I'm Jesenca. I refuse to be controlled. I grew up with my brother Johain, the Alpha of our pack. He thinks his word is the law. He arranged a mate for me and sent his enforcer Kalen to drag me back against my will from the life I built outside the pack. Kalen is a true wolf, fierce and honest. Kalen became enraptured by my will. I was drawn by his strength and pure heart. We mated. I am now Kalen's, and he is mine. We spend our nights exploring one another. We went to tell my brother, but Johain had no understanding in his heart. Johain's pack is beginning to see his blind arrogance. Some are leaving. They come and swear loyalty to me. Now, I have to learn how to be an Alpha.

It's exciting to read a Shifter story with a female Alpha. This is a great start to the Mated Wolves Series and I am looking forward to reading what is coming next in the series.
Leaving this review voluntarily after reading the Prequel "Mating Moon" first.
When looking for a book to read, I was searching in "ROMANCE" I decided to give this on a try.
It is not really romance yes you have Jesenca and she is mated with Kalen. But the whole book is about her being away from her brother and being a pack leader. More are leaving her brother because he is cruel and going to her.
This was the first book I've read by Clover Coy and I wasn't disappointed. This was a short book of only 5 chapters but it is included in a series of six books.
Synopsis: I'm Jesenca. I refuse to be controlled. I grew up with my brother Johain, the alpha of our pack. He thinks his word is the law. Review: I definitely thought for such a short book it was really good. The book had a wide variety of characters and a lot of drama between the pack. You see a brother and sister at odds, one who is pure evil and the other who cares so much for the people in the pack. You see the MFC struggle with having to leave her pack and start over all alone. She struggles with not having parents or a pack. The way the book ended was left you wondering what's to come in book two.
First of all, and this is purely a thorn in my side not necessarily anyone else’s, but I really hate it when writers come up with these made up names for their characters. The MFC in this book has a name thats unpronounceable. Why? Why not just name her Jessica? And not just the MFC, all of them have these ridiculous names. Okay, thats out of my system, onto the book.
The story is not original, but thats a challenge these days. Originality is hard to come by. But its all in the telling. Can you put an original spin on an old story? That’s what i look for and the answer here is no. The story is weak and largely uninteresting, the characters are vapid and lack focus. Especially the MFC, who should be the rock of this story. But the author chose to write a short missive to start this series off, bad choice in my opinion, but it’s done. Trying to set the stage for a series with a weak start is not good. It leads me to believe the remaining pages will be just as hard to read. I have no empathy for any of the characters nor do i care where this series is going. I’m done with it.
Jesenca is just trying to live her life now with her mate, Kalen. She wants nothing to do with her brother or the pack. Well pack members what something to do with her. They want her to start her own pack and be their alpha.
This is the 1st book in the series. There is a prequel, Mating Moon, which I also read. You can get that by subscribing to Clover's newsletter if I remember right. It was well written good characters. I LOVE Kalen's little sister. I am literally starting on book 2 now, which along with book 3 is already out. Book 4 will be released Jan 25, 2022.
I received an advance review copy of this book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I hope that you read the prequel, "Mating Moon", before this book. You can get it from the author's website by signing up for her newsletter. That preps you for this book, which has a good plot, hot romance, and some anxiety-inducing moments that make this an enjoyable read. This is a quick story, so you don't have much in-depth detail going on. I liked it, and want to read the next. 🐝✋🐺
Jesenca & Kalen are getting comfortable in their new life after being shunned from their pack. Their life is quickly uprooted when Kalen's family shows up after being forced out by Jesenca's brother, the new leader of the pack. As more and more people show up Jesenca is force into a position she couldn't imagine.
I received an advanced copy of this book for a honest.
I absolutely loved this book! It is a shorter book (just five chapters), so I was able to read it in a few hours. I'm already on the second book in the series, and I am in love with it! Werewolves are my weakness...and my goodness, the strength of Jas is remarkable, and I cannot wait to see how the rest of her story unfolds. And Kalen....whew!!! WE ALL NEED A MAN LIKE THAT!
I enjoyed the series but I personally would have preferred if each book was longer. It felt as if I had just started one and I already finished it and had to buy the next book to get the next part of the story.
This would have been better for me if it had only been split into three books at the most. Otherwise, the story was well written other than too interrupted.
This is the first of Clover Coy’s books I have read. She did not disappoint me. The story developed and moved quickly. It left me anxious to start the next book in the series. Hopefully she will continue the story line.
i recommend this book for a quick read with all the things you would expect from a novel. Even though fast paced, this book was not short of detail or action between the characters.
A fantastic adventure that has wonderful characters. This is a must read book the series is going to be amazing. ❤️📚👍
