Forced to quit another job because of a handsy boss, Ashley Ames escapes to the small coastal town of Pine Cove, Maine to figure out her next move in life. Returning, though, means seeing the man that’s been on her mind day and night for the past seven months. And with one look from him, she knows she shouldn’t have come.
Sheriff Ryan Taylor is a man who gets what he wants, and he wants Ashley. She can deny it, but he refuses to believe she doesn’t remember how good it was. And so when a blizzard hits, leaving Ashley stranded, Ryan comes to her rescue like a white knight. But playing house was never in her plans.
As the snow continues to fall, and the world outside becomes nonexistent, everything starts to become too real, too fast, and running seems like the only way to protect her heart.
**Her Maine Reaction is book 2 in the Pine Cove series and a full-length, standalone, contemporary, small town romance. If you’re a fan of being snowed in with a sexy sheriff who knows how to use his handcuffs for things other than arresting criminals, then please, read on!
Rebecca is a dreamer through and through with permanent wanderlust. She's a lover of all things romance and writes what she loves to read, which is a little of everything!
When she's not writing, you can find her *attempting* to curb her online shopping problem while sipping an iced coffee and planning her next road trip!
First of all look at that cover. It‘s just gorgeous. I already wanted to read this book when I read about the Taylor brothers in Her Maine Attraction and I was not disappointed. This story was everything. A hot, hunky police sheriff and a sassy, independent woman.
The writing and the storytelling was amazing. I just had to read it in one sitting because I got sucked into the world of Pine Cove.
Ashley is a badass woman who needs no man but is hung up on her one night stand who coincidentally also the brother of her best friend‘s fiancé and returns to Pine Cove after an unexpected encounter with her boss. She doesn‘t want to admit that there is something between them.
Ryan, the oldest Taylor brother and the sheriff of the small town is known as the „lonely bachelor“ and doesn‘t hide his attraction to our heroine.
I enjoyed this story so much and honestly a little more than book one. Everybody needs a Ryan in their lifes 😍
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for a honest review.
Another good book from Rebecca Gannon. I enjoyed reading the story of Ashley and Ryan. I love a good hot cop... and being stranded in his house because of a blizzard? Yeah, I’m there!
This was a quick and easy read. Very steamy... let’s just say that Mr. Small Town Sheriff knows how to use those cuffs even when he’s off the clock and I am here for it!
I enjoyed this book more than the first! While I did enjoy Ally and Jake from the first, I liked Ashley’s story even more. This story is more of a slow burn than the previous one, and I really enjoyed that. It gave more time to build up the tension between Ashley and Ryan and allowed for more of Ashley’s personality to show up. She’s known as the loud mouth of her friend group, and she can be just as stubborn as the rest of them. I liked that she was the one who typically called her friends out and in this book, her friends were there for her telling her what was going on while she was busy figuring out her own feelings. Her relationship with her father is probably one of my favorite things about this book. Even though he died before the events of the story, she still lives by the words he told her and that has made her a strong woman.
I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series!!
Note: this is the second book in the Pine Cove series; reading the first is not necessary to understanding this story. Though, I would recommend reading it before this one since there are minor spoilers for the first in the second.
Second in Rebecca Gannon's Pine Cove romance series. This is Ashley's story and her and Ryan set the pages on fire when Ashley returns to Pine Cove to find herself - just like her friend Ally did in the first book. Being stranded in a snowstorm definitely sets Ashley and Ryan up for an opportunity to get to know each other in more ways than just the obvious one. I'm really enjoying each visit to Pine Cove as I get to know more about the "Jersey" girls and the lovely residents of Pine Cove.
Her Maine Reaction was a good story, the plot was written well. Rebecca Gannon did a good job on the book. Ashley and Ryan were drawn to each other, their connection was strong. They may have had a few bumpy patches along the way but they good together. I enjoyed their story.
Overall I liked this book. Ashley leaves and decides to come stay with her friend. She of course runs into Ryan while here. She plays games and that was annoying but thankfully she came to her senses. Most importantly her and Ryan get their happy ending.
Y’all, ever since I read Her Maine Attraction I’ve been super excited to explore more in the town of Pine Cove. It’s such a beautiful place with wonderful people and some super hot Taylor men! And let me just say that I think Ryan definitely took the position of my favorite Taylor man to date!...Sorry Jake, I still love you but I’m a sucker for a man in uniform!
Ryan and Ashley had sparks flying in book one, so I knew there was going to be some hot chemistry when they finally got their own book, but you couldn’t have prepared me for the heat in this book! Ryan and Ashley were EXPLOSIVE! There are so many amazing moments filled with heat, handcuffs, and hot chocolate! But when the snow moves out and Ryan and Ashley have to go back to reality, things don’t seem as clear and easy. And I’ll tell you. The moment that forces them to realize their feelings is one like no other. Your heart will completely explode for these two!
Ally from book 1 likes to call Ashley, trashley. So I already had some preconceived notions about how her character was going to be, but I was completely wrong and never expected her to have been as strong and resilient as she was. I loved her character so much. And Ryan y’all! I am a total sucker for a man in uniform and not only did we get that, but we got the whole dang sheriff! And he is totally kinky! I swear I swooned so many times over this man. And there is a scene in the book that just pulled my heart straight out of my chest and handed it over to Ryan Taylor on a golden platter. You’ll know it when you read it!
I can’t get enough of this romantic small-town series! The town, the people, the hot hunky men! I can’t wait to see whose story is next in this series!
Also, this book can be read as a standalone, but book 1 is definitely worth the read!
The second book in this series, and this is Ashleys story. She moves to Pine Cove, following one of her besties Ally, who had moved there earlier and found love with Jake. Ashley, on a visit, had a hot fling with Jakes brother Ryan, who is also the sheriff. Fast forward 7 months, and Ash comes to town after having quit her job after her boss sexually harassed her ( the second time this happened with her jobs). She hasn't been able to get her hook up with Ryan out of her mind, and after she runs into him, we see he hasnt either. A storm knocks out her power, and Ryan rescues her, letting her stay at his house until it passes, where they give in to their mutual attraction. The scenes are pretty steamy, and Ryan is definitely swoon worthy. I wanted to love it, but Ashley was a little too wishy washy, and it felt like she, at times, made up reasons for Ryan to not want her. I also really wanted Ryan's POV, as it was all Ashley. There were quite a few times I wanted his view on what was going on, and him falling for her.
But all in all, a really good read and I enjoyed the whole series as well!

