“I was feeling good, surprisingly, yes I maybe be alone at school, but I never felt truly lonely. I felt like someone was watching me sometimes, eyes on me as I walked home, I never saw anyone but I always felt like it was Will, making sure I was okay.”
Oh my goodness. Wow. For a debut book, this was absolutely amazing. I was hooked from page 1. It was quite a short book (90 pages) and I managed to read it in less than an hour.
This wasn’t my usual genre. I’m more of a romance girly but I LOVED the switch up. I think this was a murder mystery.. correct me if Im wrong. 🫣 and it was executed so so so well!! I kept on trying to figure out who it was and was wrong everytime, there was so many twists and turns which kept me interested throughout.
The main character, Lily, was very likeable. I related to her a lot as someone who also is quite quiet at school. I felt incredibly distraught for her and all she went through. All I wanted to do was dive into the book and comfort her. Im so glad she found Will, who was very mysterious at first and I actually thought he was the killer. But I was so wrong at the end (I’m not gonna spoil it lol).
One thing I would say is that I wish this book was longer. It felt quite rushed, probably because it was a short story. I don’t know, it may just be me being picky.. but the book just jumped around a bit. One minute lily was at school and the next she was in a bad dream. If the book was a bit longer, I reckon it would feel a bit more intriguing and suspenseful. However, with that being said, the book was still absolutely amazing and this didn’t ruin it.
Overall, I absolutely loved this book. It was intriguing, suspenseful and kept me hooked from page 1. I would definitely recommend as it was nice to switch up from romance novels!

I have not read very many short stories and this is the only short story I’ve read that isn’t to bridge the gap between two normal sized books however I absolutely loved reading this. I received this from the author however, having read this, I would purchase her books myself because I really enjoyed reading this!!
