Life . . . is but a fragile cycle of ever-lasting consciousness within the parallels and order of time, where all things are known; Past – Present – Future
This novel tells the story of George, a conscientious Lancaster Bomber Pilot, who crosses the parallels of life, and experiences the wisdom of the universe, the mystery of space-time consciousness, and the fraught history of his past . . .
It has been a slow start but since retiring I find myself at my desk most days writing one thing or another.
It all began with poetry before writing about a life experience as detailed in my first novel Doris. To write Doris I needed to research the facts and the places in which she found herself and I found this to be most enjoyable to bring history back to life while delivering a realistic fictitious story.
I stuck with historical fiction for my second novel 'Across The Parallel' and added a spiritual aspect to the story that put a whole new spin into the book; released November 2021.
For my third book, for which writing has commenced, I am changing tack and writing a totally fictitious story titled 'Venice Lagoon.'
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy my books. Regards . . . H.O.WARD
This is historical fiction, but not just storytelling or regurgitating past events. It is not a quick read, not because there are many pages, but due to its overriding concept & the way the book is structured. There are parallels in the universe , in time itself, where all is known, pre-ordained, past, present & future - that idea takes some getting used to.
At the beginning, we meet George, a bomber pilot, in 1943. He is pulling together a new crew & they all seem to get along brilliantly. However, George has some instances of déjà vu & begins to experience being outside of his body, understandably he is perplexed. These out of body experiences occur throughout the various parallels visited, be it 1645 or 500 BC. The impact on the characters is diverse. Make of these what you will; they will mean different things to different people. Additionally, there are extra sections of text interspersed into the overall story - why? what do they mean? This book really makes you think. Recommended.
What a marvellous book, its impact is mesmerising and makes you think, all the way through. It tells you before the story begins that Wuji is emptiness before the beginning. Wooww, what is that!
Apart from the mystery of the book the story is great and flows really well between the beginning and the end of the parallels, as does the recognition of the characters.
I think a lot of research, thought, and structure has been applied by the author, H.O.WARD, to marry historic fiction and spirituality in such a way that it could be possible.
I loved the plausibility of the theory, I loved the intertwining of the characters in and between the parallels, and I loved reading something fresh and imaginative. I recommend this exciting novel.
