be to endure all she has so she's too stubborn to keep her mouth shut about the sexual assault she suffered at the hands of a very powerful music executive. This leads to her being labeled a pariah when social media and everyone turn on her causing her to lose the career she worked so hard for. She loses it all film and TV roles as well as her music career not to mention her social standing. This leads to her lashing out at everyone and becoming isolated. When she decides to go out to a bar to just forget everything she winds up getting kicked out of the club for fighting with a guy who was harassing her and they blame her of course. When she's thrown out she stumbles into Baz Tennant the sexy guitar player for the LA Royals and she almost pukes on his Harley. These two have an instant intense attraction which leads Baz into helping Reese whose reluctant to accept help since she's used to being let down and having to protect herself. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this emotional story to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

This story was an emotional, difficult journey, about love and survival. We only got glimpses of Reese in prior books, and in all honesty, they really weren’t all that flattering. But really, the Reese we already met, that wasn’t really her at all. That was her wall, her protection against more hurt and heartache. When she made an effort to jump start her career, after being a child actor for many years, she finds herself a survivor of the #metoo movement, at the hands of a sleazy Hollywood music producer. But Reese is fighting back, and as the trial approaches, she has found herself without an agent, no real job prospects, and living in a seedy motel. She’s lashing out at the world, and at one of her lower moments, after getting tossed from a club, she is rescued by Baz, who takes her home and tries to help her get back on her feet. Theirs is not an insta-love situation, heck it’s not even insta-like, because Reese doesn’t trust anyone after what she’s been through. But Baz is persistent, and patient, and he recognizes that she’s in pain and needs someone. Truly, their relationship grows to friendship before anything else, and the trust builds between them. But ultimately, their chemistry can’t be denied, and they are truly so perfect for each other.

This is also an age gap romance, but it’s almost a non-issue, only even mentioned maybe just a handful of times. It’s like they just fit so well, that no one even questions that they would be together. But Reese’s journey is difficult, and Baz is dealing with his own issues, in the form of an over-bearing ex wife and a teenage daughter. Reese has some pretty significant self esteem issues, that she has masked quite well over the years, and they come into play quite a bit when it comes to Baz. I also very much enjoyed seeing the characters from prior books, some fun and sweet looks at what they’re up to, and the way they get involved to help Reese. The book can definitely be read as a stand alone, but I thoroughly enjoyed having the history of the characters (for the stories we’ve gotten so far), and knowing how their personalities and lives would come in to play.

Ultimately, this is a story of survival, and overcoming trauma, accepting help and love, and learning to love yourself. The love story between Baz and Reese, which was wonderful, was just the very thick icing on the cake.

Interesting plot where Reese Allen, a former child star, files charges against a record exec for sexual assault and is drug over the court of Hollywood public opinion. When her temper causes more problems guitarist Sebastian “Baz” Tenant invites her to stay at his place. One of the things I really liked is for once the rockstar isn’t intense, arrogant or overbearing. Baz is a very laid back guy, a devoted dad to his daughter and more focused on his music than living a typical rockstar life. Being the fifth book in the series obviously characters from earlier books are featured but don’t worry if you haven’t read them yet. You will still enjoy this one and since the others are Kindle Unlimited you can go back and binge the series afterwards.

LA is a hell of a town and Reese is experiencing the hell part. Speaking up about her sexual assault she goes from a Hollywood baby to a Hollywood target. Luckily reese has the support of her friends and music megastar Sebastian “Baz” Tennant who takes her in to help and protect her.

But baz' ex. is Reese former producer and the press is relentless, so Reese does what she needs to hide while trying to come to terms with what happened to her. I really enjoyed this book, while it doesn't go into deep detail about the assault it holds some uncomfortable truths.

This story has it all. I really like the stories about fame, the dark side of it, what happens if you do something that's not exactly by the book. I couldn't stop reading this story. I loved the first person point of view this is always a deal breaker for me.

I love a good age gap and Reese and Baz are great! This is book 5 of the series and I really enjoy how all of the characters cross over between books.

Baz is a sweetheart. The way he protects his daughter and Reese is so sexy. This book had some heavy content but it also showcased the tender moments.

Reese has never really had any friends or family so it was nice that Anthem and Satan’s sisters brought her in to the group. There was so much love and support in this book!

I wonder what book 6 will bring!

I’m loving this series but this one is a bit more controversial with the treatment of women in the music industry and this story is about Reese who was sexually abused by a recording bigwig the media have made her out to be the bad guy, one night after coming out of a nightclub drunk Reese tripped and fell into a solid chest it was Sebastian Tennant of the band LA Royals. There is so much more going on in this fantastic story I loved it and I highly recommend this book.