A very good read and second book in this small town series. The characters were well developed and relatable. The story was funny, steamy and heartwarming.
Ashley Ames quits her job as a bar tender after her boss tries to molest her at work. Looking for a break she calls her bestie Ally in Maine and rents a cottage. Ryan Taylor is the sheriff of Pine Cove and Ally's future brother in law. He and Ashley had a hookup at his parents' barbeque several months ago. As soon as she hits town she runs into Ryan and their attraction is as strong as before. They get a blizzard and he rescues her from the cottage and brings her to his home. They start a steamy no strings relationship. After hearing Ryan tell his brother she doesn't mean anything to him, she leaves town and gets into a car crash. They eventually work out their differences and get a HEA.

Nope. Ryan is a controlling alpha moron who thinks he’s the star of the universe. She is a weak non-decisive wanker. Can’t stand ANYONE in this story. What a bunch of self centered children.
I do like the characters but again felt this story was oversexed and there wasn't enough of the characters interacting and conversing outside of the bedroom.
The second book in Rebecca Gannon's Pine Cove series, A Maine Reaction, tells the story of Ashley and Ryan in a sexy, steamy and beautiful small town romance. Ashley has just quit her second job in six months because of a handsy jerk of a boss, and flees to visit her best friend Ally in Pine Cove, Maine, to clear her head. She has barely been in town when she runs into Sheriff Ryan Taylor, the man she had a one-night stand with seven months ago on her last visit to town. Ryan is the perfect book boyfriend (must be a Taylor brother trait ;) ) - protective, big and sexy, passionate, and positively swoon-worthy. The chemistry between the fiercely independent Ashley and stalwart protector Ryan is scorching, and it burns so explosively that when a winter snow storm hits stranding Ashley without electricity, it could almost power all of the generators in town.
Of course, Ashley is impulsive and has a penchant for running when things get too real or she gets scared; but, fortunately, Ryan has a good set of handcuffs and he knows how to use 'em.
This novel is a beautiful small town romance, with fabulous supporting characters (Alex, Courtney) and some that feel like old friends (Jake, Ally). Rebecca Gannon has spun gold with this series, and Pine Cove is a must-visit destination for anyone that loves small towns and a sexy, steamy, passionate love story.

