hate on graphic adaptations of classics all you want, but i reckon they provide accessible storylines and language for readers of any age. this helped me to understand the plot of dracula (a lot of which i missed when i read the novel) and actually made me want to read it again.

I had such hopes for this book. A graphic novel adaption of one of the best books in the horror genre and I have never been so disappointed. This book reminds me of a high school book report with average pictures added into it. Calling it a graphic novel is a loose representation of what this book is. The pictures barely lead the store and they get some of the basic plot and some of the story itself wrong. The best part and most redeeming part of the book is the appendix where they talk about vampire histories, and the one that lists the Dracula movies,

"Denn die Todten reiten schnell"
-Lenore, Gottfried August Bürger

Dejaron la icónica cita "los muertos viajan rápido" del poema gótico Lenore. Es una adaptación corta del libro original que vale la pena leer una vez que se hayan leído la historia completa. Las ilustraciones son muy bonitas aunque la historia está condensada al extremo.

2.5/3 out of 5 stars- The art was great, that is what I liked most about it. I also liked that it had information about Bram Stoker. The writing was OK, I didn't like how the story was told- it was a bit boring at times but other then that it was OK.

Didn't really like how the story was told. Maybe because it was told in an easier language but I still think the plot is a little bland. A child book I didn't actually enjoy.

I mean, I know this story already, right? Sort of? I've seen movie versions and a stage version but they are all different. I've never actually read the book and I've never actually much wanted to. But I picked this up on a whim. And I do have the original story straight now. Not far to judge it as a graphic novel, since this is only the second one I've ever read. And the first of a classic.

This was OK...I felt it was quite rushed though and the English was extremely plain. It felt like I was reading dot points sadly.

I enjoyed it though especially at the last part of the book with the explanation of the different scientific terms, technology included and the history. I learnt a lot from the last section of the book!

Having never read Dracula I can't tell if this is a good adaptation or not, but it certainly let me know that I don't want to read the original. The additional information in the back about Bram Stoker and the time period, etc. was interesting. I will be keeping this at school.

Pradžia tokia mistinė ir vis traukianti toliau skaityti, per vidurį jaučiau nuobodolį skaitydama ir knygos pabaiga patiko su gera pabaiga.

Second time typing this review on my phone. I took one Star way since Goodreads pissed me off and crashed before I could finish.

This is for the comic version published by Scribo, an imprint of the Salariya Book Conpany. The art is perfunctory, but uninspiring. I don’t think that I’m the ideal reader for such a work. Is this made for students who haven’t read the actual novel and have a test the next day? Is it made for 10 year-olds who want to learn about the “original” vampire story? Either other way it doesn’t stand on its own as an interesting text or piece of art. I was annoyed by the computer-style printed font throughout — couldn’t they have paid for a comic book letterer? Also, the pattern of 8-12 panels with plain picture, sparse dialogue, and typewritten summary got old fast.

Just read this comic version of Dracula if you have a test tomorrow and are to lazy to read the actual book.

Although this isn't the best i've read on the topic, I was still pretty impressed with the artwork and the way in which they took the key aspects of this story (complete with footnotes for kids who might not understand a word or a way a phrase is used)... I also liked the way the artwork really did depict the way in which each ethnic person might look, as opposed to a bunch of anglo-english people, which is a trap some versions of Dracula graphics fall into.

This was very much a 'cliffnotes' style version of Bram Stoker's Dracula- it would be a good way to test out your kiddo and see if they're really ready to go seeing the movies out there on the topic, because the things happen, but they're frozen 'in frame'... it's not the same as the boo and scare of a live action movie!

I've enjoyed all of the Graphic Classics I've read so far, but I especially liked this one because Dracula is one of my favorite novels. This is the perfect supplement for any class that is studying Bram Stoker's Dracula and the extra information about Bram Stoker. vampires in history, and Dracula is great. I would never suggest that a student (or anyone!) read the graphic adaption as a substitute for the original text but the graphic novel format definitely adds an additional layer to the story. I think it would be great to have an optional extra credit assignment to read the graphic novel and write a short report on how it supplements the original story. Overall, this is definitely a worthwhile read for anyone!

An abridged version of the story with accompanying graphic novel illustrations. A useful format for struggling/reluctant readers, as it makes everything very clear and concise. There is a brief biography of Bram stoker at the end as well as a section called "vampires in history and a map of places in the story. Also included is an extensive timeline of tales of mystery and horror and new ideas and inventions that occurred at the same time as "Dracula". Finally there is also a section about Dracula's homeland, other books by Stoker, and for the cinephiles, a list of all the Dracula movies that have been produced.