Finally it’s Reece’s turn to get justice for what she went through and find love along the way. Reece and Baz is book 5 in this fantastic series, we see glimpses of characters from previous books. Reece and Baz both have a load of baggage to wade through to get to their HEA, it’s definitely worth the journey. I’m so hoping we get to see Vivienne and Jack next.

Sticking to Her Guns

When Reese was a child star and she had it all with a manager, social status and the backing from many. Then it all came to a screeching halt. She lost everything because she chose to speak up when she was assaulted and became a part of the MeToo Movement.

It’s rock star Baz, who has always been about his daughter and his music that steps up when Reece’s needs a safe place and help keep her temper in. These two have a connection and gives me all the feels. You’ll have to read to see how some of the twists and turns come out.

Where do I begin? This is my first book by Elle Greco and sure will not be my last. I fell in love with Reese and Baz right from the beginning. With the suffering the Reese went through her life to the moment they met. It was absolutely amazing and I could not put the book down. ❤️❤️

The description drew me into this book, made me WANT to read it. However, the crudeness in the main female character was way over the top. It seemed every other word was a curse of some type.

Way too much profanity so I kept skimming and skipping over the pages. That’s a shame because this could have been a really good book.

Going against powerful people isn’t easy, even in the #MeToo movement. Reese, a star in her own right, was sexually assaulted by a popular music executive who thought it was his right to demand sex from whoever wanted or needed his professional help. Reese had the courage to fight back, in more ways than one. She fought him during the attack and she fought him in the courtroom.

She was shamed by the press, lost friends and even was set up and used by them. With no money, she lived in the slums of Hollywood. She was now an ‘untouchable’. No one would give her auditions, interviews or contracts. Challenging the Big and Mighty has consequences. But Reese wouldn’t give up. She continued her fight determined to be heard.

Sounds great, doesn’t it? But with all the crude behaviors and language that come out of her mouth, it’s hard to feel her pain. It was soooo hard to relate to her when it should have been easy. And she wasn’t the only one with a foul mouth…. seems like cursing G_d and using the ‘F’ word was common everyday language for these characters. Way too much for me so I skipped and skimmed pages.

👁 ^ 👁 OBSERVATIONS:

➦ Good character development doesn’t require a potty mouth.

➦ I needed to ‘see’ something from Reese’s parents. I know they were heartless and money grabbers, but did neither mom or dad care about her at all? How are they supporting themselves since they no longer have Reese’s money?

Free Falling is a great addition to the excellent LA Rockstar Romance series. As noted in the book blurb, Reese is a former child star who wanted to transition her career into adulthood. Instead, she ended up pressing charges against a powerful music executive after a sexual assault. The results were devastating. Her agent dropped her and her career pretty much disappeared. Feeling powerless and angry, she drinks too much and lashes out. Her life is in free fall when she meets older, well-known musician Sebastian aka Baz. He offers her support with the hint of something more but he has a past that could get in the way of their burgeoning relationship.

The story is emotional and absorbing and my heart broke for Reese and everything she went through. The author does an excellent job of portraying her feelings in a realistic and heartrending way. Reese and Baz are likable characters and I loved that he was so supportive of her and continued to reach out when she tried to push him away. Free Falling is a really interesting, enjoyable romance and I loved it.

This is the fifth book in this series, and this is Sebastian /Baz and Reese’s journey. Reese’s life is in chaos, as a former child star she just wants to transition her career into adulthood, but she is left out in the cold when she is pressing charges against a powerful music executive. Baz is a former guitarist in a successful band, and he and Reese meet outside a club. This is a well written raw and gritty story, which has secrets, intrigue, friendships, angst, challenges, emotions, turmoil, and love, and leads to an all-consuming page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend.

There was a trigger warning for this book, which was needed but the subject was handled sensitively. I think there should be a disclaimer about child labour, addiction, divorce and using a child as a pawn as well as the sexual assault.
That makes it sound like a heavy book but it is not. It shows what I think the realities of Hollywood are instead of the 'dream' it is portrayed to be in many books.

I've read all the books coming up to this, but it was so long ago that I needed a refresher on characters. That was a little distracting as I think more should have been clarified. Anyway, it is a good story. I like Reese for her independence, but she ran away too much. I understand why but it was a bit overdone. And, what can I say about Baz other than totally hot. Overall, it definitely worth the read.

Fallout fro fighting back against a powerful man

Wow. Tough topic. Well handled. Reese was actually free falling. Raped and fighting back. But the fight became against the world. She reminded me of the Britney fall.
Baz. Too good to be true? Idk but he’s an alpha hero for sure. And he helps Reese fall in the a nurturing group to shelter her from the storm.