When the Taylor brothers fall in love, they fall deep and intensely. Especially intense. Even before they know they fall in love. And Ryan, as a sheriff really is an alpha 😎
Ashley and Ryan are just so cute 🩷 Yes, as I said, Ryan is an alpha and REALLY persistent. If I didn't know he is a good guy, yeah, it sometimes was a bit too strong 🙈 But that's just the Taylor gene 🤣
Ashley is a strong woman, but guys are really a huge problem in her life. She is a magnet for a$$holes 😔 Every man thinks he can take from her what they want 🤬 That's why I said, Ryan is sometimes a bit too much, but the connection between them shows that he doesn't think like these other men.
This book is set in the winter with snow and everything, but it's January, so not a Christmas story 😉 But with kinda snowed in.
There was one scene at the end of the last book... I thought I knew what it was, and yes I was right 😎 I was so freaking right. OK, I didn't know who, but still... Now it's clear who it was 😉
I so love it, that Ally won't need to go without her best friends. I'm looking forward to reading book three. Especially because of Alex. I love him. He is such a HUGE flirt. But he isn't a bad guy. At least that's what I think. I hope I won't get disappointed 🙈
If it had been snowing here whilst I was reading this book I just know it would have melted away as the chemistry between Ashley and Ryan was HOT! They think about sex, talk about sex, have sex and when they look at each other, everyone knows what's on their mind!
But they have such a connection, a deep understanding of each other and I just devoured their story in one sitting. I wanted to hug Ashley and tell her how strong she was, how loved she was and that losing control wasn't always a bad thing, that giving someone control can still mean that YOU are in control. I loved her group of friends, they had just a fun, loving and honest relationship. Ryan stole my heart, he was such a strong and good man. He was kind, caring, loving, supportive, loyal and so gets an A* for alphaness (is that a word?) and flirting. He and Ashley were perfect for each other.
This is a new author for me and I know I need to read book one, but I really want to start this one over again! I can't wait to read the whole series. I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving an ARC from Hidden Gems.
Another great read by Rebecca Gannon. This is the story and Ashley and Ryan. Ashley has had a rough time on the job front. The 2 bosses she has had both thought it would be ok to be handsy with her when they felt like it – even when she said no. The first boss had her blackballed from the legal industry after her rejection. The second boss, she had had it and took matters into her own hands and kneed him and ran off with all the tips from the bar she worked at. She ends up in Pine Cove where 7 months prior she had sex in the woods with Ryan. Ryan is the sheriff in the small town and hasn’t thought much of any other woman since that night.
Great and realistic storyline. The characters draw you in. The scenes are so well detailed you feel like you are right there. There is passion, sparks, chemistry, and a little drama. Ashley is stubborn, yet strong and Ryan, well he’s a caring, sexy, strong, kinky little thing!
I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. I am sure it will be just as good as the first 2.

Baby, it's cold outside! Even though much of the story takes place during a snow storm, things sure were hot and steamy in this second book set in small town Maine. The majority of the story took place over a very brief period of time and there was not as much interaction with other characters. I liked how Ashley was a contradiction of tough yet tender. She was fiercely independent yet deep down loved it when Ryan was protective and caring towards her. As the town sheriff and oldest brother, Ryan was used to be in charge and making the decisions so I thought it was fun when Ashley gave this alpha a run for his money. Ashley had to do a lot of soul searching but I was pleased that she was able to work through the obstacles and ultimately find meaning and belonging. Whilst I really enjoyed it, I didn't find it as all encompassing as the first book. I do however look forward to finding out about the next friend to find love in beautiful Pine Cove. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I thought there was some & cold in Maine - this story has you burning hot in the snow storm!
Yes start fanning yourself for this story - the heat is rising, even during a blizzard! Ashley is one of Ally's BFFs and she has come to escape a hostile situation. She is snuggling into a cozy cottage to heal her wounds - so she thinks. BRad are having get out & dance and drink....that when trouble begins. Sheriff Ryan Taylor happens to be Jake (Ally fiance) older brother. They are really struggling to open up & risk being hurt & try not to run away. Action pack & communication glitches (don't we all have those?) We watch them struggle but in the end - so worth it! V2.5 hot topic of men assaulting, handled well. S2.7 oh is it hot in here? Yep sizzling (not quite 5o Shades but steamy. Who know classic authors were so romantic? More reviews:@my2centsbooklover Thanks for following!
Ashley is having a really bad time, quitting her job, not being able to talk to her mom and needing some space to think. Her friend Ally, from Pine Cove will welcome here there for a while, but that also means she will have to confront the sheriff, Ryan, who she had a passionate interlude with last summer. Off she goes to a rental house in Pine Cove and a snow storm ensues, causing all kinds of grief. The characters keep getting more detailed and more backstories to round them out. The romance is a roller coaster ride as things het heated, then off due to miscommunication. The stress of not knowing which direction her life should take from here, going back to New York or staying in Pine Cove. Twists and surprises galore before things settle in a rhythm that finishes this story off nicely.

This is an Insta-Love story. I liked this book. My main problem with this book is Ashley's waffling throughout the whole book. It drove me bonkers to read it. The story is only part believable as we hooked-up once with no talking or anything and now I can't stop thinking about you. Seven months later we spend a week together and to me little talking but hey I can't let you go ever. I will say again I did like this book I just don't think I liked Ashley all that much and that hindered the story overall.

Ashley Ames is a woman who men think they can touch and love without her permission. She is also a strong, independent woman who can’t see what she really needs since the death of her father. She meets Ryan Taylor when she and her friends have a weekend with their best friend, Ally. Ryan is everything she wants and needs but she is terrified to take the chance. After an encounter with another handsy boss that forces her to quit her job, she returns to Maine and Ally, only to run into Ryan again. The character interaction is worth the read.
Really happy that I picked this book up. New author for me to read!!
I saw this cover and was like wow, then I read the blurb and it was double wow I definitely need to read this book. And I was not disappointed. This story was everything. A hot, hunky police sheriff and a sassy, independent woman. The writing and the storytelling was amazing. I just had to read it in one sitting because I got sucked into this story. I definitely need to go back and read book one and also need to pick up book three too. Really happy that I picked this book up. New author for me to read. Happy reading everyone!!
I read this series out of order, so by the time I got around to reading this one, I had already read the other three. But I must say I loved this book the best! Ashley and Ryan are steaming hot. Ryan as the town sheriff has just the right amount of sexy, sweetness, and authority to make a woman swoon! Ashley seems a bit lost after losing her second job, and although she has always been a fiercely independent woman, she cannot seem to tear her thoughts away from the amazing man taking care of her. With her best friend already dating Ryan's brother, it makes for a perfect circle of friends/family.
Already I love this book so much more. Ash is a very feisty and relatable girl, and I love how she already stands up for herself. I love the forced proximity this book offers. There’s a nice little tidbit with some sexting that was surprisingly hot, leading to hotter content. As always, I’m a sucker for angst, and the ending gives me exactly what I want. As much as this book gives me the things I like in a romance, it threatened to put me in a reading slump at points. However, I don’t think that’s due to the writing style or books themselves, but rather the timeline in my TBR which it fell. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is the 2nd book in the A Pine Cove Novel series and it doesn't disappoint. It is a well written story as is the one before it that will hold your interest until the very last page. This is Ashley Ames and Sheriff Ryan Taylor's story. The Characters are believable and show heaps of chemistry. Great read that had you laughing and sighing nearly at the same time. Can't wait for the next installment in the series.

The insta love was actually well done in my opinion because it was months in the making. The author also did a good job of showing feelings and not telling. Like you could totally tell the H was in love as well as the h even before they knew it. My only concern was the h sometimes acted/thought out of character and that would throw me off. Perfect example, when her mom is over protective and she says something like "you only live once." That was out of character for her scared to love persona. I received a free copy of this book and I voluntarily reviewed it.
I liked this book, maybe even more than the first one. Again, the main character Ashley was relatable and not your typical stereotypical female you think you’ll read about in a romance novel. The fact that it was a quick read was even better because I was able to sit down and read large portions of the book and finish it fast. It was a perfect read for the end of the year/holiday season. Not too too heavy. Not overly drawn out. I hear there’s going to be a third! Can’t wait to hear more!
I am liking this series. I was put off a bit in the beginning of this book when Ashley is near Ryan. He knew what she just went thru and he was basically doing the same thing to her. We know Ryan isn’t a bad guy but he had no sensitivity about something that was traumatic enough for Ashley to leave town. And he’s a sheriff. The rest of the book was good.
Hot and steamy enough to melt snow. Ryan is a smoking hot small town Sheriff with a dominant side. Ashley is a beautiful girl who always seems to attract the wrong men. These two have a sizzling attraction from the time they first meet and no amount of trying to deny it will keep them from giving in to temptation. Their story is also one of friendship and female insecurities that Ashley has to deal with in the workplace. It is a well crafted love story which you will enjoy getting into.
I received a copy of this book through Hidden Gems. I voluntarily chose to review this book. Loved the story. This is a well written story and the characters are awesome. This was a longer read but it was a quick easy read for me. I will encourage everyone to get this one it is worth your time. I liked it so much I want to continue with the rest of the series. I can't wait to see what the other characters are doing.
